In this recorded Mayapur Academy Zoom class, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami addresses graduating students and attendees, explaining the principles of deity worship within the ISKCON tradition. He clarifies that deities in temples are archavatas—manifest forms of the divine that appear to human perception—and emphasizes the rare opportunity to worship Krishna directly. Swami outlines the essential elements of proper worship, stressing the need for concentration, avoidance of prajalpa (mental chatter), and strict cleanliness, especially in temple settings, while noting that house worship allows some flexibility. He references Srila Prabhupada’s guidance to study scriptures and follow the guru, mentioning specific scriptural citations (Srimad Bhagavatam 10.5) and the importance of making worship instructions available online for devotees. The lecture concludes with gratitude to teachers and graduates, reinforcing the communal spirit of the ceremony.
