But what's happening in your life right now is that you're earning income from somewhere. Whether it's T4 income, dividend income, interest income, rental income, a combination of all the above. Is it not true that all of that money is presently flowing through the books of someone else's bank? Could that be.
Contributing to stress, pressure, maybe a little or a lot of unhappiness?
Money can buy you things, it can certainly buy you experiences. But happiness, on the other hand, is one thing that doesn't have a price tag attached to it. No amount of money is going to buy you happiness. What money can do is money can help you achieve breakthrough of freedom.
And I'm talking about freedom of time, freedom of purpose, freedom of relationship, and by proxy, freedom of money. Growing up in a small mining and forestry community of Timmins, Ontario, before relocating out here to Western Canada, my parents always argued about money. And I grew up in the period in the early 1980s when interest rates skyrocketed and inflation just created turmoil for families all across the country. Interest rates peaked at 21.5%. And we're in a period of time right now where inflation rates are at a 30 year high and only rising. And it brings back memories for me that are painful. My parents always argued about money and my dad already worked a lot. He was away from home all the time. And his solution to the problem was to go out and work more, to be away from the home more so that he could make more money, so that my mom, my sister and I would be happier. It didn't work. It created a deeper wedge in the family and just exacerbated the problem. It didn't solve the problem. Now, what I've learned in working with people just like you, ever since I've been in business, my purpose has been to help people. And what I found is that whether you're making 75,000 a year or 200,000 a year, or half a million dollars a year, or a million dollars a year, if you haven't clearly identified your purpose, what gets you up and out of bed every morning, what gets you motivated to get going.
Then no amount of money is going to make you happier.
Now certainly having more money available to your family is going to enable you to achieve a breakthrough, a breakthrough of freedom. But, but what's happening in your life right now is that you're earning income from somewhere. Whether it's T4 income, dividend income, interest income, rental income, a combination of all the above. Is it not true that all of that money is presently flowing through the books of someone else's bank. Could that be contributing to stress, pressure, maybe a little or a lot of unhappiness? What I discovered and what really helped me was a process that enabled me to keep more money in my family, to keep money from being transferred away to someone else or some other organization.
That could utilize that money that I worked hard for to achieve their own breakthrough in freedom.
The process that I'm describing to you is right here. It's in the book titled Becoming youg Own Banker, authored by this gentleman that you see right here, my mentor, the late R. Nelson Nash. And so I want you to ask yourself this question. I want you to ask yourself, who is the banker in your life today and all of the money that you're earning?
I'm presuming, hopefully correctly, that you're the one doing the work to earn that money, yet someone else is getting it all.
And so while everyone is pondering that question, will more money buy me more happiness? I would ask you, would achieving breakthroughs of freedom of time, purpose and relationship help you achieve more freedom of money? I can tell you from firsthand experience, the answer is yes, it will. And I'm going to include a link to a short article that was written by one of my business coaches, Dan Sullivan. Dan Sullivan co founded the Strategic Coach and has been coaching entrepreneurs just like me for the past 47 years. And he wrote this amazing article describing these breakthroughs of freedom and I would wholeheartedly encourage you to read it.
