The Lifestyle Secrets of the World's Most Successful People

This is a webinar-style YouTube video (hosted by Jayson Lowe) featuring Mitch Calvert discussing sustainable health and fitness. Mitch presents a "Big Five" framework—move more (steps), strength training + protein, sleep, hydration, and calorie control—and emphasizes sustainability (80/20 rule, no off-limit foods), coaching/accountability, and practical tactics (measurements over scale, 5-second rule). Jayson shares his before/after experience and urges viewers to consider Mitch’s assessment/consultation.

When I took this picture, I stepped on the scale before taking the picture and the scale message was one at a time, please.
So Mitch got a really good chuckle out of that. But this was the photograph that was captured before I began working with Mitch, and this photograph was captured just a few days ago. Now I'm in a, a different part of my health and fitness transformation where I got through the, the fat burning.
As much as I had set in my goal. And then now we're on to muscle building, which is sort of this, you know, this second part of the chapter for me, like strength training was great and I was leaning out and, you know, certain parts of my body were toning well and I, I really liked that. But I shared with Mitch, hey, now I just want to put on a little bit more muscle. And so we've revised my workout, we've revised my daily caloric and protein requirements, and then all I do is exactly what Mitch outlines in the app. It's, it's really that simple. And when I say it's that simple, that's why it's so hard.
Because you're, you're either.
In anything, just think about anything that you do in your life. You're going to demonstrate your commitment through your actions. I was just sharing this with teammates earlier today. You're going to demonstrate commitment through your actions and you're either going to show up and execute those actions and become a better version of yourself, or you're going to show up with your best excuses and you won't. And so with that being said, I just want to.
Extend a warm welcome to, to Mitch. I understand Mitch is here now, which is great. And so without further ado, if we can bring Mitch in. Hey, Mitch, are you there?
I am here, yes. I had some zoom issues jumping in. I think the email you have is different from the one in the system, but we're all systems go.
Okay, excellent. Good. We like to throw curveballs at Mitch every now and then and he responds to them extremely well. And so, Mitch, I'm going to turn off my camera and mute my audio. I'll be right here on standby for anything that you need. But I just wanted to preempt everybody in attendance, letting them know that they made the right decision to be here. They're going to get a lot of really valuable information, including an understanding of how they can connect with you and your team. Because Mitch is not a one man show. He's got a really good supporting cast that helps him to serve the people. So, Mitch, welcome. Take it away. Serve the people.
I love it. Appreciate the warm introduction, Jason. So I'll share my screen, but just quickly just to get a sense for the group here. I know we got a lots of Albertans, but just type in the chat where you're tuning in from today. I'd love to get a sense for the audience scope here. I imagine mostly Canadian, but we've got Saskatchewan, I believe that is Markham, Edmonton, Toronto. Okay, I'll hide the bomber football helmet behind me then for those that aren't Winnipeggers, but good mix. I love it. Okay, good stuff. All right, so let me throw on my screen. Hopefully you guys can see this. Just a quick thumbs up. Yes, excellent.
So let me go big here. All right. Healthy body, healthy mind. I think most people understand the concept of, you know, fitness elevating our brain functioning. But a lot of you guys are driven financially and I get that that has to be a priority. But we're trying to balance out living longer so you enjoy the fruits of your labor for many decades, maybe centuries, depending on what breakthroughs come ahead in the years ahead. So the quick agenda and Jason certainly touched upon some of this. We'll breeze through the big five habits for long term health that cost $0, but they're simple but difficult to adhere to consistently. Why most people's idea of fitness stops them from starting. And we're going to reframe that for you. And then how to order, hence the picture here. Order the side fries guilt free and still get fit as ever. So one real quick commitment is just to stay as present as you can. I know you may have kids screaming in the background. Don't be alarmed if you hear my Yorkie barking at someone walking outside or my kids periodically crying. That happens. They're under supervision. Don't worry. But I love to make this as engaging as possible and use the chat. So Jason actually alerted me to this quote. The healthy person has 1,000 wishes, the sick person has only one. And that wish, obviously is to get healthy again. So our goal with this presentation with the CALIT program itself is to ensure people do not get sick or put themselves in the best possible position to live a long, healthy life. And if you stick around to the end, always a bit of a cliffhanger here. I'm going to draw a winner for a free copy of my book. Okay, so who am I? Well, I certainly wasn't the fitness person coming out of the womb. In fact, I was the furthest from that for first 20ish years of my life. Layla school was my Junior high here, and this was the only time, I swear. But I got the nickname Mitch Tits because of my man boobs and was made fun of for my weight and, you know, tipped the scales at 260 pounds at 15, 14 years old.
So there's a bit of a. A checkered pass with health and fitness, but that also better equips me to help people. It's like the best coaches in professional sports are usually the grinders that barely made it onto the team because they had to eco at every edge. I believe that makes me a better coach as well. I didn't naturally come into this role with a six pack, nor was I naturally gravitating to sports or the gym itself. So this was actually my rock bottom moment just to really get quick into my backstory. Gym class, Shaftesbury High School here in Winnipeg. And this was new technology at the time. We know it's not that accurate nowadays, but one of those handheld body fat devices. And the gym teacher was real intense guy. I must have this setup going too quickly and had to grip it and get our scores read in front of the class. And I had the highest body fat percentage among the guys and wanted to find a hole to hide in. Unfortunately, I didn't do a lot with that breaking point, that low point. It took me many years to figure this out and I did things wrong. And slowly but surely kind of navigated my way through and obviously got the credentials. And now, 23 years later, more known in Winnipeg as health columnists with the Free Press, but also in men's health. And we've had over 1600 people go through our program over the last decade and continue to evolve it and really make it something I'm proud of. That nearly guarantees results if you're committed. So quick question in the chat, it's just, does getting fit require major sacrifices? This the belief in your head. Just type yes or no below.
Got some yeses coming in a mix, a mixed bag. Okay, that's reassuring because the answer is somewhere in the middle and it probably leans towards no for most of you, depending on where you're starting. So that's the good news. That's what we're going to kind of share with you today, because healthy body fat is more body fat than you probably visualize in your head. Like to get to that six pack physique. It's unhealthy for the majority of us to get there. Now, if you're looking at this chart, if you're female, it's probably, you know, the fourth photo here still in the top row. 25% is sort of the low end of the range. Healthy, sustainable place for most of us, whereas men, maybe 20 is the floor getting a little bit below that. These six packs require a ton of sacrifice, potentially steroids. Some people now can just maintain ultra lean without a lot of effort, but that's probably not the majority of you. Okay, so the good news is you can get really healthy, optimize your blood work, your energy, your mood, your confidence, libido, without getting shredded or lean or whatever you want to call it.
So I felt my worst. This is Dr. Very fancy photo of me in my mirror from last summer when I was suffering with insomnia and mood and energy were low. I was trying to prep for a bodybuilding show when I looked good. But everything else was sacrificed in that pursuit. And I feel better with a bit more body fat on my body. Okay, so I want to help you reframe the definition of fitness. It's not about, you know, having no skin to pinch. Yes, we don't want visceral belly fat, the hardened stuff. We don't want a double chin. We don't want things that are going to cause health issues like blood pressure and so on. But there is a middle ground for most and that's we're going to quickly go through here. So the foundation of fitness, if I had to boil it down, it's getting a strong why in place. Because once you figure that out, the easier everything will become. And I use this example of a guy on his couch. I have a few examples of this over the years where Zar comes running into the room, daddy, daddy, Daddy. This is what I did at school. And his eyes light up and he loves being her dad, but there's something in the back of his mind that's worried that if he doesn't change his habits, behaviors, he's not going to be around for those milestone moments in her life that becomes his why. Right? And then he has to envision that worst case scenario of potentially his daughter on her wedding day crying tears of sadness, not just tears of joy, because the only man she loved as much as her husband is not there to walk her down the aisle. Right. So sometimes we got to get pretty deep in it here to find that spark, that motivation to change, to make these behaviors stick.
All right, so Jason touched on this. We're going to whip through it. I always start with the framework, the big five framework, the foundational habits, because they have the biggest impact on your results. And unfortunately, if you scroll the Internet and you Google things, it tends to get overlooked because it doesn't sell. It's not sexy, so to speak, to talk about drinking your water and getting your steps in. But that it's the whole 80, 20 rule. It accounts for 80% of your outcomes. So first up is what he talked on. Get that Netflix and step in. Find ways to get more steps in your day.
I like it. Louise. There you go. Or Lewis. Sorry. I got a cold for my daughter by the way. So if I start to choke up, that's why picked up one of her early bugs. So move more, live more. We find in the research the more steps to a point it kind of levels off. Between the 8 to 12,000 steps per day, the less likely you are to die young prematurely. Long list of benefits. We're not going to get too deep in the weeds on this, but if I have one takeaway for you, the low hanging fruit is just to get more steps in your day because most everyone has the ability to walk and it's somewhere you can start. But don't aim for 10,000 steps tomorrow. Aim for whatever you're doing now and adding a thousand working your way up there. Plus the more time I spend walking, the less time I spend in the pantry, which ends up being a win win at night as well. And stacks happen. Five million steps on pace. Neil. Awesome. That's a good target. Part two, though, as what Jason spoke about, we want to lose fat, not just weight on the scale. This is where people obsess about. All right, Hey, I lost five pounds on keto my first week. Spoiler alert. That's not all body fat. Right. So what we want to do to ensure most of the weight you lose is fat, the harmful stuff, and maintain the muscle, potentially build muscle. Is that strength training piece in conjunction with the protein that you talked about. Because we don't necessarily lose muscle with aging just as a byproduct. Byproduct of aging. Generally speaking. They've even shown studies in 80 year olds who pick up strength training gain muscle. So the good news is it's never too late. Never too late to start, but never something you want to give up either.
Why? Well, it's associated with, you know, a higher risk of premature death if you have less muscle 63 times more likely in women. So even bigger because more men naturally have more muscle in their frame without it. So either way, strength training super critical to your quality of life as you get older. You guys probably understand the compound effect works the same in fitness. You see A picture here of a 74 year old sedentary male. All that white stuff is body fat. 70 year old triathlete, pure muscle, right?
All because of their lifestyle was vastly different.
Again, this one was pretty important. It's hard to do. I have young kids, I have a puppy. I prioritize getting in bed with at least an eight hour window before my wake up time. If things throw me off in the middle of the night, it's never perfect. But if I get that eight hours in bed, even if it only translates to six and a half hours of sleep, I still feel rested, I still feel good the next day. So trying to find a way to make this a priority because you're less snacky the next day, you have more willpower, you have more energy, not only for your work, but for yourself, your fitness routine. And it really is the foundation of this all.
Drink more water, maybe not too much from plastic water bottles. We won't get into that debate today, but really, I don't need to talk too much on this one. You guys all understand the concept of you can't change your situation without hydration. Your brain and body function better with it. So hitting that 2 to 4 liters, 3 liters being the average most is the sweet spot. And last but not least, because without this you can do everything else right and not necessarily lose weight, assuming that's your goal, is calorie controller. Okay, so either gain or lose based on your calorie intake versus your output. It's an overly simplified answer, but we can run the numbers a little deeper and factor in your activity, age, height, et cetera. It still comes down to having to consume less calories than you expound, right.
Professor? I like sharing this example because it really illustrates this point nicely. In Kansas, Mark Hobb ate nothing but Twinkies. I think he mixed in some protein shakes for variety, but lost 27 pounds because he was in a fairly steep calorie deficit at 1800 calories per day.
So not to say that's the route to go, but you can have some, some flexibility in your diet as we're going to touch on in a second. And as long as your calories are where they need to be, you'll lose fat consistently. And then just a foot footnote on this is protein plays a role with strength training in preserving muscle mass, which not just muscle mass, but bone density. Two pretty important things to ensure you keep because muscle certainly helps with maintaining a higher metabolism, but it keeps you fuller for longer. Protein reduces your snacks, reducing your cravings. For other things. And then not only that, but it has a high thermic effect, which means as much as 30% calories and protein simply do not count. You've been to a Brazilian steakhouse. You started sweating profusely. Your body requires more energy to break down protein than it does carbs and fats, which means those calories end up not counting as much the end of the day. All right.
All right.
I know we've been rambling. Want to make this as interactive as possible. Just type a chat if you understand the Big 5 framework that Jason touched on at the top. And I reiterated here. We've got some yeses. Love it. Okay, all good. So you guys are very captive group. I love it. Okay, so the last takeaway I want for this presentation is how to order the fries guilt free and still be fit forever. Okay? So this is a hard thing for people to wrap their head around. So I'm going to dive deep into that now. All right.
All right. So the first thing to ask yourself, the diet you went on that you couldn't stick to likely came down to this. If it's not sustainable forever, don't do it for a day, two weeks, or four weeks. If you're not the type that can't ever have bread again, don't start a plan that never allows you to have bread. Okay, so hopefully that concept makes sense because a lot of people get super motivated on January 1st. They want to start fresh and they go to the extremes. For example, this is often what I see. It's like the typical bodybuilder meal plan. Egg whites and oatmeal salad for lunch, chicken, it's got to be brown rice, of course, it's extra healthy. And then you, you know, have some cucumbers sprinkled with your own tears for salty flavor to wash it down. Yeah, you could stick to that for a bit, maybe a few days. But unless you're a complete robot, you might have a few days that look that way only to lead to the exact opposite effect where you just go off the rails and you're ordering every item from doordash you can possibly order. Because restriction isn't reliable. Right. So we gotta find that balance. And I like to forget about clean and junk foods and think of foods in two containers. Nutritious foods we know are good for us, that fill us up, provide energy and micronutrients, and then fun foods that satisfy our taste buds. And we need a mix of both.
So this is still healthy calorie restricted diet, but you've Got, you know, your coffee with the cream and sugar, if that's your thing. Maybe you have a side fries for lunch, small piece of dark chocolate, maybe a glass of wine after dinner. Assuming your numbers are where they need to be for calories and protein, this is a perfectly acceptable meal plan. Everyone's quantities are obviously going to be different based on goals, weight, age, et cetera. But at least it gives you kind of a framework there.
Chocolate eclair. I like it. You gotta indulge in something. All right, so how does this work? Well, the nutritious food might be the apple, and you might choose that, but you might choose 120 calorie fudge bar as well. After dinner, at the end of the day, calories very similar. Rice, side fries, or side rice or oatmeal versus a donut. Now, you're gonna obviously choose or should choose more from the nutritious food column. But not to say you can't fit in the fun as well. Okay, think of that 80, 20 rule. It applies nicely here. 80% of the time, you're choosing whole foods, home cooked, ideally. 20% of the time, something a little off plan, right?
All right, so to summarize, 8020 rule. 80% of the time, full, healthy, nutritious foods, 20% at the time, guilt free. Make sure it's guilt free. Enjoy something that you've looked forward to that's going to satisfy your sweet tooth so that you can stick to the plan overall.
Where this works out when you order in or go out to eat, is just plan your day around that meal. You know, Jason talked about MyFitnessPal. You can find most major chain restaurants in there. Pick the item you want, the meal you want. Build the rest of your day around that hit fits in, you're good to go, right? Roll in.
Couple mindsets to reframe here. To finalize this presentation is to kill the Last supper mindset. That's where, you know.
You get into the idea that you're going to go on a strict diet on Monday, so you go completely off the rails on the weekend. Whereas if you're on a good plan, you'll never really get into this headspace because you're indulging more often enjoying yourself. Effort mode becomes a thing. We all screw up sometimes and overeat. Or we intended to have a plan going into the restaurant, we had a few drinks and one thing led to another. The key with that is just to win the next meal and not go into that binge mode where I screwed up. So I might as well, keep screwing up.
Because ultimately your response matters most. Like there's two lines of thought here. Well, I overate there, but I just need to win the next meal. One meal doesn't make a huge deal, just like one healthy salad doesn't make a big deal at the end of the day. Whereas a lot of people get in the headspace, oh, you know, I overate, I'm a failure, can't control myself, my willpower sucks. Effort past the second serving of dessert and you know how that goes, right? Big idea there. Last point on this is dessert eaters lost more weight. So this was a recent study that paired up a group that was on a low carb, conventional low carb diet, whereas another group was able to enjoy some dessert with breakfast of all things. But I think it was cookies or donuts. And they both lost a lot of weight over the first 16 weeks. But where the difference ended up being was the second 16 weeks where the low carb group gained back majority of the weight, whereas the dessert group lost another 15 pounds. Hence the sustainability theme that we're talking about a lot here tonight. Okay, so focus on the principles like getting your calories in check, eating mindfully and not, you know, eating to that 80% full would probably be a good idea. But having that no off limit foods mentality, you're not a bad person for eating fun foods. There's a heck of a lot of good foods on the market today. It's about moderation, balance, and picking and choosing your battles.
All right, so last point on this is just, it's normal if you feel mixed emotions. People really have a lot of negative self talk and bad beliefs around food. What's good, what's bad. Your morals don't factor in to dietary choices. So getting your head wrapped around the idea that you can have some indulgence still get great results is a good mindset to, to cultivate.
All right, so wrapping up here, I wanted to draw a winner of this book. I'll send you a physical copy as well as digital one, but I just want to hear some takeaways from you guys in the comments to get a sense for what really resonated. That would super help me out in terms of delivering this going forward.
Mitch, that was awesome. And as we're getting those comments into the chat window.
We can jam a little bit. I just want to share some of the things that I experienced and continue to experience along the way that you and I connect on and just hopefully help alleviate some of those.
Apprehensions about getting started, about what happens if. And I'll share a few stories where Mitch, he'll probably get a good chuckle on it because I still talk about some of these things to this day. And that's why you need a really good coach. And Mitch can attest to this. So we're not being compensated anything for sharing this, you know, with our clients, our prospective clients. We're sharing this because I would never ask any of my team members to do something, any of my family members to do something, or any of you to do something that I haven't demonstrated can be done myself. And we did really exceptionally well with that in the wealth space. And I was letting my health suffer as a result. Being the full blown workaholic that I am. And.
Getting down this road with Mitch has been life changing for me because I go to an a place called Fountain Life once a year to get a, a full gamut of health testing, including a head to toe MRI where they, they also measure body fat percentage, muscle mass, et cetera. And the difference From January of 2023 compared to January of 2024 is night and day. Like night and day. They're like, we didn't scan the same person here. Like, you're a different human being and so you can do this. And it's not meant to be achieved overnight. That was also one of the things that Mitch and his team did a great job at, was affirming when I said, look, I want to, to be 223 pounds in 2023. So that was my goal, 223 in 2023. And Mitch said, look, we're starting at the beginning of the year. Healthy degree of fat loss. He's like, I think you're gonna get there before the end of the summer, like if we do this properly. And sure enough, by August, I was well on my way. And then few days before my birthday, I had achieved the goal that I had set out to achieve. And so it's gradual and it's incremental. I can't emphasize enough.
No off limit foods. You will fail if you try to restrict yourself. And nobody ever told me what Mitch told me. The big five that he shared with me, no one had ever shared that with me before. It was always, hey, pick a lane, Keto, Mediterranean, you know, all these different diets. Pick a lane and run down that lane. Nobody talked to me about steps and water and sleep and a daily caloric limit and how to calculate that. And.
It'S crazy. So somebody asked me, where do you go to get this testing completed? So there's an organization named Fountain Life. If some. One of my teammates wants to drop that in the chat window, it's named Fountain Life.
They have locations, I think in Naples, Orlando.
Possibly somewhere else in the U.S. but I, I like to go to Naples because I used to live in Florida and I love it there. But for anybody on, on the call, if you're contemplating.
Transforming your health and your fitness, get in touch with Mitch and his team. Mitch, how can they do that?
We're going to give the book to Liliana too. She had that great comment. If it's not sustainable forever, don't do it for a day.
Love it.
Love it. Yeah. So let's quickly go. I like to kind of help assess the situation first. So you can scan this. And it's for. It's not a sales call. It's just a form you fill out where all my team and I will go through and try to give you some feedback just in real time. It's probably through a loom video.
So that would be the place to start. You can see the URL or you can scan the QR code. I guess I can drop this in the chat as well or open it, see if that happened. No, I didn't. Okay, go back, let me throw this in chat.
So that would be the place to start. I know what, there's going to be a link directly through you guys.
Eventually, right? So that.
Yes, that's right.
Yeah, yeah. So we'll be getting that set up shortly. But this would be the first step just to get a sense for what you're trying to accomplish. That link there might have to put the HTTPs to it, of course.
So this is. Please don't share. This is just for Jason and the crew here, because it does. It's fairly labor intensive on our part to go through each and really provide some value and feedback. And certainly you can take the next step by booking a consultation beyond that point at workwithmich. Catch. But if you're new to my world, not sure what we're all about, after watching today's presentation, this is the next logical step.
I love that. And I want to share a couple things, Mitch. One of them is, as I was going through this journey, I would step on the scale and I, even though Mitch explained this to me in plain English, he said, jason, I need you to know that this is not like walking down a set of stairs, meaning it's not going to be a consistent drop in the number on the scale. In fact, I really don't want you to pay too much attention to that. I want you to pay attention to the measurements where once a week I just take a small measure tape and I just measure the changes that are happening with my body.
Psychologically. It still sometimes doesn't click for me and I'll message Mitch, but my messaging is different now. It's like, I know I'm not supposed to care about this, but man, it's frustrating that I got on an airplane and when I got on the airplane, I was 226 pounds. And then when I landed I was 237. And he's like, dude, you just flew on an airplane and you drank a ton of water. Your body's adjusting. Just relax. Within three to four days, everything will be back to normal. So look, I'm human too, right? And I would hit the panic button and he's like, I've looked at what you're tracking. You're fine. Just give it three, four days. Trust me, watch what happens. And then boom. I would. But if you were to look at my.
Graph of that weight loss, it's not a set of stairs going down, it's. It's going like.
And then like that, and then it would pop up and then it would. So I share that with you because I promise you, anybody who gets going on this journey, you're going to, mentally, you're going to be impacted by that. And I've shared with Mitch, like anytime you're working with a client and they, they're hitting obstacles or guardrails and you've experienced this with me, just feel free to connect me with them. I can chat with them for 10 minutes and maybe help talk them off the scale.
And keep them, keep them on track. And I've had those occasions. I get together with clients, I get together with team members. Like one trip recently, I went out with my team members to this molten hot lava hot pot place and we sat there and ate for six hours. And I didn't feel one shred of guilt about it because I knew that the very next day I was going to win that day and I was going to be just fine. When I go on an all inclusive vacation with my family, am I tracking everything that I'm doing every day that I'm on an all inclusive holiday? No. But do I have an experienced.
Basically understanding of what I'm taking in? Absolutely. And do I gauge where it's like, oh, okay, I think I'm pretty much there. But you know what, I'm gonna have that tiramisu with supper tonight. I'm gonna sip on that, you know, tequila with my family. I'm enjoying it. And Mitch is like, good for you, man. Like, because he always asks, how did your week go? Or just checking in, how's your week progressing? And even when I'm on these vacations, I say, mitch, like, let's just. Let me just tell you one thing. The buffet is not making any money off of me tonight. Like, they're probably gonna shut it down, never let me back in. And he's like, well, look, as long as you get back on track tomorrow, you're okay. We're human beings. We're. We're only here for a short period of time. Take great care of yourself so you can have those occasional instances of just self indulgence and just enjoying the foods and the drinks that you like. That was the one piece of vice, I think, that had I not received that and I tried to restrict myself from everything, I wouldn't have made it. And so got to give credit to Mitch for just explaining it to me in plain English in a way that was so simple to understand. He gave you the framework tonight, but what you don't have is him. You don't have the coach. You don't have the weekly accountability. You don't have the workouts loaded into your app. Regardless of your degree of fitness level, whether you've never worked out a day in your life or you were punching Arnold Schwarzenegger in the face 20 years ago, like, Mitch can. Can load up in the fitness app, what is going to be attributed to you, to your plan? And so, yeah, I just wanted to share that with everybody because it's had such a remarkable impact on me. And I'm going to bring this up again. I've got to share my screen again.
Because I. I need. I need people to see. To see this. If you didn't catch it at the beginning of the. Of the webinar.
I just need you to see this.
That was December 2022.
I turned 50 years young September of this year. And that's me at 50 years young.
And the picture prior to that is me at 48 years young.
48 years young, where I went to Fountain Life. And they said.
You'Ve got some significant changes that you need to make. And then I shared with them. I'm already underway, and I'm working with Mitch. And they said, okay, well, let's check in midway through 2023, which I did. And I got all blood work done. I got a number of tests done just to see, to measure the progress. And the doctor said, you're making remarkable headway. Keep going. And then got tested again in follow up this year and then got with Mitch and said, I want to start putting on some muscle now. And so that's what we're actively working on now. Now, if you've ever heard of an exercise called a, a pike push up. Now, Mitch has a really good sense of humor. With every one of my workouts, he loads in at least one where he knows I'm going to make some wise crack about it. If you've never tried a pike push up, don't.
That's all I'm going to say. And when your coach asks you to do three rounds of them.
Good luck.
Yeah, that's not the first training block exercise, but you're an experienced vet now, Jason, so we throw the book at you now.
Well, I'll tell you, I did them again this morning and while I kind of, you know.
It seems like some workouts where you just don't want to get out of bed and, you know, my gym is downstairs. I'm very fortunate, very grateful that I have a gym here in my house. And it's the days when I don't want to work out where I get the best workout in because I've got a five second rule. And tell me in the chat window if, if you're going to try this, give me a Y for yes or an N for no. If you find yourself not wanting to get up once you get going on this journey, apply the five second rule. Just count down from five to one and by the time you hit one, your butt's out of bed, you're up on your two feet and you're in motion. You're on your way to your closet, you're on your way to get changed, you're on your way to go and get that workout in. I promise you it will change you because as your body is changing, your body is going to fight you a little bit with fatigue, with you're feeling sore as you first kind of get into your rhythm, you've got to push through that. And the best way to push through that for me was the five second rule. And then I would message Mitch and I'd be like, man, this was the best workout that I didn't want to do.
Isn't that good?
Love it, man.
Yeah, me too. Hey, I'm still a work in progress, man. I got a long way to go. But this is not a, hey, Mitch, I was going to work with you for a year and Then be done with it. Like, this is ongoing. Like, there won't ever be a time that I don't need a coach. The moment where I feel like I've arrived and I don't need a coach, that's. That's when I'm in trouble.
I gotta put up with this guy. Now going forward, I thought, God, like, about one year and I could have a party that he's not. Not on my list anymore.
But, yeah, it's good. Any. Any questions, thoughts, insights that you want to put into the chat window? Mitch and I will be here for another few minutes. So respecting the use of your valuable time, you made the right decision being here with us this evening. Do yourself a favor, Mitch, if you want to share your screen again with the QR code, do yourself a favor and have that preliminary consultation. What is the worst that can happen? You'll identify a way forward, and you get to decide if you want to put one foot in front of the other and make real positive progress.
And before you all hop off, I'll share just one more thing because we've still got quite a few people on. A friend of mine who's in Genius Network. His name is Darrell Sutherland, and he wrote this book. And one of the stories that he shared in his book with all of us at Genius is he said that when he went through his health and fitness transformation, he put a note on his master bathroom mirror, and he saw that note every single morning. And I embraced it. I replicated what he did. And that note read, stop killing your children's father.
And so every single morning when he looked in that mirror, that's what he saw, and that's what motivated him to transform. Very similar to me, if you were to see a picture of Daryl before and a picture of him after, you would say, oh, my God, what a transformation. And so it doesn't matter to me if you're 80 years young or you're 30 years young if you desire the change. Because that's where it all begins. It begins with the desire to change. You need a coach. In order for it to be effective for you, you need a good coach. Plain and simple. Your odds of success are going to go into orbit when you have a good coach and. And Mitch is the coach that I would recommend because he has a great team that supports him as well. It's good.
Good stuff. Appreciate that, Jason. Yeah, I'm a big believer in coaches, multiple coaches, right now, this very moment, because I just. I show up differently when I have accountability. I think a lot of people are saying sharing that in the chat as well. Yeah, that makes sense for sure. Love it.
Okay. Well, hey, Mitch, appreciate your time. Really enjoyed your talk tonight and look forward to hearing some of the stories of folks who are engaging and, you know, getting started on their own journey. Believe me, if I can do it, you can. And I'm speaking to you watching this webinar. If I can do it, you can do it too. And once the desire was there, there wasn't anything that was going to stop me. And so my hope is that you can make transformation too. You have a lot of people who love you and care for you who want you to be here for a long time. So get in touch with Mitch and his team. Okay, Mitch. Thanks, Bob.
Thanks, guys. Have a good rest of your night.
Have a good night.
