This Banking HACK Has Been Used For 200 Years & Hasn't Failed Once!

Taran, Dan, and Vern explain the Infinite Banking Concept: using whole life insurance as a private bank to borrow against instead of using traditional banks. They walk through how cash value grows tax-free, show a case study of a 30-year-old named Luca, and argue that policy loans let your money keep compounding while you use it.

Then we're going to move into figuring out how we can control the money flow. We're going to look at a case study and then we are going to go over some client testimonials and some question and answers and some action steps as well. When you become your own banker, you will enhance anything that you do financially. Okay? So I want you to think about all the things or services that you spent and will be spending money on. Some of those things could be your rent, your mortgage, student loans, furniture, cars, gym, vacations, taxes, investments. Now can you write me a check for everything that you have spent and will be spending your money on? Can you do that? And the answer is most likely no. And the reason being is because the money that you spend, the money that you transfer over is permanently gone. When you exchange your money for something or anything, you have to transfer the money over in exchange for that thing that you want. Some of you might be wondering, wait a minute. Okay, so what if your money is in an investment? Don't you still have control of it? Well, what you do have control of is the investment, but not the money. The money is in the investment and in order to get that money that's in the investment, you would have to sell the investment to get access to that money. Again, the fact is, in that transaction, you lose permanent control of the money that you spent. And that is because there is a banking problem.
Right?
What is the banking problem? When you receive an income, where does it go first? If you said the bank, you're absolutely right. The income comes in and it immediately goes to a bank. More specifically, it's someone else's bank that you have an account in. It's your bank account, but it's not your bank. And when you spend your income, where does your money go? It transfers from your account, which is in someone else's bank, to the account of the person or business you transacted with, which is also in someone else's bank. This is the banking problem. This is what it looks like. Your income comes in, goes through the books of someone else's bank. You then access your income in someone else's bank for your financial needs and endeavors, and it ends up back into someone else's bank. The fact is, you work hard to make the income, but someone else gets all your money. So how do you solve this problem? The way you solve the problem is by implementing the process of becoming your own banker. More specifically, you have to change the way your money flows. In order to understand how to change the money flow, you got to understand the banking function first. And so the banking function involves four players. So depositor is essentially the person that deposits the money into the bank. The borrower is the person that borrows the funds when they need it, and the banker is the person that facilitates that transaction. The bank owner is the person that owns the banking institution. Which of these players benefit the most? It is the banker and the bank owner. They are the players that benefit the most. Which players are you currently? The answer is depositor and borrower. So what we need to do is we need to be all four players in the banking function. That is how you take control of the entire banking function, by being all four players. Now, have you ever wondered why we use a bank to begin with? Have you ever thought about that? Your money needs to reside somewhere, right? You need a warehouse for your money. When you receive that income, it has to sit somewhere. And most of the time, what we end up doing is we put it into someone else's bank. And that's your current warehouse. Today, that's where you store your money. Now, by establishing your own private family banking system, instead, you create your own warehouse for your money. And in doing so, you become all four players in the banking function, which is what we want to do. And that helps us control 100% of your banking needs. So what else could we use? What else could we use to create a warehouse for your money? Believe it or not, people did use mattresses back in the day to, to store some cash, right? Safe, a personal safe's a common one. Wallet, not so good, right? It's good for cards and maybe some cash here and there. And of course, the last one's a plain joke, right? Let's think about where else we could store our money. Because your money must reside somewhere, and that's a fact. You have to have it somewhere. So. So I want to introduce you to another warehouse of where you could store your wealth. That is a participating dividend paying all life insurance policy. This type of life insurance policy is the tool we use to warehouse our money so that we can take control of the banking function. This allows us to be all four players. A dividend paying whole life insurance can help create peace of mind and unmatched financial security. So there are three main components of a dividend paying whole life insurance. The first is premium. The premium is the deposit that you make towards the insurance policy. The death benefit is the payout that you get when you become an angel. And the cash value is simply the present value of what the future death benefit is. So cash value is something that begins accumulating immediately. The cash value begins accumulating right away from day one. And it's contractual guaranteed to grow daily. And why is that? That is because there is a built in guarantee into these contracts and that is by age 100, the death benefit and the cash value has to be the same. And so because of that contractual guarantee, the cash values cannot go down. You get to access the cash value while you're alive and you can use it to take advantage of opportunities all around you. When you do access it, you're not penalized for accessing it early like you would be if it was sitting in an RSP or other financial products. There are several tax advantages and it provides a growing death benefit which is paid to your beneficiaries when you become an angel and it's paid out tax free. So there's two ways you can access the cash value. The first method is, is by withdrawing the cash value. And the second method is by taking out a policy loan. Now if you withdraw the cash value, what you're doing is you're interrupting the compounding. The compounding of what? The compounding of the cash value you interrupted right away the minute that you withdraw it. When you take out a policy loan, you do not Interrupt the compounding. You allow the cash value to keep growing. Because what is happening is the insurance company lends you their money against your cash value. And so your cash value, it's not truly touched, it's just held as collateral, and it keeps growing every single day. It doesn't matter what happens in the financial world outside of these policies, the cash value keeps increasing every single day. So the stock market can go up, cash value will go up. Great scenario. But if the stock market goes down, cash value still going up. Why? Because of that contractual guarantee. By age 100, the death benefit and the cash value must be the same. So the insurance company is obligated to grow the cash value. Crypto market goes up, cash value goes up. Crypto market goes down, cash value still goes up. Interest rates, they can go up, cash value goes up, interest rates can go down, cash value still goes up. This is very important for you to ingrain into your mind. If you understand this image right here, you will understand this process and you will understand how it will help you with your stock market investments. So the green line, the green dotted line, that's your cash value. And as you can see, it's going one way and that's up. At the very end of the green dotted line, we have the death benefit. Now, the red line here, that represents all the policy loans that you access and repay over the lifetime of this policy, over your lifetime. So, for example, right here, you take out a policy loan, and then you should always have a plan to repay those loans. So now when you repay those loans, every single dollar that you repay, you get to reuse that again. You get to access whatever the cash value grew by over that time frame as well. Okay, and so now you come, maybe this is a few years later, you access a policy loan again and you rinse and repeat. But over that time that you're doing these policy loan transactions, your cash value is continuing to grow uninterrupted. And hence, we say, become a wealth creator. Now, here are some facts on policy loan. So a policy loan has no impact to the daily cash value growth. It does not affect the cash value growth. The cash value will continue growing. There is no reduction of death benefit while alive. So your death benefit amount does not reduce. There's no negative impact to the dividends. There's no exposure of loans. So it does not show up on any credit report. It's a completely private loan. It's between two parties, you and the insurance company. And then at death, any outstanding policy loan balances simply gets deducted from the death benefit, and then the remainder is paid out tax free to your beneficiaries. The process of getting a policy loan is very simple. You simply make a request online via your policy portal. All you need is your name, your phone number, the amount of loan that you would like to take out, and then you just got to sign it and date it, hit submit and you're done. And then within five to seven business days, the insurance company will transfer over the money into the account of your choice. And they'll do that, no questions asked. What you just saw is an alternative way to flow your money. The important thing to note is the process of banking has nothing to do with an investment of any kind or for a rate of return. It simply gives you more control over the way the money flows. Implementing this process allows you to be your own bank and invest at the same time. So let's get into the case study that I have here. The name that I chose is Luca. All right, so age 30, he's an engineer, makes about 80,000 in salary, and he invests in the stock market. Okay. And the reason why he does that is because his goal is to achieve financial freedom. He's a learner. So he started learning about the family banking system, but he was not sure how it could help him specifically in his situation. And so he came to me and he was wondering how this system can help him with what he does, with what his goal is of achieving financial freedom. So the first thing that I asked Luca, why do you invest to achieve financial freedom? To be worry free of money, to spend more time with your loved ones, with your family, to do the things that you want to do and to do those things when you want to do them. We invest or you invest to get ahead in your life. The problem is not the problem. The problem is, is how we think about the problem. So what I have in front of you is actually from the becoming your own banker book. This is instant, page 17 of the book. What you see is the annual pattern of spending. And in the book, it's of an average American man. We're going to say North America. And so what you see, the green bars that you see, is the percentage of a dollar that is spent towards those Items. For every dollar, 20% of it goes towards auto or car financing, 30% goes to hous, 40% goes to living expenses, and then 10% is used for savings. And these savings is money that's saved to then invest. Right. That's one thing that you could do with your savings. Now on this slide, what I've added is some red bars. Now, these red bars represent the volume of interest that the individual pays for each of these expenses. For every dollar, 5% of that dollar goes towards the interest amount of the auto payment. When it comes to housing, you have 25% that goes towards the interest of the payment. Then when it comes to living expenses, you have about 5%. Okay, and if you add those all together, that would be 35% of every dollar. That's simply going towards interest payments. How much is the average individual saving again? 10%. But wait a minute, you're spending 35% just for interest payments, and they're only saving 10%. How are you doing so far? You're falling behind. And ask yourself, how much of a rate of return do you need to make to cover the 35% being paid for interest? It's not 100, it's not 150, it's 250%. You need to improve the outcome, but not by focusing on what you buy, but on how you go about buying it. It's not always the investment that you invest in, it's how you finance that investment. So let's see how we can enhance the transaction for Luca by just changing one thing for him, and that's the process. We're not going to change his objective, we're just going to change his process of accomplishing his objective. What his objective? Well, it's to invest in the market. So what we're going to focus on is we're going to focus on the process of how he's going to do it. So here is his current process of investing is the two methods are, is using your cash or your savings. And the other method is using opium, which is other people's money. And that could be through a line of credit, a personal line of credit, or a home equity line of credit, or even a loan. So, looking at method one, so the cash that we use in this example is $20,000. Okay? So he has about $20,000 saved up that he wants to put. So as I mentioned, the rate of return that he's expecting is about 10%. So we're going to assume he gets this rate of return for one year. So in that one year, his potential gain would be $2,000 in method two. So instead of using 20,000 of his own cash, he's going to use 20,000 of someone else's money. So in this case, we're just going to use a regular line of credit. So the rate of return is the same you're going to keep that the same across the board. So that's 10%. Because he's using someone else's money, there's going to be interest involved. So the interest that I chose, and this is fairly how the market is doing right now, it's about 7% with this line of credit. So the total gain in this transaction would be 2000. Take away the 1400, which would be the interest, and he's left with a net profit of $600. All right, so with those two methods, he's made a profit with both methods. Whichever way he goes, let's enhance the outcome even further. And all we're going to do is we're going to change one thing and that's the process. We're going to introduce the family bank. So for the family bank, instead of taking that 20,000 of cash and putting it into that index fund investment, he's going to take the 20,000 and start his own bank. How? Using a participating dividend paying whole life policy. So the premium that he chose to deposit is 20,000. In exchange for that, the insurance company will cover his life for starting that benefit of $400,000. If something were to happen to Luca, if he has this policy enforced, Luca's beneficiaries, which most likely would be his family, would receive a tax free windfall of $400,000. Now contrast that if he just had the 20,000 in the investment, what would he receive? What would his beneficiaries receive? If you're saying 20,000, hopefully that's if the market stayed steady, hopefully it's not at a loss, right? What if the market's down? There's the immediate advantage to building your family bank. His cash values, the immediate access that he has is $10,333. How do I know this? We've done these policies over and over again and this is roughly how much you would get access to when you start a policy with 20,000 premium. At age 30, his daily cash value growth is about $8 per day, and that's in the first year. The immediate loan available would be 90% of the cash value. In this case, that would amount to $9,300. When you take out a policy loan, the insurance company is in the business of making a profit. So they're most definitely going to charge you an interest on that. So the interest as of today is 6.5% and that's annual and that's simple interest. So with method 3, uses the policy loan now to finance that investment. So he accesses the cash value, he takes out 9,300. He goes through that policy loan request process, and then he puts it into the investment, which is the s and P500 index fund. So rate of return is the same here. 10%. The interest paid would be the 9,300 times the 6.5%. So that's about $604 in interest. Now, if you subtract that from the gain, because the gain would be 930, and you subtract the $604.50 in interest, he's left with a profit of $325.50. Now, I know what you're thinking, I know what some of you are thinking, but Taran, I thought you said using the Fathom bank will enhance the outcome. The profit he made on that is actually the lowest amongst all the methods. But is it? What else is happening in the policy? Your cash value, everyone, continues growing. And remember, it'll take you a year to make this return. So a year has gone by, which means that's a year of comp, your cash value. So let's take a look of what happens one year later. So looking at a summary of the three methods, he went over the profits. So we're good with that. 2000 with cash, 600 with HELOC, and then 325 with using his family bank. Okay, now, the capital that he used, of course, with the cash, that's his money. With the heloc, that's the bank's money. And with the policy loan, that's the insurance company's money. There's this column here called tailwind. We call it tailwind. It's the cash value growth. So the cash value growth or his policy. So it only occurs within his policy. And so if you do $8 times 365 days, that will give you $2,920 in cash value growth over that year. Right. And so his final outcome. Now, when you factor in the tailwind, his final outcome using his family bank is now $3,245.50. As you can see, the family bank wins. In this scenario, using the family bank to finance the investment helps him win in the long run. And I have this column here on the right. I just wanted to make you aware of what's taxable. In the first method, with cash, the entire gain of 2000 is taxable. In the second method, using the HELOC, it's the $600 that's taxable. But now using his family bank, it's just the $325. That's taxable. So the scenario that I just went over is where the stock market is going up. What happens when the market is stagnant or goes down? And some of you may be experiencing this right now. What are some feelings that you would feel? Some stress, maybe some hair pulling. And we all know that the stock market is a roller coaster. There's a lot of volatility involved in the stock market. It goes up and down and up and down, and so do your emotions. So let's look at another scenario. What if the stock market is stagnant? What happens there? So now we're looking at a stagnant market, meaning that the index fund that it was invested in hasn't gone anywhere. So there's no returns really. It's just stayed flat. He's pretty much break even with cash. Now with he locked because he's used other people's money and he has to pay interest on it, he would be facing a loss of 1,400. When he's using his family banking system, he's break even because the 9300 has remained flat. But what else has happened in the policy? The cash value is continuing growing up, and so that same growth, 2920 gets added onto the final outcome. So now with a stagnant market, his net worth has still increased. What if the stock market goes down looking at just a drop of 10%. So the drop I use was a 10% drop, though you would be looking at a potential loss of 2000. If you use your cash. With HELOC, it's more than that because you used borrowed money. So that's 3,400. And then with the family banking system, so that's a $930 loss there. Okay, and so his final outcome. His final outcome. Actually, I'm showing it with a $2,000 loss. Let's say using the family banking system. Okay, his loss was worse. The loss was worse on the 9,300 he put in. So he suffered a $2,000 loss. That is more as the percentage would be more than the other two methods. Okay. Even with that $2,000 loss, the final outcome is $920 because of the tailwind because of the cash value growth. So even if he takes a bigger hit, his net worth still goes up. Financing the investment through the family bank as the best outcome in any market scenario, no matter which direction it goes. I have one more scenario for you. What if the investment goes to zero? If you use your cash, the money is gone forever. If you use other people's money, you're in a lot of debt. If you became your own banker and use your family bank, you are still ahead. How would you feel knowing that no matter which way the market goes, your net worth still goes up? And some of you may be saying, but I still have that policy loan to repay. Yeah, but you still have the policy, you still have the asset. Whereas if your investment went to zero, you don't have that asset anymore. What happens to the policy should the dollar go down? I mean, the dollar's going down every single day as we speak.
What's your cash value doing, Warren?
My cash flow is going up every day. Trude and I actually had a really good conversation today, and we were talking about looking at a policy over a long period of time and sharing some of the examples that Nelson shared in this book, building your warehouse of wealth. And we started talking about some that we've ran into recently who have learned about this process. And then they're like, hey, we want to implement this. And then we discover that they have policies already. Part of the reason why we're putting this system in place is to really lock in the efficiency of today's dollars, because we already know that the dollar is losing value every single day. For example, I had one fellow that I was talking to and as soon as I got off a call, he text messaged me. He goes, you're not going to believe this. My mom has one of these policies on me that she's been putting in cash since 1989. So she started this policy. It is in no way shape or form structured for banking. For one, for two, she wasn't heavily capitalizing the policy. The premium was $272 a year. So at this point, she put $9,900 into the policy. The cash value in the policy over $21,000. So more than double what she's put in. The death benefit was like $97,000. Nice. And the premium is $272. And the cash value, she puts the 272 in the cash flow is growing by $1200 a year. If you gave me a dollar and I gave you $4, would you ever stop giving me a dollar?
Every day and twice on Sundays.
Right. And so tell me, Taran, what are your thoughts? Does that policy help us combat inflation? Does that policy help us create a hedge against the value of the dollar that's going down every day? If I lock in the value of today's dollar, I put in a dollar and I can get out for eventually, is that going to help increase my purchasing power?
Absolutely, without a doubt.
If the value of the dollar held great. This is why we're doing that. Because I can't control the value of the dollar, but I can certainly control what I do with my dollars today. Exactly down the road. Right. That's the whole purpose.
If I had to continuously pay to get access to my cash value, how would I make the vehicle pay me? Something like a pension?
You know, I think if anybody's read in Nelson's book, every chart that he has in his book, he shows over time, someone starts to take value out of their policy. And not that is the opportunity everybody has. After you fund your policy for a number of years, you can start to take out value. Your value will sustain itself for a long time. And it works very much like a pension. It is very doable. And that's something I would suggest that, you know, book a call with a coach because it gets into the weeds when we start to look at that and just take the time, someone can go over with you, show you one of the life companies that we use. They call it the Preferred Retirement Solution. And it's a pretty easy tool that we can use to run and show you how that would work.
Here's a really interesting question. Is implementing this process actually going to take away any of your options that you have today?
Definitely not.
If the sky is absolutely falling, am I going to be any worse off by having implemented the process versus not implementing the process better off?
Yeah.
Is it going to take away any options or is it maybe going to give me some options?
Is it not that the insurance company controls our banking function to a certain degree with ibc?
Oh man, this is so good. Hey Dan, who owns that fancy insurance company that you're putting all your premiums into? Who owns that company?
You and me, brother. And a lot of other people that are participating dividend paying policy owners. So I'm a co owner in that company, Vern.
So if I'm hearing you correctly, when I call them, somebody will pick up the phone.
Correct.
So it's like there's already a system, a process. The people, the full staff is already in place. This is already happening. All we have to do is make a decision to put in premium and then we get to participate, we get to co generate with the already existing insurance company and all that infrastructure that they have in place and we own the business. Thus Taran, who do they actually work for?
For us. For the policy owners?
Yeah. So who are they responsive to?
Policy owners.
And who has total and absolute control?
Policy owners?
The owners. So they're merely administering the banking function. We are controlling it.
How long has this process been around? The concept of infinite banking, the dividend.
Paying, participating whole life insurance policies, the contract. Just so we're clear, there's two parts here, right? There's the tool that we use to implement the process, so there's the process of banking which has been around since the beginning of time. And then there's dividend paying whole life insurance contracts that have been around for well over 170 years in Canada and north of 200 years in the United States. So the companies that we use have never failed to produce a profit or pay a dividend. So it's interesting that the general public has been convinced that this is a bad place to save money. So the tool is not the process. In the early 1980s, that's when Nelson really had a problem because he was experiencing what we're experiencing today, which is interest rates were skyrocketing. So he had a problem and the solution was under his nose the whole entire time. So what he did was he already had policies in place, so he started to access money from the policies to help solve that problem that he had in the early 1980s. And he slowly started to teach some people, but he was not heavily teaching people at that time. It wasn't until the early 90s where Nelson actually started to travel across North America and meet with people like us who want to coach people to implement this process and people like you who are interested in implementing it in their own lives. To say the concept itself was discovered in the early 1980s and the policies have been around for generations.
