Short YouTube video/audio tip where Jayson Lowe advises new salespeople to prioritize building relationships: people buy people, not products or services. He emphasizes establishing like before trust before selling, doing no selling until trust exists, and 'being the buyer, not the seller'—i.e., clarify who you love to serve and accept the buyer's right to reject.

What is my number one tip to a new salesperson? People buy people. They don't buy products, they don't buy services. People buy people. It's all about relationship. It's all about understanding what the person that you're speaking with is either trying to solve what their objectives are and focusing on building relationships versus talking about features and benefits of a product or a service. Until you've established no like and trust in that order. And that is the order of things that cannot be broken. You can do zero selling until you've established trust. In addition, always being the buyer, not the seller. And I know that sounds odd if you're a salesperson, but the buyer is the party in the transaction that gets to do the rejecting, and so be very clear about who you most love to serve. And always be the buyer, not the seller.
