Hello and welcome to the Evidence Based Chiropractor. I am your host, Dr. Jeff Langme. Today we're going to talk about really three blog posts, topics, ideas, strategies that you can utilize to skyrocket the traffic to your website, which ultimately trickles down into more new patients in your front door. What we'll go through and what you'll learn are what are the three blog types that drive the most traffic? What are some real life examples of what the strategy can actually do for your practice? And I'll also be sure to tell you a where you can grab some samples to get started. Before we get started on this podcast, I'll say a few words about Rocktape. The education is top notch, the hang time is awesome, and it's just a ton of fun. So if you're looking for some continuing education or even if you're not and you just want to get the education, get the clinical knowledge and meet a bunch of cool docs, come on out to Rock Stock. I'll be there hanging out and filming. I cannot wait. You can get all the information and pick up your tickets right now@rocktape.com rockstock. But as I talked about at the top, today's episode, we're breaking down blog post topics, ideas and strategies. And the important thing to keep in mind when I say blog post, even if you don't want to right, these same strategies, these same tactics can be applied to video. They can be applied to really anything online to generate traffic and interest towards your website. So this all started for me when I was looking in, I was geeking out a little bit and I looked through some of my Google Analytics and I saw that in the first half of this year, the first half of 2019, the evidence based chiropractor had had nearly 50,000. So that kind of like stopped me in my tracks. I was like, whoa, let me dive a little bit deeper and see what's really driving that traffic. Now I know probably as you do, that blogging can Drive massive traffic to your website and help more future patients find you by improving your search engine optimization. But really, what does that look like, how does it work out, and what can you use from a practical sense to really get started? Well, when we look at, when I looked at my data, what I found was three types of blog posts that drove probably 75% of the traffic to my website. And those three types were lists, how to blogs, and health tips. So let's talk through those one at a time, break them down each one at a time, and talk about actionable steps that you can take to make this real for your practice. Because I know if you increase the traffic to your website by 2 times, 3 times, 4 times, 5 times, you will inevitably get more new patients in your front door. Because blog posts and traffic is directly correlative to SEO search engine optimization. So let's talk about this. Lists, right? That was number one, creating lists. Creating lists a great way to start blogging or to start pumping out content because it's really easy to execute and it provides tremendous value for, for the people in your audience, right? So lists can be real simple. It could be the top five supplements to take to stay healthy. It could be something of the top five snacks to eat to stay energized throughout the day. It could be the three stretches you need to know to beat back pain. Those are all lists. Your top threes, your top fives, those are lists. And it's a great way to easily, easily get started. You can probably, with the examples that I gave, you could utilize those. You probably already have a few churning in your head. So there's hundreds, if not thousands of different ways you can go with lists. But think about this from a user experience, as we say in the marketing world perspective. If somebody's typing in, this happens literally every day in your community. People type in to Google, what are the top three stretches to get rid of low back pain? Well, what if your blog post, your article was listed first? They're going to click on it. And once they do, if they see it laid out super easy, you know, they click over and they get what they asked for. Which means, you know, the three stretches are right there, super easy. You know, that makes a great user experience, number one, but it also builds trust and rapport and it gets people engaged with your practice. Now you could go a step farther and create a lead magnet, as we call it, which meant to mean there's a download associated with that. Grab that person's email and follow up. That's kind of the advanced techniques. And if you'd like to hear a podcast about that, just shoot me an email and let me know. But for today, we're going to keep it simple. Just getting people to your website dramatically increases the opportunity for them to click a button and give you a call. Right? If they are looking for answers to low back pain with stretches, they probably have low back pain. And they are going to be highly more likely to click or to call your practice if you've provided them with some of the answers. So step one would be create lists. Super easy to do. I had a list called the top five benefits of chiropractic care. You can utilize that exact list as a blog on your website. I'd highly encourage you to do so. And you can do so by clicking on the link in the show notes. So if you click on the link in the show notes over the evanspace chiropractor.com you can grab a free copy of the Top 5 Benefits of Chiropractic care. People are literally typing in that. I reverse engineered that title. People are typing in benefits of chiropractic care every day into Google by the tens of thousands. So it's happening, it's very likely happening in your community. So if you have a blog that answers that question, you're in great shape. Number two is how to blogs. How to Blogs and videos are fantastic for really the same reasons as lists. They provide tremendous value for the people in your audience. And it also helps get extra Google juice, extra SEO, because a lot of times people start searching Google by typing in how to blank. And if you are the answer to that, if your blog, your video matches that exact search query, as we call it, then you are very likely to be listed. Number one. Now, we know the top five search results in Google get over 75% of the overall traffic. So there's the old saying, you know, if you want to hide a dead body, put it on the second page of Google. Because it's just people aren't going there of it's not directly proportional, meaning the majority of clicks go to those top five results. So this could be again, this is intertwined with list. You might put how to beat low back pain in 30 days. How to stay energized throughout the day when you're working on a computer. How to make your morning commute more productive. How to. You can see exactly where I'm going with this as I start to give examples, but how to Blogs are fantastic because people are asking questions into search engines. Google is the largest one on planet Earth. So when you answer this specific query, it is much, much more likely that you are going to shoot up the search rankings and when you do that, people are going to find you, People are going to visit your website and ultimately turn into new patients. If you are answering their questions. You start to build trust and rapport and it's just a great way to build your brand long term. It's a great way to help the people in your community with a patient centric approach. And it's a great way to to interact with people, provide value and quite frankly not have to spend a ton of money on ads to get traffic. Right? When I talked about at the top of this episode, nearly 50,000 page views, I've quote unquote paid for very, very little of those. I've run a couple ads, sometimes on Facebook, but really I don't drive a ton of advertising dollars into it. A lot of it is organic, which is a great place to be because you're not reliant upon that ad spend. If you have good content, if you in or on your website, if you have good content and people are finding it, it is going to help you climb up without having to have that ad spend. Now you have the opportunity to use the ad spend at your discretion and not have to use it on as a crutch or as an absolute to get that traffic. The third blog type or post type that I'd highly recommend are health tips, right? So health tips are what we've done a great job of within the Smart chiropractor for all of our clients. With a smart chiropractor we create blogs exact created on these health tips. So whether it's evaluating a research update explaining why something matters to your audience. Right? Research that matters. As we talk about within the Smart Chiropractor, there's a million different ways you can go with health tips. I love weekly health tips so staying consistent is absolutely crucial to success. Health tip might be is my arm pain coming from my neck? That's a classic example that we utilize. A health tip might be something to do with maybe foam rolling, right? Really big in the CrossFit community. A lot of people see question about it but don't know a lot about it. So how can foam rolling, you know foam rolling your way to better health, right? Foam rolling your way to being able to run that 5k health tips regarding supplementation, nutrition certainly diving back into what you can do within chiropractic disc issues, radiculopathy issues, stenosis issues, health tips residing in the realm of how chiropractic can benefit their life if they're suffering with a certain condition is a great way to go. Within the Smart Chiropractor, we call that research that matters, right? We dig out the most highly trafficked search terms, conditions and symptoms and then we build our health tips off of the research associated with those terms. So again, we talk disc, we talk sports. Chiropractic, that's a huge search term. There's a lot of different ways you can go with that. And I'll also provide you with a free research that matters blog post. If you click that link down in the show notes, you can head over to my blog post where you can grab the free research that matters post and utilize it and really get started. I mean the biggest thing that you have to keep in mind as you start to reach out to people in your community and start to put together these things is I think you just need to step back and say how can I teach people in my community something that benefits them? What's a list that they might be interested in that'll make their life better? And what's a weekly health tip that might tie it all together? When you can focus on providing that sort of highly valuable content to the people in your community, you are going to get a lot more traffic to your website. You're going to get a lot more eyeball. I mean the evidence based chiropractor started with zero, right? It started with literally zero, just as everybody does. And now we're to the point within, we're trending. This year we'll have 100,006 figures in page views. If your website had that, there is no question that you would see more patients walk into your front door. I know a lot of docs, they struggle with the time to get that done. Those are the exact perfect person to become a member of the smart chiropractor. Because we give you all the social media posts, all the blogs, everything you need to take that, make it consistent, make it congruent, make it patient centric. That is what we do within the smart Chiropractor. I'd invite you to check that out if you want more help. But if you just wanna get started right now, click on the show notes, head over, grab some of the free tools, those free blog posts and really think about it. What are some lists that you can create? It's simple, it's easy to get started. What's a how to video or a how to blog post that you can create? And maybe what's a Health Tip. A lot of these things play in the same realm, but as you start to develop your voice, as you start to develop around these three major topics, I have no doubt that your website traffic will dramatically improve. It could double. It could triple. It could 10x or more. If you start to create consistent content around these topics, I think that could be a huge win. I know it could be a huge win for your practice. It's been a big win for my practice and with the large groups that I practiced with in the past, they were putting out blog posts each and every day. Well, they had a full marketing team to do so, but that was because they realized the importance of search. They realized the importance of not being beholden to all the advertisers, but being able to find your own voice, get content out there, speak to your ideal client, your ideal patient, answer their questions, and lo and behold, what do you know. Next thing you know they're going to be calling you, trusting you, and having that rapport where you become their physician. So I hope this was very helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to fire me an email jeffevidencebasedchiropractor.com if you're tuning in on your morning commute right now, make an action step. Commit to getting something up on your website before the end of the week. If you're listening while you're working out, great job. Look at the workout that you're doing right now. You probably have a how to tip right in with the workout that you're currently doing. So I hope you have a great week in practice and I'll talk to you soon.
