In this hour‑long live webinar, health and success coach Jennifer Dent Brown (M.S.) explains why traditional calorie‑counting diets often fail and introduces the concept of "chemicals not calories" as the missing link in the obesity epidemic. She shares her personal weight‑loss journey, outlines how industrialized food production and sedentary lifestyles have increased calorie intake while decreasing nutrient density, and debunks the diet‑and‑exercise myth that simply eating less and moving more will guarantee weight loss. The core of the presentation focuses on chemical toxicity—over 80,000 synthetic chemicals in the U.S. marketplace, many of which are lipophilic obesogens that disrupt fat metabolism, accumulate in body fat, and can cause a wide range of health issues (thyroid disease, diabetes, infertility, neurological disorders, etc.). Dent describes the symptoms of toxic overload, explains why the body’s natural detox pathways (liver, kidneys, sweat, bowel) become overwhelmed, and why burning fat can release stored toxins into the bloodstream. She then presents a practical solution: a structured, seasonal detox program (four phases over 14‑18 days, repeated quarterly) that combines clean‑eating meal plans, education on reducing environmental toxin exposure, and emotional support. The webinar also includes live Q&A about apple cider vinegar, colonics, and detox supplements, and concludes with a promotional call‑to‑action for the upcoming August 1 summer detox, detailing pricing, early‑bird discounts, and the comprehensive materials participants will receive.

See, hey guys, I am getting set up. This is Jennifer Dent, your health and success coach. If you are live right now, let me know if you can hear me okay. Always disconcerting looking at yourself on camera. It's like different from looking at yourself in the mirror. Okay, so today we're going to talk about chemicals, not calories, and I have a beautiful slide deck that I wanted to share. But right now, hey, let me know where you're from. I can see a couple people are live right now. I will— you can watch this replay later. You can watch it as many times as you want to. I have a lot of information I'm going over, so it could be a lot. But what I'm going to do is save the slide deck and post it in the replay, so you can come back to the Facebook page, you can watch the replay, or if you just don't want to hear my voice, you can open up the deck and Hey, Cherie from Louisiana, thanks for joining. You can open up the deck and just go through all of the notes and all of the slides that I have, but the ones that you can't see. So you're going to be looking at my beautiful face for the next 30 minutes or so, and let's go ahead and get this party started. All right, so As Cherie has already done, she's posted in the comments. So this is gonna be an interactive presentation. So I'm gonna be asking questions. I wanna see your feedback. So go ahead and type in your comments. Show me where you're from if you're just joining. And I can show your questions and your comments and your answers to some of the questions I have on the screen live. All right, so I hope you all are feeling great. I'm going to be glancing over at my other monitor because I have a ton of notes here that I want to make sure I get everything right for you. All right, so today we're talking about chemicals and not calories. So this is a topic that's very important to me because I, one, struggled with my weight for eons, literally just could not figure out why the weight wasn't coming off, and I was trying all these different things. And then I see the same thing in my clients, the women that come to me to want to lose weight, they're just struggling. They're like, I've tried Weight Watchers, I've tried Nutrisystem, I've tried Jenny Craig, I've tried all of these diets, and they're either successful in losing a little bit of weight, but then they gain it back, or they just flat out can't lose any weight at all. So one of the things I discovered as a health coach, that there is a missing link in the weight loss epidemic. And I'm gonna go through a lot of information today, but we're gonna talk about that missing link and we're gonna talk about what you can do if you feel that you're stuck. Okay? So again, this is an interactive presentation. Let me know where you're from. Say hello. We've got Cherie here from Louisiana. And for those of you who are new to me, I am all about efficiency. I am not going to waste your time. I know your time is important, and so I am grateful that you are here. So thank you for your time. But I'm going to get right into it because I am focused, I'm dedicated to helping you live your healthiest life. And I know that sounds so cliché, but it's like so true. It is so true. I love what I do and I love helping the women. So let's go ahead and get started. Okay, so one of the reasons why you may be joining this conversation here tonight is because your scale is stuck. You get on the scale day after day and you watch it go up a couple pounds and then you watch it go down a couple pounds. You watch it go up a couple pounds and then you watch it go down a couple pounds. Hey there, Maria from Miami, thanks for joining. Um, and so a lot of us, especially women, have this issue where it's like, okay, you're kind of like in this set point, you're in a range where your weight just kind of fluctuates between like 5 to 7 pounds, but you're really not getting your goal weight. Maybe you're 10 pounds away from your goal weight, maybe you're 20 pounds away from your goal weight, but you just seem to be stuck. And this is my personal experience for just very, very recently. I lost a bunch of weight. About right after I became a health coach, about 2014, 2015. And then I got married and then I'm not sure what happened, but we eat really, really clean and my weight jumped up and then it just, I couldn't get back down to where I was until very, very recently. So I had like this 5-pound fluctuation going on and I'm short. Right? So 5 pounds to you may not be a lot, but if you're short, you know what I mean. 5 pounds can make a huge difference. 5 pounds is like a dress size or a different pant size. So to lose 5 pounds eventually, finally was like the Holy Grail. It was like, oh, I just felt so, so, so much better. So you may have a very similar story where your scale is just stuck. And so because your scale is stuck, you probably try a myriad of things. You've probably tried a gazillion diet programs. Um, I can run down the list. I would love for you to have experience with diet programs. Type in your most recent one or your favorite one or your craziest one and let me see what you're working with here. But I know for me, I did Weight Watchers 2 or 3 times, dropped out, went back, dropped out. I know when Jennifer Hudson lost all that weight, I was like, oh, I'm going back to Weight Watchers again. I did LA Weight Loss twice. I did Jenny Craig. I did every diet book known to man. I had a ton of them that I actually finally gave away. And just was really struggling, just really couldn't get that scale to move and stay moved. Okay, so maybe there's some programs that I mentioned you have personally tried in the past. Or, so that's, that's one person, right? That's one person that might be listening. The other experience of the other person who may be listening is that You are, you understand about clean eating, you understand, so you're at the next level, right? So you are not new to dieting, but you realize that there are certain things that you need to stay away from. Maybe you watch Dr. Oz a lot, so Dr. Oz really gives a lot of good information. So maybe you have successfully weaned yourself off of sugar, maybe you have successfully given up the gluten, maybe you have successfully dumped the dairy, Maybe you have successfully eradicated the alcohol. Like my alliteration there. But you're still struggling with those last few pounds. Like the last few pounds just seem to be stuck. And people have called, okay, so Maria has been a vegan for 8 years, but not a healthy vegan all the time. And I completely understand what you mean because I have talked to vegans and I actually followed a plant-based diet for quite a few months. And although vegan sounds super healthy, there are a lot of products, processed food products for vegans that are unhealthy because they are not whole foods. They are processed. They are created to mimic some of the foods that people ate before they became a vegan. So thanks, Maria, for sharing. Maria from Miami. I appreciate that. Oh, good point. So Maria says Oreo cookies are vegan. You know, I have heard that. So there is no animal products, there's no dairy, there's nothing in Oreo cookies because Oreo cookies probably are primarily, primarily 98% chemical lab-created foods, right? Our lab-created ingredients. And so we all know that Oreo cookies are not healthy. So if you're a vegan or even a vegetarian and you're eating a lot of the fun, and even paleo, right? So the paleo diet is super popular. That focuses on a lot of animal protein, vegetables, eradicates grains and dairy, but there are like delicious paleo desserts that are high in sugar. There are a ton of Paleo products you can go into the grocery store now and buy. So just when a diet takes off, the food companies catch up. And so just like Atkins was really popular a couple years ago, you can go into the store and buy all the Atkins products and stuff. So the marketing for food is tricky. I mean, they have really, really duped us. Just really, really need to be aware. And so that is one of my roles as a health coach coach is to be an educator, and that is to really teach you all what to be looking for and what to be consuming. All right, so I told you a little bit about my story, so I can definitely relate. I always say if dieting were a drug, I would be in rehab, like seriously. I started dieting when I went to college and gained the freshman 15. Before that, I never had a weight issue, never had any I was 118 pounds when I went to college. I don't remember what size that was, but it was a small size. And then I went to college and gained the freshman 15, freshman 20, and it just went up from there. And the more that I tried to lose weight, the more weight I gained. And the more weight I gained, the worse I felt about myself. And so I was trapped in this really nasty circle of trying to lose weight and getting frustrated because the weight wasn't coming off and then trying this other program and getting really frustrated because the weight wasn't coming off and then trying something else. And just, you know, I'm sure a lot of you can probably relate. And so it wasn't until 2013 where I discovered a health coach. I never heard of a health coach. This girl wrote to me. She's like, if you've tried everything, you haven't tried this. And I was like, look, I am so ready to try anything right now to lose this freaking weight. I will do anything. So I plunked down my credit card, paid $1,400 to join her 6-week program, which literally changed my life. And I ended up becoming a health coach myself. And now here I am talking to you about the missing link of why you can't lose the weight. So I'm sharing with you what I have learned over the years. All right, so here's a question for you. I need you to fill in the blank, okay? If I could just fill in the blank, I'll be able to lose the weight. So what is your fill in the blank? If I could just stop eating sugar, then I'll be able to lose the weight. If I could just work out some more, then I'll be able to lose the weight. What is yours? If I could just stop snacking, then I will be able to lose the weight. If I could just stop drinking 3 glasses of wine every night, then I'll be able to lose the weight. So what is yours? Fill in the blank. What is your if I could just? Everyone has one, right? Everyone has one. There's always something we think we need to be doing in order for us to lose the weight. But here I'm here to tell you that your fill-in-the-blank actually may not be accurate, okay? So you are not alone. You are not alone in your weight struggle. There are people everywhere in the United States that are struggling with being overweight, struggling with diabetes, high cholesterol, and related conditions. And like me, and maybe like you, we have all tried desperately to lose this weight. We have all tried desperately to get healthier. Okay, so there's a little bit of a delay. Maria says if she could stick to her routine, she would be able to lose the weight. And I'm sure you probably have, you know, an idea of what that ideal routine is, right, Maria? So thanks for sharing again. So many of us have tried to desperately lose the weight, but many of us find that we're not actually making any progress. Progress. So freaking frustrating, right? So in the United States, 35% of the US population medically qualifies as obese. 35%. But wait, that's not it. 34%, an additional 34% of the United States population is diagnosed with just being overweight. So I'm showing Sherry's comments. She was like, sugar convenient meal. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by that, but maybe if you, maybe that's your fill in the blank, right? So if you could give up sugar, maybe you would lose the weight. So if you wanna clarify what you mean by that, Sherry, that would be great. And thanks for sharing. Going back to these statistics in the United States, and I'm sure none of this is probably new to you, 35% of the US population is medically obese, 34%, an additional 34% of the US population is overweight. So that means 70% of the US population is struggling with weight-related issues. That did not exist 30 years ago. What the? Mm-hmm. Okay, so what has changed in the past 30 years, 40 years, 50 years that we now all of a sudden have these issues? What has caused this huge surge in weight-related diseases? Hmm, good question. What has caused this huge surge in heart disease, learning disabilities, cancers? How did we end up here? How did we end up in this place? We as Americans in the United States of America are the fattest we've ever been. And then why is everyone having such a hard time losing weight? And then just can't seem to lose the weight. Why is that? What is going on? All right. So there, This is where I would show my next slide, right? So there are 3 reasons, 3, why we are the fattest country in the world. So number 1, and you probably already know this, but if you didn't, I'm glad I'm sharing this information with you now. Industrialization is the first thing that happened. That's the first problem. So industrialized foods took us Americans off of our farms. It took us out of our own gardens. See, just this a little bit. It took us out of our kitchens and left us with an extraordinary amount of edible non-food calories. Okay, so a lot of processed foods. Industrialization made eating food, convenience food, much easier, but not really good for us because we have a lot of stuff we can eat, but it's not nutritional, it's not good for our bodies. So the result is, as a nation, as the United States of America, we are eating more, we're eating way more calories because there's a 24-hour everything, 24-hour Wendy's, 24-hour McDonald's, whenever you need food, it is there for you to buy. And we're eating way more calories and way less nutrients than any other country on the planet. So we are the fattest country in the United States, or in the world. So the second reason, so industrialization is the first reason. The second reason is automation. So what does that mean? That means we sit on our butts most of the day. I have this lovely, I have an Apple Watch and I share my Apple Watch stats with a couple of people in my accountability group. And it's so funny, we always joke like that standing circle, it tracks how many hours you stand out of the day. So it wants you to stand at least 12 hours out of the day. Now, if you've never tracked how many hours you stand in a day, that's a pretty difficult thing to do. So right now I am standing because I have a standing desk, which is cool. But because we are a nation of people who sit, that is one of the reasons why we are obese. So that's the second reason why we are obese. Okay, so we sit longer, we move less. Remember when we were like, oh yeah, I'm gonna take the stairs upstairs, but now what does that mean? That means we're taking the escalator. We always fight to get the perfect parking space closest to wherever we're going into. We don't walk anymore. And we sit, we have jobs, we have desk jobs, we sit all the time. And this is one of the reasons why I purchased this lovely standing desk. It was like an investment. So those are the first two things, that we are the fattest country, or the fattest people in the world. So one, industrialization of our food system. 2, automation, we sit a lot and we eat more. And then the third thing I'm going to tell you, but wait, one thing before I go into the third one, I just wanna talk about the diet and exercise myth. Does anyone know what the diet and exercise myth is? Feel free to say yes or no in the chat. But the diet and exercise myth comes from the first two things that I mentioned, industrialization and automation, because we're eating more and we're eating less nutrient-dense foods. The diet and exercise myth basically means that that is the way that we can manage our weight, right? So we eat less food and we exercise more. And that is where we get the, oh my goodness, I gotta burn off what I ate. I gotta burn off that donut. I gotta burn off that hamburger. And there's like all these statistics in the magazines and stuff that'll tell you, oh, if you walk for 3.5 hours, you can burn off your munchkins. Or if you swim 4 laps in the pool, you can burn off your latte, mocha, chino, whatever. So that is actually not really true because I have tried. For all of you who have like, Used diet apps. Yes, exactly, Maria. Calories in, calories out, which is not exactly true. You cannot just burn off exactly the amount of calories that you eat. It doesn't work that way. Our bodies don't work that way. But that is what we've been duped to believe. That is what we've been told to believe. And so this low-calorie diet craze was created from this thinking. So you're like, all right, if I only eat 1,100 calories, then I can lose the weight. Not necessarily true. Okay. And if you've tried that before, yeah, you may lose a couple of pounds. You may lose a little bit of water weight. Is that sustainable? Heck no. Heck no. Not at all. Okay. So I'm going to go back to the third reason why we're the fattest country in the world. So do you remember the first one? Industrialization. Second one? Automation. The third one? Chemical toxicity. Yes, my dear, chemical toxicity. Something that is fairly new. The research is in its infancy, infancy, but we know that toxins in our bodies, toxins in our environment are contributing to obesity. So there has been a flood of synthetic chemicals that have been introduced into our marketplace. And this, my friend, is the missing link. So that's what we're gonna really get into today. Today. So just take a guess. Do you have any idea how many synthetic chemicals are in our food system, in our environment, in our marketplace, essentially? Just curious. How many synthetic chemicals? I'm going to take a drink of water. No guesses for those of you who are watching live? Okay, well, you think about it, but I'm going to tell you. So there are over 80,000 synthetic chemicals in the marketplace, okay? 80,000 chemicals, synthetic chemicals, which means they were made in a lab somewhere. And not only that, there are over 1,000 new chemicals. Ah, okay, thank you. Thank you, Marie, Maria. Now I figured there was a delay, but I just, I wasn't sure. The thousands, yes, thousands, 80,000. To be exact. Thanks, Maria. And there are thousands that are added each year. So before I go off on a rant with the chemicals, some of them actually have benefited us, right? Some of them are actually good chemicals. But the vast majority of these chemicals that are introduced into our food, into our environment, have not been tested for safety. And there are a ton of chemicals. And I forgot, somebody just told me the number the other day. I should have written it down. It was astounding. The number of chemicals that are banned in Europe that are allowed in America, it was like, it was more than 10,000 chemicals that are banned in Europe that we are allowed in America. Okay. Because Europe has a whole different set of testing. So they've done more extensive testing on their chemicals. And they were like, oh, hold up, some of this stuff is like not good for my people. We're going to ban them and not allow them in the environment. The US is a little bit slow. We haven't caught up with that, with them yet. So a lot of these chemicals are found in products that we use every day. I just went through an advanced toxicity course with some of my detoxers. We just finished up our 4-week course. And we talked on Monday about chemicals in our makeup, in our cosmetics, in our skincare. I know some of us are not willing to give up our MAC lipstick, but yeah, it's chemical-laden. There are chemicals in shampoos, in our dish soap, in all of our cleaning products, detergents, plastic containers like our sippy cups that we use for our kids, the Tupperware that we put our food in, that we heat our stuff up in, in the microwave. Our shower curtains. Do you know if you have a plastic shower curtain liner, when the steam heats up your bathroom, it's emitting toxic chemicals into the air and you're breathing them in every day. So if you have a plastic shower liner, get rid of it ASAP. Okay. No joke. Chemicals are in our carpet, the carpets that we walk on, our pillow. I mean, they're everywhere. They're like impossible to avoid. Unless you live in a bubble. And who do you know that lives in a bubble? Nobody. So it's impossible to avoid chemical toxicity. So can we all make the assumption that we do have some level of toxicity in our bodies? Everybody, okay? Because they're in the foods that we eat, they're on the foods that we eat, they're in the water that we drink, they're everywhere. It's in the air that we breathe. So, um, diet, exercise, and toxic overload. So that is a new term if you're not familiar with it. Toxic overload means— that means the amount of toxins that are in your body, um, contribute to all different kinds of ailments. Okay, I'm going to run down this list. It's a short list because it's not comprehensive, but there may be some things that you are suffering from that I'm going to mention. Thyroid disease, allergies, infertility, leukemia, neurological disease such as Alzheimer's, diabetes— that's a big one— behavioral problems. So you think your kid just can't sit still? Mm-mm. Maybe they are overly toxic. ADHD. And yes, mothers can pass on these toxins to their children, their unborn children. Digestive issues, cancers, okay? Low birth weight, heart disease. And of course, why we are here, weight gain and obesity. So most of my clients come to me because they wanna lose weight. They're like, I need some help. I gotta do something different. I'm gonna work with a health, health coach to help me lose the weight. And a lot of them are suffering from these ailments, and they find that when they change their diet and do some things we're gonna talk about, they start to feel better almost immediately. So here are some signs of toxic overload. So listen to this list. And maybe you'll hear yourself or your people in this list. Weight gain, of course, that is a big one. That's the obvious one. That's the one that we are most vain. That's the one we most worry about. Food allergies, anxiety, depression, mood changes. I just talked to someone today who was dealing with crazy PMS symptoms. I was like, what are you eating? She was in the line at Dunkin' Donuts getting her daily Dunkin' Donuts fix. I was like, girl, we gotta talk. Okay, so that crazy PMS is not just out of the blue, right? Digestive issues such as belly bloating, IBS, and constipation. How many of us are chronically bloated? Okay, and bloating does not mean fat, right? So a lot of people think, oh, my stomach is big, I'm just fat. Fat. There's a difference, you can tell. So bloating is a hard— your stomach is harder. So if you touch it, you can't really see what I'm doing, but if you touch your stomach, it's hard, it's not soft. Fat, however, is— I call the jelly belly. So you can pinch it, you can squeeze it, you can smoosh it around. That's when you have a jelly belly. If you have a bloated, extended stomach, you won't be able to pinch all that fat all the way around. Okay. Low energy. How many of you get tired in the afternoon? How many of you think, "Oh, I just don't sleep well. My sleep quality is really bad because I get tired every day at noon. I get tired every day at 3 o'clock." Could be toxic overload, my friend. Talked about PMS symptoms. Crazy cravings, like you just can't stop eating sweet stuff. You can't stop eating salty stuff. You can't stop eating whatever that craving is and you feel like it just has a hold of you. You can't stop drinking that wine. Toxic overload, toxic overload. Premature aging. Now I know we can go run and get fillers and we can pay a couple thousand dollars to get injections and smooth out those wrinkles, but you should not be prematurely aging because there are ways to reverse reverse the aging process if you change your diet. Yes! Such good stuff. I get so excited. Okay, so are you experiencing any of these issues right now? Then you could be suffering from toxic overload. Okay, so let's talk about something new, a new term that may be brand new to you, and this is a result of the toxic overload. Overload. It's called— I'm gonna actually type this in here— obesidens. Make sure I spell it correctly. Obese— which way is the S? Ta-da! Yeah. Obesogens, okay? So what the heck are obesogens? Like I said, this research is in its infancy, so this is a fairly new term and you may not have heard of it unless you like Dr. Oz or you're listening to me as your health coach. But obesogens are chemicals that have the ability to alter fat metabolism and promote fat retention. So because of this toxic overload in our body, and we just talked about the symptoms of toxic overload, our metabolic system has been compromised to promote fat retention. So it doesn't matter how much you work out, doesn't matter how much or how less you're eating, and you still can't lose that fat, still can't lose that belly fat. That is obesogens in effect. Okay, we do know, like I said, this is kind of new research, but we, like, in the past 10 years, but we do know conclusively that toxins contribute to obesity and our battle of the bulge. So right now, as of today, July 19th, 2017, there are 20 chemicals that are known obesogens, and there's been research that has been done on these chemicals, and I have a list of them here. Half of them I can't see. You know, I will put them in the— I think I did have them in the slide deck, but yeah, there are 20 chemicals that are known obesogens. And actually, I did do a Facebook Live training about 3 weeks ago called Your Diet and Depression, and I talked extensively about one of those obesogens, glycinate. So I want you to go back and listen to that if you haven't. All right, so take that down. Okay, so there's more. I know this is getting a little negative and this is not happy-go-lucky stuff, but there is a bright side to this story. Because there is a solution. But there's one more thing I want to share with you. A number of these chemicals— remember, there are over 80,000 synthetic chemicals in our marketplace in the United States of America, okay? And over 1,000 are being added every year. But a number of these chemicals are known as lipophilic. I'm going to type that in there so you can see the lipophilic. That means they are fat-loving, water-soluble. These fat-soluble and fat-loving toxins build up in your fatty tissues where they sit. The more fat you have on your body, the more toxins can be stored there. So you're thinking, alright, if I have a lot of fat on my body and I'm trying to get rid of the toxins, well, let me work out some more, and burn off the fat so I can get rid of the toxins. Doesn't exactly work that way. I mean, that does sound like it would make sense, but as you burn off the body fat, the toxins that are there don't get burned along with it because they're not a source of energy, right? You're able to burn fat because it's ultimately a source of energy. Instead, these toxins are released into your bloodstream where they are able to travel around your body causing more damage to other areas of your body. Okay, isn't that crazy? So if you've known anyone who has gone through gastric bypass surgery and they were like super sick right after the surgery, do you know what that means? That means that those toxins, they lost the fat, but those toxins are now floating around their bodies. So this is why people get super sick after having a fat reduction surgery like that. So unless those chemical toxins are properly removed from our body, they will continue to concentrate in your remaining body fat and they will continue to travel. Throughout your body, causing all different, all different types of chronic ailments. And we talked about some of them earlier. Okay, anybody has any questions, go ahead and ask. Okay, so I'm just going through my notes, making sure I don't miss anything. Talked about diet, exercise, obesogens, fatty liver. Oh, okay, yes, so I've talked about this plenty of times. Our bodies, our natural bodies, our natural bodies. Our bodies have a natural detoxifying system, right? And that's our liver and our gallbladder. So our liver is actually processing, processing these toxins and pushes them out of our body through our urine and through sweat and through bowel movements. However, when our bodies are toxically overloaded, our liver gets overloaded. And I have a picture here that you cannot see, of a normal liver and a fatty liver. So if your liver function is compromised, then you can't actually detox all of the toxins that are coming into your body, and then you have toxic overload, and then you have all those symptoms and things that we talked about before. Okay, so what can you do? All right, I've been the bearer of this bad news. Hopefully you feel enlightened and you feel educated and you feel like you need to make a change, maybe with you, maybe with people in your household. But what can you do? Because we can't live in a bubble. We all are exposed to toxins. What can we do to decrease our toxic load? Okay, number one, you can stop the flow of toxins coming into your body, right? Which is very difficult because we're in this world that we live in. But you can reduce the amount of toxins that you are exposed to. In your household, with the makeup you put on your skin, with your skincare products, with your cleaning products, where you get your clothes dry cleaned, like there's a lot of different things. Oh, do you have a question? Hey, Miss Diana, the heart and liver are affected, right? Yes, your heart and your liver, well, your liver definitely is affected because if your body is overloaded with toxins, your liver cannot actually process all the toxins, And yes, your heart can be affected if those toxins that are not attached to other fatty, fatty tissues in your body that are floating around in your bloodstream. Yeah, they can definitely go to your heart and affect your heart. And if you have a pre-existing condition, being toxic does not help at all. So great question, thanks for asking. The second thing we can do is remove the existing toxins with a prescript— with prescriptive clean eating multiple times a year, and that's my thing, right? That's my thing. We call it seasonal detoxing. Annie has a great question, thanks for asking. She says, how often should you detox? I am glad you asked that question because I was just about to get into it, and you have a beautiful smile. Smile there, Annie. 4 times, so seasonal detoxing is what I prescribe, and this is what I teach, this is what I follow, and this is what I do. So 4 times a year, once a season, you should do a 2-week detox, and I will get into exactly what that is. So if you have any questions specifically, get them ready. And the third thing you can do is to eliminate environmental toxins. Toxins as much as possible. So we talked a little bit about that in my Advanced Detox Group. We talked about changing our skincare products, we all swapped out our cooking utensils, we got rid of the old scratchy nonstick pans, we got rid of all of our Tupperware. So there are things you can definitely do to eliminate environmental toxins as much as possible. All right. So we're going to talk a little bit about seasonal detoxing. So that is my thing and the reason why I'm doing this webinar. Oh, Miss Diane has another question. Hey, colonics. Oh, colonics. Okay, so here's people, some people love colonics. Here's my take on it. I don't prescribe colonics. I've had one done, that's it. I've tried it and I was like, I actually really wasn't that clogged up according to her. She said I look pretty— my colon looked pretty good, I guess because I eat pretty well. Colonics are not natural, so for some people, um, they may cause a relaxed, um, mechanism to excrete the feces from your body, um, and so you are unable to go on your own naturally. Uh, same thing with laxatives. So people who take a lot of laxatives to be able to go to the bathroom, it, it relaxes your muscles, your rectal muscles. So I'm thinking of, um, and so you are unable to naturally get rid of those toxins the way your body was meant to. So I personally don't prescribe colonics, and I just don't. So that is the answer to that, to that question. Okay, so we're going to talk about seasonal detoxing, and the reason why I'm doing this educational training today is because I am promoting, facilitating in my upcoming seasonal detox for for summer beginning August 1st. Now you're probably like, okay, August, summer's almost over. You can detox at any point during the season. So we had a detox in the spring, a group of women went through, and now we're doing the summer one August 1st. So if you are— I wish I could show you my slides. So I'm going to type this in here. If you're interested in going through a seasonal detox, put that there, you can visit jenniferdent.com/summerdetox. Oh, Dawn has a great question. She says, what is your, hey Dawn, thanks for joining. What is your opinion on apple cider vinegar? Love it. And yep, I got your typo. Love apple cider vinegar. And we definitely use apple cider vinegar during all of the detoxes. So one of the things that I drink every morning, and my detoxers have learned to drink every morning, is what we call our lemon elixir. And it is simply 8 ounces of room temperature water, 8 to 12 ounces of room temperature water, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 lemon, the juice of 1 lemon. Or 2 tablespoons of organic lemon juice. And he drinks it every morning. So apple cider vinegar is great for your liver, it's great for a ton of things. Now interestingly enough, if you cannot stomach apple cider vinegar, that is a clear indicator that you are suffering from toxic overload. Because if it's burning, like there was a point where I couldn't even like smell apple cider vinegar. It used to just like make me nauseous. And now I'm drinking like, like no problem. But if you find that you are, you can't drink the apple cider vinegar, it's because you're super toxic and your body is the toxicity. Your body is reacting to the toxicity that the apple cider vinegar is affecting. So there are ways to get used to the apple cider vinegar, and that one is to detox. And 2, you can add more water and drink, drink more water and less apple cider vinegar. That definitely is one of the things that I teach in the detox. So, see, okay, I want to go back and talk about the seasonal detox that we're Starbell, that I'm doing in August. It's a group program beginning August 1st. It's 14 days, 3 phases. Now, what is different about this particular— I detoxed. Oh, you have another question from Dawn. I'm gonna answer your question. Hold that question, Dawn. I'm just gonna finish talking about the detox and the difference of what the detox is. Is. Okay, so some people hear the word detox, they freak out, they're like, oh my God, I don't want to detox because I'm going to be on the toilet or I'm not going to be able to eat. You know, Beyoncé made the lemonade cleanse really popular back in the day where she just drank water, apple cider vinegar, and maple syrup for like 2 weeks or something crazy like that. This is not that. Okay, I don't believe in extreme diets. I don't believe in pills, like shakes, or anything crazy gimmicky to cleanse your body. I've done that. Been there, done that. It is hard and it's not sustainable. What I am teaching you now is sustainable. This is something that you can do forever. The girls, the women that went through the spring detox, we still have a Facebook group. They're still eating the same food because it was good. It was delicious and they felt so great. So they have the tools, they have the knowledge, they have exactly what they need to do to go back and to feel really good if they get off track for whatever reason, because life happens. So this detox, it's happening August 1st. First of all, there is an early bird pricing that ends on July 22nd. So if you want to get in there, I say get in now before July 22nd. But this detox, the group detox that happens on August 1st, the beauty of this is I give you everything. There is no thinking involved. You have daily meal plans, you have over 50 recipes. So if you like, don't like avocado or you don't like cauliflower, No problem. You just don't eat those recipes. Like, don't eat the recipes with those foods, or swap out your cauliflower for like asparagus or something else that you like. Um, you— there's no— you have a shopping list. I give you everything. You have a 134-page guide essentially that teaches you exactly how to detox naturally with the foods that are available in your grocery store. If you don't live near a Whole Foods, or if your grocery store doesn't carry organic foods, then guess what? There's Amazon Fresh. Amazon has everything now. There was one girl in our last detox group, she literally ordered everything from Amazon Fresh, took a picture of it, she had like bags of stuff all over her floor, but she was good, like she had everything, she was ready to go. So you have everything that you need for this particular detox. The first 4 days of the detox, beginning August 1st, is what we call the prep period, right? So this is where we have a kickoff call, kind of sort of like this. I give you all the information that you need to know about detoxing. I mentally prepare you for what you're about to experience. And then you have 4 days to kind of like get yourself together, right? Get your kitchen in order, get your shopping list, get your food, read through your manual. There's a private Facebook group of supportive women. I'm in there all day, every day, answering questions. I'm detoxing right along with you because this is what I do. This is my lifestyle. And we have a ball in there. We had so much fun in the spring. Those girls are, they're hilarious. And they're fun. And we all went through it and we experienced everything together under my leadership. Um, so you have everything that you need. There's nothing that you are questioning about. Um, what else? Oh, oh, within the group you also have— you'll get a daily email from me every day. So you'll have like little mini assignments. Um, I explain to you exactly what's happening in your body exactly at that specific time, so there's no question. And then we talk about the email in the group together. So we're going through this together. So not only are you physically detoxing, you are also emotionally detoxing. Yes, because one of the biggest issues, or what stops people from losing weight in addition to being toxic, is their mindset, right? They think that, you know, they can't lose the weight or they can't keep it off, or like, this isn't going to work. Uh-uh, mm-mm, no, we don't think like that. You're going to learn how to flip the switch in your head. You're going to learn how to release those emotions that are making you emotionally eat. This is all part of this detox, honey. So this is stuff that you can't get from a book. This is stuff that you can't get from watching an episode of Dr. Oz. This is only stuff that comes from me, Jennifer Dent, your health and success coach. Okay, so we have the first phase, which is the prep phase. Then we have the second phase, which is 7 days, and that is the detox phase. So this is where you have, you know, exactly what to eat. There's a do eat list and there's a do not eat list, okay? And you have all of your recipes every day. You have your meal. This is what you're gonna eat for breakfast. This is what you're gonna eat for lunch. This is what you're gonna eat for dinner. These are your snacks. One of the really big things that we talked about in the group in the springtime is like, how do you cook in bulk? How do you get your family involved? How do you teach this to your kids? And so there were a bunch of moms in the group, and that was their goal, to teach this healthy eating to their children, and they were successful. So you do that for 7 days, and then there's a 7-day Phase 3, Phase 3, additional 7 days, which is the transition phase. So you've eliminated a lot of foods during 7 days. And by the way, don't get scared by the word eliminate, elimination, because first of all, the foods that you're eating are delicious. You're not even gonna miss the fact that you're not eating bread. You're not even gonna miss the fact that you're not drinking milk, okay? The foods are absolutely delicious. And if you don't believe me, go to this website and you can watch the videos of the testimonials of the women, some of the women that went through the last program were like, oh my God, I didn't know detoxing could be so delicious. Yes, dear, the food is delicious. So the fourth, the third phase is the transition phase. So this is when you start adding back in some of those foods that you eliminated during the previous week, and this is where you use your food journal. Yes, you get a food journal, forgot about that. You get a food journal, and you start noting down any discomfort, any irregularities, anything that might be different from the way you were feeling the previous week. Once you notice something, you're like, ding, ding, ding, ding, that is a food sensitivity that I have. And so now you know which foods give you the, you know, whatever your sensitivity is. You are now aware of that. So that is a 3. And for those of you who are really good at math, that's not just 14 days, it's actually 18 days, right? So the first 4 days, the Phase 1, is optional, but I, I included it as part of the detox because everybody needs to go through the prep phase. It's just, it's just really, really important. Okay, so go to jenniferdent.com for www.juliecoraccio.com/summerdetox to sign up through July 22nd. Early bird pricing is just $97. After that, it's $147. So you will be saving $50 if you sign up by Saturday. Now, for those of you who are like, oh my God, $97, are you serious? For 2 weeks? Seriously? Seriously, you spend more than that on your hair and your nails every month. You spend more on— you could spend more on prescriptions. So I did a podcast yesterday and I went in, I went in because if you were on any type of prescription medication and just say for instance you're on one prescription, it costs so much more money for you to be than it does for you to be healthy. So do you want to put out $97 now, or do you want to put out a ton of money later? So just say, for instance, and I use this example because women in their 40s, my circle of people, my circle of friends, a few of them are on these prescription medications for high blood pressure or cholesterol. So just say you have really good insurance and your copay is $10. Your life expectancy is, is to 80. So just say, you know, that's 40 years of taking just one medication, $10 a month. You know, it's almost $10,000 you're spending on just that one prescription. But I can guarantee you, if you're taking one prescription over a period of time for years, you're going to experience side effects from that one prescription. And guess what your doctor is going to do? He's going to give you another prescription, and then you're going to get another prescription to to manage all of those side effects because prescriptions don't actually cure you, they just manage your symptoms. So the more symptoms you have, the more prescriptions you will get and your body will start to break down. So what I'm saying is if you're on, you know, multiple prescriptions every month, you're paying for those prescriptions, you're paying for all those copays because you got to go see your doctor, you're missing work because you've got to take time off to go see your doctor, you're like losing your vacation time because you're using that to go to the doctor, that's money out of your pocket. And then God forbid you actually have to stay in the hospital, then you'll have hospital bills for tens of thousands of dollars. And so for those of you who are like, $97, oh my God, I can't pay $97 to learn how to eat healthy. Seriously? Seriously? That's what I say to you. Seriously? How much is your health worth? Okay? If you don't have your health, you have nothing. You may be working your job and you may have 4 weeks vacation every year, but if you're sick and you can't go anywhere, what's the point? What's the point of having all that vacation time? Okay, so that was like my soapbox. I can go on and on and on and on about how we spend our money, right? But if you truly want to be healthy, and for those of you who are still listening right now, then there is something about what I'm saying that is resonating with you. Okay, so I have a couple of questions coming in. I'm going to answer Dawn's question first about pill form for apple cider vinegar. You know, Dawn, I have not tried the pill. I know they do make the pill in powder form for people who can't, you know, smell it or ingest it. I don't know, really know much about the pill. You just have to make sure it's a good supplier and it's actually freeze-dried apple cider vinegar and not like, it doesn't contain something else in that pill, in that capsule. So if you have any experience with it, I'd love to hear it, but I don't have any experience. I always just use a liquid form. Bragg's is my apple cider vinegar of choice. Okay, thanks for your question. And Sherry's asking about the detox pill, are they good? Well, Sherry, seeing as though that I have tried detox cleanses and the like and pills and all that stuff, you're welcome, Dawn. They are effective to a point, but they are not going to affect you as much as a whole foods detox. Detox will. Okay, so one thing with pills, you don't know exactly what's in the pill because the FDA does not regulate supplements. So there could be a number of stuff in there that you don't really know. And I have done the detox pill and I didn't really feel much of a difference. I didn't until I did the whole food detox and there's like a huge apparent difference. Not only do you lose weight, that's just a nice side effect. You just feel better. Your mood is lifted. You just feel so much better because you are flooding your body with like real food nutrients. And that's what God created these foods for. God created them to, to provide nutrients to our body so we can thrive. Okay, so we can thrive. Thrive and be alive. So God didn't create detox pills, okay? That's, that's my answer for that. So, Sherry, thank you for your question. All right, you're welcome, Dawn. Are there any other questions? You want to put Summer Detox back up? JenniferDent.com Summer Detox. I wish I totally wish I could show my screen right now. Yeah, I didn't see any other questions. So, oh my gosh, I can't believe that's been an hour. We've been online for an hour. Thank you guys for hanging in there with me. It's so exciting. But yeah, I am super excited about the Summer Detox beginning August 1st. Again, early bird pricing ends on July 22nd. I extended it for a little bit. Hey, there's my cousin. Hey, Sonia, I want to see you in the detox, honey. Gosh, every time I do that, it disappears. I am so passionate about this seasonal detoxing. So the spring detox, like I said, you can go to jenniferdent.com/summerdetox, watch the videos of some of the participants, their experience of like where they were when they started and where they were afterwards. I love Rosetta's video where she's just like, the food is so good. And then there's some comments in there of what they were talking about in the group of what they were experiencing when they ate the food. Curry. I mean, I'm not going to go through all the recipes and everything that's in there, but the The food literally is delicious. Like you will be like, dang, really? I can eat this every day? Yes. And the great thing about it is as you're eating and learning and eating these new foods, I am teaching you exactly what these foods are doing for your body, right? So it's one thing to pop a pill and not really understand what's in the pill and not really understand what it's doing to your body. Do you all know what ashwagandha is? No, but somebody told you that you need to take it because it's good for you, right? But do you know what ashwagandha is? It's a supplement. It's a natural supplement, an herbal supplement, um, and it is really good for you. But a lot of times we just listen to the marketing and we don't really understand exactly what we're consuming and what we're eating. And so that's where I come in as your health and success coach, because I am teaching you. I need you to learn I need you to learn so you can be the light and share your light and your experience with other people, because I am so passionate about helping our women, helping our people, helping our culture lose the weight. Educate yourself about what should be in your kitchen. How should you be storing your foods? How should you be cooking your foods? Do you have a nonstick skillet in your cabinet? Did you use one today? Should you be using a nonstick skillet? These are the things that you need to know. Do you have a plastic liner in your shower? These are the things that you need to know. Okay? And these are the things that I am telling you. So I could go on and on and on and on, on my soapbox, but I want you to join the August Detox Me Summer 2017, the summer edition. Okay, you get, like I said, 137 pages of materials and things. I will walk you through every page. I walk you through every step. There's nothing that you need to think about. There's nothing that you need to be scared of. There's nothing that you need to worry about. You're getting— this is worth so much more than $97. This is literally saving your life. This could literally be saving your life. Especially if you're in that 40-ish range. And I did this podcast yesterday where I'm like, look, my sisters, when you're 40s, you have taken your health for granted in your 20s and your 30s. Now all of a sudden your doctor wants to start prescribing you stuff, and then it's like a slippery slope. You get one prescription, you get two prescriptions, you get three. No, no, no, that is not acceptable. That is not acceptable. High blood pressure medication, not acceptable. High cholesterol medication, not acceptable for women in their 40s. No, no, no, no. You need to follow this plan. You need to detox. You need to learn how to eat. You need to teach your kids how to eat like this. You need to help them be healthy. Okay, I have a picture in the slide deck that I will post later. But it was a cover of Newsweek, and it was this cute little chubby baby holding a large size of McDonald's fries, and he's saying, "I'm going to be 300 pounds when I get older." How sad is that? If you're still taking your kids to Chick-fil-A, you need to learn what not to eat, okay? You need to learn for the sake of their health and your health. Alright, I'm just going to get off my soapbox now. So if you guys don't have any other questions, thank you so much for hanging out with me for an hour. If you have questions, you can type them in here later. I will answer them. Excuse me. I'm going to post the slides so you can go through and see all my pretty pictures. And I want to see everybody signed up. Remember, early bird pricing. Ends on July 22nd. I wouldn't even wait till July 22nd because you're going to forget. You're going to be like, oh, on Sunday you're going to be like, oh dang, did I miss the early bird pricing? Yeah, you're going to miss it on Sundays. Saturday is the last day. $97 to get in right now. You will immediately, as soon as you pay, you will immediately get all of your materials so you can start going through all your stuff now. You can actually, now this is a new thing I have, you can actually order a printed copy of all your materials if you don't wanna look at stuff online. Yes, I make it so easy for you. I make it so easy for you. You have everything. All right, early bird pricing ends July 22nd, which is Saturday. Go to jenniferdent.com/summerdetox to pay $97. After that, it is $147. And that is it. I'm out. Thank you all for, for hanging out. Talk to you soon. Bye!
