Hey, LuxeLifer! It is happening! Enrollment into my life-changing lifestyle membership, Stop Dieting Forever, officially opens on Halloween, October 31st, after the delivery of my free 3-part video series, Holiday Help, which will begin on Monday, October 24th. Now the holiday season is quickly approaching and your concerns about holiday weight gain are quickly growing. I hear you. Y'all have been sending me what you struggle with during the holiday season, and I know the struggle. Every response that I get, I'm like, mm-hmm, yep, been there, mm-hmm, yep, understand. So I am here to help you. I want to teach you what I have learned about navigating the holiday season without gaining weight. Now I just want to tell you right now, losing weight isn't something that you give up on just because the date on the calendar changes. Come on, y'all. Stop Dieting Forever is designed to teach you how to create a lifestyle that results in weight loss no matter what time of year it is. Got that? Because when you focus on changing your habits You can't help but to continue to lose weight no matter whether it's November, December, January, or July. It doesn't matter. And if you can't wrap your head around not eating your favorite seasonal pies or sipping on a bubbly cocktail at every social gathering during the holiday season, you will be pleasantly surprised to learn inside Stop Dieting Forever that weight loss doesn't mean excluding the foods that you love. It actually means enjoying what you want, but doing so with intention. Y'all, traditional diets don't teach you how to eat with intention. They just teach you how to make quote-unquote healthier versions of your favorite foods. I have to tell you, one year I tried to make cauliflower mac and cheese for my family's Christmas dinner, and the Dent family was not having it. My mother gave me that look like, didn't I raise you better than this? So I know it sounds counterintuitive to eat what you want and still be able to lose weight, but we know the alternative doesn't work, right? Cutting out all the things that you love to eat. So why not approach your favorite holiday foods differently this season? I've been teaching this approach to holiday weight loss and eating for years, and every year my clients are wowed and amazed Now, it's your year to be wowed and amazed because I want you to learn how to experience the holiday season in the way that I do, in the way that my clients do. So inside Stop Dieting Forever, you will learn my game-changing weight loss process, which will solve 3 main holiday problems for you. The first one is how to enjoy your holiday dinners without being fearful that you're going to overeat. And not just at dinner, in the days after the holiday too. It's going to help you solve the problem of how to politely decline foods that you know you don't want to eat, but you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so you end up eating it anyway. And it's also going to help you figure out how to not give up on yourself and just give in to laying around and eating whatever you want during the holiday break. Remember, Weight loss doesn't have to stop just because the date on the calendar changes. So as a member of Stop Dieting Forever, I will give you all the tools. I will teach you the mindset practices to help you enjoy your family and your friends more than the food. And I will teach you how to stay committed to your goals no matter what. So instead of lamenting about all of your bad choices come January 1st, you will for the very first time be damn proud of yourself so you can start the new year off with amazing new energy. I have to be honest with you, this is the most transformational weight loss program available on the internet today, and it is specifically designed to help the woman who is fed up with trying to depend on sheer willpower just to lose weight and keep it off. That is exhausting. So my promise to you is that you will lose at least 10 pounds in 90 days, or I will give you your money back. Yes, I will give you your money back. That is how confident I am that my process will work when you follow it. But hey, don't take my word for it. I want you to listen to my client Angie. What if it were possible to achieve your goal weight and stay there permanently without dieting? Welcome to the Stop Dieting Forever podcast, where you will discover the key components that most diets won't tell you because They want you to keep coming back. Not here. This is your last stop on the weight loss struggle bus. I am your host, Jennifer Dent-Brown, life and weight loss coach, and I am going to show you how to stop dieting forever. Let's jump into today's episode. Hey, Luxx Life-er, welcome to another episode of the Stop Dieting Forever podcast. If you're new, welcome. Happy to meet you. I am Jennifer Dent-Brown. I am your certified life and weight loss coach from JenniferDent.com, where I teach you how to navigate the holidays with control. Now, a few weeks ago, I sent out a survey and I asked you guys, what were your biggest fears? Like, what were you most worried about over the holiday season. And quite a few of you responded that you were worried about losing control— not working out, eating too many sweets, sitting on the couch and not doing anything. I think somebody used the term backsliding. So I wanted to talk about how you can feel in control this holiday season. But first, I want to just— dissect why you feel out of control during the holiday season. Because if your primary thought is, I don't want to lose control, like, how does that make you feel when you think, I don't want to lose control this holiday season? It probably makes you feel a little fearful, maybe worried. And when you're existing, when you're moving through or navigating through your holiday season with fear and with worry, you're probably not thinking at your highest, right? You're probably not thinking and making decisions from your highest place, thinking about your health, thinking about what's best for your body, what's going to give you the most energy. When you're operating from fear and worry, you do things like you stop going to the gym, you stop working out because you rather sit on the couch and watch Hallmark Christmas movies, right? You start snacking. You start picking at the sweets that are just sitting around on the kitchen counter. And you go out to eat, and you don't plan ahead, and you don't think about what you're going to eat when you go out to the restaurant. And you drink a lot of cocktails and a lot of wine because everyone else is drinking it. And you say yes to everything that is offered to you, everything from the Christmas cookies that your coworker's daughter made, to the jalapeño cornbread stuffing that your sister-in-law makes, right? You say yes to everything that is offered to you. You procrastinate making any type of plan to sleep more, eat better, move a little bit more. And like I said, you sit around and you watch Hallmark movies, you drink hot chocolate. You may put a little liquor in there, a little rum chata, or a little Kahlua into your hot chocolate, right? So when you're operating through the holiday season feeling worried and fearful because you have this thought, I don't want to lose control, what actually is happening when all this is going on? You actually have lost control, right? And actually, I just want to point out, you probably never had control in the first place. Because you were thinking the whole time, "I don't want to lose control. I don't want to lose control." And if this is happening every single holiday season, you're beginning to just— not even beginning, you have trained your brain to believe that the holidays mean, "I lose control. And when I lose control, that means I overeat, I don't exercise, I overdrink, and I gain weight." And so, of course, you feel fearful. You are worried because this has been your story. Story in past holiday seasons, past Christmas, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, New Year's, all the things that happen at the end of the year. But let me just remind you, what you focus on grows. And we always seem to focus on what we don't want, right? You don't want to lose control. But what do you want? Have you asked yourself that question? How do you want to experience the holiday season? So I want you to ask yourself that question right now. Hey, me, how do I want to experience this holiday season? I know I don't want to feel out of control, but how do I want to feel? How do I want to experience the end of the year, the last couple of weeks of this year? And if I may guess, you probably want to feel in control, right? But if you don't have a solid plan for the holidays, what are you going to be in control of? Your brain is always going to want to default back to what it knows. And what it knows is how to worry about wanting to not lose control, right? I don't want to lose control is a very common sneaky self-sabotaging thought. So you are not alone with that. Like I said, there was more than one person that responded their biggest worry was not wanting to lose control. And so I don't want you to experience this holiday season feeling fearful or worrying about weight gain. And the way that you experience the holiday season not feeling fearful and not worrying about weight gain is that you need to have a plan. Your brain likes clarity. Your brain wants to know what's happening. So just know you have not lost control. Of what you put into your mouth just because the calendar changes, just because we have moved into the holiday season. You haven't lost control of that. You haven't lost control of your healthy habits that you worked on so hard over the summertime. The only thing that you've lost control of is your mindset. If you keep believing, I don't want to lose control over the holiday season, you believe that you're going to lose your ever-loving mind because Hallmark Christmas movies are on all day. You believe that you're going to lose control over your ability to say, no thank you, I will eat later, just because all of a sudden Trader Joe's is selling its famous holiday chocolate peppermint bark. As long as you continue to believe these things, that you don't have control, you're continuing to give your power away, my friend. And so yes, you will lose control when you're confronted with your holiday traditions. But I don't want you to beat yourself up if this is how you've been approaching the holiday season. I want to help you change how you experience the holiday season. So we're just going to toss this thought, "I don't want to lose control," right? We're going to focus on how we do want to experience the holiday season. And the way that you do that is very simple. You just decide ahead of time how you want to feel in the new year. You decide ahead of time how you want to feel physically and emotionally when you wake up on January 2nd. Decide that today. Write it down and find a way to hold yourself accountable to that feeling, to that decision, right? Create the vision and make it plain. That is biblical wisdom. And as you create the vision, make it plain, write it down, find a way to keep yourself accountable, you're creating this clarity in your mind, right? And I don't want you to just write it down and like never look at it again. I want you to write it down and revisit it constantly because you're going to have to remember as you're going through the last few weeks of this year, oh yeah, this is what I'm working towards on January 2nd. And you're going to work on making decisions that align with that feeling, that decision that you've made today. And as you do this every single day, you're going to spend the last months of this year working towards that vision. You're disrupting your old ways of thinking when it comes to the holidays. We are rewriting that belief that, oh, the holidays means I lose control. No, you're going to learn how to be more intentional and less emotional with the seasonal treats, with the candy, with the holiday food, with the holiday drinks, because you're going to start making daily decisions from this vision that you've created for yourself. Like, hey, this is what I'm working towards on January 2nd, right? This decision that you're making today is from the brain of your 2.0 self. Not from your current 1.0 self, but from the version 2.0 of yourself, the one that is waking up on January 2nd and feeling in control. So yes, you can enjoy your favorite foods. You can enjoy your sister-in-law's jalapeño cornbread stuffing. You can enjoy your peppermint chocolate bark from Trader Joe's. You can enjoy your coworker's daughter's Christmas cookies or brownies or whatever it is. You can enjoy those favorite foods that you love this time of year, but you're going to learn how to enjoy them in a completely different way. Not just because somebody says, hey, you want to eat this? Hey, here you go. That's an emotional decision to eat. You're going to learn how to eat with intention because you're making a decision that aligns with your goal of how you want to feel when you wake up on January 2nd, right? When you can eat with intention more often during the holiday season, you're more likely to enjoy the holiday season and not worry about weight gain. Okay, I teach you exactly how to do this when you create your own Have It All holiday plan inside of Stop Dieting Forever. It's a workshop that I deliver every single holiday season, and I walk you through how to create your Have It All holiday plan. So before we go, I want to share this very special testimonial from a current Stop Dieting Forever member, Tanya. Tanya talks about how she used to get excited when she saw a new Weight Watchers commercial because she thought that was going to be the thing to solve her weight issues.
Nope.
So once she joined and learned the Stop Dieting Forever process, not only did she achieve her forever weight by losing 30 pounds, But she's also living her healthiest life. And she's going to talk about how this isn't a diet, how it really is a lifestyle. So listen to Tanya right now.
Before joining Luxx Life, I was constantly looking for the next best thing and getting excited when I saw the Weight Watchers commercials. And I would always join and rejoin. I had a lot of drama about the scale, and the scale determined how I felt during the day, how my day went. And I thought a lot about if I weighed a certain thing, that that meant something about me, that I was a failure, that I would never be able to get to my goal weight. The result that I have gotten from following the process is finally getting to my goal weight. And also, I don't have any drama about the scale anymore. It's just a part of my data. And I jump on every morning, no drama. I learned when the program that it's okay to even take my scale with me on vacation. And I gained a better mindset. And the process not only helped me with my weight loss, It also helped me in my daily life. I know that it's my thoughts, not my actions, that can help me change my life. And little bits help as long as you don't quit. I think that's the best thing that I got from SDF is that I don't quit anymore. I'm not a quitter. I might fall off here and there, but we have a supportive community. So even when things get hard, I might take a little break, but Jennifer's always there for us. So I always go back and I always get stuff from Jennifer and just the community of ladies. I think that SDF is different than a diet because it's a lifestyle and it's just not only about the food, it's about life and how you manage your mind to get the things that that you desire in your life. And I learned that it's just not really all about weight loss. And in fact, I think that I thought that when I lost weight, my life was going to be different. But I realized that over there is not better than here, and there's always going to be something to learn. So I would say that's the biggest takeaway for me, that it's just a part of my lifestyle and it's, it's a huge part of my lifestyle and I always— I think I said before— can go back to the group. And Jennifer, as a coach, she has helped me not only with my weight loss, but I think I found that losing weight is just not all about the food. It's really about your mind. So she has coached me during the group on work situations, my time, just all the things. So I would say that's the The biggest thing that I got from it, I no longer get excited when the new Weight Watchers commercials come on. I might have mind drama every now and then, but I feel like I can always go back to the process. And as long as Jennifer has the Community, I will definitely be, be a part of it.
