In this segment of the Stop Dieting Forever podcast, Jennifer Dent‑Brown shares a personal "eff it" (F‑it) strategy she uses to overcome moments of resistance to exercising, especially after missing a scheduled workout due to illness. She explains that her strategy hinges on a concrete anchor thought written on a Post‑it note placed on her bathroom mirror, which she reads during her two‑minute morning tooth‑brushing routine. The note reminds her that her "Million Dollar Self" does not make excuses and follows through on commitments. By invoking this cue, she motivates herself to get to the gym at 8 AM, complete a strength‑training class, and feel accomplished. Jennifer also directs listeners to episode 191 of the podcast, where she discusses the broader concept of "eff it" moments, how to bounce back from them, and encourages listeners to develop their own effort strategies. The episode is promoted as the most recent installment of the Stop Dieting Forever series, available on major podcast platforms.

Do you have an eff it strategy? A strategy that you can depend on when you have those eff it moments when you're like, I don't want to do what I said I was gonna do to lose weight. Well, let me tell you about my own eff it strategy that I used today and it worked beautifully. So first of all, make sure you go listen to episode 191 where I talk about how to bounce back from those F it moments, and I talk exactly, and I tell you exactly what an F it strategy is. But let me tell you how I had to use mine today. I have my F it strategy because my F it moments come when it's time to work out. I am not one of those people that jumps out of bed and like, ah, I gotta move my body, I gotta work out. Yeah, no, that's not me. It's always been a very concerted effort with my brain to get myself to work out consistently. And I had to take last Saturday off. Usually on Saturdays I like to go do a strength training class, and I had to take Saturday off last week because I was sick. I was not feeling well, and I had to let my body heal. And like, one week it just throws you off. So today I had it on my calendar, and I was like, you know, I do have a lot of work I want to catch up on. I could be just do this this morning, and and not break my stride, but I had to go and use my F-IT strategy because my bratty brain was like, you know, you could just skip it, you could go tomorrow, you could do it later, you can get back on track later. So my F-IT strategy is simple. It literally is my anchor thought on a Post-it note, and this is the thought that gets me out of my I don't wanna do it, I can do it like it doesn't matter if I skip this one time, it gets me out of that mode. I'm gonna show you exactly what it is right now. Yep, it's a Post-it note on my bathroom mirror to remind me when I'm brushing my teeth in the morning for 2 minutes, we call this our 2-minute toothbrush time, that my Million Dollar Self doesn't make excuses and she follows through on what she says she's going to do. So that is my effort strategy that got me out of the door at 8 AM this morning to the gym, did my strength training workout, and now I feel amazing. Yay me! I want you to go listen to episode 191 and you can hear all about how to overcome the effort moments and how to bounce back from that with your own effort strategy.
