You're gonna hear from Jeremy Newsom, how to create wealth goals to be able to accomplish the life story that you have built. Let's go.
All right. For everyone listening, full disclosure. I'm gonna be on absolute fire for the next few episodes. I'm so jacked up right now because we're on an island together. Brittany, Me and you, living the dream. Living the dream.
Recording magic. Yes, Straight magic.
Speaking of magic, what does it look like today?
Oh, my gosh. Today we are going through the other section of what I like to call your designed life plan. And it all fits on one page. You can download this tool on our website, broketowoke.com and get this amazing tool for you. Where did we get this tool? We made it up out of our butts. And this is the thing that has helped us stay true to our mission and vision. So, yes, yesterday we talked about relationships and we talked about achievements. Now we're gonna go through the category of lifestyle, health, and wealth. So we're gonna start with Jeremy. Jeremy, when you're looking at your eulogy and you understand what you want that story of your life to be, you're probably gonna need that tool called money to be able to accomplish a few of those dreams, if not all of them.
Correct? Yes.
So do we just wake up wealthy? Is that normal?
No, it's not normal.
Not normal. Not for most of us. And that hasn't really been our story. So if you're gonna just end up with this beautiful life story and you need the tool of money, then we have to create a plan. So today we're gonna be referencing pieces of our eulogy. You're gonna look there for direction, always go there when in doubt, and then you're gonna back it into, alright, if that's gonna be true at the end of my life, where do I need to be in the next five years with my wealth? Now, I know we've got some categories. What are those that people should be thinking around for goals in their wealth.
Category, specifically wealth, People should be thinking of businesses. So what type of businesses should they have? What are they going to be? What's the purpose of those businesses? What kind of cash flow do they generate? What sectors are they in? What do they focus on? So be thinking through specifically what businesses will you have and we be a part of how many will you own? Write some down, come up with an idea.
It's super fun because you can think through. How do I even make my money?
Mm.
You know, I put on mine and I don't want to jump ahead, but I put on mine that I want to be, you know, making money by creating value through developing nations. Yes, I can. I can create so many businesses that that actually becomes one of my income sources. It's always through through that versus just starting like a tire company in Nashville. You know, I want my work to be in line with my purpose. So that's an example.
Precisely, precisely. That's a really great example. After that you're going to have. And again, you can tweak and adjust these as you see fit, ladies and gentlemen. But monthly cash flow. So how much cash flow do you have coming into your life total? And if you want to go in depth on figuring out where each it's coming from, each individual cash flow stream, that's fine. The more cash flow streams, the better.
How are those coming in? In your sleep?
Yeah, yeah. So if you're sleeping, how are you making money and what are you doing with that? Then you're going to have some income sources, you're going to have savings. Here's a big one. Giving goal. So what is your giving goal? It could be again, this can be monthly, this could be annually. It's up to you. And if you want to write down who are you giving to, what organization so you can get pulled by that beautiful. And then of course, net worth. What do you want your net worth to be? And what's crazy because is people do get afraid to just write these things down because like, what if I don't hit it? Then I'm a failure. I wrote down this and I'm not this. Now, you know, it's a natural thing to be afraid of, but if you're listening to this, don't be afraid. Write down something that's a little scary, that's a little big. It's going to seem big to you right now, but let your brain sleep on it, dream on it for a few days, weeks or years, and let's see how close you can get.
You write down your why and then you surrender. The how.
Going to come to you for sure. I've seen the weirdest stuff happen, guys. It's like my life is a never ending series of miracles.
Yeah.
But I'm gonna tell you it's for me, become this process again. You're gonna be able to find that tool online so you can see this visually. But it is so powerful to be able to just write down, why do I need that net worth? Not I want to be a billionaire because it sounds cool. Well, sounds cool is probably not going to be enough to pull you into doing that work that it's going to require the dedication that it's going to require to become a billionaire. But I have to be a billionaire because I want to prove that women are capable and smart and we can create so much incredible value doing meaningful things and that we're worth more than just being sexy and la la, la, la. Like, if that's why I need a billionaire, because the world needs to see the recognition of a billionaire female, that's da da, da. There's a better reason I'm gonna overcome those obstacles versus it sounds cool. And I think that's something I want on my list.
Sure, that's a great point.
Yeah. In the lifestyle and health categories, some of the things you want to think through are, where do I want to live in five years? You know, looking at my eulogy, if it says I'm going to be developing nations, then maybe I should be living in a developing nation. Maybe, maybe, maybe I can have a base in Florida. And we use that to go live all over the world. We're going to start in the Caribbean, then move to Africa. Whatever your plan is, make sure it's on track. Versus I can only live where I grew up because that's all I know. And my parents did it and my cousins did it. That's it.
Right.
Where do you really want to be? Where do you need to be? What should your energy goal be? You know, where do you want your physical energy to feel like in five years? What do you want your health to be like? What do you want your fitness to be like? For example.
One of mine is, I want to be even more ripped and wake up with natural energy after kids than I am right now. Like. Like. So if.
Is it possible to be more ripped than you are right now, though?
I don't know.
I mean, I know we're dreaming here.
I mean, it's gonna be a tough dream. I have muscles in my feet. It's weird. It's a weird thing. I don't know what happened, but yeah, love it. Yes. So we're gonna go through how, if that's the goal, how do we actually get there from today? Because you don't just wake up. Super Ripped after kids and or more energetic the older you get. So there has to be a plan to take us there. So what are your routines? Where are you traveling? What are your travel routines? Who are you spending your time with? And that is really again, the lifestyle goal. So we're gonna jump into a real life example. Jeremy, do you want to give us. You wanna pick one of those in the wealth category and tell us what yours are?
I would love to. What I think I wanna focus on, and I'd be really excited about is the giving goal. And the giving goal is one that I've kind of highlighted because I love giving. One question I received recently from a business coach that I'm working with, a influence and sales coach is he asked me, how do you amplify where you are now to where you want to be in the next 30 days? Like, how could you absolutely do it right now? What would be the very first metric that you can track? I was like, my metric, man that I think I should track is how much I'm giving, because that's an immediate number. I can find that out instantaneously. How much am I giving away and to what causes and how much? And if I turn that dialogue, it's scary always right to everyone. Like, just give three times more than you're giving now. It's like, whoa, wait, I have to make more money to do that. But I can track that because if I'm giving more money, that means I'm probably making more. So my giving goal, in one year from now, I would like to give annually $5 million to organizations, probably pick and choose. I don't think I'll be one specific direct organization, but $5 million a year.
Do you have a filter for what kind of organizations you would be giving to?
Yes. And the filters initially, my present day filters, are the ones that have impacted my life in a big way. So, for example, United Way, right? My niece was born premature and I know you had some experience with as well. And so United Away is a company organization that spends so much time and countless energy helping premature infants stay alive. Ronald McDonald House kept my sister right, so she didn't have to go back and forth between the hospital, while Gabrielle, you know, being a pound and a half in the hospital there, was able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. So that's a big one. So one that impacted my life directly and ones that will continue to impact other people's lives directly, I think are organization. So that's one of my filters, is just to make sure that it's a mission. It's something that's a beautiful cause. It's one that's really pouring and enriching lives of others. And. And in five years, I would like to give $100 million annually.
Wait, wait, wait, wait. Did you. Where's the five million?
Five million is one year.
You're starting too soon.
Starting too soon.
So five year, we're gonna start with. So you always start at the end?
Okay, yeah. So we'll go all the way to year 20, then. Year 20. 2.3 billion.
Okay.
Right. Year 5, 100 million. Year 1. 5 million. 90 days from right now, I would like to give $500,000 between now and the next 30 days. That's scary. It's a big number. It's like, okay, well, if I want to do that 90 days from now, what do I need to stop doing right now to be able to do that? And so my stop is stop spending frivolously on things that I might not need. So go just do an itinerary check on things that I've been spending money on that I don't need. What are those things? And can I use some of that money to amplify my trading so I can use cash flow that I'm creating from trading to give more? Because I've always given very generously, and I think that those are some good goals, and those are always scary goals. But again, when you're writing these down, guys, let them be a little scary. Just a little bit. If they're not a tiny bit terrifying, then you're not dreaming big enough.
Am I allowed to give you any feedback?
Yes.
All right. So, love your goals. They're amazing. Big is in the eye of the beholder. Scary is in the eye of the beholder. So what's scary to Jeremy Newsom is not scary to Bill Gates. That is extremely, abundantly scary to Jane Doe. You know, you don't know. So perspective is everything. And compare yourselves to the people you want to be like, not the people around you. So that's one just fun thing. But instead of saying, frivolously is where I always challenge people so they're not in a cycle of guilt. Pick one thing. What are you spending money frivolously on? Give me one example.
Awesome question.
Candy bars. What? Yeah. I love Snickers.
Oh, my gosh.
I told you I love Snickers.
Good thing you didn't bring any. Here.
We are. We're checking bags now.
Yeah, yeah, Check bags for my Snickers, please.
Oh, my gosh. Okay. How much do you think you spend on Snickers?
I mean, honestly, $200 a year. I mean, it's not a lot.
All right, so, for example, what if it's coffee? If it's an aggressive amount of Snickers, if it's. Whatever the thing is, shoes. Pick one thing so that you can, when you see it and you go to buy it, you have something.
Exactly. It's a reminder. And so I want people to know it's not me buying Snickers or stopping me from donating money so that everyone's clear on that I have plenty of money.
Are you sure? Are you just saying this because we're recording it?
I Wish I bought $500,000 worth of Snickers. That would be an amazing problem. But it's one of those reminders where it's like, okay, there's something you can stop doing now that just challenges you, that pushes you a little bit out of that comfort zone. And that's an amazing reminder. Thank you.
Yes. We just want you to be specific. So the rule is, if Jeremy can't prove to me that he didn't stop doing that, he owes me a thousand bucks.
Bingo.
Again, I will put it to good use. But what does the word frivolous mean? Can you prove that that happened or didn't happen? So when you're. When you're writing your stuff down, he said the number. 2.3 billion. 2.3 billion. I think he can mark that off if that happens or not. You know, 100,000, 500,000. All these numbers, very real. But when we write goals anyway, that's just my biggest thing I've seen where people miss it.
Yeah, totally. Thank you.
If you can't prove it, then it's not a real goal.
Yeah.
Yeah. So we've already got things in here for you. We've got, you know, some tickers, like, ideas like the word giving, and then we've got the timeline. It's up to you to say if it's. Stop being so. Stop procrastinating.
I mean, that's hard to prove.
Good luck.
Yeah. Everyone procrastinates a little bit.
So it would be, wake up when my alarm goes off the first time and get out of bed within 60 seconds.
Bang. No snooze button.
Check it off.
Yeah.
Can you do that five days a week?
Can you prove to me that you did that?
Right?
Yeah. That's a phenomenal approach. I love that.
Exactly. So it's just clarity is for you to be able to have synergy, to be able to just go wild. Awesome.
Love it. All right, so in the next episode, would you like to talk about your specific lifestyle and health?
We're going to go into it.
Oh, my gosh. Are people ready for this?
No. We might have to bleep it out as well.
