I know you are aware that the words you use create the world that you live in. Would you like new words to use? Would you like to elevate your awareness to an entirely different paradigm than it is right now? Then continue listening to this episode. Let's dive in.
Sylvester Stallone, cliffhanger. He was in a film. You probably haven't seen it, but it's a really good movie. And this guy is holding on with his fingers for dear life through most of the film. That's what you just left our listeners with, by the way.
Jeremy Newsom's calling me out, and he knows I don't watch any tv.
That's okay.
He knows I watch no movies. Why? I've read the books, though. Yeah, I've read the books.
If it is a book. I don't know if cliffhanger is a book, but you left us on a cliffhanger.
I'm trying to bring. I read the books instead, instead of watching the movies. Yes, yes. We've got a cliffhanger for you. So we talked about picking your problems. I've got a little ninja trick for you, an exercise for the mind, a.
Black belt and karate.
Yes. Throughout my career, I have had some ups and downs with cash flow. Why? Because I've taken great risk. I've taken big leaps of faith. And you're a real estate developer. It's all part of the deal. And I would be so down sometimes when we were tight on cash, we've always paid our bills, thank God. But sometimes it's been a miracle. And I was like, I'm tired of it being a miracle.
So God's been really clear with me about speak only that which you want to come true. Because your words create worlds. Just like God created the world with his words, so do we. And that is so important to remember every day. You might not change today with your words, but. But you are building your future world and what's even possible for you. So be freaking careful what you're saying. It's always like, you know what? I'll take you at that and I'll one up you one. How about instead of saying, oh, my gosh, we're tight on cash again, or the closing got delayed, how about we shift this to me just saying, you know what our biggest problem, because we have so much money, we don't know what to do with it. Oh, my gosh. Hey, hey, team get together. We don't. We have way too much money. We've got to figure out what we're going to put this money into. And team's like, okay, you're still crazy. But no, we're going to change the way we talk about things. I kid you not. In less than two weeks of me starting to say that.
I got a 21 million dollar problem, I gotta figure out where to put all this money. And I'm like, what the, like, unbelievable type things that you just. You don't think about this and you're just like, boop, here's an idea you never would have thought of. Figure it out. So I did a fun exercise with my now husband. And again, he used to do all these fun exercises with me all the time as I think about them. And I was like, hey, babe, let's make a list of the kinds of problems that we want to have. And he's like, what are you talking about? And I said, no, we're going to speak what we want to come true. And so it was really fun to get to do that with my significant other. And he's like, okay, we have so much funding for the nonprofit that our problem is we can't find enough veterans to employ to go do these missions. Because that's his hardest. He loves giving opportunities to these veterans to be able to use their skills and go save people. And so we just came up with this list and we read it out loud every night before we go to bed. And it's like, those are our problems. Because I think it's natural for me to. It's easier for me to be negative. I don't know if it's just me, but it's easier for, for me to just complain than like, try to speak light, you know?
Yeah.
So if, if I can say the positive thing in a negative way. Yeah, it's working. Yeah, it's working.
That is a pro tip as a life hack that I hope everyone starts using because it does work. I'll tell you what, I don't think I do enough. And I want everyone else to start doing it more is specifically just talk more openly about the things that you do want. Very frequently we wait for the perfect time or for the perfect YouTube video or the perfect Twitter post, or I need to be on this stage in front of this person to say these things. We delay it, and then when we speak it, Brittany, we speak it. Yeah, once, two or three times.
These are things you should speak daily.
A lot of people will call them affirmations. You can call them whatever you want. Okay. The name is irrelevant. The label is irrelevant. Speak what you want into existence frequently and don't worry about the judgment. What if someone hears me? What if my wife hears me? She thinks I'm crazy. Bro, she already thinks you're crazy, all right? You've been married to her for a while, or vice versa.
She knows you're crazy.
Yes, it is. Okay. Figure out why she's not doing it with you, and figure out how to bring her into this conversation so you can speak these things together. It's more power if you're singing in a choir of abundance than by yourself. And so this is an example of having you take a moment, taking a shift in time to be that voice, to sing a song that you no longer have to sing by yourself. We have to sing praises, and that would be an example of that.
I truly feel like I love that. How many times in your life can you point back to one time you just said it out loud and then it happened? And. And while you're thinking about that, I'll share an example. Yeah, I remember my sister handed me a book, and it was.
Richard Branson's book. And she said, you should read this. You're a lot like this guy. And I'm like, all right, whatever. And then I thought his story was crazy, and he's such a fun person. And the reason I was drawn to him was he was a billionaire, but he wasn't pretentious, and I really liked that. And I hadn't met anybody really wealthy at that point that wasn't stuffy and pretentious. I didn't like that. And he's not pretentious at all. And so I said it to my family, which is a brave thing to do, depending on who your family is. I started saying, someday I'm going to meet Richard Branson, and we're going to be friends. We're not just going to meet at a conference and I get a picture with him, and they're like, yeah, right, whatever. Again, you do need to be careful who you share things with. I mean, I do not post my vision board on Instagram.
Right.
I don't do that. That's not for everybody to know. But around the right people who are truly for you will encourage you and push you to be everything you're called to be. Share it with them. I did not at this time. I shared with my family, and within three months of me saying that, I get a Facebook message from somebody I hadn't spoken to in seven years and invited me to go to his island, like, where I got to hang out with him. I got, like, at least four hours of Time getting to talk to him. Wild at 24 years old, which changed the course of the way I ran my businesses. And. And again, even got to be at the bvi. I would not be open to that had I not spoken it. So who is it that you want to meet? What do you want to embody as a person? What kind of dad do you want to be? What kind of life experience do you want to have? What kind of impact do you want to have? What do you want to own? How can you start speaking that into being until you actually believe it and figure out how to accomplish it?
Oh, hold on. Big takeaway there, folks. Don't let that word slip by. Actually believe it, okay? Because you can say things. You say things enough, eventually your brain's like, maybe this is going to happen. But I would say that is one of the only ways I can finish any of the endurance events that I participate in is because I tell my brain at the beginning, this is going to happen to completion. And I say that every single day. I'm going to finish this. I'll say it out loud when I'm doing it. I'm going to finish this. So just keep going. There's no reason to stop. I love this. I'll share that story, too. And it's a very similar story. I don't know why it is so similar. It's scary. But I was listening to a video, a specific motivational video, and I turned it up. I really liked it. And I was like, I'm going to meet this guy one day. And as you know, I got a call.
Probably a year and a half ago from you saying, hey, would you like to meet this guy?
And that guy was Billy Alsbrooks.
Dr. Billy Alsbrooks, who is here currently on island as we speak.
Yeah. And I. I'm so amazingly happy about this. I got a chance to share my gift with him as we were doing a whiteboarding session for two hours. This happened one an hour ago, where we're starting to outline his events and his promotional marketing and just what he's going to be doing in his life better than what he's doing now just because he can't. We can always better our best. But that happened, and I don't think specifically, and correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think I ever reached out to you and was like, hey, Brittany, by the way, I told a random person out loud, I've been saying, I want to meet Bill Osbrooks.
You actually haven't told me the story until Now?
Yeah.
And you've hung out with him for over three weeks separately on this island.
On this island. Right. And then now we're doing an event together, which is also something that I said that I was going to be doing out loud.
What?
Yeah.
That's a whole.
What are the odds? I have no idea what they are. Math.
But you literally got invited to the same event here and then formed a relationship like crazy. That is crazy.
So we're talking about. Those type of stories can happen to anyone's life. You have to speak it. But even before that, you probably have to realize that it's available to be spoken.
Right. Because when Brittany talked about earlier about normal. What is normal? You might not even be on the brain wavelength of figuring out how you could buy a house with no money.
Yeah, Absolutely no money.
Right. $0. You can have your own house. Okay. Me and Brittany know that's extremely normal. But how can you do that if you don't know? You don't know. You have to have the education. That's where the inner work, which was in the prior episode that we talked about, that's the inner work that needs to be done. Spending time reading the books. If you want to earn, you must learn. So what we're doing is taking this knowledge, imparting it to you, and letting you realize, ladies and gentlemen, for all our listeners out there, every single one of you have the ability to change your life, revolutionize your path by knowing what to speak out loud and not just speak it internally. How many people, random number. Throw it out there. Have told you, oh, I would do that, but I don't want to write it down. I'm scared to write it down. I don't want to take the time to write it down. It's in my head, though.
I have my vision board and my Pinterest.
It's in my head.
Cool.
Yeah, it's in my head.
This might be cheesy for you to print it out, cut it out and tape it up, but you're on my island. That's what I normally say. I know it's cheesy.
Yeah.
I don't care if it works. It works.
Yeah.
One of the more pro tips for you. I love that Les Brown says when you start to speak something, a lot of times your brain doesn't want you to be a frigging pathological liar. And so it'll immediately start to doubt that. No, that won't be true. No, it won't be true. And so Les taught me to ask yourself, is it Possible. And leave it there. Is it possible? And then if the answer is yes, you can then say, has it ever been done before? And if it hasn't, has it ever been done before in a different form? Because you can take. This is crazy. You can take something functioning in a different industry and apply it to the one you're looking to disrupt or the idea you're looking to bring into reality. The thing is, the ability to dream and allow yourself to dream might sound cheesy. I don't care. I don't know how it works. I don't know how planes really work. I really don't know how electricity truly works. I'm sure we could read about it.
But I have no idea.
I'm just gonna go with it, you know, that's what we're asking you. Just freaking go with it for yourself. We're already doing our dreams, but this is for you.
Yep.
Let yourself dream. But you do have to like work on that subconscious to let it start breaking down. These self imposed or others imposed barriers called limiting beliefs, which your wife has taught me about.
Because if you want it and you don't have it, it's because you are afraid of receiving it.
Right? Right.
Let that sink in.
And there might be a holy sounding excuse for why you did it. There is. Yeah.
Somewhere.
Yeah. You might not want to shine your light or be great like we talked about, because it makes others feel less than and you love them. You don't want to hurt them.
One of my favorite ones is, oh, I can't do that. It'll take away too much time for my family.
Your time is already away from your family when you do other things anyway, friend, like, oh, but it's gonna take more time. Well, time is abundant. Right. There's no end. Right. That's one of the things. I speak out loud all the time.
Yeah.
And I always have tons of time. I'm always available, always ready.
People say the F word and that's like the biggest excuse. Family. Yeah, family. No, shut up. You know that's an excuse.
It is.
You know that's an excuse. Well, you know, I've literally had people say, money's your God. I'm like, long does it take you to make the same amount of money that I have studied? Wealth. I learned it. And just like you learned how to play the guitar, I learned how to make money. And it can take me a week to make what? It takes you a year.
Right.
To make the same amount and to generate that. How can you create value in such amazing Ways that you can create X amount of freedoms to go do, blah, blah, blah. All this is really easy. It really is easy. People aren't taking the time to Google the right things.
Yeah, that was. That was season one when you said, if you are spending more time working for money, then by definition money is more of your God than mine. Let that sink in because that one ate me alive for months. I was like, yeah, she's right. I need to spend more time on figuring out how to make money faster so that I can spend more time with my family or I can go on mission trips, or I can fund aero recovery missions or groups, or spend time with these amazing veterans who I can pour more energy and purpose and really save their soul.
That's what I love about our relationship. I feel like I give people access to being able to have the opportunities to do this purpose work and figure out what their purpose is. It's my thing and yours is let's help fund that purpose. Now, both of us know how to accumulate wealth, but you have such a great and easy and accessible platform that's open to everybody, which is the stock market, that if you can just add this stream of income, it can help you be able to be more impactful. So it's really fun. You open up the opportunities for people that have a list of excuses based on where they live if they could have access to the stock market. You've got so many free courses, like, there's no excuse to not learn it unless you just don't want to. It's unbelievable. And there's even places that'll lend you money to trade. But for us now, we've shifted from again, barely being able to survive to being able to accumulate money, to then being able to accumulate money to be able to help more people than just ourselves and our family, to now being able to buy our time to be able to do the impact work. But why are we still working so much? And. And the answer for me is really embodied in what Elon Musk said when he was announced to be the most wealthy person in the world. Do you remember what he said in his little tweet?
Oh, weird. Back to work.
Oh, weird. Back to work.
I mean, come on, Elon. I hope you hear this. That was like the coolest thing.
Love you, dude.
Oh, my God. Gosh, why? He works a zillion hours. A zillion. He's like torn up his body. If you listen to his story. He's gone through hell and back and then back and then back. But he does it on behalf of humanity because his businesses are his vehicle in which he can change the world and live his purpose. So you could never pay him enough to do the work that he does, and you'd never have to pay him. And so that is.
One clue at what you are truly operating from that space of love and passion and purpose is, again, nobody could ever pay you enough to do all that you do, but they'd never actually have to pay you.
If that's one clue, I bet you'll share with us another clue in the next episode.
Oh, two clues in the next episode.
We'll see you there.
Stay tuned.
