All right, all right, all right. Welcome guys to the Habit Based Lifestyle Podcast. I'm your host, Jesse Ule and today we got a very special guest, Mr. Tim Holloway, who has been a great friend and we are at episode I think 5:46 or 5:47. Tim has actually been with me for all of those episodes and he's been helping with the habit based lifestyle podcast. Tim is also the creator of the money making show where he helps business owners launch, scale and build their own podcast. So Tim, I want to welcome you to the show.
Thank you, brother. Thank you, brother. I appreciate that man. Thank you for the opportunity.
Yeah. So dude, excited to have you on the show today. Let's give everybody kind of a brief just summary of what, what is the money making show.
Yeah, yeah. So man, I've been in the podcast game for like six years and you know, work for, for different companies and, and doing podcasts myself and had a, had a very passion for speaking and getting a message out, but I didn't really particularly like crowds or events and stages and stuff like that. So that led me to starting multiple podcasts that got on the new and noteworthy and were really successful and got better at the craft of speaking and engaging with people. And so that led into, wow, I'm actually pretty good at this. So that led into starting a business and that was probably like five or six years ago. And then it evolved into what it is today, the money making show where I interview influencers and people who know how to make money in business. It's basically really a powerful leadership show that, that shows us how to really scale in business and to, you know, create wealth.
Awesome man. And you know, yeah, yeah. I think the, the misconception is a podcast is just for listeners, just for awareness and I think the big Transition is you figured out a method to actually make money on leveraging a podcast. And so, you know, you kind of transition from just podcasts to now. It's like, hey, here's how we actually apply your podcast to making money. Because I think a lot of people just think, hey, I'm just supposed to shoot a bunch of episodes. But you've actually kind of figured out how to make money leveraging a podcast.
Yeah, and that's what it is. It's. It's leveraging your identity, your face, and. And getting that, know, like. And trust factor. But it's using your. Don't bring. Do a podcast and expect people to come. Bring people to the podcast. It's so different. It's the difference between, you know, inviting somebody to church or bringing the church to them. It's. It's a lot easier to. To go where people are located.
Well, hey, man, I got a win for you that I haven't talked to you about. Two weeks ago, I had a guy actually reach out to me through email. He literally reached out to me. I called him that morning, and he's like, I literally called him right after he filled out all of our stuff. He's like, hey, man, I've been a listener to your pot. I've listened to, like, four episodes of your podcast. Like, what is this system that you're helping chiropractors with? And literally three, four days later, he actually lives in San Diego, and he drove up here, you know, about an hour from there, met me at my office, and we worked out. Really cool guy. And he ended up signing up for our program. So the reason why I say that is, is, like, that's exactly what it was, is he listened to four episodes, and he signed up for our program, and it turned into a buyer, right? And he's like. I'm like, how did you hear about it? He's like, I don't know. Somebody just shared an episode with me. He's like, I started listening to it, and he's like, I started hearing that. The results you were getting with people. I started hearing some of the previous episodes, and he's like, I just wanted to find out about what you guys are doing.
That's amazing, man. And you're. You're tapping into, you know, the power of a podcast and what it could do for you. Like, so I look at my life today and, like, relationship with you, and then all kinds of different other people that have came through the podcasting world. I've been on a couple stages. People have got on Stages have connected with famous people through their pot, their message past. Like, it's just amazing what, what, what happened when people share the seat on your show and to begin to share their message. So it's a, it's really neat experience.
Yeah, man, I, I totally forgot to tell you that. So I wanted to make sure you knew that because that was, That's a huge win for you.
Yeah, that's cool, man. I love it.
Yeah. So I also want to talk a little bit, man. We actually met at an event. We won't say the actual name of the event, but I met you at an event and there were several guys there. That was kind of my first experience with you. I think that was back in 2018. I know it was back in 2018 because I lived in California and it was the first, you know, a couple months after we moved here. So talk about kind of like, what, what got you from there to where you are now, because, like, I think that's a big part of your journey and what you're doing now.
Yeah. So, man, I, I was working in a treatment center. I was helping at risk youth from Long beach, la, Compton, and just really helping, helping them get on their feet and having, having some success. But, you know, I got in partnership with somebody who was helping kids also, and he's like, hey, look at what I'm doing. And. And so I flew out and experienced. I'm like, this is a wonderful experience. And so I'm like, okay, well, you know, let's do it, you know, So I love my job in California. Move 1600 miles away for this journey that, you know, ended up being a pile of. But anyways, I, you know, I learned some marketing skills during that time. And so some situations happen where, where I won't go into too much detail because we actually had lawsuits and different stuff attached to this. But yeah, the job was over for me and my wife both together the same day. We decided to decide side with the people who were in the right into and to help them, you know, establish their. Their case sort of thing. And so we're like, oh, man, it was just a real challenging situation, but needless to say, man, we lost everything. And we had to really navigate and pivot. And so we were thrown into entrepreneurship in one day. It's like, here you go. And so it was sink or swim time and boy, our backs were against the wall. And man, we. We had some very, very difficult six months, but we were just chugging away, chopping wood and just getting new clients, getting on our feet. And with six months, I think we were at like, you know, 6, 7K and we were able to finally breathe. So yeah, it's a weird entrepreneurship story where we're just thrown in sink or swim, like figure it out. And yeah, it ended up working. So I'm glad it did.
That's awesome. Still kind of by default, you know. Default. I became an entrepreneur overnight. And so let's talk about, you know, now, today. Obviously, you know, you've been a part of our program for a few months. Yeah, right. What's been the, the biggest shift for you, man? Just say in the last like two, three months since you've been part of habit based lifestyle, to get to give.
A backstory is I never mastered marketing. And so it was ups and downs. Like we, we did hit, you know, 100k within our first year. It was all referral based. I never learned how to market. Needless to say, that source kind of dried up because I never learned the skill. The revenue dwindled down until we were at 5k a month, which is not, you know, anything to sustain a family nowadays. So joining the program, the first wins was, you know, dropping some weight because, you know, hearing you talk about like confidence attached to, to your weight and how you present yourself and, and money is correlated to that. And I'll be honest, like at first it just pissed me off. Like I'm a, I'm like, no, you didn't. But anyways, you know, once you, you swallow the bitter pill, then man, I feel like so much better. But the winds just started, started stacking up after that, one after another that led to way better than we were before.
Yeah, man. So like, you know, coming into our program, obviously first 30 days is you got some results. Like what was the big thing that you really noticed with our program that was maybe different about programs you, you've done or tried in the past?
Yeah.
You know, what was the initial thing you kind of noticed?
I'm pretty smart. I could pick up on things and I picked up a lot of different marketing skills that I was implementing. There's just multiple missing pieces and there was like three solid things that were keeping me and holding me back. And you know, that is some key things inside of social media. How to engage in a conversation that leads to a solid call and then from that call, how to actually close. So there's those three big things. It's like, well, I was doing all these marketing things that I just seen people do, but it wasn't actually working because of the missing pieces. So within from the start of the program, I begin to identify the multiple missing pieces that, that just weren't working or the reason why I wasn't making any money. And then being challenged to show up each weekend to deal with those issues and to get feedback on how, how I was working and, and all of these different things, like, all of that. If I were to say, like, what was the success? You know, it's the coaching aspect to where you identify the areas that you need help with and then you correct those areas so you can actually make some money. And my offer sucked too.
Right.
So there's probably four. Four things. My offer kind of sucked too.
Yeah, well, I mean, that is the first thing that we initially said, hey, are you, you know, are you confident what you're offering? You know, and sometimes as a business owner, if we, if we're not making the money we want, we compromise with our offer and we start offering things we don't really want to offer. And I remember that being one of our first conversations is like, hey man, do you actually believe in your offer? And you're like, well, I believe this part of it, but this side of it, I feel like I'm kind of getting talked into doing it. Yeah, yeah, that was one of the first things that we really worked on was just getting you in alignment with your offer.
Yeah, you know, helpers out there, service based industries, they, they take on a Persona. But you know, I just want to help people. The best way to help people is to stay in your lane. But you know, it's like, oh, people identify, need. Okay. Like white knight syndrome, I can come to save the day, you know, and it's like I put myself in multiple positions that I didn't belong in, in the kind of white knight syndrome there.
Yeah, it's all good, man. We, we all do that. So.
Yeah, yeah.
So we change your offer. You start getting more engagement, you start getting into more conversations, like what was a tangible result, you know, you've gotten financially in the program. And then, you know, we'll talk about some of the other results.
Yeah. So what we figured out was because we consistently keep people for at least a year and we're very, very sticky in the sense of like constant communication and contact and stuff. So we're really good at the follow up part. So what we figured it was, we were at 150k possible for the year at this point, which is, is the highest we've ever been, which is amazing. But what we even project it is if, you know, I continue at the Success rate of, of where I'm going. Like we could be at 250 a year in like no time flat. So nice. The financial results are like there to where it's like, wow, that's amazing.
So from the year before, you know, you're looking at adding an extra 50k, maybe even another 150k on top of that.
Yeah. So we, last year we did like 75. This following year we were projected so low, you know, we let go of our employees. It was just like a one man show. And that felt like it was sinking. It really did. Applied for a job, got a temporary job at ups. Like I was doing all of these things to, to make a buy and hold on to the dream, but it was just like, yeah, I was defeated in the sense of, because I, I was lost in the sense of stuckness. Like I really didn't know what to do next. So I would probably say that I was projected more about 40,000 this year. So yeah, for going from, from 40 to possibly 150k and then possibly if I continue the streak to 250k, you know, in a year's time. That's, that's, that's amazing for us.
That's awesome, man. All right, man. So like maybe there's somebody listening to this that wants to, or has thought about, you know, launching a podcast or doing something with it. Like how would they get in contact with you if they, if they wanted to do that?
