Let's go.
All right, all right, all right. Welcome to the habit based lifestyle podcast. I'm your host, Jesse Yule. And today I got a very special guest, my man Andrew Wagner, who is a chiropractor at Wagner Chiropractic in Missouri. And guy also is, is a pretty badass lifter. This guy comes on the show telling me that he could beat me in benching. So this guy right now is doing 3:15 for six. And I'm, I'm excited because this guy's gonna crack 500 in the next couple months. So we're gonna see, we're gonna see him make that feat. So, Andrew, welcome to the show.
Thanks, Jesse. And yeah, we'll see when we get there in a couple months.
And you know, if you guys are listening to this, Andrew challenged me to a liftoff, but I know he'd kick my butt, so I had to back out. So I got to live vicariously through him.
Just have Nick as your tag team partner.
That's right. We could be like the new road warriors.
Yep.
So, all right, cool, man. Well, hey, talk a little bit about, you know, what got you started in chiropractic and then I'll kind of bring it to, you know, where you are today.
Okay. What got me started in chiropractic was it was the only thing that was able to get my life back in order. I was a prone injury athlete. I was very ill. I came from a family that said if you have an injury, we go to med doctor first. You get put on pain prescriptions. If those don't work, you go to PT or you go get surgery. Chiropractor was not in the in the realm whatsoever. It became in the realm when I became very concussion problem where my, where a family friend who I didn't know was A chiropractor literally told me, you're coming with me. We are going to get these concussions under control and you're going to be living a lot healthier. Because I was dealing with light sensitivity, lack of sleep, I probably would the time when I was a teenager, I probably would get maybe about four hours of sleep at a time.
Got it.
And all weight gain. Just couldn't control weight whatsoever. It would either skyrocket to, to heavy or go all the way down low. Just couldn't find a good medium or happy fix onto there. Had had some short term memory loss. I didn't remember my very, I think it was like my second concussion. I couldn't remember my, my schedule for school. And it's like when you're a student, that's your whole thing.
Yeah. So what age was this when you kind of first started going to the chiropractor?
I was in eighth grade. Yes, I was in eighth grade. Onto that point, I didn't know the science or the background behind it or the philosophy about onto there. I just knew I need to come back to her because she made me feel better than any other thing that was possible. I went from being very sluggish, not having any there, then having my memory back, being able to go, go and be pain free, not feeling light sensitivity.
So at what age did you know that you're like, hey man, I want this to actually be my career.
So that didn't come till a little bit later in life because I wanted to do something with health but I didn't know what. So I had a couple avenues onto there. But I was 24 when I was like, I need something better for my life. Because when I, when my early 20s, I was hustling to be a personal trainer onto that point and I got burnt out severely and I needed something that was onto there. Then I went back home, I talked to a few people and they said you're smart, you know what to do. You're very hands on. You should be. You should look into chiropractics. Looked into it. I took a, I took a tour at Cleveland. Chiropractic. That's in Kansas City.
Yeah.
Then after that tour I signed up.
That's awesome. So what are you saying, man, that trainers are dumb and only the smart people move to chiropractic now?
They ain't saying that. Don't put words in my mouth.
Well, hey man, where I'm a fellow trainer so, you know, I think you're probably accurate to some extent that chiropractors Are, you know, smarter than trainers. Industry's very similar. But, you know, that's another conversation for another day. But like, so you go through chiropractic school, you, you kind of start, you know, recognizing all the, all the things that chiropractic can do for people. Like what made you so passionate about helping people once you kind of got out of school?
The biggest thing was that I saw I was able to have quick re. I. I shouldn't say use the word quick, but it was immediate results. Once people came in, they were on, there were in pains, like, hey, the pain ain't that bad anymore. It's like, good. We're on a roll on here. We're getting you from being 100 to pain at with pain. Now we're dropping it down to 75, 50% of pain and you're moving better, you're getting everything much better to that point.
That's amazing. So as you've, you know, you've kind of been working as a chiropractor for how many years?
It will be a year and a half now in office.
Okay, so you've had your own office for a year and a half. A year and a half. What's been kind of like the, the biggest and best thing about being a chiropractor with your own office the last year and a half?
The biggest and best thing about that is that I've been able to be the doctor on tis. It's all on me to make sure that your health is in my hands and make sure that you are the patient who comes through my door is going to get the treatment that they deserve that day onto there. And just seeing them being much happier with the results onto there just makes everything much fruitful until that point.
That's amazing. So let's talk a little bit about. You know, there's obviously always the chiropractic side of owning a business and then there's the actual business side of, of being a chiropractor. What has maybe been a frustrating thing for you prior to coming in to have a base lifestyle about your business.
So before base, it was pretty much you had to essentially just like a personal trail. You had a hustle to get your patients as you would hustle get your, your clients and you had to get them to understand, hey, pain is not a normal thing in life sorenesses, but the pain that you're feeling is not normal. I need to work on getting you back to normalcy on today. And it takes a little bit. If you've been in such A broad long time with pain. It's going to take a little bit of time to get you out of pain. Like, right. I tell them like, I wish I was Jesus, be able to touch you and histo facto, all done with that. But we gotta be real. We gotta live in reality. There's only one Jesus, right?
So let me ask you this, man. From a, from kind of a business perspective, prior to working with us, a habit based lifestyle, what would you say a frustrating thing was when it came to your business side of, of being the chiropractor? Outside of like the hustling, what were you maybe struggling with a little bit when it came to the business?
Getting, just getting patients to know who I was outside from here and like showing like, hey, this is who I am, this is what I do. I'm able to help you. So on and so forth on this. I've seen everything you have, I've read everything that you could possibly there could possibly be onto this. And I'm going to be straight up front with you about what's going on.
So, you know, coming in, getting new clients, was the majority of your clients you had at that point kind of more of a referral based.
Yep, it was more referral based on the still referral based. But at the same time it's still. I'm starting to gain traction with that with more patients coming in from our process that we've been working with.
That's awesome. So, I mean, dude, our first, you know, call where here I am, I'm supposed to sell you. On our program, we kind of took a 180 and you know, there were some things that, that I kind of noticed right away with you, man, which, you know, we won't get into too many details, but it ended up being. We started off our, our sales call with a prayer. And you know, I saw, I just saw, you know, you were kind of in a place where you, you seem like you were struggling a little bit, man, you know, mentally. And that was kind of the first thing, man. Like, what, what was that like for you? Because I know my side. I'm like, you know, getting a prompt from the Holy Spirit to be like, hey man, you need to pray for this guy. And I'm thinking like, dude, that's. Is that really what you're telling me right now? So I wanted to kind of get your perspective and then I wanted to tell it a little bit from mine.
Well, to be honest, Jesse, you were pretty much the one person who in a long period of time and asked me what is actually happening? What's going on, like, what's going on with you mentally? Because everyone, no one wants to know. Everyone wants to know, like saying, hey, are you okay? But you don't want them to know, hey, you're not really okay.
Right.
And you brought the honest truth out of me that day. And that was the big thing where I was like, this guy actually cares.
Yeah. And, you know, I, I would say for me, I kind of wrestled with it for about you know, three minutes and was like, okay, like, maybe he's not saying to pray for him. Maybe he's saying pray for him after the call and then he's like, no, you need to pray for him right now, man, before we get into anything else. And I, I will say, for me, man, it was probably one of the most impactful times I've had in my business because it was like everything in me was saying, like, no, that's not what it means, kind of second guessing it, but it was like, as soon as I listened, I did it, man. I, I just saw a complete shift in you. And I, I want to, I want to say this because I think it kind of goes unnoticed. Like I've seen the biggest change in anybody I've ever worked with in the span of about 6 weeks from, you know, you, like, you're not even the same guy, man, I got on a call with that day. And so I wanted to say that because to me, like, dude, I'm. I'm proud of you, number one, to be able to say that. But I'm proud of the work that you've done so far and just continue to do and show up every, every week.
Thank you, Jose. Yeah, thank you for that, Jesse.
I know you got to get off soon, but I'm gonna get into a couple more questions. So number one, as you come into our program, like, what was the initial thing that you noticed right away once you got into our program?
Your system is bulletproof, is made for you, for to success, to succeed. And you have others who are going to make sure you succeed as well. They're going to make sure that you're going to stay accountable. They're going to make sure that you are going to be responding. If you do not respond, show up, so on, so forth, they will call you out and say, you know, you're better than this. Let's go.
Good man. And so, you know, having that accountability, having, you know, that support, like, how has that impacted your business, you know, financially.
Financially. So our first month that we did, I went Full bore into it. And I end up getting, I'm making another 8,8000 that first month. Then the second month that we just ended with end up being another 10,000 to, to the pre. To it.
Okay, awesome. So you're, you're not only seeing results as far as like financially, but are you seeing better, you know, qualified patients, you know.
Yep. Starting seeing them. The. Seeing the ones who actually want the help, not the ones who saying, well, I'm just going, doctor, hop on this and look for the best deal. No, it's, that's not how this works. You find a daughter, that's that you and that you have a one on one connection with. That's how everybody gets better.
That's awesome. So what are things that people say, you know, to you? Not only that are current clients, but new clients, about seeing you, you know, online, you know, building your brand, things like that? Do they have any other. Do they say anything different when they come in and see you?
They say, how can you read my mind? Just because I'm, I know what's going on. I'm just like, it's just getting them to relax the most part if they already have the face of a stressful day. It's like, we need to calm you down. Come this way, let's talk real quick.
No, that's good, man. So what is maybe what, what's an unexpected result you've gotten just from, you know, being in this program outside of obviously the financial success you've had?
I've been able to. I thought this would never happen. I have a family who I just see the mom and dad, they have a daughter who is on the spectrum, she's autistic. And they brought her in, like saying, hey, she's not sleeping well, she's a little bit irritable, so on and so forth. And it's like, okay, she's a teenage girl with a spectrum. Let's just get her to chill out. I throw. I'm just like, okay, let's get her to relax a little bit, get to know her and, and I just ask her like saying, hey, what do you like, what you like to do? So on, so forth. I just basically just treat her as you and me onto this and not treat her any differently. And I just said, hey, we're gonna play a little bit of a game onto this as well. I'm going to push on these. You get to push on me next onto this. The following day, mom calls me saying she slept 10 hours, 10 hours and she did not wake up. Once and she was more communicate us where her speech was not as shaky or stuttery. It's very hard to describe that, but it was more precise.
Yeah. That's awesome. So you're able to help people that maybe you never expected to help.
Absolutely. I never thought I would have. Have someone who's on the spectrum and be able to help them to a full stability.
Wow, that's pretty amazing, man. So like inside of habit based lifestyle, what would you say is an unexpected result you've gotten in our program that you know, maybe you got for you not thinking that you would get in this program unexpected.
The biggest thing is coming out of my shell. I am more introverted than like a lot of people are onto that point. I like to keep to myself. I don't like to go out. I want to be onto there. But with this I've been able to branch out a little bit more. Be able to have my be able to communicate a lot better with other people on there. And, and now they're like, oh, you're actually really interesting. You don't. You're not. Not just a big guy who's just wearing. That's just wearing scrubs.
No. That's awesome, man. I think that, you know, the other thing is, is, you know you've been able to lose how much weight since you started working with us?
25 now.
Wow. So in like six weeks, seven weeks, you've been able to lose £25, which is pretty incredible. And not only that, you're benching 315 six times. Yeah, I'm still trying to work on getting it once. So when I grow up, I want to be more like you. But you know, talk about man, just as we kind of wrap this up, I know you got to get going and help your patients, but like the camaraderie, the group support, like how has that really impacted you in a positive way?
Oh, it's, it's crazy. It's like if I have a. We all, all have our friends, but there's sometimes you don't want to talk to your friends about certain stuff because they, they don't know what's going on because you know them. There's others in the group who have been, who are much older than me onto this or who are my age but have experienced life a little bit more than I have.
Right.
So getting their expertise on saying hey what. Who should I talk to about this search this situation or who should I talk about more about relationships or. And where or try and get or find back into an act of God of that as well.
That's awesome, man. So let me ask you this. What would you tell someone who is maybe on the fence of doing this program? Like, what would you say to them?
Do it. Don't waste your time. You know, listen to your gut. Get done, do the work, learn, watch the videos multiple times, listen to you just do, do, do the work. And just everything is bulletproof that you could possibly work yourself out. And you have others who are going have you to make sure you're going to be good.
Awesome, man. Well, hey, thank you so much, man for being on today. Super proud of you, the work you're doing, the growth you've had. And I'm excited to see what you do in the next few months. Guys, if you're listening to this, you want to find out a little bit more about Drew, how he's benching three, 15 times six. You know, you can check him out. Andrew Wagner, you can find him on Facebook and check out this sexy guy, this beast. And if you're ladies, if you're single and listen to this, I believe he is single. So you know, if you're, he's single and ready to mingle. So if you ladies are looking for a good looking guy that has his stuff in order, like check him out, I'll make sure I drop him a link directly to him in the show notes. But Andrew, dude, super excited for you, man. Again, thank you so much for being a part of Habit Based Lifestyle, our program, our community. And we'll see you guys on next episode.
The purpose of this show the purpose of this show is to guide you to realign with habits that get you to live the life, live the life you've always dreamed of. This, this is the Habit Based Lifestyle podcast with Jesse.
