EP 574: The Power of Social Media Marketing with Nick Ponomarenko
30 Jan 2026 · 17 min
Episode EP 574 of the Habit Based Lifestyle podcast features host Jesse Ewell interviewing chiropractor Nick Ponomarenko, creator of the Texas Weight Loss system. Nick explains why he transitioned from chiropractic care into a remote weight-loss program, how he joined the HBL (habit-based lifestyle) social-media engagement process in early/mid December, and how that process generated rapid engagement and sales. Early results: $12,500 collected in active sales (about $1,500 additional pending), first 'ask' executed in late December, and referrals produced additional enrollments. Nick reports the program is remote and serving clients in roughly seven states; his clinic began ~1.5 years ago and he has practiced chiropractic since 2010. The episode contrasts radio-based influencer marketing and Facebook ads with HBL’s organic engagement approach, highlights client quality and referral dynamics, and outlines scaling potential.

All right, guys. Welcome to the habit based lifestyle podcast. I'm your host, Jesse Yule and today we got a very special guest, Nick Ponmarenko. He is the creator of the Texas weight loss system. If you want to check him out, texasfatloss.com is the domain. Weight loss is his game. So Nick, want to welcome you on the show today, man.
Hey, thanks for having me.
Hey man, can you kind of give us a little bit of a. Just background on you and just kind of like what got you into chiropractic and weight loss?
Yeah, you know. Yes. I'm a chiropractor by trade. Been practicing since 2010. So going on into my 14th year of practice, for the longest time just been a chiropractor. I've dabbled in nutrition and, you know, more superficial weight loss and.
Right.
You know, as of late. We started the Texas Weight loss clinic about a year and a half ago, a little over. And really the, the reason I got into that is, is you. As most chiropractors can attest to, a lot of people come in hurting, pain, you know, usually there's a lot of weight related issues driving up inflammation. So I wanted to find another avenue of how to help people outside of just, you know, again adjusting people and working through, you know, kind of NER system function. So really got involved in this and it's been going really good, but I felt like there was a missing piece. And, you know, again, I give, you know, kind of credit to Jamie west for putting me in touch with you and then kind of getting tied into the hbl.
Let's, let's kind of go back, man. You start your weight loss business. I always kind of find that fascinating, like why chiropractors want to do that. But I also understand why, because you know, obviously we can treat people who are overweight with adjustments and things like that, but maybe the biggest adjustment they need is, you know, in their stomachs. And so, like, it's a. It's a great compliment to health, right. When we really want to get people healthy. But, like, what made you specifically want to do weight loss and, you know, get into that as far as like, chiropractic, right? Because you're used to adjusting people, all of a sudden, now you're helping people with weight loss. So, like, what made you want to shift that up?
Two reasons. One, I'm not getting any younger. Right. And so thinking of kind of the backside of my. My career future, trying to think smarter, not harder. So how can I help more people, but also start to create a different path for, you know, my body of. Instead of adjusting people until, you know, I kind of roll over, you know, and die. It's like, how can I help people still make a great income and steady flow of that through weight loss. Right. And so it's a great avenue. I think it's something, unfortunately, if you look at just like, the statistics and numbers of where our society is going, it's just. It's going in the wrong direction. And realistically, I think more and more people need to get involved into a niche like this. But opportunity came up for me, and I jumped right at it.
Awesome, man. So since, you know, you've been doing this, what has been. Prior to hbo, like, what's been the. The main marketing that you've been using specifically for this program?
Yeah, mostly radio. So we're tied in with the company that again, will take these radio DJs who are interested in the program or who have weight to lose. So we'll put them through the program, and then once they get their results, then we'll go live with them on the radio, pay for their platform, and they just talk about their results, you know, so it's almost similar to having like an influencer or micro influencer, but we're using the radio platform.
Prior to working with us, had you been using, you know, social media to drive people in for your weight loss program or, you know, what were you specifically doing on social media?
Pretty much nothing. You know, I would say I came into the hbl, you know, pretty raw. You know, outside of posting pictures of my family and pointless memes and stuff, you know, there was really nothing there. It had no idea, you know, how to use Facebook to actually drive in new business.
Okay, cool. And so, like, what, you know, obviously you got started with us. What was maybe, you know, one or two of the very first results that you saw within a couple weeks of working this HBL process.
Really, a lot of the engagement, you know, and I. I had seen these posts, you know, from mutual friends, you know, across Facebook, and I'm like, what. What is going on? Like, what. What is this thing? And then when I start actually doing it, after you coached me up and. And taught me the ropes of the game, it made sense, right? So I started actually, you know, again with the engagement post, like, really just kind of firing up that. The engine of the car. A lot of people who I've. I've been friends with didn't even know I was friends with started kind of surfacing, but outside of that, I mean, starting. They even started to, like, send me messages, right? Private messages, like, hey, what's going on? You know, like, almost like they were concerned for me. But I knew it was working because it was. It was starting to bring this, you know, these roots kind of to the surface. And, you know, that was probably the.
Coolest thing for me as you begin to roll this out, man. You know, I think a lot of times people think, well, I need to be. I need to be marketing before. I need to be putting myself out before I, you know, do something. But, like, can you kind of walk us through a little bit of the process of, like, implementation? Was it. Was it difficult for you to begin to implement this or, you know, was it simple or kind of. What was that whole process like?
It was probably the easiest thing I've ever done, honestly. Like, you. You created a great structure. I had a schedule to follow. You gave me some flexibility to make some tweaks to. To some of the posts, but it was really just following a. A schedule, you know, and then once we got to the first ask, that was probably the most nervous for me of, like, all right, so I'm gonna actually ask, like, these people to, you know, to engage into this specific thing that I'm trying to create a sales process with. And. And the outcome was. I mean, it was awesome. I mean, it was really. I mean, absolutely tremendous. I mean, the flow that we got from it and the. The attention from it was way more than I thought it was going to be.
Okay, good. And so, you know, talk. Talk a little bit about, like, what has been your results, you know, just in. Since you've, you know, really did your first ask from today, just from, you know, the social media process we're teaching. You can do financial and then maybe kind of an Unexpected result.
Yeah, a couple great results. One, I did my first ask. So I started with you mid. Early mid December, you know, through the engagement process. Did first ask last Friday in December. And through that weekend, I started getting the buzz, right? Started getting people engaging, like, wanting to know more through January, because we. We haven't. That was when our first sales call happened or their first connection happened. So far, we've done 12,500 of active sales that we've collected. We still have another 1500 that a couple people needed kind of payment options to go through it. So it's been great. I mean, we've already paid for the whole entire program in less than a month, which is absolutely phenomenal. But the coolest thing was one of the individuals that we did convert into the program, she said she was referring her friend in, right? And so I went through the process with her friend and the. The girl who was actually on the process, like, she actually was already seeing such good results that she paid for her friend's program. So it was. It was actually really cool that, you know, it came both ways. Right. You know, we made a believer into this. Someone's getting great results and they decided to invest in their friend because their friend needed it but couldn't afford it.
Awesome, man. And the quality, like, the quality of people you get through this process, like, what would you say to someone who's maybe on the outside and they're like, dude, I've tried Facebook ads. I've tried all these things. Like, what would you say the quality of client you're getting from this?
Yeah, I think the. The closest analogy I would create, it's like one of your best friends setting you up with, you know, someone they trust and know on a date. Right? I mean, it's like, all right, you know, you're getting it from a good source and. And that it's come from a reliable source. And so most of the people you know, again, depending on who you're friends with, right? I hope. I hope you got a good friend network. Network on. On Facebook. And then as you continue to grow and you're tapping into other friends networks, you know, it. It's quite. It's great. I mean, it's. It's phenomenal quality. I've done the social media, the. The discounted exams through chiropractic, and it's just like, man, get me out of here. But this is different. Like, everybody who posts or comments back or. Or sends a dm, like, I mean, it. It is like, you know, it's pretty much Going to be a close or whether they just knock it out or they're going to have to do a payment in cycles.
Awesome, man. So what. Let me ask you this, man. What is been maybe an unexpected result for you and our program?
Honestly, unexpected is just the simple fact that I didn't even know this was a process. So I, I didn't. That's the, the most surprising thing to me is that I didn't even know I could have been doing this all along. And, you know, I, I'm kind of frustrated because I, I've seen you around for years, but I. I've never really kind of pulled the trigger or created an engagement, so I wish I would have found out about this earlier. That's. That's probably my biggest regret. But surprise is definitely that. I mean, it works as. As seamless as it does.
Yeah. And there's a. I mean, there's a lot of health professionals, you know, like you, and chiropractic stuff like that that, you know, they're kind of all fighting over Facebook ads and some of these, you know, more normal marketing spots. What would you say for you is kind of the difference between, like a Facebook ad and a process like this?
The people that I engage with, nothing of it is me trying to sell a discounted service. You know, so that's the great thing is that, you know, people who I engage with and we, you know, start the DM process and conversating, like, it's never a, you know, hey, I saw this great deal. Like, how do I get it right? It's just like, hey, I love what you're talking about. Like, what's the best way to pay for it? You know, and so that's the great thing is that it's. I'm not having to dilute my product just to get people, you know, I'm just having to put in the work to create the engagement and. And then deliver on the promise.
Nice. That's awesome, man. So what are. What are you. What are you seeing maybe like, for the future possibility of, like, of this program for you? Like, you know, what's this kind of waking you up to see as like a bigger picture?
Bigger picture is really. It's almost like standing on a beach for me and thinking about jumping in the water and thinking that that's the only piece of water I can touch. Right. Me. So far, I've tapped into my immediate group and network, but the network is unlimited. And that's the cool thing about it is literally just looking out in the ocean and Wondering when. When it will end, you know, and in the grand scheme of things, like, depending on which direction you look, it never does. And so that's the cool thing, is that this process can continue to evolve and to grow if you work the system right. And that's, for me, the most exciting part.
Yeah, that's awesome, man. I mean, I know in your industry for a long time, people primarily focus on, you know, hey, I'm just gonna do chiropractic. But I think what's cool for you, man, is you've, you know, recognize, hey, I can actually have, like, a weight loss program in my business. But now you have the ability to not only serve people in your community, but you also have the ability to serve people, you know, outside of that as well. So your reach, you know, has really been able to expand. And then also, um, you know, I don't know if there's another way of you reaching other PE potential practitioners that may want to do the same thing as you, but I think that might be in your horizon if. If you're not already doing that.
Yeah, no, I mean, there. There's. I've had multiple people, you know, reaching out to me, asking about weight loss, but also asking about, like, what I'm doing, like, with you. And so I think it goes both ways. I think, you know, again, understanding the success that I'm having with it so far, people want to naturally know what I'm doing through the business side, but also, like, how am I getting this, these other things, how am I growing that business at the same time? And that's where it's really cool to see that people are seeing that and wanting to have a piece of that.
That's awesome, man. So any. Any last words to somebody who may be in your position on the fence? They're like, I don't know if this is going to work for me. You know, how long is it. How long is it going to take to get results? Like, what would you tell them?
Just do it. You know, thank me later and thank Jesse later. You know, honestly, if I can do it, anybody can do it. I had next to no experience in social media. The, like, the accountability and support that. That I've gotten from, you know, you and a couple other guys, you know, from hbl has been huge for me, you know, because if it's. If. If I had to try to figure this out on my own, there's no chance. Right? But with you guys, it made it. Made it super easy. It's like, hey, you just have to do it, like, just do this, you know, and so you will not regret it. If, if you are on the fence, just do it, you know, and again, thank me later.
All right. Well, hey, thanks, man. I appreciate you being on the show today. If you guys. Well, one, if you guys, if somebody wanted to find out more about your weight loss system, how would they do that, man?
Yep. Fastest and easiest way is go to texasfatloss.com got a bunch of great information on there. You can schedule a free phone consultation. We'll walk you through the program, get to know you a little bit better. And the great thing is, is that, I mean, we. We're currently serving people in, I think we're up to seven states that we've actually been able to work with. So we're not just based in Texas. We're able to do it completely remote and make it fit into your lifestyle specifically. So that's the. The cool thing about it.
Nice. Well, hey, thanks for being on the show today, man. Super excited for you and can't wait to see what you do in the future.
Awesome, man. I appreciate you.
All right, talk soon.
