Welcome back to the habit based lifestyle and business secret show. Today we're talking to Christian Winger. Christian is the owner of a coaching business called Stop Hiding. And Christian's been working with us for about two and a half months and I wanted to bring him on the show today, talk a little bit about the experience he's had, also his results and just what he does also with this coaching. So. Hey, Christian, welcome to the show. Can you tell us, can you tell us a little bit about your, your coaching business, what it's about and you know, what got you started in that?
Sure, man. Thanks for having me on. So really it's, it's geared towards men who, you know, have this internal fire and it's their internal drive. They know they've got more. They just haven't figured out a way to tap into that yet. They've got a lot of passion, they've got a lot of fire. It's just how do I, how do I reach that next step? So, and that's kind of the journey that I've been on. You know, I've known for a long time or knew for a long time that there was more within me. I just didn't know quite how to reach that. And so it's just taking what I've learned over the last, say, six or eight years and transforming that into a program to help guys do the same thing.
Awesome, man. So what, what, you know, what really inspired you to kind of want to start, you know, a coaching program specific to men and, you know, really take this message to the marketplace.
That was kind of a transition, you know, kind of a journey for me. I guess I've always been kind of a natural teacher. I've spent the last 25 years essentially working in the construction trades as an electrician and the cool thing about that is you always had apprentices, so you were always teaching people. I spent a number of years teaching at a community college and teaching students there, and now I'm the CEO of a charter school. And so it's just. I've always liked to teach. And so taking this passion of, hey, how did I make myself better? I didn't necessarily connect the dots initially of, hey, I need to teach other people how to do this. It was really. It kind of came about slow. Of. Once I started experiencing that growth and then seeing other people experience that growth, it was kind of like, you know, I'm doing it just. I'm doing a disservice to the world if I don't offer my knowledge, if I don't say, hey, here's. It's not that I'm going to take you from step one to step 100. It's. I might take you from step, you know, 63 to step 68 or something like that. It's just, I look back on what it took for me to grow and thinking, man, if I could have just got there a little bit faster, how much that would have saved me. So now it's doing the same thing, and it's seeing that when other guys start seeing those same results and start achieving those same results, it's like there's not much more. More fulfilling out there than that.
Yeah, for sure, man. I. I totally agree. So tell me, like, the concept of stop hiding. Like, what. What it. What. What made you come up with that idea? What made you kind of come up with that concept?
So the concept really comes from, you know, this idea again of there's more within you than you have tapped into that you've seen yourself. And sometimes that comes from an outside recognition. You know, I've. I've grown because I've worked with other coaches, even you, yourself, who have said, hey, you know, I see some potential in you that you may not see yourself. And so, you know, they start to kind of push you and nudge you out of your comfort zone, so to speak, into a new area, into a new territory. And so it's just kind of that idea of you're hiding where you are right now. You're hiding in your comfort zone. You're hiding in the potential that you have, whether it's in your. Your business or your family or, you know, your personal life, whatever. It's. It's. It's, you know, there's more there or somebody else knows that there's more there, and it's calling you out of that comfort and calling you out of that hiding zone.
Got it. And so, you know, really for you, what you're helping men with is get out of that comfort zone, kind of expose the things that maybe they. They didn't know they were hiding. And then there's other things that they might know they're hiding and really like, kind of put them out there and. And then get them to kind of like, hey, you can choose to keep hiding these, or you can choose to kind of expose them, work through them, and then kind of move on. So, like, let me ask you this, man. I. I know your background, but I know a lot of other people probably listening this. Don't. What would you say are the top two or three things that most men hide, you know, when it comes to kind of like their. Their life, their lifestyle?
Yeah. So I think probably regardless of your background, I think all men have got a lot of these things in common. As, I mean, I see it as that a lot of them are hiding from the physical potential where they could be at in their fitness and in their health. A lot of them are hiding from their wives or marriages. A lot of them are hiding from their kids. A lot of them are hiding in their businesses. They're hiding, you know, whether they own a business or whether they work for somebody else, they're hiding from their true potential of where they could go inside of that. And sometimes it's due to fear, and sometimes it's due to the fact that, hey, I just don't have a roadmap. You know, I know there's things I want to do, but I just don't know how to get there or I don't know what that next step is to be. Sometimes we over complicate things in our head and we, you know, we kind of get in our own way. We kind of. We get in our head and so to speak, and not allow ourselves to take those first steps.
Okay, good. And, you know, so it sounds like those are things that you were kind of hiding in, Right. And then you kind of, you know, maybe. Maybe aggressively got those called out of you. And I always tell people, I was like, look, you know, there's. There's like calling them out on you, but it's also calling you up higher. Like you said, is like, hey, man, if you see the potential in somebody that they don't see in themselves, you're able to kind of like call them higher than, you know, where they are now. And so I would imagine those are the things that you kind of went through. Right. And. And that's what you. You're like, hey, man, I really want to help people with these things that I struggled with.
Yeah. And a lot of times it's. It's not fun. You know, I like how you say aggressively because it seems like so much in today's world anyway. We're so, you know, we're so careful about how we approach people and how we talk to each other and how we talk to other people or how we, you know, even encourage some people sometimes. And sometimes it takes a willingness to make somebody uncomfortable to the truth of their life in order for them to kind of go, oh, yeah, there. There is some stuff I'm leaving on the table here. There's some more potential that I haven't tapped into and get them to wake up are the consequences if I stay this way, if I don't change, if. If whatever.
So, you know, I would say this, man. Like, the difference is, is if somebody didn't aggressively call those out in you, you probably wouldn't change.
Exactly.
You know, and that's. That's what I really believe is, you know, we. We can go to church, you know, which is great. Right. But they're not aggressively going to call, you know, things out in you. We can, you know, a lot of times we build oursel kind of into this prison in our. We're kind of like the top dog in our community. And so everybody kind of looks up to us, so they're definitely not going to call us out. And then when we get around other men who, you know, maybe play just playing life at a higher level and. And they kind of aggressively call us, you know, higher to that level that gets us to show up in a completely different way.
Yeah, absolutely. It takes that. And it's, you know, you know, like you said, with what I had found and even where I was personally, it's. You're almost like you learn how to manipulate everybody. Maybe not in a malicious way, but you learn how to manipulate everybody inside your own circle. And so nobody challenges you on where you are, what you're achieving, or what you're accomplishing. And now you start running with other guys, and it's like that barrier is gone now and say, hey, I could challenge you all day long to show up in a different capacity, but it's. It's uncomfortable. And that's. That's what causes that movement. That's what causes that change.
Yeah, for sure, man. I think the number one thing that we hide are the lies. We don't know we're telling ourselves, you know, and that's kind of like the lies of omission. Right. It's like we don't even know we're lying because we're so accustomed to being comfortable, you know, we. We get comfortable in our own lives. And, you know, that's. That's what's really cool about what you're doing is like, hey, look, man, I'm going to show you the things that, you know you're hiding, but I'm probably going to show you a lot of the things that you don't even know you're hiding, you know, and those are the scary things, right? Because we don't even see them. So that's amazing, man. So. So how long have you had this specific business and kind of like working on the coaching?
So I've had it kind of just in the wings, so to speak, for probably two years.
Okay.
Dabbling in it, not really running with it very hard.
Cool. So tell me a little bit about, you know, I know we've been working together for a little over two months. What would you say kind of the biggest things you were kind of struggling with prior to working with us?
I think kind of a lot of what I. What I teach my own program to a certain degree is just having that roadmap of having this plan of here's, you know, you end up with a vision of here's where I want to go, but I don't know how to get there, you know? And so what you've created inside your program is really that roadmap where I didn't have to feel like I needed to sit down and design something from scratch. It was, hey, just don't over complicate this. Follow these steps, and you're going to start to see results. So that. That was a pivotal thing for me.
So maybe the biggest thing you're struggling with prior to coming in with us was maybe like, lead generation and just getting more people to where you're able to get into the right conversations and, you know, get in front of the right people.
Yeah, absolutely.
Okay, cool. So coming in, you know, and kind of knowing, man, there's probably other coaches out there who may struggle with some of these same things. Like, what is this? What has this been like for you as far as, like, implementation of. Of the program?
So really, it's just kind of taking action. You know, I think where I got before was you get in your head a little bit on maybe I know what I need to do or I know what this next step needs to be, but now I talk myself out of it or something. So, you know, again, having that plan, kind of having that here's the steps you need to take and then having some accountability and then having, you know, you to work through with or even other guys in the group, it's just like, here's, here's the things I need to do. Let's just take action on them and see what happens.
And you know, now that you kind of like look at where you're at now and then you look back, what's the difference in action that you're doing now versus kind of what you were doing, say like four or five months ago.
I think a lot of it was just kind of creating the vision in my head, kind of giving myself that permission to say, hey, this is where I want to go and I can do this. I do have something to offer. I do have results that, you know, are evident in my own life. I have results that are evident in the other guys life that I've coached. And so it's kind of instilling me in that belief of here's where I could go next, you know, where maybe before I was, you know, still carrying some of those doubts of, well, this is, this might be a fun little project to do or fun little hobby, but I don't know that I can really do it to that scale or, you know, I don't know that I have the significance that what it would take to get there. And now it's kind of realizing, no, I, I've got this, I can, I can take it to as big as I want.
So maybe the biggest thing is just confidence in what, you know, what you're doing, you know, online and, and things like that. You know, I'm sure there's a lot of, you know, coaches that listen to this or even kind of health professionals. What would you say is the number one thing that's kind of given you more confidence since you started, you know, working with us?
Well, I think in life confidence comes from completion. So it's actually following through, it's actually doing the work. You can't see results if you don't do the work and you can't get confidence if you don't see the results. So it's just, it's taking those steps, it's putting those things into place, it's taking those actions. And then, you know, once you start closing people, once you start seeing results in other people's lives or even just seeing results in your own life, you know, that's where that confidence comes from. And so, you know, it's, it's. Sadly, you can't get the confidence if you don't do the work.
And yeah, I always, you know, I always kind of compare this to like working out. Right. And having, having a plan or kind of winging it on your own.
Yeah.
You know, it's like, hey, here's a, here's a diet for your business, for marketing, you know, for getting in front of the right people. If, you know, you can follow these things, like, you can expect to get this result. So like, you kind of have this diet now for your business essentially. Right. Let me ask you this, man. Obviously you see other people in our group. What's, what's maybe been the biggest shift for you kind of being in a group of other entrepreneurs all wanting to grow to the same level. You know, what it, how's that kind of shifted for you versus what you were doing before, which is kind of playing along.
Yeah. I think the idea of whoever the smart guy was that said something along the lines of, you know, you're the sum of the five people you hang out with the most. It's. This puts you into another group. You know, in my personal life, in my day to day world, I don't run around with a bunch of salesmen or I don't run around a bunch of coaches. I don't run around with, you know, a bunch of people that are out there trying to change other people's lives on this level. And so having a group where all these other people are doing the same things, they're experiencing the same things, they're, you know, they're facing the same challenges, they're facing the same struggles, or they're working on their confidence, they're working on building out their programs. But then they're also experiencing the wins of, hey, when they see results in their lives, when they see results in their programs, and when they see the results in the clients that they have, you know, it allows everybody to kind of grow together. So it's having those other elbows to rub and other shoulders to rub against. It's like, hey, I can see these results too.
Yeah, no, that's awesome, man. So, you know, since we'll just say the last six weeks, kind of since we got through the holidays, you really kind of got this up and going. You kind of put the fear aside, man. What have been your kind of tangible results just say in the last six weeks?
So I've signed up four new clients to my program and they were Big ticket sales compared to where the. Where I was running out before, they were kind of smaller ticket items that I was. I was pushing. So once my confidence grew, not only in myself to lead, but my confidence grew in the program that I developed. And then it kind of gave me that confidence to say, hey, this is. This is what this is worth, and this is what, you know, you need to pay in order to see the results that you're gonna. That you're desiring to have in your own life. So, you know, I think it's. It's just allowed me to elevate the whole thing.
Yeah, man. For sure. So as far as, like, four new clients, what's that kind of been for as far as revenue?
So that's been about 16 grand.
Okay, cool. And before you were kind of piecing things together, you know, kind of in and out, you know, maybe hitting a sale one month and then not hitting anything for another month. As far as, like, maybe an unexpected result in our program, is there anything that maybe you weren't expecting that you got a result in that's kind of had you shift your mindset a little bit?
You know, I think probably when I started the program, I had this idea of, hey, if I could get to, you know, maybe just a little bit higher than what I'm doing. I think I was making around a thousand dollars a month doing what I was doing before, you know, and I thought if I could get to, like, the $10,000 a month level, then that would be a huge win, you know? But that was really kind of as far as I could see as far as my potential. And now maybe an unexpected win is just seeing, hey, really, that's just the first step. Like, that's, you know, that's kind of a baby step, really, if you will. It's. If I want to take this a lot harder, really run with this, then I could turn this into, you know, you know, 100 grand a month deal or something like that, where it's just, now I can see that potential a little bit more. It's kind of like you. You've gone around the bend a little bit more. You've done the work. You've. You've gone down the path a little bit, but now your horizon opens up a little bit more. You're like, hey, there's. There's a lot more here. Yeah.
No, that's awesome.
You know, not selfishly from, hey, I could really make a lot of money with this. It's more of. There's a lot of potential here. And my people that I can help and change their lives and impact where they are.
Yeah, for sure, man. I mean, how many guys, you know, hiding, you know, right. That. That don't even know they're hiding, you know, it's like, I think if we look at bigger picture thing, you know, men today are probably hiding more than ever. How do we know that? Because, you know, you and I and pretty much every other man that we know were hiding at one time, if not still today. And so it's. It's very easy to see it when you're just seeing who you were, you know, a few years ago.
Yeah, in a lot of ways. We live in a world now where it's. It's made it easier for people to hide. It's made easier for people to not show up and not live to their full potential.
It's why it's wild, you know, because we live in an era where you have social media, right? But it's like you can also hide on social media and kind of show only the good stuff, right? Which. Which then is like, it's almost worse, right? Because then it's like what you're putting out there, you know, is a lie, but you're still hiding in that. And so it's really allowed us to hide, almost hide what we're trying to hide. So it's almost made it worse, you know, because it's like now I've set this standard on social media that I'm one way, but really that's not how things are. They're completely different.
Yeah.
And so, you know, unless you're really trained in this stuff, you know, it's hard to see through that. So.
Yeah, it is.
Well, tell me, tell me this, man. Like, what. What do you see as kind of the future for you over the next few months, you know, with your potential and your program kind of coming into play?
So I think it's just taking all of that next, that next step, just leveling it up even more, you know, just building out my program even more where it's more efficient to run for myself, but it's also more effective for the clients that I have and just makes it something that's scalable for me and it, you know, it's scalable for the client. And so I just, again, it's kind of seeing that potential of, hey, this, there's a lot more I could do here. There's a lot further I can go. It's not just, yeah, cool, I reached this one level and now I'm going to Turn around the home, you know, it's. Why would you quit now?
Yeah, for sure. Well, I mean, you already proved that, hey, you can do. You can do more than you were capable of, you know, two, three months ago. Give me maybe like the top two lessons you've learned just in the last couple months being in this program.
You know, I think it comes back to that, that stop hiding principle again, of even when you're talking about social media, like we were just discussing. It's, you know, once you start seeing on social media, you start looking on social media, it's like everybody's hiding. You know, nobody knows how to show up in an authentic way, and so they don't have the permission to show up in an authentic way. Or they've got so many stories that are blocking how they are. And in order for me to grow, not only my program, but just, you know, professionally and personally, it's. I've got to show up in a more authentic way. And so, you know, you can't have this lens of social media in today's world where everything is fake, you know, and all we're doing is showing the real. It's like, once I've experienced that, the more vulnerable I am and the more, you know, the more real that I am and showing who I am, it's not like, yeah, I just. I've got this and I've got all my successes that I have, and I was just born with those, you know, I've had my whole life. It's. That's kind of what people see on. On social media. It's like, that's. This is what you are. This is how I take you at face value, and I just assume you've been that way your whole life. But once you start exposing, hey, that's not how I was, and this is actually where I came from, and this is the path that I've been on. Then, you know, it's just, your engagement explodes. Now, the realness of it, and that's what's drawing people in for me as they're going, hey, this. This guy's different. You know, he's. He's willing to show where he's come from. He's willing to show that path. And not only that, he's willing to say, hey, I'll show you how you get. Get to where you want to go. So it's just kind of that unexpected lesson of, you know, here I am, I think I'm out there to show everybody how to stop hiding. And there's still areas that I'm hiding. It's still areas of how do I show up more real and how do I show up for vulnerable and be able to impact more people.
Yeah. That's amazing, man. Let's say this. We got. We got a guy on the fence. He's not sure know, maybe he's tried to launch a coaching business or he's tried to do some stuff on social media. Like, what would you tell that guy that was kind of on the fence of joining, possibly joining our program?
You know, I would say that if he joined the program, he would find out that, you know, it's not a complicated process. I think one of the first things you told me, you know, which, you know, subconsciously I knew, but was like, you're like, nobody does things if it's complicated. You know, sure. Intellectually I know that nobody's going to do it if it's complicated, but, you know, it's just having that. Okay, yeah, cool. Let's. Let's keep this simple. And I think that's what we do as individuals, is we complicate things.
Yeah.
Getting into groups and we have a plan and we have a map and we have a way to discuss that. Then we recognize, hey, this doesn't have to be complicated. Chances are I'm over complicating it, and that's what's blocking my success.
Right. I. I don't remember where I heard this last week, but somebody said, you know, if you have time to sit in fear and think about it, you got so much time on your hands, which kind of tells me, like, hey, we're maybe thinking about. Then it's like, if we have time to calculate what we may see happen in the future, that's bad. And to run through all those scenarios, like, we might have too much. We have too much time on our hands. And that typically comes from not taking action. Right, Right. And so, you know, the biggest thing with that is I think people tend to sit in fear and. And it. And it. But it's like a lot of it is just like, we have too much time on our hands to where it's like, dude, if you're like, hey, you need to get this done in the next, like, three days, you've leveraged, you know, time on yourself, and so there you have no choice but to, you know, take action. Right. And I think that's what's, you know, different is, is that it's like, when we can take different action, we can get different results.
Right, Right.
Well, hey, man, go ahead.
The ranching background and so I'll give you an analogy that we use with horses. One of the most dangerous things that you can have with a horse is a horse that freezes up. Like, if you're a trainer or if you're a rider and you're on a horse that freezes up, and you can't get that horse to move his feet. That's one of the most dangerous places that you can find yourself, because you can't control that horse if he's not moving his feet.
Yeah.
And it's like, what we do as people, we freeze up. We just sit there in that fear. And now there's nothing I can do. Where if you're training a horse or if you're riding a horse, the best thing you can do is get that horse moving. If he's moving, I can direct his feet, I can direct his actions. I can make him do something. And so it's the same thing. It's like, how do I find a way to make you take action? How do I find a way to make me take action? Because when I do that, now you're gonna start seeing something happen.
Yeah. You know, I find a lot of times, too, people that sit in fear, they gotta take. They feel like they gotta take a big leap instead of just like a half a step or like, hey, here's. Here's this half a step you can take. And it's like, oh, that wasn't that bad. I can take another one of these and then another one, and then all of a sudden you're like, dude, now I'm moving, and I. I don't need to look back at what's behind me. So. Yeah, that's awesome, man. Well, hey, thanks so much for being on here. Really appreciate you, the work you're doing and, you know, the effort you're putting in and can't wait to see what happens in the next few months.
