All right. I want to welcome you to the Habit Based Lifestyle Podcast. I'm your host, Jesse Yule. Today I want to talk about something a little bit different. So on a lot of the episodes lately I've been interviewing a lot of people. I want to change it up today and I really want to talk about From Fear to Freedom. So the, the title of this episode is going to be When Fear Loses Its Grip or When Fear Loses Its Voice, Freedom Speaks Louder. So, you know, this is going to be a little bit more raw and real coaching. This is also a reflection of a coaching session I had and then just some things I kind of worked on with myself and have done before. But I think it's really going to help you if you're a business owner listening to this. Even if you're not a business owner, I think you're still going to get a lot out of it. So I want to kind of get into this because this is going to help you with leading from a place of faith, a place of boldness and just having a clear vision. So again, I want to welcome you today. This is going to be different and I want to kind of hit on some things that, you know, oftentimes we walk through, but I want to walk through a process that, that I really use to, you know, put my business under a microscope. But not only that, just some things that I kind of identified that were maybe like holding my business back and you know, it really helped me kind of break free of things that I got clarity on and could really get confidence in and moving forward. So, you know, this, this, this kind of came from me working on my business and then I, you know, use this same thing and conversation with a client I had. But he really got out a lot out of it. And so I really feel like sharing this, you know, would be a big thing, so. Especially because, you know, I got a lot out of it. I know, you know, my client got out of it. But here's the thing is, oftentimes as a business owner, we can feel anxious. You know, we can feel worried. You know, maybe we're not making the money we think we should be making. Maybe we're not making the money we really, truly want to make. And so then we kind of, like, get this fear, and it almost can be a habit of. Of fear or anxious or worry around, you know, maybe finances. And we may not feel like we're moving forward at the speed that we should or that we feel like we could be. And, you know, what's important, I think, when this happens is that we can identify it immediately and that we can begin to kind of shift out of this place. But the first thing we have to do is, you know, we really have to get honest about, hey, where am I at? Like, what am I feeling? What's going on? And. And so as I kind of went through this, this really helped me, you know, get super clear on, hey, well, what do I actually want in my business? You know, what are some things that I actually want to work on? And it just kind of helps you refocus. And I think of, like, you know, maybe shooting a gun that has a scope on it, but that scope is kind of blurry, and it's kind of blurring out the target, so you're not seeing, you know, you're not seeing the target. It's. It's really blurry. You're not super clear, you know, on where you're going. And so the thing is, is oftentimes it may take you backing away, you know, getting something to clean that lens off or that scope off, so you can actually refocus and get super clear on what you're looking at. So, you know, for me, a lot of times, it's just really getting clear on, hey, what do I actually want in this situation? And then what are my action steps to actually do that? So, you know, here's the things that I kind of. Look, I have an expectation that I should, you know, be growing in my business, in my life at all times. And so if I feel like things are stagnant, I kind of get this unsettling feeling, like, okay, what's going on? Like, I need to change some things up. You know, sometimes I can also feel like, hey, why. Why do things feel so hard or so resistant? Because normally, you know, they don't feel like that, or normally, maybe they shouldn't. And then you kind of start like, hey, why am I. Why. Why am I not more successful than I could? And you, you kind of unconsciously start doing like, hey, I should be here or I should be there. And then what happens is we put a lot of pressure on ourselves. We, you know, maybe even we put shame on ourselves or, or we kind of like focus on. On feeling stuck, being stuck or feeling stuck. But then, you know, when you actually look at it, you realize maybe in some situations, you know, maybe you're holding yourself back, maybe you're not playing all in, or maybe you just haven't fully stepped into the thing that you actually want. And so, you know, as I, as I kind of sat there for a minute, I'm like, man, what if, like, what I'm doing is working? I just need to kind of fully step into it. I need to quit. You know, almost like, you know, I think of like, the cold plunge effect, right, is like, you know, it's like knowing you're going to step in, but it's like you step halfway in and it's almost like more. It gives you more anxiety. It gives you kind of like more fear or more pain because it's probably going to hurt worse if you just go in slower and you don't just go ahead and get all in. And so it really kind of helped me focus and kind of rewrite what I was doing. And so, you know, the cool thing is I got to kind of step back and look at. Hey, even though maybe some things might feel stagnant, there's actually some things that I've created. In the last, you know, six months to a year, I've created two new businesses, two new offers that are. I mean, they're. They took a lot of work and they took a lot of time. And so, you know, the thing is, is, you know, maybe I didn't feel like they're growing at the level they. They could be or should be. But again, you know, how many people are actually creating two new businesses in the span of six to eight months? You know, obviously from those, I've learned a lot about building, I've learned a lot about growing. And not only that, leading, and it's. It's brought a lot of clarity to kind of like, what I'm doing. But the cool thing is, is, like, I get to sit there and kind of map out, like, hey, these are actually all the things you've been working on. These are the actual things you've been able to do. And so, you know, rather than get lost in. In the fear, I actually gotta be like, man, you know, I can just step out with boldness and confidence, knowing that I can create a business and have it be profitable, have it be scalable. And not only that, that it kind of gives you the freedom that you can really step into anything that you want and create. Where, you know, for me, a long time, For a long time, I was super focused on, you know, my training facilities that I had, and that was really all I did. And, yes, I created stuff inside of there, but I never actually really created any other businesses outside of that. And then when I didn't have that, you know, I kind of felt this instability. But it taught me how to, you know, create a new business, to grow it, to scale it, and then to, you know, kind of make it. Make it almost manageable on its own. And so the cool thing is, is it's really helped me understand that whole process. So, you know, when. When, you know, when we talk about fear, what. What happens in that position is you start to recognize some of the things you're able to do. Fear loses its voice, and then freedom begins to speak louder, and you recognize that, you know, hey, there's really no limits that I have in what I'm creating and what I'm doing. And so the cool thing is, is you get to. I got to kind of step into that more. And, you know, what I want to kind of leave you with today is this. Like, listen, we're all going to experience fear at one point or other in our business, especially when we're trying to do new things, we're trying to make new moves. And not only that, but, you know, we're just. We feel like we're doing a lot of the right things, but it's. It's like we're not moving at the pace we. We feel like we should be. And so we need to really go back to, hey, what is the story I'm believing about my business? Because it's not often the business that's causing us pain. It's not the business that's really causing us fear. It's the story around it. And you guys, you know, maybe you've heard this, maybe you haven't. I mean, the. The story about fear is always actually worse than the reality of it. Okay? And so, you know, if you've ever done hard things, if you've ever, you know, done physical challenges, you know, I remember doing stuff with Navy SEALs back, you know, probably seven, eight years ago. And. And this thing would always come up. This thought is like the story of fear or the story of my. What might happen is always worse than the reality. And so I think it's important for us to kind of check ourselves and be like, hey, what story? I'm actually believing about my business or about the fear. And then what do you need to let go of in order to move forward? And I think that's really important because we can get really focused on the fear, and then that takes away from the freedom on the other side of that. And so I think it's important that we, you know, question our story. We question, you know, what we're believing, and then what would you need to let go of? And then, you know, I think what's really cool is like, recognizing that on the other side of fear is freedom, you know, and it's freedom of the story, you know, that you're ready to stop believing, and it's you creating a new story that actually begins to help you see a way out and get you what you actually want. And so I think the cool thing with this is oftentimes the path to freedom, it starts with fear, but it. But it ends, you know, with freedom. We just have to be willing to step into the fear and investigate it and be like, hey, you know, maybe this is the false evidence appearing real. Or, you know, we face everything and we run. And so the cool thing is, is the more we step into fear, the more that we step into, you know, what we're called to be, the. The more freedom that happens on the other side of that. And I think that's what's really important, is that we have to, you know, begin to step into the fear when we feel it versus, you know, oftentimes we want to retreat. That's a natural reaction. But so many of us, you know, including myself, you know, no matter how much I do things like this, we can always step into it even more. Sometimes, you know, if we're not, you know, doing work or going through questions like this, we may not recognize it. We may not even see it. And then all of a sudden it's like, man, I've been actually stuck here for a couple months, you know, now it's time to kind of break through. And so freedom is the breakthrough to fear you. You know, and. And so I think sometimes if we run away from that fear, we never actually experience the breakthrough of freedom when we step into it. You know, I've always. I've always seen in myself that anytime I've stepped into the fear. You know, I always experience that freedom and breakthrough on the other side of that. So guys, if you have any questions on today's podcast, maybe you're someone listening to this, you're like, man, I've really been stuck in fear. I need to step into it and I need to really have that breakthrough. This is your opportunity to do it.
