Let's go foreign.
Welcome back to the Habit based Lifestyle Podcast. I'm your host, Jesse Yule. Today we're going to be talking about breaking the belief and I really want to get into this episode today because, you know, I want to share something number one, raw. I think it's oftentimes what we as entrepreneurs will go through and you know, it's not very talked about either in, in this business space. You know, a lot of the conversation in the business world is we're always talking about, you know, things that have to do with, you know, hustle, grind, all those things. And I think, you know what, what can tend to happen is we're always talking about like that striving, we're always talking about the things that we need to be doing. And I think, you know, these conversations where we talk about some of the beliefs we have or, or some of those things, but we don't actually like break those down and get a talk about them. So I'm going to go through just some of the lessons I learned from, you know, some of the work I do daily is I have to remind myself to do some of the work that I'm doing because it's really easy to coach people on what they need to do and then there kind of creates blind spots in your own business because you're always used to coaching other people. You don't actually look at like your own business. You don't actually take a step back and do those things. So there's this belief that I kind of came came to and I was like, hey, I need to make money in my business. And I know it sounds really practical, but it's almost like, it's almost like a story that I catch myself saying over and over, I need to make money, you know, in my business. I need to do this in my business. But what, you know, what I found is, is anytime we say we need to do something or I say I need to do something, it comes with a cost. And oftentimes, you know, need comes from a place of, of lack. It comes from a place of like, fear. It comes from a place of, you know, kind of like doubt or not being clear. And you know, think about it this way is if, if we're needy work, we're lacking clarity, we're lacking power, we're lacking like peace. And we can almost get into this place of like self sabotaging and really just slowing down growth. Like, it, it kind of becomes like this weird thing. So I, I think about, you know, even oftentimes I'll bring up the fitness industry because, you know, there's so many things in the fitness industry that are relatable when it comes to like losing weight that are, are really similar to like business where somebody's like, hey, I need to lose £20. Like, needing to do something is never actually going to get you to do it. And that's what I think is really the point of this is like, hey, when I say something like I need to make money, I need to lose weight, it almost puts you in a position where you're, you're like a victim to that story. And you know, needing isn't what's actually going to take you or take you to get action or take help you take action. Okay, so going through that, number one, is like understanding that, you know, what is the real story. I'm telling myself what is the real issue that's happening? And, and so I started to kind of go through my, some of the work that I do. And it's, it's oftentimes it's called like a reframe. Like, hey, what is the story I'm telling myself? How do I reframe it and get to a place where I can, you know, inquire about it, but I can also work my way out of it. So one of the things that I kind of came to was a realization to where when I tell that story, you know, I create fear, I create tension, I overthink, I hesitate. You know, maybe even like this. I work at like 50% of 100% of what I know I can, I stop building, you know, I, I hesitate. And, and, and so then I get to this place where it's like, okay, well who would I be or what might be possible without that thought? And you know, what was really cool is you Kind of see clearly how much different your life would be, how much different your mindset would be if you began to see that thought clearly. So, you know, I would be bold. I'd play bigger. I would go all in. I'd stop second guessing. I'd create from a place of power, not a place of pressure. And you know what's cool about that is that one of the big insights I had was I am the seed. When I grow, everything around me grows. And, and I want you to kind of think of like, you know, the, the idea in the Bible is that, that, you know, God is going to give us the seed, but what we do with it determines our, our destiny. And so if I'm the seed, I'm receiving the seed, depending on how I plan it, how I cultivate it, how I water it, determines what I actually am going to get out of that seed. Is it, Am I going to. Am I going to curate it and make sure that it grows? Am I going to water it? Am I going to take care of it? Because when I grow, everything grows around me. And, and so when my seed's not growing, there's something that I'm doing and not taking care of that to make sure that I get the most out of it. And so that was a really cool insight. But business is often a reflection of our inner thoughts, our inner mindset. And if we're not careful, we can get into a place where, you know, we think about the seed. The seed is, is like, what are you doing with this seed? Are you watering it, you cultivating it? Are you weeding around it? Or are you allowing things? Are you allowing weeds in, negative things in that are distracting you from focusing on, you know, your own growth, focusing on everything around you, focusing on what is the bigger goal. And so as I sat there, you know, you kind of like, start to realize that, hey, if I'm taking care of this seed, if I'm planting it, if I'm cultivating it, if I'm, you know, really in a place of growth, I'm rooted in purpose, I have alignment. And then whatever happens with that seed is typically it's going to multiply. Okay? And so when our seed begins to multiply, that means we're living in purpose. That means we're living in alignment. That means we're living in a place of truth, which is the most powerful place, you know, that we can be. So, you know, that was a huge thing. And I think a lot of times for entrepreneurs, like, we're not, we're not Investigating those thoughts. And the cool thing, you know, the cool thing is, is we have the ability to do that. We have the ability to ask ourselves question. And at times I can forget, you know, and not do that. I can get so caught up in other people's stuff, their businesses that I can forget about my own seeds, I can forget about my own growth. And that can be super frustrating. So here's a couple things that I got out of it. Number one is reminding myself to clarify my mission to, to tap into my mission every morning to tap into my business and just be like, hey, how am I going to grow my business today? So whether that's, you know, more leads, whether that's educating myself, whether that's taking time out just to go through inquiry, I have to make sure that I'm doing that. I also have to make sure that I'm doing sales productive work on a day to day basis. Which means what is the measurable outcome I'm looking for in my business day to day from a leads perspective and sales perspective? Because if I don't have leads, I don't have sales, I don't have a business. Okay. The next thing is, you know, launching. I think we can get caught up in building things all the time. Like we're building offers, we're building new things in our business. But where I can get caught up in not doing is, is literally launching whatever it is that I'm building. Like oftentimes we get into a place where we want more information, more knowledge, but hesitate on launching and, and really taking time on a day to day basis to make sure that whatever service I pro program I have, I'm launching and doing something towards launching that thing. Okay. And, and so that was a huge part. And then the last part is to anchor this in by teaching this concept or teaching these lessons. So taking daily, whether it's on video, whether it's on podcasts, to teach the lessons I'm learning about the things that I'm going through. Because if I'm going through it, I can guarantee that other entrepreneurs are thinking the same thing. Whether they talk about it or not, it doesn't really matter. But I know if I'm thinking about it, I know if I'm dealing with it, other people are going to be doing the same thing. So final word is, you know, just thinking of like, I took that story that I need to make money in my business and kind of like realize that it's not about making money, it's about growing. I need to grow, I need to grow and I need to make sure I'm doing the work in and around my business, in and around my seed to make sure that it's growing, to make sure that I'm growing. Because when I grow, my business grows, my clients grow and everything around me does. So growth is not going to happen if you're not planting the seed and if you're not taking care of the seed, then you're not going to grow, your business isn't grow going to grow and your clients aren't going to grow.
