Way back in the day we have Jill Zarin on our podcast. We had a lovely talk and then headlines were made all around the world because I asked Jill if she would ever go back to Roni and she gave an answer. And then there were headlines and she didn't like them. And then we had a major falling out. Now, we've already talked about this. We've talked about our fallout with Jill. We made up with Jill. There's no hard feelings. Everything is good. But on Sundays, we share some episodes that are getting lost on the back feed. Now, this is one of them. People often ask me, where is the episode that led to this fallout with Jill? Now, everything is fine. Now Jill, I know you're listening because first of all, all the housewives listen to this podcast and let's face Jill, I know you listen, and there's no shade in that. There's no harm. I'm not mad. Don't get mad. I'm not shading you, Jill. I like you, but especially when you see your name in the title. I know you're listening. So I'm not trying to reignite this feud by resharing this episode. Don't take it personal. There's. You're nothing special, Jill, is what I'm trying to say. We share old episodes that are lost on the back feed, and today we are up to July 15, 2020. Three years ago, when we sat down for this chat, which led to headlines that you didn't like, which led to a fallout, which led to me calling you a fucking bitch on air, which led to you calling me, which led to us moving on in life. We have moved on. We have Patty Stanger in common, our good friend. So this is nothing personal, Jill. I hope you're having a great time and everything is good. And we're sharing this with you guys today. So, you know, I'm curious what everyone thinks about this chat. The one, the only. I mean, you can't have an OG show without her. Basically, the whole thing fell apart because she didn't sign the contract and she wanted more money. That's a real og. I'm putting respect on your name, girl. The one and only Ms. Jill Zarin. Hey, guys, this is David. Welcome back. Behind the velvet rope, we are joined by the one and only OG herself, Ms. Jill Zarin.
Thank you, David. Nice to say hello again.
How are you? I mean, good.
I am good.
You're busy. You're having a.
We are so busy. I'm busier now than I was before COVID That's for sure. Play tennis every day and work on my stuff in the afternoon. Now I'm working 24 hours a day.
And so you are in Florida, where you're quarantining, right?
Quarantining in my house in Florida, in Boca Raton, of course. Where does a nice Jewish girl from Long island end up with my daughter, my boyfriend, and my parents. I live in the same community as.
My parents, so that's nice, right?
Oh, my God, it's the best. My dad comes here every day and he stays here for about six hours, and he does the stock market stuff, and then he takes a nap. I'm doing an interview.
Say hi.
Well, you can't see. Oh.
I wanted to see, but that's okay.
Horrific. I look Horrific. And where was I? So, yeah, I just. That was Allie coming in to check on me.
I figured.
And then my dad goes and takes a nap outside in the sun, and then he's convinced that that's gonna kill all the coronavirus. And then he comes back and I make him lunch. Today I made him sea bass with mushrooms in a shallot sauce. Like, I love to cook for my dad. And then, of course, everyone else gets to eat. So I make lunch for everybody every day, and we work all day and all night. And now we're in the mask business. So my boyfriend and I started this, you know, mask business, and then my daughter and I started taking the solids and dyeing them. And so I didn't even realize that tie dye was such a big trend this year, because it's always a trend. But, like, this year it's always on incredible trend. And so we are making masks. I make them myself. My hands are black from dye or blue. Literally black and blue. I do it at 6 in the morning, and I do them at like, 7 at night. And, you know, it takes a long time to make them, and only about maybe half of the ones I make are great, you know, so. And then the others, you know, we donate to different charities, and it's really incredible. We got our first retail store today.
Oh, wow.
Confirmed. We're going to be selling zittomers in New York City. And, yeah, it's really exciting.
And this is in this ties. Is this the official Nauseous for Nurses? Like, do you give a portion? Like, how does that work within that?
No, we don't. They're two separate things. So Nauseous for Nurses. Nauseous for Nurses was something that we started at the beginning of COVID when I was listening to my sister's radio show live with Lisa Wexler. And. And she had a guest on who was talking about how Bill and Hillary Clinton had donated pizza pies to the local hospital. And I said to Allie, you know, that's what we should do. We should send food to Boca Regional. And the idea was born. And then Gary came up with the name Nauseous for Nurses. And then we decided I funded it myself. I probably donated $10,000. And then I said, you know, I can't do this by myself. Let's see if we can raise some money. And we started to go fund me. And altogether, I think we raised about 60,000, spent about 80, and still doing it. We never said no to one request, and we're hoping we never have to. But the Requests have gone down, but the need has gone down. So what happened was then we started to pivot into masks. And now all the nurses that we were giving free food to, now we're sending free masks to. And they are not medical masks, and they're not meant to replace a medical mask, but they're definitely worn in hospitals underneath the medical mask because that way it doesn't irritate their skin in. My dad's here. Daddy, you leaving? I'm on the phone. Everything all right? I can't do it now. No, Tell Gary to do it. My father wants to do a stock trade.
I love that you have the whole family there.
And I've got two people working here, and I. So I get everybody tested every two weeks, and that's smart. The two people who are from the outside working for me both tested positive for the COVID but they have the antibody. I got so lucky. So lucky. So we're the ones who are at risk. They're fine. You know, we're all at risk.
I mean, this is just what I picture when I picture Jill and Boca. I picture Allie and Gary and the whole. The whole house full of. Seriously now, how. I mean, you know, you think Jill, Zarin. You don't think mass. Like, how did you. Where did this idea come from? I mean, other than the fact that it's Covid.
We were trying. Well, right. We were trying to pivot. And I'm an entrepreneur, you know, And Alison lost her job at the beginning. She was working for Paddle8, which just filed bankruptcy. And, you know, I didn't want her to be. And she didn't want to just sit around collecting unemployment like everybody else. I mean, of course she is, but, you know, she needed to start her own business, and. And that's what we're doing.
Wow.
But we did. We wanted to do it with a purpose. So the purpose is for every mask we sell, we donate one. And we've donated over 4,000 masks, and every day we continue to do it. And the packaging is gorgeous. It's like Mylar, you know, that multicolor. Not multicolor. It's like kind of mirrored kind of packaging. It's really cool. And we have stickers that say Jill and Ally masks on them. I mean, it's really a cottage, you know, a cottage business for us, a homemade business. And people are. And now I started tiktoking yesterday. My first TikTok. Unbelievable. I did. Somebody told me that there was a TikTok of Ramona walking the Runway and me saying, you know, how she. Her neck was like a giraffe and blah, blah, blah, and her eyes were bulging. So I did it. I mimicked myself doing it. It's very cool. You have to go on my TikTok.
Oh, Jill, I already saw that yesterday. That popped right up. It's funny because I was gonna talk to you about TikTok. I thought it was great. Well, first of all, I'm like, Jill has joined TikTok. Cause I also saw the one where Ali pushed you in the pool.
My God. What about the dog? The dog is the best one.
I didn't know it's on TikTok.
You got to see it, bossy. Well, what happened was, is one of the girls I hired, like an expert in TikTok. And what's great. I can't believe it. When she was in college and she just graduated, she took a course in it. Like, they give courses in how to use TikTok. Did you know that?
No.
And by the way, I'd like to take it. I want to go back to school and I want to learn Photoshop, social media, you know, marketing, like today versus, you know, how to. I would say I'd want to learn Facebook analytics and how to. How to run ads and do an ad campaign and understand how to read the analytics. That's.
I. All I know is I try to do TikTok and I have to go back on. I didn't really focus on it. It made no sense to me. It made no sense because you meet.
You may be you're too old. How old are you?
I am not young. I'm not young.
Are you over 40?
I'm over. I am around. I'm 45.
All right. You're over 30.
Yes.
Okay. That's really the qualification. If you're over 30, you're too old.
You're too old. So how'd you find. How did you. Did she.
This is 21 years old. Allie's 27, and she can't TikTok. I don't wanna say she can't. She didn't know how to do it. She didn't understand it. And now this new girl who I hired is. Is teaching her. And of course she's going to pick it up a lot quicker than you or I would because they understand it better. But even she, like. But she would never admit it. Like, when I would say, Alison, let's start TikTok. I mean, I saw so and so do a TikTok. I saw Ramona do a TikTok with Avery. I was jealous. I Want to do one? And I'm like, let's do a dance or whatever. And she's like, no, no, no. But the real truth is, she didn't know how. That's why she didn't want to do it. So now she's learning how to do it.
You've cut. I mean, I guess your inspiration was Ramona and Avery. So that's a good.
You know, a lot of people. Like, a friend of mine, my friend Brian, he went viral. Millions, he did. Viral where he was. You probably know it, too. Cause, you know, you've been watching. He was holding his hairbrush as a mic.
Oh, yeah.
Remember that one?
Yeah.
He washed the window, and then he washed it back. I don't know. There's so many good ones where you erase it and you. I love the ones where they turn into different clothes.
Yeah, that's really.
But it takes so much work and time, and you don't make any money.
Would you have ever thought that this is what would explode? Like, why couldn't I have thought of this idea?
Well, I don't even know if there's any money in it, but I will tell you. I was talking to my dad yesterday. He comes in. My father's 91. He looks. I mean, he looks 70. I mean, which I'm sure is old to most people. But my father, if you look at him on my Instagram, he just had a birthday last week. My father looks so good. Anyway. God. Kind of how I should. I shouldn't even say it. Anyway, my dad's so cute. So I got him an iPhone about a year ago because he had other phones, but they weren't. He didn't want an iPhone. I finally forced him into it, and I put the stock market on it and all the things that he needs. And he comes into my room yesterday, and he's like, he got something from a doctor's office to download an app so that they could, you know, give him his appointments and all that stuff. And I set the whole thing up for him. And I said, you know, Daddy, did you ever think, like, in the 90s, he was born in 1929. Did you think before World War II? Did you think, like, when you were a little boy, I don't know, 10, 15 years old, that there would be anything like this? I'm like, you didn't even have calculators, did you? And he says, seriously? They used a slide rule, something like that. A slide rule. This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Listening to this podcast.

I have no time to be cleaning a bunch of pans. But listen, here's the deal. There's a lot of pans out there that don't stick, right? Well, I never thought about it before, but recently, you know, guys, you guys know I'm super health conscious. It came to my attention that most traditional nonstick pans are made with plastic coatings that can turn toxic with heat. No thanks. But that's the great thing about green pan. Forget the plastic coating. They introduce the world to ceramic nonstick cookware that have over 150 patents to prove it. They're the leaders in creating cookware without harmful toxins. But let me also tell you, the pans look high end. They feel high end. I mean, and that's important too, right? They have cookware collections. They also carry kitchen appliances like slow cookers and waffle makers bakeware. And for me, now I can sleep at night because I mean, harmful toxins related to my cooking and cookware. No thanks. It's crazy, you know, like, I mean, imagine what it must be like. And even us. Like, I remember a time where I was in the car and didn't have a cell phone. And then you track me and there was no gps. I remember using maps to get around and. I sound very old, right. I used to use the actual map. We used to go to, you know, the gas station and buy a map of New York state so that we could get to where we had to go.
I remember standing in line for concert tickets when I went to. When I wanted to see Madonna in high school. Now, if I didn't know I was gay then, I don't know, I was.
Just gonna say, were you gay in high school?
I wasn't out, no. But I guess I should have been. I mean, I went to see Madonna and Culture Club and Cyndi Lauper, but I remember.
Were you sexually attracted to them? I mean, not Madonna, but, like, Boy George or any of the John. I don't know.
Yeah. Like, I mean, listen, I definitely knew I was gay, kind of, you know.
Did you ever date girls?
I did. I had a girlfriend in high school for two years, a nice Jewish girl.
Are you friends with her still?
We are. Can you believe that?
Of course I can believe it. Because you were probably her best friend.
I was literally her best friend. We used to. We. It was. We were in Connecticut. Her parents had a weekend apartment in New York. They're in Connecticut in Orange. So it's, like, outside New Haven.
Okay. Okay.
It's like a suburb of New Haven. So her parents had an apartment in New York. And so a lot of weekends, we would tell her parents to stay home, and we would come into New York and go shopping and then go to Serendipity.
Okay. We would go shopping. Like, I went into New York, and I think we did drugs. I'm generation. We went into the clubs at night, and I used to. I remember going. I should even say, right. I remember going, driving with my friends, and we would party all night long. I mean, that's what you did in 1979, you know, and I was like, 16 years old or whatever, and we would. I would remember, like, 5, 6 in the morning, you know, driving. My friend, driving. I didn't drive back to my house and praying that my parents were still sleeping, you know, like, please don't be out because they were early birds. Please don't be up. Please don't be up and sneaking into the house. And I remember one time, I think I snuck in and they were away. I was like, oh, shit. I know. You were sneaking. You were coming into the city to.
Go shopping and then go to Serendipity. So there you go.
Oh, I did that too.
Right.
Serendipity. I don't think you had to be gay for that. And I actually lived down the block from there, so I didn't. I didn't move far, which is funny. Do you know I was at Serendipity. I don't. You're too young for this one. But I remember I must have been maybe 17, 18 when President Reagan was shot.
Oh, really?
Do you remember? I don't even know if you know that. You may not even know that President Reagan was shot.
That I know.
Well, I don't think he was shot. He was shot at. And that other guy got hit with the bullet and he ended up the Brady Bill. That was the Brady Bill.
Yeah. Like John Hinckley. Right? Because of Jodie Foster. Right.
Was it John Hinckley? Maybe.
I thought so. And it was because of Jodie Foster.
That I know that I don't remember the connection. I remember the names, but I don't remember the guy. But I was Serendipity when it happened. Those are like moments where. When something happens, like 911 or whatever where you're like. You freeze that moment in time in your head and you remember where you were, you know?
Yeah.
911 in my head from that. President being shot is Serendipity.
Even if that's still there, right? That's still open.
Still there. And they license their name. They actually have a little outlet in Boca Raton at the Boca Beach Hotel.
Oh, wow.
But you know what? I have such food issues that I won't eat it because it's too fattening yet. I'll eat ice cream all night long. Like, I'll eat ice cream till like two in the morning at home. But I won't go to Serendipity and order a frozen hot chocolate. Cause it's too fattening.
You just like to listen. I actually almost understand that you just like to do your eating at home, I think.
No, it's just that I can rationalize calories and all this other stuff. Like, I figure if I don't eat dinner, then I can have ice cream. But maybe if I ate dinner, I wouldn't want ice cream, you know? So it's.
See, And I just drink my dinner. So there you go.
Well, so do most people. So you're not alone, at least in New York.
Well, everyone I talk to is like, I'm not really drinking during quarantine just because I've been alone and I haven't had it. And everyone's like, you must have lost so much weight. I'm like the opposite. All I do is eat because I'm not drinking.
Oh, I could see that.
I could see.
Where are you quarantining?
David basically stayed. I was in the Hamptons a little bit, and then I was in Greenwich for, like, a minute. But I've been in New York for the most part. You know what it is? In the beginning, I didn't want to leave because I had so much to do with work, and it was just easier to stay here. And then, like, in the middle, I wanted to leave, but it was not really safe to leave. You know what I mean?
Really? You didn't think it was safe to go out to the Hamptons or Greenwood?
Well, you know what it is, because I also don't drive, so I would have to do public transportation, or I guess I could have taken an Uber out. So, like, in the beginning, I wanted to stay here. Then somewhere in the middle, when it was really bad, I was too afraid to even leave my apartment at one point.
That bad?
At one point?
Do you live in an apartment building?
Yeah. So, like. But then, like, the gym closed.
You worried about the elevator?
I was worried about the elevator, too. Like, in the height of it, I wasn't leaving at all. And I don't cook, so I was still getting food delivery, but I was ordering enough food for, like, days and days.
How big is your. How big is your building? How many floors?
16. So it's like a real.
So what percentage of the building would you say have left the city, even temporarily?
In the beginning, I feel like most people left. They said, like, only 40% of the building were here.
And now.
Now it's so, like, I was away for a week now I feel just being back for, like, a day or two, it feels like 60%. Like. It feels like there's more people. Like, people.
And things are opening, right? The restaurants are now opening.
Yeah. Like New York.
David, If I wait long enough. I mean, this was my help in the beginning. If I wait long enough. Because I come to Florida for the winter anyway.
Right?
So my winter got extended. But I'm hoping that, like, if I wait long enough, when I do go back to New York, it'll be like it never happened.
I. Well, that's what I was asking Patti. I was like, is Jill ever coming back to New York?
Well, I was planning to come back next weekend because my sister's daughter, my niece, is getting married. We begged her to put it off. She does not want to. And in fact, she Moved it up. She was supposed to get married in January. Now she moved it up to August because she figured, you know, why wait till January if you're not gonna have a big wedding anyway? Because of COVID Which makes sense, but. So she's having a surprise shower. Hopefully, she's not listening. Or she was having a splash hour. Now I don't even know. So my sister said, you know, you better come. You better come. And then she's like, I don't care if you come. Not that you don't care, but, like, I understand if you don't. And then Ali said this morning that we, the. The governor now quarantined New York from Floridians. Or is it from everyone? Is it everyone coming into New York is quarantine, or is it only Florida?
I thought. I mean, I really stopped watching the news because I can't take it anymore. I thought, though, it was everyone. That's what I thought. But maybe I'm wrong.
Irrelevant, because it concludes me either way. So the thing is, is, you know, we're in the mask business, right? So we want to protect ourselves. We want to protect people. I happen to my family here, we get tested off. I said this already. We get tested every two weeks because. Because I make masks, I feel it's a responsibility to be as safe as I could possibly be. Is it possible I get Covid after I've been tested within that two weeks? Of course it is, but unlikely, because we really don't go anywhere. And I'm lucky because the two people I ended up hiring, first of all, whenever I hire someone, I immediately have them tested, and both of them positive for the antibody.
How lucky? You're lucky. You're lucky.
One said she never felt one symptom, and the other one thinks she might have had it in February because she had a little cold, but, you know, basically nothing. Which is, you know, that's the thing. It's a lottery. You know, you could get it and end up on a ventilator, or you can get it and you never knew you had it. Anyway, so I have two people working for me who are, you know, completely safe. And then the three of us obviously aren't, and we get tested. So I would get tested before I came to New York, but Ali said that we would get crucified by the media press. Well, because Ramona running around, and she's getting crucified, but she doesn't care. I do care. And also, I'm selling masks. I'm responsible.
Ramona has just gotten crucified by her good friend Leah.
That I didn't know.
Well, I think, first of all, she's getting. You're right. She's getting crucified by the media. And then I guess because she's now in The Hamptons, Leah McSweeney, you know, from Real Housewives of New York. She didn't. Okay, she didn't. In her fairness, I shouldn't start a rumor. She didn't mention Ramona's name, but she.
Okay, what'd she say?
But she did say, you know, something like some of my. She did a video like some of my co stars or my co stars now running around, you know, ran around in Florida enjoying life when nothing was happening in Florida and New York was suffering. And now that Florida's suffering, she gets on a plane and is now back in New York. And now she's going out here and we put in the work. And you enjoyed your time in Florida when the numbers were low, and now that our numbers are low and Florida's numbers are going higher, you're back. So you're basically gonna go wherever you can live your life and basically fuck you. Kind of what she said.
Wow. I thought you were just gonna say that. I didn't think you were gonna say that. I thought to say that they're mad at her because she, you know, because she's breaking quarantine. Period. The end. I thought you were just gonna say people are mad at her for breaking quarantine and not, you know, not quarantine. But she could say, technically, I think quarantine started after she arrived. But it's not about the letter of the law. It's about the. And the spirit and the fact that she, you know, I'm not comparing her and me, but I'm home, you know, 99% of the time. And she's been out 99% of the time. And I get tested every two weeks and I'm still not comfortable coming to New York because we don't want to spread it, God forbid.
Totally. And I think what you're saying is right. Like the perception, like, do you ever have you run into her down there or just. I mean, that's the perception that she's out and about or was out and about.
There's no way I could run into it because I didn't leave the house. No, I have to rent. Where am I going to rent her? My driveway?
That's fine.
We're literally home. And that's not really true. I mean, I do go to the store. I haven't been to Costco in a month, but I do go to my local grocery store because it's local, small and there aren't a lot of people there. But I think we've been to maybe two restaurants twice we went out to eat and we sat outside in a.

But I didn't break any rules like we were allowed to. I will, you know. Yeah. I'm not gonna say it. I mean, I'll tell you. Step offline.
Please do.
Are people breaking. Breaking rules, breaking laws?
That's what I've heard. I mean, that's good that you've taken it serious, you know, I mean, I took it really listen. I mean, there was a real listen. It's not like we're out of it now, you know, I mean, I think that's the problem. Like, there is this false sense of security now. Like, I've even relaxed my.
Know anybody who's gotten it recently?
No.
Do you know anyone who got it at all? Not really.
Not really. Do you?
I probably have a bigger. I have a wider span of people in my life. Yes. I know about 20 people who have it.
Wow.
But nobody in the hospital, you know.
Like, I know people that thought they had it that. But nobody that really said for sure they got it or that I really.
Know definitely, you know, who was sick but not hospitalized, thank God. And my best friend. One of my best friends is a nurse practitioner, and she flies up every weekend to work at Bellevue. And she stays in my apartment. I let her stay in my apartment for nothing because it's empty anyway. And what's nice is she's been able to bring over some doctors from Bellevue to enjoy the terrace because, you know, they need a break, these doctors. And I was scared to even post that on social media because I thought I'd get killed because all these doctors were on my terrace and they took a group photo together. Now, they were wearing masks, but they were, like, kind of huddled, you know, in a group picture. And I'm like, I'm gonna get crucified for that. Even though they're the doctors at Bellevue, you know, they'll kill me. I'm so scared, you know, getting crucified over anything.
Seriously. And, I mean, you have everything going on down there, and you're working really hard, so why did you ever think you were gonna be working this hard? I mean, this is different than the Jill we saw in Real Housewives of New York. Not that, you know, you just. It seems like you work a lot now.
Well, I always worked. I mean, I'm a worker bee. I mean, no matter how rich I am or whatever, I'll always work. It's just in my DNA. I find it very rewarding. And this work I find the most rewarding because we're really saving lives. I mean, that. I don't want to overstate. We're not saving lives. If you protect someone with a mask and they don't get sick, you are. You know, I feel like we're doing God's work with feeding nurses and taking care of them, and we're giving them masks. You know, I get. You know, we'll get, like, we'll get an email from somebody. I got one just like yesterday from Arizona, a woman, and she says, are you giving away free masks? I don't have any money, and could you send me a free mask? And somebody in my team, doesn't matter who, whatever, was like, questioning whether we should or we shouldn't. And, you know, is it setting a precedent? Because we're giving to nurses, and now are we going to just. And I said, you know, anybody who's in such bad shape that they have to email me for a 10 or 20 or $30 mask really needs it. Because then they said to me, should we charge shipping? And I'm like, they can't afford a mask. They definitely can't afford shipping. So either we give it or we don't. And of course we sent it because it's like, I don't. It's not about setting a precedent. It's not. Listen, millions of people are not emailing me for masks. One person said, I'm not a nurse. And she was honest, because if she said she was a nurse, we would have sent it anyway, because we don't ask for credentials. If somebody says to me, we're a nurse, we're a doctor, my husband's a firefighter, we don't question. We are on an honor system. You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Why, you know, then you're a liar, but I'm not. You know, we don't question. So she could have been a liar, and she wasn't. She was honest. So we sent it because I'm like, if she's really in that bad shape that she needed to reach out for a mask, I'll send her a mask.
Right? And who's going to really go out of their way to make up this whole story that they can't afford it? That's just.
You know, I always say that about homeless people on the street, you know, because a lot of people, like, don't give money to the homeless because, you know, they're out there making more money than I am and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I said, they're not, A, they're not making more money than you, B, I don't see you outside home, you know, with a cup if you have. If things are so bad in your life that you have to beg for money and you should never have it happen to you. You can, you can give them a dollar or two. It ain't gonna make a difference in your life, but it's gonna make a difference in their life. You know, I have a whole different feeling on giving, so. Yeah, you know, I'm very much about tithing everything I make to giving.
That's really good way in a. Ali must be thrilled. I mean, she has, you know, she's part of the business, so that must be amazing.
Ali's become an entrepreneur and you know, once you give it, you can't take it away. So she's really enjoying this whole process. And I don't know what she's gonna do after this is over. How's she ever gonna go back to work?
It's. I think it's gonna be hard. Maybe this will. I mean, it seems like it's taking off if you just got an order and now you're in.
And we have another big order we're waiting on. You know, big is relative to a couple stores. And you know, it's. We won the Today show yesterday and that really helped our business. And it's really word of mouth. You know, the most gratifying thing is when someone who bought from us buys again because then, you know, you gave them a great product. My five star reviews, David, you should read them really. Well, first of all, I found out that I didn't realize how much people appreciate a good smelling mask. They smell. Smell great.
Really? I just love the tie dye aspect. You, like had. As soon as I saw those, I was like.
Because we use great laundry detergent. I don't use cheap stuff. I use great laundry detergent.
Oh, wow.
Anyway, Daddy, $120. Okay. I'm sorry.
I was gonna ask you, what would Bobby say about this?
Bobby would be so proud of me, right? I did. I sent mass to his family.
I did.
Daddy, I'm on the phone. He doesn't see me on the phone because I'm. To the computer. He doesn't. My dad's a little hard to hear him. Yes, I, you know, I still am in contact with some of Bobby's family who I love very much. And I. We without ask. They didn't ask us for anything. I just. We've sent out a lot of masks to people and they were, you know, very happy.
Wow. What is. And what does Gary say about all this? Is he like, oh, my God, you're working.
Yeah. He's so proud.
He loves it.
He's doing his own thing and I'm doing my thing.
And he's doing well.
Very. You know, it's a tough time. It's tough right now, but, yeah, he's doing the best he can do.
And do we see any wedding bells in your future, Jill?
I don't know. I hope so, one day. Not now. Not now.
Not during.
Not now. I don't want to get married now and I don't want to get married before my daughter does.
Really? Yeah.
Have a nice Jewish boyfriend? I need to find her a boy first. I taught him Dating Covid. How do people date?
Well, that we need. I. We have to talk to your good friend Patty Stangor about that.
Well, she doesn't have anyone for Ally either.
Do I have any nice Jewish boys? That's a really good question. Out of everyone I speak to all day, you would think that somebody would be. Because I'm thinking she wants somewhat age appropriate too, right?
That's 30.
Okay. Now that you put it out there, you know, I'm gonna make this my side mission in life.
I'll tell you the best thing about Ally. I mean, there's so many great things about her, but she's got the most gorgeous blue eyes. And, you know, I think that wearing a mask, the only asset that someone has is your eyes. So she does benefit from the, you know, mask scenario.
That's true. And she could date in New York or in Florida.
Oh, yeah, she'll relocate. You know.
Do you think any. I mean, like, look, you're definitely working really hard, so I'm not. Do you think any. Like, do you ever look back and say, because I was on, you know, Rho. And why. Like, that's helped with my success. Like, it's gotten my name out there, you know, like, not.
I can't even. I don't even know. I mean, I wouldn't have been able to do if not for. I mean, I would have done something else. I just don't know what it would have been, but. Oh, if not for the housewives, I wouldn't have my rug line. My rug line is doing so well. My outdoor rugs, the price is like a hundred bucks, average. They're unbelievable. Bossy. My dog, she's such a nut job. She loves to pee on my rugs, which I know is disgusting. And someone wrote it yesterday to me and Jill. It's so disgusting. I'm like, I know it's disgusting and I'm not happy she does it, but you Train her. I don't know how to train her anyway, so I train her. I take her outside, I open the door, I let her go anywhere she wants outside. You can go under this tree. You can go under that tree. Guess where she goes. Right to my outdoor rugs. Pees right on my outdoor rug. Could you not pee on the grass? She pees on my outdoor rug. But the funny thing is is the pee literally sat as a puddle on the rug for like four hours. I wanted to see how long it would take for it to actually absorb. It never did. It evaporated. That's it. Had to get, you know, the heat made it evaporate. My rugs are so waterproof outside that it didn't absorb at all. It doesn't absorb water. They're amazing.
And $100 is a great price point.
Oh my God, 100 bucks. It's unbelievable. So the rugs are doing great. My master doing great. And now we're developing, I'm starting to do some other home products that are going to come out in the fall. And one of them is a clock line. I'm doing clocks.
Really?
Yeah.
This is Jill's Aaron home. I saw it's like this. That's like a relatively new Instagram page right now.
It's my work.
I think it's because of the mass I now tie it in is like a whole clock. Clocks would be great though.
Oh my God. And they're like ten, twenty dollar clocks and they're gorgeous.
What is, what are they gonna look like?
Modern. Modern. But has my name on it and my logo. Really nice. They're really great. Very excited.
You could be a whole like mini Martha. You can be the Jewish Martha Stewart.
I'm working on it. I'm working on it and I love it. You know, it's very satisfying. But the best part is I get to work with Allie and Gary every day.
Yeah, that's gotta be.
Sometimes we don't get along, sometimes we fight, but we always have to make up, so it's okay.
But that's okay. Cause you don't always. I mean, people don't always get along with their co workers anyway.
I know, Tell me about it.
Do you? I mean, I know you've really moved on and we're not gonna dwell on Real Housewives of New York, I promise. But like, do you watch this current? Like, do you watch it at all now?
I do, but it's not on right now.
Right. I don't know.
Why is it off?
I think it's that I Mean, I'm just making this up. I think it's part that they need to space things out because nobody's. That's what I thought.
I thought maybe they ran out of that. They didn't catch up to editing.
But that's. That's the other thing that I was gonna say.
They announced it or was it like. Like, did anybody know? I didn't even know the show wasn't going on for three weeks.
They announced it somewhere. Yes.
And Andy, is he still doing his show? Cause I haven't watched in a while.
Yeah, that's still, like, it's. I think it takes its breaks, but watch what happens is still going on from home.
Oh, wow.
What do you think of this season?
I don't really remember where we are.
What do you think of Leah?
Love her. I love Leah. Love, love, love her. And we sent her masks. We sent a lot of the Housewives masks. We did.
Leah tells it like it is, right? Yeah.
I think I would have had a lot of fun with her if I had been on when she was on.
And Tinsley. We're happy about Tinsley getting married.
Yeah. Is she married or.
I mean, engaged in moving to Chicago and leaving the show?
I don't know. Does she still post or did she go dark?
I haven't checked hers in a day or two.
No, but a day or two ago. Is she still posting?
She was as of a few days ago.
She was or was not?
She was.
Okay. I don't know, because I thought maybe she would go private with Scott.
You know what it is? Tinsley was never like, as far as a housewife. She was never really a poster. She's not an over poster, let's put it that way.
I mean, I didn't think, you know, she's a. She's a rich girl. You know, she comes from a lot of money. I don't know. You know, I didn't think that. I thought that maybe with. With. With her fiance. They may not want to, you know, do the whole social media anymore, but, you know, you never know.
I was just looking to see if she posted like four days ago.
I'm happy for her. Good for her.
Good for her. Right. And Leah's great. I think you and Leah would be great together.
We would be. We would be. Love her.
And how's your good friend Luann? I know you guys are close.
I haven't spoken to her. No, not in the last few weeks. No.
I think she's in Sag harbor still.
Yeah, I saw she put her house up for sale?
Yes. The one up.
I'm not surprised you can't live in, you know, so many houses.
I think a lot of people, because of COVID are like, kind of re. You know, like, I think. I don't know, I've gotten the sense of, like. A lot of people are simplifying their lives. I don't know. I just feel that way.
I started doing that before COVID It's funny, you know. Yeah. I sold my apartment in New York. Thank God. You imagine. I never would sell it now. No way.
You probably wouldn't.
Nothing's gonna sell now.
Nothing. Right. I mean, because. And I also think a lot of companies are gonna start to realize, you know, this at home thing works. So why do we have all this office space?
Exactly.
So I think that's gonna be part of it too.
A big shift.
I think so.
I still have an apartment in New York. We'll see. You know, Gary does has an apartment, so we, you know, we'll see if we're gonna keep it.
You've got to come back to New York at some point.
Do I. I don't know.
You're loving.
I like Florida.
You do?
I play tennis every day. I live in Shangri La. I mean, it's the best.
And you have. Do your parents live down there full time?
3 minutes from my house, like full time.
Okay. I. I like, didn't know if they were down there just for this. Wow.
I go to tennis and then I drive and see my parents for breakfast and then I come home. Oh, yeah. I'm really happy here. I miss my friends in New York, but they love Florida. They come down. So we'll see.
You could come up here every now and then and I have to just ask. I know you've been asked a million times, but I really think now that you're so busy, I mean, you are busy. Would you ever go back to the housewives?
It's not even. It's not. It's not an option that I'm entertaining. I mean, it's, you know, I think the answer is no. That that ship sailed.
And you know what it is. Because the thing is, like, a lot of these housewives that are on that don't have a legitimate business. And this isn't like a knock. I'm not. There's no shade. It's just, when it's over, what do you do? Like, the real goal is to have a business, and you have one. So it's like, that could last a lot.
That's true. That is true. But the other thing is, like, I did the show to have fun, and I always said, I don't want to do the show if I'm not having fun anymore. And I didn't find it fun anymore. I don't think it's fun killing each other and fighting with girls. You don't even like being forced to take trips with girls you don't want to be with. I mean, you know, it's not me.
There's other things in life.
Oh, my God. Yeah. And I got the benefits of the show, you know what I mean?
You did, because you've been gone for how long? And it doesn't matter. I mean, everyone knows the name Jules Aaron because you were on the show.
And the show's re airing now. The best thing for me is if the show continues to go on and I continue to support and I love it, and, you know, and I get to reap the rewards of being an original housewife, that'll never go away.
That's 100% true. And do you think just in general, do you think Housewives, you know, because, like, with all these things going on in the world, like, do you think housewives can go on forever? Or do you think, like, it's kind of had its moment and now it's, like, on the decline, you know, and it's just like, with everything going on in the world.
I don't know. It depends on what happens with this Covid. You know, I think that they can film quarantine. I do. And I think it depends on the housewife. I think some are better than others to watch.
Yeah.
I think the show's gonna still go. Why wouldn't it?
I don't know. I mean, I just. I love it still.
I just cut salaries. That's what I think. I think they're gonna take this opportunity to cut because I don't think they can afford to keep paying the salaries they're paying when they're, you know, losing viewers to Netflix and losing viewers, you know, to different avenues. And they're not going to be able to do the trips and all that, because the COVID you know, it's just changed everything. So I don't know if they're going to be able to make the same money as they were.
So what do you think? Do you think Bravo is, like, actually going to go to them and say, you can stay. Here's your pay cut?
Yep, I do. I'm not the only one to think that. I think, yeah, I think that some of the housewives have actually Said that they're. Well, look what happened with Tamara and Vicki. Wasn't that over money or. No, I thought it was over money.
I don't know for sure. I mean. No, but that could be, you know, I mean, like, to your point. Yeah. And if you think about it, someone will probably stay, I would think. If they're like, you're making this much, and here's this much, it's still alive to stay. But you might. I didn't even think of that. But you're probably right, you know, but that's amazing. So, anything else you want to talk about? I mean, your masks are amazing. The tie dye is. They're gorgeous. Everyone needs to, like. Where can everyone find you?
Online, JillSaron.com. and if you want to do it yourself, you can buy the whites. We have a special sale on whites on the plain one. So if people want to tie dye themselves, they can just buy the whites.
That's awesome. I didn't think of that. I like that.
It's very messy. It's a mess.
You just go to sleep with, like, tie dye everywhere every night, right?
No, no. I shower and I get Clorox. I Clorox everything off on my feet. Because when I'm, you know, I squeeze the water out, I like to use my hands, and then it gets on the floor, and then I walk on it, so it's on my feet, too. So, yeah, I like, basically take a Clorox shower every night. That's okay.
Okay. I love it. And on Instagram, where can we find you?
Ah, Mrs. Jill Zarin. Bossy Zarin. Allison Shapiro. Jill Zarin home. Just type in Jill Zarin. You got me covered.
And the TikToks, you have to keep those up. You have to keep those up.
Follow me on TikTok.
That's.
That's out there. Who can help me or recommend any songs that they want to see me do or any scenes they want to reenact, please let me know. David, if you have any good scenes for me to reenact, let me know, because I know you like the show.
The one with Ramona. I'm going to think of some scenes. And obviously you haven't heard from Ramona since you did this TikTok.
I don't think I would, which. Why you think she'd be mad. She should be flattered.
She would be flattered, I think.
Right.
I have to.
By the way, I'm not the originator. I didn't originate that. Somebody else did. And there's, like. I don't know, 30 people who did the same thing, and then you just copy it and do it yourself. Do you know what I mean? Like, I didn't take that clip and put that music to it and do all that. And maybe people think I did because they don't watch TikTok, so they think I actually created it, but I didn't. I'm just a copycat. I just copied someone else's, which is pretty much how TikTok works. You see some food and then you do it. But it's a lot of fun. David, I want to see you TikTok.
I need to think of some fun scenes to send you. Please. You know what I think is good, it would be fun is if. Well, I can look for scenes. Is if you did scenes from other franchises. Like, are you really close to, like, anyone from another franchise?
Sure. Cynthia Bailey, I'm close with. Well, Vicki, you know, like, if you did.
I don't know. I have to think of a classic scene. But, like.
But if you do, or maybe you want to put out to your listeners a challenge. Let's challenge Jill to do this scene.
I like that.
Okay.
Like when Vicky's screaming from season one about the family van or something. I'm trying to think a classic Cynthia scene, but something from Atlanta. Yeah, I actually.
I'm such a big Atlanta fan of watching it. I mean, I'm a fan of hers. I just didn't watch. Oh, my God, I can't believe how late it is. I gotta get out of here. I'm gonna look for a car. I need to find a car. My car leases up.
You will find a car, everyone. I know, I know you're very busy, Jill, you're amazing. People need to buy the rugs and the masks.
The masks are great. The rugs are great. The masks are great. But more importantly, you're great. And I wish you the best, David.
Thank you.
Challenging year, but you, like everyone, you will survive and you will thrive. And with a friend like Patty Stanger, you can't go wrong.
Patty keeps me on my toes, and I know she's amazing, and I know that you are busy, so I really do appreciate this, Jill. Like, honestly. Thank you.
Okay. Good luck.
Thank you. Have a good day.
You, too.
