I'm excited to introduce collaborative writing and coding with OpenAI Canvas. Built in partnership with OpenAI and taught by Karim Nguyen. This is a very short course, about 35 minutes of video only to introduce a fun new tool that I think you enjoy trying. OPI Canvas is a very cool user interface that provides a side by side workspace where you can generate, edit and refine text or code in collaboration with ChatGPT, where you and the model can edit the same document together or edit the same Canvas together. This makes brainstorming, drafting and iterating on the text and code feel fun and effective. Our instructor is OpenAI's research lead on Canvas, who's Karina Nguyen. Welcome.
Thanks Andrew. In this course you will learn some tricks and tips for using Canvas. You'll do some collaborative workflows to see how easy it is to write and edit text and code with AI.
I've used Canvas to edit my code a few times and it's nice to see it literally go through the code and just edit it for me and I think tools like these will help many developers.
Yes, one of the key use cases is we designed Canvas to help users code. In this course you're going to use Canvas to create games in multiple languages, create charts in Python, and work with images along the way. You'll use Canvas to write essays, debug, comment and log your code. But we'll also go behind the scenes and see what it takes to build and train an interface for Canvas.
There are a lot of fun examples, including many video games that Karina will cover, so I hope you enjoy the course.
