Two runners sit in a caravan after finishing the Spine Race, an ultra-marathon, and describe missing it already. Speaker A finished two weeks after Speaker B and talks about the joy of running in beautiful scenery and escaping daily stress. Both feel the emotional crash that follows an intense endurance event.
sitting in the caravan that we were stopping in after the Spine Race and saying to Ali, I just want to be back out there. And I can say that now and I could get a bit emotional because I just loved being out there. All I'm doing is running, which I love doing, being out in beautiful scenery, which I love. No other stresses, no rubbish that life brings to your daily grind. Why would you not want to do it again?
Yeah, it's a good thing. There's a good feeling in it when you miss being out there. And that's, do you know what? I can relate to that really big. Because it's like, I finished on Sunday, didn't I? You finished 2 weeks before?
I finished 2 weeks yesterday, yeah.
So I finished on the Sunday and then Monday, but this week I made a joke to Dave last night. I said, I think I've got post-ultra blues.
