Hey, I'm Joe Fear and welcome to the Hustle and Flow Chart podcast. This is where we talk all about building businesses so they give you the freedom and fuel for your life. I'm not here to help you build a billion dollar business, but I am here to help you create a business with systems that work for you so you can make more money than you need just by working part time. You know, I was a chronic hustle mode kind of guy and I want to share my experiences and mentors I've met along the way to help you reframe things to be the most effective as an entrepreneur. I wish I had this guidance and insight when I was younger, so that's what I'm doing here for you. Please share and enjoy.
Is this thing on? Oh, it is on. Oh, it is just me. Okay. I got this tech to work. What is up? What is up? I am back. This is Joe Fear, the host of the Hustle and Flowchart podcast. Things have changed and there is no longer a co host on the show with me. And that fine gentleman's name is of course Matt Wolf. Don't worry, Matt is still going to be coming around here and there, but things are going to be different on this podcast. So that's what this episode's all about. I want to give you a scoop on what's been going down and what to expect and where's Matt? I want to give you the scoop there too. So if you've been a listener of the Hustle and Flowchart podcast for years, or even just months or whatever days, maybe it first episode. Thanks for listening and I'm sorry it's been so long. It's been two months. I missed you. I've been chatting with a lot of you offline, some in person actually, but like an email, I mean, off the podcast I guess. And it's been really cool to connect with a lot of folks and I'm sorry if I haven't responded to some. I've honestly been such on a tech diet over the last two months where I've just, I've spent a lot of time away from screens and email. So I'll get back to you, I promise. Even a lot of my buddies, I've not not responded to some. And I'm sorry, I'm just going to say that now. But point is this episode, I want to give everyone a kind of a big recap of what's been going down and what to expect here on this podcast and what Matt is up to and how to Go follow along with him and when you're going to hear from him as well on this podcast here and there. And then I have some really cool stuff planned for coming up with this show starting mainly in 2023, but also to close out the rest of the December 2022 this month. So, man, it's been wild. The last two months, I'll just say have been different. So about two months ago, I told Matt and our business partner at Hard Fork Gaming that I just, I couldn't go forward with working day to day in the company anymore. I had to step away completely. I mean, it was insanely tough. It was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make. And because it wasn't just saying no to Hard Fork Gaming and this thing we've been, we grew this year, this brand and put our lives into it is also. It was telling Matt, hey man, I got, I can't do business together that we've been doing like for the last 15 years in a lot of different ways. We've been partners that long. It's wild. That's why he's a brother from another mother. It's gnarly. I had to tell him I can't do it anymore, that I got to step away and do my own thing, slow down, kind of regather things and figure out where to go. And it's so like, you hear it like, oh, I got to pick up the pieces and figure out where I'm. That's how I felt like I had to have this kind of clean break in a way where like, hey, I can't take on the load anymore. And I don't know if you all have ever felt that before, but this year, 2022, but obviously this happened, this can happen any year. But for me, this last year it's been this kind of like this ramp up of energy, this feeling of that like there's always something I'm chasing. It was like I was always on the chase, the hustle and this is just me. It wasn't saying Matt was feeling that way or buff. I'm just saying like my feeling this year has been I have been taken on more, more, more, more, more. And there was this point, it was about two months ago for me that there were some things in the, in the business that I wasn't aligning with anymore or that I just couldn't keep up with or have the resources to, to give anymore because I was and am in a phase where I just couldn't do that. I couldn't Stay at that level. And that's my reason for stepping away from Hard Fork gaming. And they're still going ahead with things, so you should definitely go check them out. Matt and Buffalo, they're doing a lot of cool stuff in AI artificial intelligence. Ma. Matt is going down the wormhole there, the rabbit hole, and writing all about it over@mattwolf.com that is w l f e dot com. Go check out everything he's putting out there. I'll. I'll dig into that a little bit more in a sec. But point is, I had to step away from Hard Fork. Hard Fork's still going. They're doing some cool stuff. Go check them out. And what it was in that last two months, it was also me, you know, when I said, hey, I can't do this anymore, it was, hey, what's up with the hustle Flowchart podcast? Like, is this thing just going to go away now? And it was. It was really cool because this was an outlet. I've been wanting to get back to podcasting for a long time now, and I'm saying long time that last two months, but there's been resistance for me is like, it's kind of like Steven Pressfield writes about the resistance when you're. There's this art or this craft or this outlet that you know you need to get out. But something is like, the muse is calling you, is what he says, and that's what this episode's like. This has been so tough to record. This intro episode that you're listening to right now, I'm on, like, my 10th take. This is insane. I don't do solo shows, but I'm going to get better. And this is me in real time showing you my. The resistance. Like, I'm fighting it right now, and it's wild. So things are different. And this podcast, you know, now it's gonna be a solo show. My business side, I have some cool stuff happening right now, and I'm working closely with my wife Heather, on her business. It's great. And there's other pro. There's. I have projects, let's just say, and some cool things happening. So I'll talk about that in the future as. As things develop a little bit more. Things are really exciting over here. And these last two months, yeah, it's been quiet because, honestly, this podcast, we didn't know what was happening, but Matt and I chatted and agreed that, hey, take over the podcast, Joe. It's your. It's your show. And. And that's what I'M going to do. Matt's going to continue going heads down on on the hard fork gaming and also hard fork AI side of things. And also doing he's doing a lot of cool solo stuff. So if you just check out matt wolf.com go check that out and you'll see his blog post. He's doing some affiliate type stuff as well. Go read his stuff and follow along. Sign up to the email list. So he's diving into that artificial space and it's so interesting. Like for instance, the technology chat GPT. Go check that out. It's insane. It's tools like that that Matt is showing how to use these things. So go check out what he's doing and you can apply it to business marketing, you can apply it to building out tech, whatever. So that's what Matt's doing right now. And on my side of things with Hustle and Flowchart, this thing's getting developed too. Like there's I'm actually getting a website done right now from Studio One Design headed up by Greg Merrilies. He to be a guest on this podcast pretty soon too. So you're going to see hustleandflowchart.com get built out in early 2023. I would imagine when we start putting that out there and you're going to start seeing that's when the show here, this Hustle and Flowchart show is going to start developing more. So is going to a about a two times a week format is what I'm shooting for. And the show's going to be. It's going to be fun. Like this is going to, I would say the meaning of the show, it's never really the Hustle and Flowchart show itself. The title never had a for sure meaning. But like with Matt and I at the helm, it was kind of like I was the Hustle and Matt was the Flowchart. But it's like, you know, we're not all the same thing all the time, but definitely our personality kind of lined up that way. So it was pretty funny. But you know, with an evolution with everything, I feel like the meaning evolves as well. And the meaning for Hustle and Flowchart, it's still something I'm kind of coming up with, but I feel like it's something that we can all connect with and make into our own lives. It's like Hustle and Flowchart and the people and the topics, the things you'll see here from solo episodes and also guest episodes. Because I'm going To bring back a lot of the names we've had on this show, a lot of the mentors and friends, and really this wide scope of folks that embody this Hustle and flow chart life or meaning, and that's having kind of like the fast and the slow, the swift and the smooth, the deliberate and the calculated, a moving but also being present at the same time. It's like making the decisions quickly but knowing where you're headed, like you're having to step ahead in everything. So Hustle and Flowchart. It's this. I feel like for me, the last two months, I've been reflecting on what the heck is. What does it mean and how has it showed up and how is it showing up in my life? And it's slowing down. It's really assessing what's around me, what are my options, and then making the best next step, like, for the need in the moment. So that's what this show is all about, is to give you lessons about how to do that more effectively so you can be happier. That's the goal that I have, is I want to have more joy in my life. I know when that happens, I have more fun, I'm happier, and that radiates to people around me. Business grows as well, of course, and at the same time, that's just a tool. So business and all that is great. I don't obsess over it, but I definitely have my mind. And, yeah, I have my mind, but I have it tooled up in a way where, yeah, it's going, but it's not going to be the thing that it's not necessarily my passion. Like, my passion, even though I love it, my passion is going to come from having fun in life. And it just so happens to be that this show is going to be right at the core center of that. And knowing that business is a tool for things to happen and for me to have that freedom and that. That. That joy in life can come from that freedom. That's really what I felt like this last two months have been freedom, and it's mental freedom. It's the feeling that I'm not having. I don't have this load that I'm pulling around. So Hustle and Flowchart has a meaning for all of us. And I would say, overall, it's for the person who wants to use business as a tool to get joy out of life and happiness out of life, to create freedom in your life. That's what Hustle and Flowchart is. And it could be that Fast and slow kind of mix, quick decisions, swift and smooth. And you heard from my puppy down right at my feet, right? Meow.
She had her own version of Hustle and Flowchart. Point is connect with whatever that feeling is for you and use business as a tool. And not necessarily, I don't think it's as a passion. The core focus of the business is that it's a tool to get you to create something greater in your own life. And over the last two months, I've just felt like my life has become a lot fuller, a lot more full because of slowing down, but also being able to act on the things that I feel like are most important in life. I mean, I've seen it with reflecting back to my family, just being a lot more close with them. I see my daughter, 3 year old, is much closer with me than before. So it's me being present, being slower and deliberate, but choosing what I should be pursuing aggressively in life at the same time, finding that balance. So that's what you're gonna get here. And this, this podcast, it's the format, like I was saying, it's gonna be a little mix of a solo and guest podcast two times a week. And starting early January is really when you're gonna see most of these episodes starting to come out. I will round out the rest of December with some other solo episodes and the first one, I want to bring Matt on ASAP for an interview. So I don't know if he'll be the very first guest episode, but he'll be in there pretty, pretty close because he's gonna come back every now and then as a guest, a recurring guest, as will other friends like James Schramko, Chris Kremitos, Bob Serling, Greg Merrilies. We have a lot of folks who are coming up here. Amber Spears, Matt mcwilliams. These are folks who will be coming up in January and recurring as well, most likely, and I think I mentioned as well, is the website hustleandflowchart.com is being developed by Studio One Designs and that's headed up by Greg Merrilies who will be on the podcast. That website's gonna look so cool. So hustleandflowchart.com will be in action hopefully early in January 2023. I just gotta take some pictures and stuff like that, update my stuff. So that's what's going on. And so long story short, this podcast is changing. I think if you are a new or a long time listener, you're going to love it. It's going to be more of what you have been telling me you want of more of. And also maybe some different things. You know, obviously the solo aspect is going to be different. So that's what I got for this one. And think about this again, is the Hustle and Flowchart meaning I really want you to connect with what does Hustle and Flow mean in your life or flow charting? You know, this, this whole thing of like how does a balance show up in your life and maybe what have you been hustling too much around or or trying to chill too much on? How have you been going too fast or maybe too slow and how do you refine that into more of like this, this balance, this harmony that you can have with Hustle and Flowchart because that's what we're those are the types of topics you'll expect here. And thank you so much for listening and continuing to listen. Keep a lookout for some more solo episodes this December, this month and also in January 2023 is when we have more that two time per month format. And the last thing is tell me that you are listening. I would love to see you show up as a review in Apple or Spotify and let me know that you were listening, that you are listening and what you think about the show. Let me know in Apple and Spotify and I'll also help reboot this show a little bit more and get these folks hearing what's to come in 2023 and beyond. So thank you so much. This is Joe Fear again, Hustle and Flowchart host. Can't wait to have more with you here and talk to you very soon. All right. All right. That's what I got for you today. And remember, it's not all about living to work. It's all about working to live if you need to do the work. But you know, work can be fun and it should be fueling for your life. So if you enjoyed what you just heard, if you got some nuggets of wisdom that you want to share or you're just noodling on right now, please go tell others. The way that people find this show and how you can help others get their aha moments is through word of mouth. So if it is telling your friend, telling your family, send an email to your list writing a review or whatever it might be. Everything helps. So thank you so much for listening to the Hustle and Flowchart podcast and I will see you next time.
