Be Unapologetic in Your Success

John Humenik argues that biblical prosperity is a divine mandate, not a sin. He points to King David's massive temple contributions and Psalm 30:6 to show God blesses people with wealth so they can steward it for the kingdom. Christians should be unapologetic about their blessings and use them to help others.

Hi, my name is John Humenik. Welcome back to the channel. I'm so excited you're here. Today we've got a powerful verse that we're gonna be talking about prosperity. So this is gonna be a prophetic word for you. Please share this video with a couple friends that come to mind, whoever God lays on your heart, 'cause they're gonna be blessed by this. And if you're new to this channel, subscribe because this is gonna blow you away. And stick around for the rest of this video 'cause it's going, again, set the stage for a lot of prosperity in your life and allowing you to walk in victory from this point going forward. So let me go ahead and read from Psalm 30:6. The verse reads, as for me, I said in my prosperity, I shall never be moved. Now, what this verse is contextual is the context of David is about to dedicate the materials that God has laid upon David's life through his prosperity to be able to build the future temple. So if you're not familiar with the background, we're gonna go ahead and unpack this, but we have to understand is What did David mean when he said, I will not be moved by the prosperity that the Lord has given me? Because it's key to understand is, is that prosperity is a part of the walk of life. This is going to be a prophetic message for you because what happens with prophecy, as with all prophecy, what it is, it's edification, exhortation, and comfort. It's meant to draw things from the future and pull them into the present. And there are things that God has for you stored in storehouses in heaven that haven't been released on your life because you're believing either the lies or not walking out the things God wants you to do, or you have a negative perception on how God operates. And I'm gonna be here to break those mindsets because a lot of people think Christians are meant to be blessed through poverty, but poverty's a curse and you can't accomplish any works that God wants you to do because that's why David was unapologetic about being successful. Think about it from this perspective. So this is the background with Psalm 30, and this is why David is unmoved by the prosperity that God had given him. He wants to bless the Lord of hosts to be able to build a temple that will truly represent his love for God here on earth. So what you understand is, is that at the time they spent billions and billions of dollars building the temple between the gold that was used in it, the silver, the material, the stone, the cedar, and everything else. David donated approximately equivalent to $16 billion worth of materials to the building of the temple. David wanted to build the temple for the Lord, but the Lord said, you have too much blood on your hands. I need someone who has not spent his life as a man of war, but I need a man of peace because this temple is a man of peace. And had God allowed David to build it, it would've represented something to the people's eyes versus what it really should have been, which is a house of peace and tranquility. But David was blessed so greatly. that he was able to accumulate the stone, the gold, the cedar, all these things, to the extent that whenever Solomon went to build it, he had everything that he needed. So God didn't say, David, you can't save up to be able to build the temple. What he said is you weren't allowed to build the temple. And even David's mighty men, who were mentioned in the later books in that whole series between 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, and ultimately Chronicles, you see— and as well as Kings— you see that they donated approximately $24 billion dollars worth of goods to the temple. So they had around $40 billion worth of material to build this gorgeous sanctuary to the Lord. But David is unapologetic for the prosperity that God blessed him with. Now you might say, well, he was a king, but David was also a priest. He was also a prophet to the Lord. When you recognize that David was the kind of that triune person, that Jesus Christ, that kind of that archetype, that type and shadow of Christ before Christ came on earth, is that Jesus is both King, he's both High Priest, and he's the High Prophet. When you recognize that in the Old Testament that all those things were embodied in David, you start to recognize, well, what would that represent today? Well, that would be very easy because you would see that as a person who may be a minister, an evangelist, both a business person and also a prophetic voice, because the prophecy never ceased in, in this modern day and age. So today we look religious leaders, we look at people in positions of power and authority, and we treat them differently. Think about it from the perspective of your government leaders. If your government leaders become wealthy through their work, we think immediately that they're corrupt. If you see a minister become wealthy, we immediately think they're corrupt, that they're stealing money from the people in order to basically fund their lavish lifestyle. But yet, when a business person is established and generates wealth, and then funds his or her lavish lifestyle, We don't consider that as corruption. So this is the, literally the context in which God wants to debunk the prosperity lies that have really ravaged the church over the years, that David was a representative of those 3 things. He was the king, he was the high priest, which would represent the ministries, and he was also the prophets. That king could be a business person, that could be a governmental leader, at least in the context of Israel, was the government leader, as well as the fact that he was also the voice to the nation, 'cause he was the spokesperson of God. God throughout the time. Because when David ruled, there wasn't a Samuel that spoke to the people. David was the voice to the people, even though he had the prophets Nathan and he had seers and other people working with him. Those people, at least documented, never was documented talking to the people. They probably did, but David was the voice to the people. So now what you start to recognize is that our long-held beliefs of prosperity, you have to shift a little. Because if David is representative of ministers, David, David is representative of our government leaders, then how is it that David becomes so wealthy by God's blessings to be able to operate in, in this level, but then become unapologetic about this? Because he's like, no, I'm not going to apologize for being wealthy. I'm not going to apologize being crowned king of Israel, being anointed 3 times throughout his life— once as a youth, once he, once he took over Judah, and then another when he took over the nation of Israel. David never once throughout his entire life became apologetic to be able to receive God's wealth. He received it with a heart of gratitude, and he moved forward because he knew that as he was moving forward, the blessings that he was being bestowed were always to overflow. Think about it from this perspective: God blessed David To bless others. Here is a time where he is in, in a situation where he gets thrusted into the royal— basically this royal kingdom. Saul has fallen out of God's graces because God has taken away the Holy Spirit from Saul and put a tormenting spirit on Saul's life. David gets anointed by Samuel, and now David is now playing the harp in the king's palace to basically soothe Saul as during this process. So Think about it from Saul's perspective. This is literally treason in his mind, but yet God's the overseer. He's the one that decides who gets to rule his kingdom. So he fired Saul, but yet kept him in his position, but then anointed another and brought David into his presence. Saul, as far as I can tell, truly never really knew that ultimately David was the one that was anointed to be king. I think there may be some allusions in scriptures, and I have to go back and look at it a little deeper, but I've— if I remember correctly, When I look at how that entire dynamic goes down, Saul saw David as a threat because of his military prowess, not because Samuel ever anointed him. And so Saul may have never known that David was actually his replacement. He talks about it multiple times, but I don't think he recognized that Samuel anointed him. So what you see here is that the very person who's bringing relief to Saul is his replacement. And he's the one— David is seeing all the things firsthand on how not to be a king. But you see that the prosperity aspect of being a king came with it because he's the leader. And so he's able to tax the people, he's able to move money from other countries, he's able— he— in that time they did bond service and they did slaves, and they basically oppressed people and then took advantage of those people to be able to build a bigger and stronger kingdom. Whether or not that was in God's graces and all the things he wanted, that's not necessarily for this video to discuss. But what we want to start to dive into is understand is that David ruled both as through compassion and with an iron fist. And you read that throughout scriptures, and you see that even as he got older, he had more compassion than he had an iron fist. And so you see victory everywhere David went because David took the spoils from the enemy, that whenever there was something that needed to be donated to the kingdom of God, he donated it. But God knew that David's heart was right with God, and Before he could bless David with finances, because he knew that David wasn't going to keep the blessings. He needed David to be generous. In order for David to be generous, he had to be lavishly blessed, because in order for him to build the temple, he had to be blessed heavily. That's the thing we have to recognize. When God wants to move in your life throughout the kingdom, he needs to bless you first. He blesses a person. That then overflows into place that allows you to bless others. So are you thinking about these things as you move forward? Are you blessing people when you go to restaurants? Are you over tipping someone? Are you paying for other people's checks? Have you thought about paying for a neighbor's rent or someone else's rent? Maybe wiping out debt. You can't be in a position of poverty and then help others because you can't even help yourself. That is a curse because now you can't even help your kids get the best education. Why? Why wouldn't you want the best education for your kids? Why wouldn't you want your kids to eat the best food, to live the most healthiest life, so that when they're older, they're free from all the other things that other people are suffering from because they have to eat either manufactured food or food that's not good for them, or dealing with the medical problems that come with it? And if you don't believe that, you just have to look at the studies. Even the government talks about this, is that, that health is based upon so much of what you put in your body and how you steward your exercise, that those are the critical pillars and allow you to operate in victory. So if you're operating from a place of defeat in parts of your life financially, what you're not doing is operating what God said, which is Psalm 23:1, is the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. When you study that in the Amplified, it means God is your provider across all the spectrums of your life, meaning that if you're in poverty, you're not allowing God to bless you. David was unapologetic in that situation. He did not allow the naysayers of the kingdom, even within Israel and his surrounding kingdoms, whether they were adversaries or friends, he never allowed those things to dictate to him how he felt towards God, because he knew that he had to be overwhelmingly blessed, overwhelmingly prosperous, in order to be able to accomplish the work God wanted him to do. Because it costs money to do things on this planet. That's the way it works. There's an economy, and it has to work that way. That's why when people complain about ministers about living a lavish lifestyle, when you complain about your government officials living a lavish lifestyle, you forget that they carry the anointing and the blessings to operate at those higher levels. So when they're operating at those higher levels, you should understand is, is that they themselves should be blessed in order to bless others. And when those people are walking out their life correctly, it just overflows into their churches, into their communities, into their mission support, all the things that they're doing, because that's the way God wants it to do. He wants to bless you so heavily that there's so much that you have that you have to give it away. It's no different— think about it from this perspective. If you go out there and plant a garden and you get one amazing vine for tomatoes, and God puts on that vine 300 tomatoes, now unless you really love tomatoes or you're going to make a lot of spaghetti sauce, you're going to have to give away those tomatoes before they rot. That's the concept of what David had here. God blessed David so excessively Because his heart was for God and not for the money, not for the possessions, but that by through that, he was able to accomplish all those things. And he didn't have to necessarily toil for it, 'cause once David conquered his enemies, God just continued to lift him up. And what you see is, what you recognize is that David took over the nation of Israel, I think if I remember correctly, around the age of 40. And when you see him, next time you see him in scriptures is whenever he falls with Bathsheba, and I think he's closer to 60 years old. So God accelerates him for 20 years. Wow. in a way that's unbelievable. And even in the last 10 years, 'cause remember David dies when he's 70, so that last 10 years, he then continues to accelerate in an amazing way so that at the latter half of his life dramatically overwhelms the first half of his life. That's why he's unapologetic. So when God wants to bless you, recognize that that blessing is supposed to come through you into others. No different than your spiritual gifts. It's no different than all the things God gives you. God gives it to you so that you can give more. That's the whole point. When he recognizes that you are willing to give away your cars, to give away houses, to give away vacations, to give away things that you would otherwise cling to, he'll continue to give you more, and he'll overflow you in every area of your life to the point where you can't even keep up. And then you'll actually have to hire people to start stewarding your finances. So continue to honor God with your steps. Recognize that David was unapologetic because God knew knew that he could bless the people through David. If God's going to bless anyone in the kingdom of God, why not you? Why not you? That's the key answer. Tell yourself, why not me? Why can't God bless me to bless others? Why can't I be the one to steward all these wonderful things and allow those things to move forward? That's the essence of what a lot of people get upset with, because whenever you try to hoard money and you toil for it, where you're trying to generate income and this wealth to keep it for yourself, you're ultimately going to lose it. That's what the Bible says. The Bible says those who up wealth for themselves will ultimately give it to the one who God loves and who are righteous. And so you can be sure that God's going to continue to allow you steward your life in a way of victory. There is work, but God will bless the work of your hands to allow you to be a blessing to others. So I just want to encourage you today, don't be, uh, don't be apologetic about the blessings of God on your life. Be unapologetic. When people say that you're a Christian, you should live in poverty, that's not what God ever said. In fact, Jesus never Once said, thank you, Father, for me being hungry. You know, I'm hungry, I don't have food, it's okay. Jesus never said those words. Jesus always had food, he always overflowed, and he always blessed wherever he went. And he blessed people even beyond that because he was a blessing to others. So understand how the scriptures work in your life. Take this truth, shatter the lies that are out there, and allow you to continue to steward the things God wants you to steward. So that you can be a blessing to others and you can be unapologetic like David was. If you love content like this, I want to encourage you today.
