Speaker B pushes back on Christians calling Los Angeles modern Sodom and Gomorrah. He argues escapist end-times theology that waits for the world to burn misses God's actual mission: redeeming all people, including LA. Christians should pray for the city's salvation, not celebrate its destruction.
Too many Christians are in error here. Listen to this.
I need to say to you Christians who are online typing away saying, no, LA is the new Sodom and Gomorrah. It is. This is God's judgment. Do you not know that when Abraham was talking to God about Sodom and Gomorrah, he said, God, if there's 30 righteous people, would you save the city? And God said yes. And I know that there's more than 30 people that love Jesus in the city of Los Angeles. So I don't think that this place is Sodom and Gomorrah. I think this is Rome. The problem that I'm seeing, you doomsday end times theologians, your escapist theology saying the world's going to burn and one day God's going to suck me out. That's not Christian. God didn't give Christians jobs just to, to watch the world burn and, and have it confirmed that they're the best and the other people are the worst. God came to save the souls of every lost person. God came to save LA, not to strike it with fire. We are meant to redeem the world, not forsake it. So when you pray for LA, don't let your mind get carried away with thoughts that this is good, because it's not. One of my friends, their family house burnt down, and they love the Lord.
