Merry Christmas, everyone. I'm hoping you're having an amazing day so far. So today's verse comes from Daniel 9, verses 25 and beyond. And this is probably the only set of verses that actually predict Jesus's death specifically with a timeframe. A lot of verses talk about Jesus's death and resurrection, but in this instance, actually points to a timeframe when it'll happen. So by tradition, it's 483 years after the call to restore Jerusalem comes from King Artaxerxes. And so why am I putting this on a Christmas verse? Well, because what it does is it shows that, that Jesus was born 33 and a half years earlier. It gives us deep insight to his birthday, and it reconciles his purpose for coming on Christmas. Christmas was meant for Jesus to come and die for our sins so we can be reconciled to God. And so take heart.
