In this short devotional, the speaker reflects on Esther 2:17, highlighting how God placed a royal crown on Esther’s head, making her queen after Vashti. The speaker emphasizes Esther’s humility, inner beauty, strength, and courage as the qualities that set her apart, rather than merely her external appearance. These traits enabled her to risk her life before the king, rescue the Jewish people from annihilation, and become a lasting example for women and believers. The devotional connects Esther’s story to the Jewish holiday Purim, celebrating her deliverance, and concludes with a blessing that God elevates those who serve His purposes.

Chapters

Esther chapter two, the second half of verse seventeen. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. Queen Esther was born for a time such as this. She rose up before the king, faced death, and rescued her entire people from extinction. She is heralded even today with the Jewish holiday Purim, celebrated every year. Queen Esther was an amazing example for the people and women at large. One of the key things to understand with her is, is that her humility is what set her apart. Sure, the King Xerxes looked at her and saw her outer beauty, but the reality is, is that her internal beauty, her humility, her strength, and her courage is what really set her apart. And that's why God elevated her to the throne that she held, because He knew that she would be a servant towards his works and not do something that was towards her own. God bless.
