In this short monologue, the speaker argues that Christianity fundamentally differs from other religious systems such as Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, which he characterizes as works‑based. Citing the Gospel of John, he asserts that salvation is achieved solely through Christ’s finished work on the cross, and that believers are called simply to obey Jesus and follow His commandments. What's the difference between Christianity and religion? The religious systems like Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, and all forms of Hinduism—it's a focus on works. In fact, Christianity is the exact opposite because in the Gospel of John, it talks about that you can't do anything apart from Christ. Jesus already paved the way to heaven by His finished work on the cross when He died and rose again. All we have to do is sit in obedience to Him and His commandments and follow the things that He had already called us to do in our faith walk with Him.
