Getting an Abundant Mindset - Part 1 of 3

John Humenik introduces his book An Abundant Mindset, arguing that biblical prosperity is about holistic flourishing, not just money, and that it starts in the mind. He grounds the teaching in Scripture and outlines twelve core traits, beginning with three, emphasizing authentic self-expression and partnership with the Holy Spirit.

Hi, my name is John Humenik. Welcome to the channel. I'm so excited you're here today. I've got a powerful video to talk about 3 concepts. We're going to break it over 3 days. The first point we're going to be touching base on is how to break free of the mindset you have today by operating in abundance. So I'm excited that you're here. This is part 1, and it'll be able to carry you forward. I'm going to be talking about An Abundant Mindset, which is the title of my book that I recently launched, to be able to use these techniques that the Holy Spirit downloaded into my spirit so that you can leverage them to— for victory, from going from faith to faith and glory to glory, to be able to establish a pattern of success and be able to move out of the current situation that you're in into victory. Because we know that as children of God, we are operating from a place of victory. We don't operate from a place of defeat. But what we do is, is we often— with even as myself included— we start to think about how we're not doing well, how we're comparing ourselves. It starts to put and wear upon you from an individual perspective. So I wrote a book about this. You can find that available on my website. But what you can do here is, is that's found on humenik.com. But the key thing to recognize as a part of this is, is that there are really 12 core traits. We're going to cover the top 3 in this conversation. So you're going to want to stick around for this entire video and share this with your friends and who might have not seen this, because it's going to change the way you think, which then manifests the things that are happening in your life. Because we are all spirit beings, it's really important to understand that everything that happens in the natural first starts in the spiritual. And so what we know is, is that the soul— both the mind, the will, and the emotions— is the battleground between the flesh and the spirit. And it's so important that you capture your mind with an abundant mindset of one of victory, one that allows you to carry yourself forward so that you can go faith to faith, to glory to glory. So let's talk about the first concept. In order to have an abundant mindset, one that's operating from victory, you actually have to have an abundant mindset. Now I know that's going to sound counterintuitive, but stick with me as I talk about this because you're going to understand more and more as I unpack this, and it's going to blow you away. So it starts with scripture, John 10:10. This comes from the ESV. It says, the thief Comes only to steal and to kill and destroy. Jesus came that everyone may have life and have life abundantly. Now, when he says this is he didn't say that the Christian will be successful or be a millionaire. No, what Jesus is saying is is that he wants the very best for you in your life today, and you probably have grown up like myself under some form of religion or some form of legalism, or if you're a new Christian, you may not. Know either of those things, which is great because you have less things to basically unlearn and you can move forward in victory. The thing about it is, is that when Jesus talks about prosperity— and a lot of people, prosperity has such a negative connotation in Christianity because people think about the prosperity gospel. Well, the prosperity gospel doesn't apply to those who are already saved because they've already received the gospel. So prosperity is talked about so much In the Bible, it's referenced more than heaven or hell. Think about that for a moment. I want to pause for there for a second. Think about this: the God of the universe who created all the stuff that we have on this earth—the gold, the cattle on a thousand hills belong to Him; the silver and gold is His; every single thing that's here—we're functionally all stewards—and yet He's saying that prosperity is mentioned more than heaven or hell. That's how important it is to have a mindset of abundance, because prosperity is core to your success. And we know that it's key, but it isn't just about money. It's about how you approach things. And what it means is, is that it has to start in your mind, because every single thing you put your hand to should be successful. Everything you should say should speak life. Everything you should do should be something that moves the kingdom of God forward, even if it's just reflecting the Bible through love. That's the key part. So when Jesus said he came to be able to crush the kingdom of darkness, that he has overcome the world, that his name is higher than all things, it means that you're supposed to live life out in abundance. And it starts with your mindset. So you have to start to shift your thinking from the posture of, I don't have enough money, I don't have enough time, I don't have enough talent, I don't look as good as this person, or I'm not as charismatic as them. God's got you exactly where he wants you. He gave you the talents, the skill set, and everything for you to be you. The more authentic you are as you're presenting yourself to people, both on video, through social media, and in life, people will resonate with you. There are tons of people— look at some of the greatest speakers in the history of the world. You could look at past presidents, you can look at other people, but then look at the greatest ministers, the people, the evangelists. You have the folks like Billy Graham, and for every Billy Graham, there's a Joyce Meyer. Joyce Meyer is a highly anointed one of God, but if you listen to her speak, her speech doesn't match Billy Graham. She's got a different style. She's got more of this casual, just down-to-earth speaking style that allows her to resonate with a different group of people, whereas Billy Graham is more of that fire and brimstone, bringing people out of the pit into salvation. So you have to understand is who you are is who you are. And that you can operate from a posture of no limitations, because that's the key. Because you're operating on the kingdom economy, and the kingdom economy has no lack. You whatever you put into it just multiplies more and more, and it basically becomes a pitcher that never runs out of water. That's the key part. That's what Jesus is talking about. Abundance flows from the posture of your heart. Because remember, Psalms 23:7 says, "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." Now, you have to understand is that changing your mindset will take time. It will, because it's not something that happens overnight. You may not be able to change the words, you may not want to change your habits, but it is a journey. And we know with the— after salvation, the sanctification journey takes time and ultimately ends in our death when we see Jesus Christ face to face, unless we live to see the rapture. So We have to understand this as we move forward. We have to be able to be able to manage ourselves in a way that's according to God's plan, and it's very key to recognize how important it is to walk things out. You have to recognize that abundance flows, mindset flows, a successful mindset flows, knows because you don't have a limit, knows that you'll be able to be able to plan for things, have a clear vision. and move forward in victory. And I want to encourage you today that if you're struggling with some form of doubt— so let me share a scripture with you, Luke 14:28. This is a key scripture because it says, but don't, but don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the entire cost to see if they have enough money to finish it? This is really important. When you're operating from a mindset of success, Which is so key. One of abundance, because that's what Jesus talks about. 10:10 is of abundance. You have to recognize is is that you have to understand that it's just as important for you to manage your schedule. It's just important for you to steward your life, steward your family life, and steward all the things that God has in front of you in order to be successful in the arena that you're supposed to be in. It's so key. So think about it from this perspective: is that we're all supposed to be reflections of Jesus Christ. So it starts in the mind. Jesus was the living word of God, so he stood on the word, which was ironically himself. But you know, it's just how it works, and he was able to speak life everywhere he went. He was something that embodied perfection across all kinds of things and all kinds of scenarios. He never once lacked. So why didn't Jesus Christ lack? Why didn't he struggle? He was a carpenter; wasn't necessarily a profitable trade. If he was working in a town and they didn't need anything, he'd have to move to another town. He didn't. He had to do the work by his hands. So if he was not feeling well that day, or you know the weather was bad, or anything, that trade limits a person's ability to function very, very successfully. Obviously, we know Jesus would never have been sick and all those other limitations upon people. And sure, he may have just looked to the skies and said, "Sun, come out." But the reality is, is as Jesus is walking out this life, he never once lacked because he understood the concepts of Matthew 6:33, that the moment he's pursued his Father's kingdom, that he would have no lack. That Psalm 23:1 kicks in where he says, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. When you recognize those 2 concepts, you start to operate from a position that your finances and everything else are already in order. This is key to recognize because a lot of us in the Kingdom adversity, as well as walk out these concepts of successful mindsets and operating from those positions, is that we look at our situation and we say it's not perfect. We look at the situation and say, I'm not perfect. My family's not perfect. I may not have enough money. I don't have a $20,000 studio. I don't have a million-dollar home. I don't have— I'm not out of debt. I don't have a big following. Maybe I just retired and I maybe my voice is different than the way it was. I don't talk the way I used to. I don't look the way I used to. The understanding is, is God's got exact— God's got you exactly where he wants you because he wants you to be successful through your shortcomings. This is the most important thing to understand of abundant mindset. It's not you that overcomes. It's you partner with the Holy Spirit that overcomes together the situations in front of you. That's the essence of what makes God's story. So amazing is that he confounds the wise with the foolish, that he will make those who are broke into rich, that he can take someone from a dungeon to the second most powerful person in in the entire world overnight. That's who God is because otherwise you would just take the credit for yourself. That's the essence of an abundant mindset. This is the step one of step. We'll give you three steps. This is so important for you to grasp because when you recognize. That it's all it is, is just a shift of a mindset. It's stop focusing on the problem and start focusing on Jesus. It's start to look at the Word of God and instead applying the Word of God. It's standing on it and going through and walking things out in victory. That's the key essence. And it's done through the steps that you need to do in order to operate in success and in victory. So go ahead, let's go ahead. We're gonna, we're gonna go ahead and close out this video and we're gonna start with the second video, step number 2, and how to move forward and And that's operating from abundant wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and intelligence.
