The Bible is a book filled with eternal promises. One of the most amazing things ever said in the Bible comes from the dawn of creation. Genesis chapter 1, verse 31: God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. God the Father created everything that we see and the things that we don't see. In the beginning, all things were good. Very good, in fact. He spoke time, space, and matter into existence. In the first 3 days of creation, We see that he made room for everything that he created in days 4, 5, and then 6. It's a pattern we see repeatedly in the Bible. God makes room for us, then he invites us into his presence. Let's start off with this simple understanding: we all have sinned. No one is perfect. Romans teaches us that in chapter 3, verse 23. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This levels the playing field. Rich or poor, successful or struggling, even things such as race, social standing, and your family history can't change your destiny. God has a standard. In the end, we are all deserving of God's righteous judgment. There's no amount of good works, charity, or money that can grant us salvation. You'll notice the one common thread in all other religions outside of Christianity. They require works. Some money, some luck, or something else. Christianity is not a works-based religion. Christianity itself is not even a religion. It's a relationship with God and His Son, Jesus. It's received by faith. It's a gift received. You've probably asked yourself this question: Do I even deserve to go to heaven? The apostle Paul answered that question using his past filled with sin. 1 Timothy 1:15. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, Of whom I am the worst. Paul was a murderer. He hunted down Christians, put them in jail, and eventually killed them. He went from city to city on a witch hunt after them. Then an encounter with Jesus changed his life forever. Even in Paul's darkest hour, Jesus loved Paul and made room for him by calling Paul into something greater. The consequences of sin are big. Romans 6:23 tells us, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Sin brings spiritual death. Sin drives a wedge in our relationship with God. Sin causes all of us to be eternally separated from God in hell. There's no way to buy your salvation back through money, volunteering, or even being a good person. There's nothing that we can do to overcome the sin in our life. You and I are in the same boat together. But God, He makes room for all of us. Paul continues in Romans 5:8, But God demonstrates His own love for us While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus Christ came into this world, born of a woman, and lived the life we couldn't. The Father poured out His wrath on Jesus, that punishment that was reserved for all of us. Jesus paid the price for all sinners on the cross. The punishment that God placed on Jesus was meant for us. Jesus paid the price for us. He did it for us to have an eternal relationship with God. He paid for everyone's sins— past, present, and future. He took away our shame, guilt, pain, suffering, even our diseases by pouring out his blood for us. A perfect sacrifice. Jesus's death wasn't the end of the story. 3 days later, God resurrected him. He crushed death by walking out of the tomb. Death never did have the power to keep Jesus in the tomb. Highly exalted, Jesus ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father in absolute position of power, authority, and dominion. The Gospel writer John tells us more in chapter 14, verse 6. Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus is the way. He redeemed us. His perfect sacrifice took our punishment and cast our sins as far as the east is from the west. God made room. Jesus invites us into relationship with him. It's a free gift received through faith. You're probably wondering, how do I receive this free gift? What do I have to do? Paul tells us in Romans 10:9-10, if you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and is justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. It's a simple declaration of faith, a statement that comes From your heart. You must fully believe that Jesus saved you. It's a free gift from the Lord. Eternal salvation comes from faith alone. Paul continues in verse 13, For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. You must surrender your life to Jesus. He must become your Lord and Savior. You must believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the grave, conquering All sin and death in this world. I want you to take a moment to pray this prayer with me. Make a sincere declaration to invite Jesus into your life. When you do, your eternity is set. You'll spend it with Jesus in heaven. Pray with me. Father God, I repent of all my sins. I turn away from them. I declare that Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Savior, who took my punishment while He hung on the cross. He died, giving up His life in exchange for mine. 3 days later, He rose, resurrected by your mighty power, triumphant over the grave. He lives today, seated next to you in heaven. I choose this day to serve you. I am born again in the mighty name of Jesus. I'm sure you felt a heavy weight lifted off your chest. If you didn't, don't worry. God is faithful to all those who come to Him with a humble and remorseful heart. If you said that prayer with me, I want you to comment, I am saved. By commenting, you are making a beautiful public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. Now you have the Holy Spirit living inside you. 1 John 4:17 makes one of the boldest declarations in the entire Bible, saying, as he is, so are we in this world. As Jesus is today, so are we on this earth. That's a powerful statement, meaning that you are now literally Exactly like Jesus. He's crowned with glory. You're crowned with glory. He came in power. Now you go forth in power. Everything that Jesus did on this earth, you now have the grace to do the same. I want to encourage you today for making such a bold step of faith and pray a blessing over you. Take a moment to close your eyes and receive it.
