A husband only helps his wife if she frames requests as divorce threats. The speaker says many believers treat God the same way, responding only to salvation crises while ignoring everything else. God has feelings and deserves more than bare minimum faith.
This is so good. I've never heard it put it this way.
I'm tired and I say, honey, is this a divorce issue? She says, have you lost your mind? What kind of question is that? Of course it's not. I said, if it's not a divorce issue, I don't want to do it. She says, honey, can you do the laundry? Really tired. Been a long day. I say, honey, is this a divorce issue? She says, of course not. Well then, I don't want to do it. Every single thing that my wife asks, oh, divorce? No, I don't want to do it. How long is that marriage going to last? We treat God worse than that. Lord, is this a salvational issue? Come on now. What's the least I can do? If it's not a salvational issue, I don't want to do it. God has feelings too. How many of you would want to be in a relationship with someone like that? The bare minimum.
