In this short video, the speaker argues that Christianity differs fundamentally from other religious systems such as Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, which he characterizes as works‑based. He claims Christianity is the opposite: it centers on faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross, as taught in the Gospel of John, which states that nothing can be done apart from Christ. Accordingly, believers are called simply to sit in obedience to Jesus, follow his commandments, and walk with him in faith, rather than earn salvation through works. What's the difference between Christianity and religion? Well, you're probably asking yourself, well, there is no difference. Well, I'll beg to differ. The religious systems like Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, and all forms of Hinduism, it's a focus on works. But Christianity has nothing to do with that. In fact, Christianity is the exact opposite, where it talks about sitting at the feet of Jesus and receiving from him. Because in the Gospel of John, it talks about that you can't do anything apart from Christ. Jesus already paved the way to heaven by his finished work on the cross when he died and rose again. All we have to do is sit in obedience to him and his commandments and follow the things that he had already called us to do in our faith walk with him.
