Hello, my name is John Humenik, and I'm sure you're tuning in to see if the solar eclipse is the end of the world. Let's hop right into it. Isaiah chapter 13, verse 10 says, the stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light. One of the big worries about a solar eclipse is that will it hearken in the end of days? And then if you look in Joel chapter 2, verse 31, it actually says that the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord. It even says that again in Amos chapter 8, verse 9. And on that day, declares the Lord God, I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight. Sure does sound like the solar eclipse that's coming up. I want to assure you today that when you start to understand biblical scriptures, that the solar eclipse does usher in Jesus Christ's end times prediction. But one of the things that a lot of people worry about when they talk about solar eclipses and they talk about the end days is they don't put it into the correct context. The correct context actually comes from Matthew 24, when Jesus talks about how the end days will actually unfold. And if you read the chapter, what you start to see is that there is a series of events that have to occur before the great and dreadful day of the Lord occurs. You have to see that the gospel is preached throughout all the nations so that everyone hears the gospel. You have to see the Antichrist rise up into power. The beast empire comes into play. The false prophet starts to go out there and preach this false doctrine and unifies the world, which many believe under a one-world currency and a one-world religion. You also see the 2 witnesses come into play where they're miraculously consuming and destroying God's enemies and just preaching God's word boldly. Throughout the Revelation and in Matthew, what you see is, is these different seals occurring, the bowls and trumpets. And then what you see happens in Matthew 24:29, 'cause you get towards the end and it says, immediately after the distress of those days, The sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. The stars will fall from the sky and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. We can even see this mirroring in Revelation 6:12. When he opened the 6th seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, and the full moon became like blood. So where do we see that in the context of the solar eclipse? What we see is, is we've got that as the 6th seal. So we know that the 4 horsemen that come before them— war, plagues, death, and famine— come first. The 5th seal, which is the final martyr gets slain, and then you see the 6th seal, which is this great and dreadful day of the Lord. And then seal 7 is this silence that occurs. And so when you start to look at how does the solar eclipse apply to Jesus's coming, What it means is, is that in that time, what you're going to see is this transformation, that this transformation occurs from darkness to light. And I want to kind of give you this beautiful vision of edification, that if you're not currently saved, if you're struggling to say, where am I going to be at on this other side of this great and dreadful day of the Lord? I want to ensure you today that your salvation is right here. All you have to do is give your life to Jesus. It's as simple as that. Jesus isn't coming to bring judgment to the Christians of this world. In fact, he's coming back to lead a victorious procession into his kingdom. When you understand all of the biblical promises in Thessalonians that Paul talks about, and as his audience understood, what happens is, is Jesus Christ is going to return as a Victorious king. He's not coming in to conquer the Christians. What he's coming here is to conquer evil for all once and good. And so what you as a person, if you're concerned about your salvation, I want to reassure you today that Jesus loves you. Jesus cares for you. Jesus is coming back for you because the world today is just a temporary place where we're living. This is a This is a place where we're going out there and preaching the gospel and helping others. It really is meant to be a place of love, joy, and peace in amidst the storm. And I want to reassure you today that as you go forward in your walk, that yes, the solar eclipse— one day a solar eclipse will usher in the second coming of Jesus Christ. Is that solar eclipse that's coming up going to be the one that does it? Honestly, we kind of have to have a lot of things Precede it as the Bible describes about it. In fact, the rapture has to occur also. And the interesting thing about that is the rapture happens on the 7th trumpet, which is actually at the end of times. And so the church, as it's described in Daniel, will go to war with the Antichrist. And ultimately what you see is, is the Antichrist starting to defeat the Christians, but it's Jesus's ushering in of his new kingdom. that brings the dawn of a new day. After you see the darkest moment, you can see the power of God manifest in a way that's exciting and fruitful and will eternally usher in all forms of greatness, holiness, purity. You'll get your new heavenly bodies. Everything will be amazing. And so I just want to reassure you today that while the eclipse may be scary, please make sure you wear your glasses appropriately. Don't wear any old glasses because I think they expire after 3 years, so make sure you have a new set. And just praise God because your salvation, when you believe in Jesus, it's safe, and you will be truly, truly excited for the day of the Lord.
