Jesus' Healing Miracles

In this 13,000‑token livestream, John Humenik presents a comprehensive, devotional‑theological overview of the healing miracles recorded in the Gospels. He argues that Jesus’ healings were not random miracles but purposeful acts that demonstrate a distinct ministry pattern: speaking the word, laying hands, or simply being present, all rooted in faith, authority, and the forgiveness of sin. Humenik walks through nine specific miracles—leprosy (Mark 1:40‑44), the paralytic (Mark 2:1‑12), the woman with a 12‑year bleeding issue (Mark 5:25‑34), the deaf‑mute (Mark 7:31‑35), the royal official’s son (John 4:43‑54), Peter’s mother‑in‑law (Luke 4:38‑39), the centurion’s servant (Luke 7:1‑10), the withered hand on the Sabbath (Luke 6:6‑11), and briefly references the faith of the centurion and other related passages. For each, he highlights the cultural context (e.g., leprosy as social exclusion), the role of faith (both of the sufferer and of surrounding believers), the mechanism of healing (touch, spoken word, authority, or distance), and the theological implication that sin can block healing and that forgiveness often precedes physical restoration. He repeatedly ties these ancient accounts to contemporary application, urging listeners to emulate Jesus’ approach—confessing sin, speaking faith‑filled declarations, and allowing the Holy Spirit’s power to flow through them. The talk concludes with a call to support his ministry financially, citing growth metrics and biblical promises of sowing and reaping. Key take‑aways: 1. Jesus’ healings follow a pattern: faith, forgiveness, spoken word, and/or physical contact. 2. Healing is holistic—body, mind, spirit, and relational restoration. 3. Faith of others (friends, family, community) can unlock or amplify healing. 4. Authority and humility are essential; believers can exercise Christ‑like authority when aligned with the Spirit. 5. Generational curses and sin can impede healing; repentance and forgiveness break those bonds. 6. Modern believers are called to speak, act, and trust in the same way Jesus did, whether in private or public settings. 7. The ministry seeks financial partners to expand its outreach.

Hi, I'm John Humenik, and welcome to the livestream talking about the healing miracles of Jesus Christ. I'm so excited that you're here, and I'm looking forward to covering an interesting topic that a lot of people have been searching for on Google and YouTube. And let's cover all the amazing things that Jesus Christ has done and how it'll apply to you in your life. One of the things that I want to talk about first and foremost is to understand that Jesus Christ's miracles were done not by what we traditionally consider miracles. So one of the biggest things that when it comes to healing is there's a lot of people that will go to the Lord in prayer. But if you emulate Jesus in his ministry, what you start to see is, is that he did it with a different style than the way we do it today. And the effectiveness of healing does actually transform when you do it the way that Jesus did it. So let's cover how he did it and how it can apply to you. And we'll go into all those specifics as we go through all the various miracles. So the first thing I wanna talk about is Jesus heals a man with leprosy. This comes from Mark chapter 1, verses 40 through 44. A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, if you're willing, you can make me clean. Jesus was indignant, or filled with compassion in some translations, He reached out his hand and touched the man and said, I am willing. He said, be clean. Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed. Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning, saying, see that you don't tell this to anyone, but go show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing as a testimony to them. Now let's start to do some things first. So the first thing we really want to talk about today is understanding that Jesus spoke healing. There wasn't a single healing that occurred in all of the miracles that he performed in the New Testament than in which he actually prayed to his Father. This is going to be the first thing that most Christians miss, is they constantly go to the Lord in prayer. Now that's a very important thing because What you need to understand is each healing in each situation is different and therefore requires different things. Now what you see here is, is that the man came to him with faith, and with faith he says, look, I know you're willing, but if you're willing, can you make me clean? And so Jesus at this point— and we see that the translation could mean either indignant or filled with compassion— and believe it or not, I can understand both positions because Jesus is like, look, I can do whatever your faith allows me to do, but you have to come in agreement with me. But he would also be filled with compassion for this person. And so Jesus reaches out and touches this person. And notice what he does here is this is a person that has leprosy. So one of the things that you have to understand is, is that this is a disease that's basically passed on by touch. And by Jesus reaching out and touching him, this is what he's saying is, is that he's greater than this skin disease that is ravaging this person's body. And you have to understand is that when you have leprosy at that time, they were considered unclean. So therefore they could not go to the temple and worship. They could not go and offer sacrifices. They were literally outcasts from society. And really a lot of people would have avoided them and they would have had to cover themselves to even walk around with the hopes that, you know, that your hands and your face wasn't covered with any forms of lesions. If the leprosy was worse, you would be in really bad shape because what would happen is, is you would be totally outcast from people, and it would be really a difficult thing because you wouldn't be able to go into cities, you wouldn't be able to buy food, you'd have to manage all the work by yourself because even your family would have to keep a distance because they themselves would get sick. But Jesus is saying, look, I'm reaching out and touching you. So the very thing that would have normally infected a person, that transmission Jesus is like, no, I'm greater than that. And he says, I am willing, be clean. So he speaks to the leprosy and speaks to that man's body and says, be clean. And in that moment, what you see is, is that immediately the leprosy changed and he was cleansed. And I'm sure, like Naaman, his skin was like a baby's skin. And so that is so important to understand, is that there has to be a level of faith on the individual coming to God first. So there is an order here in which it works. There's an order in which it happens. So you have the person coming to Jesus, receiving his healing, Jesus rebuking the, the disease by his words, but actually laying hands on him. Okay, that— because that's key, because in, in scripture there is important aspects in which you need to lay hands on people in order for them to be healed. And this is what Jesus is saying, that he was greater than leprosy. But then he also follows on, because this is early on in his ministry, he's like, don't go out and tell anyone, but make sure you offer the priest the sacrifices, because Moses talked about this, is that if you are healed from leprosy, there is a sacrifice, and it becomes a testimony and glory to God when it occurs. And it's a really powerful moment for people to embrace that. Let's hop on to the second miracle that we want to talk about today, is Jesus heals the paraplegic. Now this comes from Mark Chapter 2, 2:12. And before I hop into the scripture, I really want to make sure you understand is that this scripture truly does show the impact of your friends and those around you, because your friend's faith can negatively or positively impact you. It says they gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came bringing him a paralyzed man carried by 4 of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, Son, your sins are forgiven. Now some of the teachers of the law were sitting there thinking to themselves, Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming. Who can forgive sins but God alone? Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this is what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, why are you thinking these things? Which is easier, to say to this paralyzed man, your sins are forgiven, or to say, get up, take your mat, and walk? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. So he said to the man, I tell you, get up, Take your mat and go home. He got up, took his mat, and walked out in full view of all of them. This amazed everyone. They praised God, saying, we've never seen anything like this. Now, this is a longer scripture, but it does hit home on a lot of big things. Again, Jesus spoke the healing. So let's talk about that first, is he talked directly to the healing. But notice what he needed to do first Was forgive the person of his sins. So what you can see here is that sin can block your healing. If you're a person who's struggling with some form of healing, maybe there's someone in your family, someone that you know or love that needs healing. If there's going to be something that's blocking their healing, more than likely it's going to be some form of sin. Now also, you must understand is, is that may not be their sin, as we talk about, and you see in Exodus. And in Deuteronomy, what you see here, and even talks about this in Numbers, that if there is a generational curse on that person because someone in their ancestry did not honor God and sinned, that generational curse will follow them for 3 to 4 generations. And so you must forgive the ancestor and ask God to forgive them too. So it's a combination because you have— you can't carry any unforgiveness in your own heart, but you must move forward and know that God's got to clean that slate And move forward. We even see this whenever there was issues with people, when David was talking to some folks, and he— then Saul had a blood guilt when he killed the people, and David went ahead and gave over some of Saul's sons in order to avenge the blood guilt. This is really important to understand, is, is that the sins of the father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-grandmother, whoever that may be, can ripple down and block your healing. That's what Jesus did first, is he saw the faith of his per— this person's friends. And that was so important because it— he didn't ever truly directly equated the faith to the paraplegic. He equated it to the people, which included his friends. And so his friends had so much faith that they went on top of this house and dug through the roof and let this person down. If you've seen The Chosen, if I remember correctly, in season 1, I do think that this scene plays out, and I think they did an excellent job in describing it and how it came to pass. But you start to see is, is that that's what Jesus did. But remember, Jesus is emulating everything that we can do. So when he says that he forgave sins, it also says— remember, in the Bible it also says that we can forgive sins also. And so this is important because you want to clean that slate and know that, hey, that you can ask God for forgiveness of sin. Obviously you can, you know, just ask God, say, hey, forgive them of their sins, clean Clean that slate and get that reconciled. And then what it does is it opens the door for healing. But what it does do is it shows that the power of God does transform a human's life completely, because now you have this paraplegic who had been— probably, if you think about the fact that it took 4 of them to carry him, so there was probably some size that was involved with it. Usually you could take Uh, 2 people would be more than enough, but the 4 of them probably showed that there, that there were all— that he had a group of people that he truly cared about and they cared about him, and that they were willing to go the extra mile. And obviously with all of that, with the 4 of them, you have the 4 corners and it allows them to let him down. So God knew in advance that having just 2 people carry him wouldn't have been enough, but having 4 do it shows the level of commitment that they were willing to do, that they were willing to bust through the crowds, they were willing to basically bust through the roof. And then by doing so, they break— get his breakthrough in a way that's transformative and huge. And it shows that Jesus says, like, think about this, that it says, what's easier, to forgive sins or to heal a paraplegic? And so it shows that his authority was transformative, but that our authority also is transformative, and that you can understand that with the right level of faith operating in that situation, it can be transformative, and it's amazing. And so it shows the power of God and the capability of God and those around them. And so I just want to continue to speak comfort for you if there's a situation in your life that you may be struggling with, maybe an infirmity, Maybe a generational curse. Maybe you have cancer that runs in your family. Maybe you have heart disease that runs in your family. Maybe you have alcoholism that runs in your family. You can break off of those things through repentance, and through repentance you can get set up for a healing by speaking into that healing and releasing yourself and releasing all those around you. Because you have to understand, when you get into something like a generational curse, when you break that generational curse, you're not just breaking it for yourself. You're breaking it for your spouse, you're breaking it for your children, you're breaking it for your siblings, you're breaking it for your cousins. You remember, you're breaking it for everyone. And it also ripples upward because remember, whenever you— there is, there is some issues with generational curses with people. I forget exactly the word it was, but they can become basically orphaned in the world. And what happens is that's 10 generations deep. So what happens is anyone that's outside part of that 10-generation ripple down, so you've got this huge family tree, they can become part of families and become loved and felt a part of a bigger picture. And so when you do that, when you are breaking free, you're rippling healing across a large swath of people that could be thousands and 10,000s of people when you go back 10 generations. And going back 10 generations is a long time. It would affect a lot of people. And so that's the power of Healing, because not only is there physical healing, there's spiritual healing, and obviously the, the healing around your heart and your mind, which is your soul. So let's hop on to the 3rd healing that we want to talk about. The power of Jesus Christ is Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood. Now this is an amazing one because this is the situation where Jesus actually has— there's dual miracles happening at the same time. So the background is, is you have Jairus who is basically the leader of the synagogue and making sure that he's managing all of those things. He comes to Jesus and his 12-year-old daughter is basically dying. And so now you have this woman who is also with the issue with blood, and a lot of people would consider someone with this kind of situation probably some form of STD. So she would probably have been already outcast, and she's bleeding. Again, same with the leper, would have been completely outcast. Remember, even in that time, if she she had, uh, just even her monthly flow over the course of a week, what happens is her husband can't even be on the same bed because that would make him unclean. And so for her, if she had a husband or was— or had people that she was with in that sense, if they had touched the cloths that she was on, sat on the bed she sat on, sat even on the chairs, by the law the religious law, they were made unclean, so they couldn't come to the temple, they couldn't offer sacrifices. So this woman's situation, like the leper, is really extreme because she's functionally an outcast. No one would go near her because they would become unclean. They couldn't go to the temple, and it would allow them to be outcasts. And since it lasted for 12 years, it started at the same time when Jairus's daughter was born. So you had these both events starting at the same time, culminating after 12 years. And this is the power of the situation. Also, on top of that, remember, in this situation, Jesus is going to heal Jairus's daughter, and he thinks— Jairus thinks that Jesus has to get there before her daughter— his daughter dies, because if Jesus doesn't arrive on time, he can't resurrect her. He doesn't understand that Jesus has the power of resurrection in him. And so, could you imagine the urgency that Jairus has Because it's going to take them some time to walk there. And so he had to go get Jesus, and then now Jesus is coming back. And then in the middle of it, this woman interrupts this scene and this beautiful miracle happens. That's the background in this power. And Jesus knows those things, and through it does not only the double miracle, but shows the power of God is timeless and has no bounds to what it can do. So Mark chapter 5 Verses 25 through 34, it says, and a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and spent all she had, and yet instead of getting better, she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in a crowd and touched his cloak because she thought, if I just touch his clothes, I'll be healed. Immediately her bleeding stopped And she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone from him. He turned around to the crowd and asked, who touched my clothes? You see the people crowding against you, his disciples answered, and yet you ask, who touched me? But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet Trembling in fear, told him the whole truth. She said to her— he said to her, daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering. Wow, what a powerful experience. Now the other thing too, again, like the leper— so here we have the opposite situation. The leper Jesus touches, showing that the power of leprosy cannot overpower the power of God. But in this instance She touches Jesus. Now, there is some thought in that time that that would have potentially led her to be killed because there is some issue with her coming and touching people and that there was an order within that. I don't remember in the scriptures that being, but it may have been a part of the religious law, the tradition that man added on top of it. So you have to think about it from her perspective that she's been suffering so greatly that she's willing to risk death to be healed. Because remember, if she goes up and touches Jesus, regardless if she gets healed or not, there's this— probably this law out there that shows that, hey, if you do this, you're going to die. So at that point, her life is void to her anyway. So think about this: she's been suffering for 12 years and had an infirmity for that long. She hasn't been able to go to the temple, can't offer sacrifices for her sins, and so she's basically completely outcast from society. She doesn't have the opportunity to go forward and have the intimate conversations we have with God today. She's broke because she spent all her money on doctors because she can't get anything, and yet it only made it worse. So who knows what they were doing and giving her? And then on top of that, she boldly become— she boldly comes before the throne of grace, which is Jesus Christ, and she thinks— notice this— so she thinks, she doesn't speak. She thinks now we'll talk about this here in a second. She thinks if I just touch his clothes, I'll be healed. But what you understand is is that what you understand is when you dive deeper into the wordplay that's going on here is she's been speaking this out loud. And if I remember correctly, in the Hebrew and in the Greek and how that works is is that something that she's basically telling herself publicly. If I just touch his clothes, I'll be healed. If I just touch his clothes, I'll be healed. And so now think about this from her perspective is is that she's boldly going before the throne of grace. And she's coming as she is— filthy, bleeding, unclean, sinful, unreconciled, unredeemed, the whole bit, right? And she comes before her, and then the moment she touches Jesus, the moment she comes into his presence, she touches probably the tassel on his cloak. And then guess what happens? And so now she's healed, and now all of a sudden she feels in her body that she's been freed from her suffering. This is really powerful because I believe there's a couple things here, because not only is there an emotional torment, but there's probably a mental torment, and then you've got this physical torment that goes with it. And yet she's freed from it all at once. And so the power of God works instantly and allows her to be free. But notice something— Jesus doesn't speak anything. Notice this. This is one of the miracles in which Jesus It just happens to be there, and then the power surges through him into the people. And so you have to think about this. This hearkens back to the, the miracle that happens later in Acts when Peter walks and his shadow touches people and they're getting healed, or the handkerchiefs that are blessed by Paul are sent out and they drive out demons and they heal people. Because what you have here is the fact that Jesus is completely consecrated. And walking in holiness, overflowing with the Holy Spirit, you see that power can surge through him. And that's the essence of a healing miracle that's here. Jesus is so consecrated and so holy that as he's moving forward, those that are in faith that just come in contact with him get healed. What does that mean for you? It means that if you're walking in holiness and you're walking in overflowing Spirit of the Holy Spirit, You can just be in the presence of people, walking past them and healing them without them ever even realizing it. That's the power of God. Whether it's your shadow, a handkerchief, whether it's you just brushing up against them, you just hugging them, you don't know the power that surges through you. Because when the Holy Spirit moves, he's going to move mightily, and he's going to drive out whatever he wants to drive out. And there's nothing that can stand up to him. And that's the essence of what we see here, this beautiful miracle that Jesus performs in, in the, in real time. He does it. But the interesting thing is, is that it doesn't end there. He then calls her out. He calls her out and says, hey, who touched me? Because what he wants to do is glorify God, because he knows that he, that he knew the power surged through him. But he wants her to come forth to know that not only is she physically healed Mentally and emotionally healed, but that she's been spiritually reconciled back to the Father because he calls her daughter. And so that's what you see here. The first word he calls her is daughter. He says, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering. That's the essence. So not only does God redeem the body, the mind, the soul, and the spirit, he redeems your relationship. He restores all the things that were lost because now, because she's called daughter, She's now been— she's basically regrafted back into the nation, and she can operate from that kingdom principle. And it means a lot because you can imagine if you're— if you've been through— if you're a person who's not had good parents or someone who's had absentee parents and you're trying to reconcile that, that's the essence of what Jesus was showing here, is that he loves you and that through him, he can reconcile you back to the Father. It's a powerful statement and a powerful miracle on so many levels. Let's hop over to the next miracle, that Jesus healed the deaf man. Mark 7, verses 31 through 35. It says, then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee, and into the region of the Decapolis. There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk. And they begged Jesus to place his hand on him. After he took him aside away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue. He looked up to heaven, and with a deep sigh he said to him, "Epithetata," which means "Be opened." At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened, and he began to speak. Plainly. Here we go again, yet another miracle in which Jesus does things differently. Miracles come through an infinite God. An infinite God has infinite ways to do things, and so you have to be attentive to the Spirit and understand how he wants to operate for you. So what you first see is, is that he leaves this vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon. And so you have to understand, Tyre is on the west coast Of Lebanon. And so what he's doing is, is he's moving down the coast, and he then heads over to the Sea of Galilee, which is east, into the region of the Decapolis, where that is the area of the 10 cities. And you have to understand is, is that he's going out and finding the lost children of God. He's going out there and do that. But they said, hey, look, we've got someone who is completely deaf and can hardly talk. And so at that point, if you understand people that are deaf-mutes, you understand that it's a combination. When you can't hear, it's hard to speak. And when you— and sometimes even though you can't speak, sometimes it could attach yourself to the ears. And so there is a combination thing going on. And what they did is they said, look, look, Master, I need you to heal him. Let's, let's do this. And he talks about this, but this is one of the few times that it doesn't talk about faith, but yet they want— they're impressing upon him. So notice the word they beg Jesus. So there may have been some aspect of prayers and continually coming to the throne of grace. If your healing hasn't happened yet, I just want to encourage you today that it is important that you can continue to come before the throne of grace over and over again, because sometimes healing is gradual. It's not always miraculous that happens at once. Sometimes you have to go through a process in which God wants to shed some things from you In order to prevent you from having the problem come back. It's really important. This can really apply if you're an alcoholic or you're a drug addict or you're addicted to pornography. He may want to remove the things that were causing you to trip up out of your life first before the healing takes place. Otherwise, the healing may just be— basically, you'll fall back into the trap. And that's a really important thing to recognize. Notice what Jesus does here. Is that he does— is, is that he takes the person away. So what he does is he separates himself from the crowd, unlike the, the last healing we just talked about, which was he was in the crowd when it happened. This one, he's separating himself. So sometimes it's important to separate yourself from the people in order for the healing to happen, because in the secret place, these are where the power occurs. And so what he wants to do is show that healing can In public places and in private places. What he then does is he then starts with the man's ears. He starts healing with them because what he said was, is if you go back to the verses, it says that he was deaf and could hardly talk. So he needs to fix the ears first in order then to receive the healing of the mouth. So then he, he puts his fingers into the man's ears. And that will allow the healing to settle in those specific areas. And then he spit and then touched the man's tongue. Now, I won't pretend to know the specifics on the spit and touching the man's tongue, but we know we want that to be loosened up. And so then he says this word, um, epatata, which means be opened. And so at that moment, he noticed the order. It says that the man's ears were opened and his tongue was loosened, as if it was bound by something. And so I'm not going to correlate him, him and his saliva in the healing. I, I don't know the specifics of that. But again, it's all about being obedient to the Spirit of the Lord and how the healing occurs. And so you see here that Jesus separates this man, does a process in which he then loosens different things, and then he begins to speak plainly. Now that's the power of God. The power of God comes in a particular order and is required to be done through a particular set of things in order to operate in a way that allows God to be glorified in an amazing way. Let's hop over to the official's son where Jesus heals him. And see, this comes from John chapter 4, verses 43 through 54, and says, after the 2 days he left for Galilee. Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet Has no honor in his own country. And I can, I can attest to that very truly. When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all he had done at Jerusalem in the Passover festival, for they had been there. Once he had visited Cana in Galilee, where he turned water into wine, there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee, From Judea, he went to him— notice that he went to Jesus— and begged him— here we go again, that word begged— him to come and heal his son who was close to death. Remember, people thought once people died, that was it. Unless you people see signs and wonders, Jesus told him, you'll never believe. The royal official said, sir, come down before my child dies. Go, Jesus replied, your son will live. The man took Jesus at his word and departed. While he was still on his way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when the son got better, he— they said to him, yesterday at 1 in the afternoon the fever left him. Then the father realized that was the exact time that Jesus said to him, your son will live. So he and his whole household believed. This was the second sign Jesus performed after coming from Judea. To Galilee. This again is another miracle that's power-packed. Yet again, we see another situation, another aspect in which Jesus heals that's completely different. In this instance, he just speaks the healing and he doesn't even go to the person. And so this is really important because if your situation is you have someone who's caught in suffering and dealing with pain, you actually don't have to be present. In order to declare that healing over them. This is really important because if you're on a prayer list and you see people coming over here, you're going to get a lot of people that you're not going to know because those people are going to be in different cities, different countries, in different situations, different time zones. And so you notice here is, is that this, this scripture starts off with Jesus getting no honor as a prophet, and that's very true. I've had that happen with my own self. that people that grew up with you cannot truly reconcile you being you because they never see you for who God sees you. And that's so important. When God sees you and you understand how he sees you, the power and the aspects that you can walk in, it's incredible and unlocked. But a lot of people, especially those you grew up with, don't see that, and they always look back at your past. They never look forward. Because even when you see in scripture You see them talking about, isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't this Jesus? He's from Nazareth. Nothing comes out of Nazareth. Like, there's nothing great, and there's no prophets that come from there. That's what the Pharisees talked about later. Yet Elisha, uh, actually Elijah was the Tishbite, actually, if I remember correctly, regionally came from that area. So people will just discount you just because of who you are in their own eyes. But notice what it says is the Galileans welcomed him. They'd seen what he had done, and they believed, and because they were also there, and they also knew about the wedding at Cana. So here we see this chain of healings that Jesus is going through, these chains of miracles that Jesus is going through, and the renown of Jesus is starting to grow. But you have to understand, in order for you to walk into certain aspects of your life, you need the Holy Spirit to spread. Your renown. And I know for some people, especially the religious people, they're like, well, well, Jesus gets the glory. Well, that is true, but Jesus works through people. And so the people have to ascend in order for Jesus to be glorified. Otherwise, that always stays under the waterline and no one notices these things. At some point, some things have to be public, and you do have to be the face of what Jesus is trying to accomplish. That's something that I struggled with a long time before even this ministry exploded online, because I didn't want to take the glory away from God. But God's like, no, you have to have some level of authority and recognition for yourself, otherwise I can never be glorified through your works. And so what you see here is, is that this royal official's son is sick in another city. So then he goes to Jesus. Notice this, he goes and finds Jesus and starts to beg him to come and heal his Now you'll notice that the reaction of Jesus again is almost that like of the, the leper, where there's some level of indignancy. He's like, look, why can't you just believe that I can heal your son? Why do you have to attach the signs that you saw in Canaan and elsewhere in Jerusalem in order for you to believe that I can heal him? Without those miracles, will you ever believe? But the royal official is just persistent. He's like, He says, please come down and help my son before he dies. Again, like the other person where you see the, the official where he's like, hey, you got to come and save my daughter, Jairus's daughter, before she dies, because they thought death was final. But we know even in death, nothing is final with God. In fact, death is just a springboard to something even better. And so Jesus says, go. Okay, he doesn't say Uh, your faith healed your son. He didn't say that your work to get to me healed your son. He just says, go, your son will live. And so all of those things come together. And so the man says— and so he— man says he took Jesus at his word and departed. So now what happens is, is Jesus gives him an instruction that's contrary to what he would expect it, because he's expecting Jesus to go and heal him. But he's like, okay, I'm going to take your word for it and heal. But notice that at that very moment, that's when the healing occurred. So Jesus spoke the healing. He says, your son will live. That's the essence of healing. When you need something to happen, sometimes you have to speak what you want to occur, even though you don't see it in the real world. It's no different if you have some— a situation that may be going awry at work or at school. Or elsewhere, you want to speak what you want to happen and not allow the world to come into place because you have the spiritual authority to do that. And so that's what he did. Jesus says, hey, your son's going to live. Fine. The guy's like, okay, I'm gonna go home. And now what happens is at that moment, his service and his servants realize the boy's fever has broke. And so they like immediately run to him. And so we don't— again, we don't know the distance. That, that all this exact distance, but you can imagine there's some time there. And then you'll notice that it at least was a day, because what you see here is, is that the servants catch up with the master a day later. And you know, because he says yesterday at 1 in the afternoon the fever left him. That's the time that he had met Jesus. And that's when the father realized, oh wow, this is when he said your son will live. And so at that moment, everyone believed. That Jesus Christ was Lord, because they said the whole household came under agreement and believes that. And that's the power of Jesus in that moment. Again, another miracle which he spoke what he wanted to happen and met the people in faith, and the person received it in faith. And that was all he had to do. He had the— all he had to do is come boldly before the throne of grace, ask for healing, he receives it, and then takes it. Because remember, he could have had Jesus— he could have drugged Jesus like Jairus did to the— to back to the house. But Jairus needed to see Jesus in the place. But at that time, he could have just let Jesus go. If Jairus had the faith of this man, his daughter would have— would probably would have never had died. But rather, in the process of returning, Jairus's daughter passes away, and then Jesus has to to heal her while Jairus is present. But yet this man and his son get healed and believe in real time, and it's an amazing miracle that shows the true power of God. Let's hop over to a shorter verse that shows a couple really cool things in, in all of the scriptures. So Jesus healing Peter's mother-in-law. So what we see here in Luke chapter 4, verses 38 through 39, it says, Jesus left the synagogue— notice where he starts, at church— and he went home to the house of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up once and began to wait on them. Now this is a really cool set of verses because a lot of people, especially those caught up in the Catholic Church, are going to be wondering, well, what, what about the priests and the nuns? They are not supposed to marry. Yet they believed Jesus— they believed Peter, who was not the Pope— who they believed Peter was the Pope even though he wasn't. It was not scriptural. It's just totally made up. That's their tradition. They— that's like saying King George was the first president of the United States. It's just people 300 years later attaching a title to Peter because they want to show their connection to Jesus Christ. Again, it's not necessarily accurate, but that's the way they did it. But even then, Peter was married. And so it shows that even their tradition is false further, because what it does is it prevents people from coming into a marriage covenant and causes a lot of issues. And you've seen that, and you've seen that over the decades of all the abuse that's happened in the Catholic Church. So here is a scripture that debunks two critical things that the Catholic Church stands on, but then it really then shows the power of Jesus, because what it does is, is that it shows that you have to be in covenant with God. And what it means to be in covenant with God means that you need to be spending time in God's house. It's important because Jesus was in his Father's house about his Father's business. And so then he leaves his Father's house, and then he goes to the home of Simon. So now you know that he's been prayed up. He has been worshiping his Father, glorifying his Father, doing all the things, emulating all the things that we need to be doing. Giving him thanks, giving him praise. And then he goes and he notices again, like the previous, um, previous miracle that we just talked about, there's another fever. And so she's dealing with a high fever. And you know, if you've ever had a high fever, it's one of the more difficult things in order to endure because you have to deal with a lot of basically sufferings, aches and pains and weakness, because that's what the fever does, is the body basically tries to To get you to shut down your activities so it can heal you. But they had asked Jesus to intervene, so he bends over. Notice this— notice he doesn't touch her, he bends over her. Okay, so this is important. So there's an action that he performs, and then he speaks to the fever, says, go, basically rebukes it, and then it immediately leaves her. And then she got up at once and began to wait on them. So think about this from the perspective— yet again, here is a another miracle. It's a fever just like the, the official's son, but yet this one, Jesus doesn't go and see the son, bends over and speaks to him. Rather, in Peter's mother-in-law, he bends over her and rebukes the fever, and then it leaves her, and she's healed so powerfully that she basically gets up and starts to serve them. And so you can clearly see that servant mentality that was a part of Peter's mother-in-law and be able to just go out there and help them. And so you'll notice here that Jesus again does something yet different. He doesn't touch her. He actually probably doesn't even say anything to her. What he does is he, he hovers over her, kind of like the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, during Genesis chapter 1, where the Spirit was hovering over the waters and there was chaos, and then God was taking the chaos and bringing it under order. And so what you see here is that same visual that Jesus is hovering over this chaotic situation in which she has this high fever. It doesn't say fever, it says high fever. So more than likely she was probably stressed, maybe 103, 105 fever, maybe even more. And she's potentially at risk of dying because back then they didn't have the medicines we had today to even just slow down the fevers, to keep them from— if they spiral out of control, to bring them back under, under order. And so Jesus is hovering over the chaos, speaking to the chaos, not to the— not to Peter's mother-in-law. He speaks directly to the chaos and basically says, go. He rebukes it, go, and it leaves. It has no authority to stay there. And because that's the essence of what he did, Jesus had been prayed up, had been focused on his Father relationship. He had habitated with his Father. He wasn't a visitor. He knew his Father. His Father knows him. And then when he comes into a place where he has to confront some form of chaos, in this case, you know, this fever, the fever can't stand in his presence anymore and it has to go. And that's the power of what God does in that moment, is, is that he sets the captives free. And it's an incredible experience for Peter's mother, uh, going forward. The next healing miracle that I want to touch on is the faith of the centurion. It comes from Luke chapter 7, verses 1 through 10. It says, when Jesus had finished saying all this to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum. There a centurion's servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and was about to die. The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant. When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, this man deserves to have you do this because he loves our nation and he's built our synagogue. So Jesus went with them, and he was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him, Lord, don't trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. This is why I didn't even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word and my servant will be healed, for I myself is a man under authority and soldiers under me, I tell this one, go, and he goes, and this one, come, and he comes. I say to my servant, do this, and he does it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowds following him, he said, I tell you, I've not found such great faith even in Israel. Then the man who had sent the men to the house returned and found the servant well. What a powerful set of verses. Let's go ahead and continue to unpack them because this is probably the one set of verses that shows the true faith that probably rivals a lot of what we see today in Christian circles. And so what we see here is, is that you see that the first things first is that now this is not a Jewish person. Now, if you know Jesus's ministry, it was primarily geared towards going to the children of God. And although he did in some instances through his travels found people that would have had faith in him, and then he healed them or provided deliverance ministries, as we had with the widow when his, uh, when he talked about the dogs eat from the scraps from the table— what a statement that was. But what you see here is, is you've got this Roman centurion, very powerful situation. He's basically saying, look, I've got a highly valued service. So probably someone Like, this servant is probably like a son to him. And so what you see here is he's saying, look, we really want, uh, this person to be healed. But notice the centurion doesn't go to meet Jesus. He sends his servants to do his bidding. Because remember, the centurion understands authority. Authority recognizes authority. This is so important because when you start to recognize Jesus's authority in you through the Holy Spirit, you've got next-level power, and it is his power that you're wielding, not your own. And when you understand that and respect that, you start to— everything starts to come into being. So what I start to see here, and I want to really articulate, is, is that one, he loved the nation of Israel. He built the synagogue, the church that was in that town. And so Jesus was like, okay, here is a person who is a Gentile. Foreigner, but yet he may not even necessarily be associated with the town, but he still loved them and still did the work for them. And so when the, the centurion talks about these situations, he knows that Jesus is a great authority and that the centurion isn't worthy. So there's a humility aspect that's a part of this healing that isn't in the other healings that we talked about already. It's really important to understand that as you come before the throne of grace, that you do really understand that, like, this God that we're approaching, this Jesus, this Father, our, our own, our own relatives, right? They adopted us into his kingdom, into his family. We have to understand that he, uh, he does sit in unapproachable light. Like, we do have to understand that who he really is, and that, yeah, as Abraham said, I am just but mist And, uh, and just basically nothing more than ashes before him. I mean, he's— we're dust, right? Like, ultimately, he is the authority, he has the power. And so when we understand that and can humble ourselves, that's when you start to see faith and power and action. And so he understands this through humility. He understands his worthiness is not there. There's nothing he can do, but he does understand that Jesus has the power To set this person free. And so all he says is, look, you just have to say the word, no different than how I say the word to make things happen. You then must do the same, and my servant will be healed. And so he knows, one, Jesus doesn't even have to be present for the healing to occur. So this man had great faith. He understands from a humility perspective who Jesus is and where he is in the context of things, and recognizes the authority that Jesus Jesus has. Then Jesus says, wow. He then looks to the crowd and says, look, I've not seen faith like that in all of Israel. But notice in the scriptures, which is even more important, that in the context of the healing, Jesus doesn't speak the healing. Though there may have been some conversation that occurred, it's not documented. And so what you see here is, is that faith alone coupled with your actions can bring healing for others that they are under your sphere of influence or metron. This is so powerful because you could see this in today in churches, that you can walk into a church stirred up in faith, stirred up in humility, believing and declaring and decreeing these things, because that's what he said. He decreed it. He decreed that, hey, you can do this Even without coming here, I get it. All you have to do is say the word. But even in that, your confession is so powerful because now people under your house, your children, your friends, your family, your all the people, even teachers or professors or and your coworkers, managers, those people are going to operate under your sphere of influence, even if it's not direct. And you, by standing in faith. Can just pray and declare and decree and stand in. We're going to pray for forgiveness, uh, decree and declare their healing, and just stand in humility and faith, and God will move mightily. That's the essence of what this healing miracle did. Let's hop on to the next one where we see Jesus healing a man's withered hand on the Sabbath, which probably, to be honest with you, this is probably the one miracle that starts The, uh, cascade to the cross, because what we see here is the religious authorities aren't doing anything on the Sabbath. And obviously, clearly, what they didn't understand was, is it was about doing your day job during the Sabbath. And you have to understand too, is, is they were an agricultural society, so rest was really key because your body would break down if you didn't take care of it and give it rest. It's not like today's society where a lot of people are Or knowledge thinkers, which they need a different set of rest. But that's what they were doing, is they just kept pushing people, and they're like, hey, set aside time for God, but that doesn't mean you can't do good on the Sabbath. Why would, why would we exclude an entire day to help other people? If someone fell and couldn't get up, would you just let them lay there for 24 hours without picking them up? That's not God, what God wanted. And so what we see here In Luke chapter 6, verses 6 through 11, we see the power of what Jesus was talking about. On another Sabbath, he went to the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled. The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to the man with the shriveled hand, get up and stand in front of everyone. So he got up and stood there. Then Jesus said to him, I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath, to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it? He looked around at them all and he said to the man, stretch out your hand. And he did so, and his hand was completely restored. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious and began to discuss with one another What they might do with Jesus. Here is another situation. Okay, so notice what Jesus says. He says, stretch out your hand. This is probably something— when you understand when you have a shriveled hand and how it probably looked, it was probably really malformed, and possibly more than likely it was probably done at birth, given, given the society. There's not likely that was something that was done. It could have been from an injury. But either way, when you have it shriveled, it's gonna be shrunk up. So what Jesus is saying is, is he's actually saying, stretch out your hand. He's actually saying, expand your hand, which he could not have done had he not been healed. And so what you see here is Jesus is actually speaking the action the man could not do, but yet declaring by his word that he can. And he, in spite of the religious authorities and the understanding around it, that God healed him. Now, if Jesus was in a sinful state— this is where the Pharisees completely missed it— if he was in a sinful state, why would God honor the miracle at that point in time? This is something that they completely missed, because God did it to prove his glory. And God's not going to diminish a day in order for him not to receive glory. That's just not how he works. Healing is something that's Done 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It's— that's what God does. He's always been a healer. He's always done these things. And so what you see here in this withered hand is that, that God showed that the hand of God can move mightily in any situation at any given time, and that no situation is too great for God to overcome, and that even festival Even days of the week don't apply in order for the goodness of God, because the goodness of God happens all the time. This is where a lot of people that believe that healing, uh, and the cessationists, this is where they believe healing was for the apostles, that prophecy had ceased, and all these things occurred back in the first century because they're walking around powerless. God doesn't change. He says that he can't change. If he did it for someone, he'll do it for someone else. He says he's a respecter of no persons. These are all biblical verses. And so God can't contradict himself just because we believe that the power's diminished. But no, God has moved in mightily ways and moved even in my life, and I have seen it done in my life. I have been experiencing myself receiving such power and such grace, and it's just incredible that even like the other day my back was sore and I just kept speaking to it. I was like, no, You be strong. Inflammation go. Muscles strengthen up. Bones align. And you know, you know, basically talk to everything—the ligaments, the tendons, the cartilage—and said, "Get in order. You have to be aligned with the perfect will of God in my life because that's how I want you to operate. That's how my body needs to operate. It's impossible for me to be not be at 100 percent." And so that's how God honors you—is through your confession and through your words and through the words that you speak, your declarations. The things you say. That's how healing throughout all of scripture that Jesus talked about was done. It was all done by speaking the words that he wanted to happen even though they weren't. And that's really ultimately faith at its core. And so I really hope that you enjoyed this live stream. I'm excited that you stuck along this round for this entire time. I really appreciate it, and I hope that really edified you and that it will give you a path forward to help others, including yourself, receive the healing that God has for you.
