My BIGGEST mistake...

Hi, my name is John Humenik. Welcome to the channel. I'm so excited you're here. Today we're gonna be talking about the one secret that kept me from becoming a millionaire for many, many years. And I'm gonna go ahead and reveal it today because I want you not to make the same mistakes in your Christian walk as you go forward. One of the most important things as a part of the Christian walk is, is that we are called to dominate life through Jesus Christ. It's something that this ministry is very passionate about, and it's things that we talk about throughout all the videos that we want you to enjoy and become edified through, to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ. But one of the key things to note is, as you're walking out victory in Christ, is, is you cannot do it from a posture of being broke. You can't operate in kingdom excess if you are operating from a position of lack. We know the great lie that poverty is piety just ruined the church so many years ago, and it still is a stronghold on a lot of Christians today because you'll even see people talking about the prosperity gospel and mixing it in with things that aren't the prosperity gospel. The prosperity gospel is very real, but it has nothing to do with kingdom business and kingdom acceleration in the context of finance. We see this happening in Genesis and Genesis 2. Why was there gold there? This was prior to the fall of man. And so why was there something of great value as a part of Adam and Eve's walk? You see this again and going on into Abraham when the blessing returned into the earth that God put on him. And we see that How bountiful Abraham got, because look at how him and Lot became so abundantly blessed that they had to physically separate because their flocks had consumed the land and their actual people that were overseeing all the things they had started fighting over the space. The essence of God's people is always about overflow. It's always about abundance. It's always about having a dominating life through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was so wealthy that his treasurer went with him everywhere he went. Solomon was the richest man in the history of the world with trillions and trillions of dollars in net worth. In fact, we don't really even understand how much money Solomon made because we don't understand all of the things that he got as a part of the things that he was collecting on an annual basis. What we know, it was just excessively high. Even David at the end of his life was donating billions and tens of billions of dollars to the building of the temple, and his mighty men outdid him. So when we start to understand that prosperity with in the context of the kingdom is key for your success, what are the things that you're doing today that keeps you from operating in that overflow? The one secret that kept me from operating in a millionaire mindset that ultimately kept me from becoming a millionaire was very, very straightforward. In fact, I didn't even realize until after someone had exposed it to me that I realized, oh wow, I'm not doing this one thing. And the one thing happened, it changed, and everything just started to skyrocket. So let me give you a little bit of background on how Works is you understand in the Bible that a generous person will devise schemes in order to be generous. It's a really strongly worded Bible verse because what it means is, is someone who's generous is going to have an intentional approach to donating money, to giving money, to blessing people, and to helping them out. It's an intentional step. It's something that they devise. It's a scheme. It's a plan. It's thought through. It's something that they intentionally look at the person that they're going to to go bless and think about what are the things that they could use right now? What are the things that they want that they don't have? How can I do that? How can I go ahead and sow something into that person, his or her life? Is it a pastor that you love that's been taking care of you and shepherding your life? Is it a good family friend? Is it maybe an uncle or aunt who has blessed the family financially or has blessed you by being a good steward and doing those things? Is it a teacher or mentor? It's— there's someone in your life who just loves you to death and wants you to be highly successful. And in doing so, what happens is, is this is an opportunity for you to scheme and do something very different. But that's only the beginning of what that part of that why I walk that I started to recognize. Because as I started to go into this planning phase, it dawned on me that in order for me to break through from this level that I had plateaued at into the millionaire status, into the multimillionaire status, is that there was one thing that was missing, and it was a piece of knowledge that the Holy Spirit gave to me. And he did it so subtly that I didn't even recognize it until after the fact. We know, and we talk about this on this channel, that God teaches you the how before he teaches you the what. This is really key because this is the thing that God does, is you will actually do things from a biblical standpoint, but you won't even recognize it. And then eventually later, God tells you what that thing you had been doing, and then you recognize, oh, that's a biblical That's a biblical principle that is now a part of my life, but I was walking it out in advance before I knew what it was. The how in the kingdom of God comes before the what. And it's counterintuitive because society wants you to learn the what before you do the how. So that's kind of like knowledge and wisdom, but God does wisdom and then knowledge. And so that's why when Solomon asked God for discernment, which was also trans— some translations wisdom, he wanted to focus on how to do things. He figured out what he was doing later. And hence the Proverbs came and Ecclesiastes and all these other beautiful books, the Song of Solomon and so on and so forth. So one of the things God had me do is he had me devising these schemes to be generous. He had me starting to sow these different things into different people because that's what we started seeing. I started seeing these actions in other people's lives that they were talking about, how they started sowing these different things into people. And then what happened was, is it would come, come back to them pressed down, shaken together, and running over. I even saw a story once of Pastor Vlad talked about how he gave away 6 cars. He kept buying cars, paying them off. Again, I don't know exactly how much he was spending on them, and he just kept giving them away, giving them away, and giving them away. Evangelist Taylin Michael did the same thing with his cars, and eventually he ended up with a G-Wagon that he was able to pay for in cash. And those blessings then reciprocated down because one of the people that he gave the car to, that individual ended up in a car accident and ended up— was able to actually pay off some debt as a part of that experience. Unfortunately, it's not exactly what any way one would want to go in order to pay off debt, but they were able to leverage the situation and be able to wipe out debt that they had. And so God is going to use your blessings to reciprocate down to people in ways that go further. But that's the thing is, is I was doing this. I was donating money to church, helping people. If someone needed money, we would just give them money for food. If they needed money for rent, we would give them money for rent. If they needed travel money because they were going somewhere, maybe a sporting event or something for their children, we would just helped them, especially missionaries. We were helping them on a big scale. Our church is very active in a lot of the different missions across the world, and we would sow every single time we had an opportunity to sow. We sowed every single chance that I was out and about. I actually always carried extra cash on me in order for me to expect running into a homeless person. So I always had money on me, and I let myself be led by the Holy Spirit. For the most part, he had me give them money, but in some cases he said, don't, don't give them cash. And so we really don't, you know, didn't press into that, but I was always devising schemes in order to help others, in order to do more. We were sowing vacations for people. We were sowing opportunity for people to be able, you know, be able to purchase things and do more and just continue to just pour out more and more. But what we weren't recognizing was this one secret, is that every single seed that's planted yields the seed that you're planting. So this is really important. So let me take one step back in order to take a couple steps forward. So when we go to Genesis, it talks about Every seed-bearing plant will yield the same kind of seed. We know that's the same of animals. We obviously recognize that with humans. So what happens is, is that when you are devising plans in order to be generous towards others, the plan itself will yield additional harvest for you later in life. So if you are, if you are devising plans for vacations, guess what happens? Ultimately, someone's gonna sow a vacation into your life. If you're devising plans to say, let's say for example, you like to donate watches or sunglasses or even, you know, cars, for example, or you donate money for cars or you donate money for food or rent. What happens is, is that's the seed that's then planted in the ground that God can then start to operate with in order to multiply it and come back to you pressed down, shaken together, and running over. So now we had finally the knowledge attached to the wisdom in order for me to break through from the levels that I was at in order to go to the next level. And that led me to understand these core concepts, that the seeds that I was sowing, whether it was time, talent, or money, and those seeds would then lend itself to more seeds that would come back into a full-blown harvest that allowed me to break through these plateaus that I was stuck on, and I didn't understand why. So one of those areas was, is being able to honor a man or God through your service. What you do for one person, God will do for you. And so what happened was, is God put me in a position to be able to help a young entrepreneur who had a young business, to be able to steward them through the things that they were challenged with, to get them to this next level of, of just moving on and allow them to grow it into almost what was basically really on the fast track of becoming an 8-figure business. So what happened was, is as that was happening, the very same seed that I had sown into that business turned around and became the harvest in which God gave to me in order for me to explode into the areas that I did. So what God did for me is what I did for this one individual. So what happened was, is as I was sowing my time and my talents and all those things, my money and all these things into this organization, What happened was, is God turned around and said, great, I'm gonna now send almost 2 dozen people to do the same for you. And that's what he did. And what that did was, is it opened up the doors to other financial opportunities for them to build an organization that, that could be run. And that is what got me to the next level. And so it punched me through that million-dollar status, that multimillion-dollar status, because what it did was, is the seed that I had sown into an individual came down back to me, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. So if you're moving forward in life and you're stuck, I want to encourage you today to start scheming great plans for other people. Start to sow some money into them for food and watch God bring food to you. We had this situation happen to us before where we helped so many people through meal trucks, meal plans, all kinds of other stuff. And a few years ago, when we hit rock bottom financially, we had people just dropping food off at our doorstep, in our garage, in our kitchen, dropping off gift cards, and we had no lack ever. We never had a point in which we did not have a full refrigerator and full food. And if in fact, when we finally went through some of the things we were doing, God was just clearing that space in order to overflow it again because he wanted to, to basically bless us with new food that was fresh and ready to go. So there was never a point. in our life that the seeds that we had planted did not come back to us in overflow. And so that's my encouragement to you today. If you are a person that wants to go and travel, start to donate some money into people. Give them— say, hey, look, I'm going to give you $10, and I want you to use that to go take a vacation for yourself. It doesn't have to be $1,000 or $10,000. Start small. Start sowing. Start doing it. If you have an extra pair of shoes that you don't use that are really nice, Sew them into someone. I'm sure for the ladies, the purses— there's so many different things— dresses, shirts, suits. There's— I'm sure there's things in your house that are just high quality that you're not using today, that if you just clean up and present to people and start to donate those things, you'll get those back. We saw that when we donated our clothes to Goodwill. We just kept getting clothes back. You will see God be generous in your life. the moment you start to sow those seeds. Sow your time, sow your talents. Don't forget about those things. Those don't cost much, if anything at all. And so you can start to break through the plateaus that you have with this one piece of knowledge, this secret that kept me from understanding that in order for me to be and operate in abundance, I had to have an abundant generosity and an approach to be able to help others. Because when God sees you doing that, He is going to move in your life in ways that you never thought possible, and when God does, he always blows you away.
