Prophecy - Stop Dwelling on Your Past!

In this solo prophetic teaching, John Humenik urges listeners to cease living in the regrets of their past and to embrace the present and future that God has prepared. He explains that prophecy’s core function is to "kaleo" (bring) future promises into the present, drawing on 1 Corinthians 14 (edification, exhortation, comfort) and Romans 5:3‑5 (trials producing character). Humenik emphasizes that current hardships—pain, anxiety, financial struggles—are tools God uses to shape believers for greater destiny. He calls the audience to align their mindset, emotions, and words with Scripture, to expect breakthrough, and to move forward in victory, hope, and joy. The message culminates with a practical invitation to support his ministry via Patreon, positioning partnership as a way to help spread the gospel and enable others to experience prophetic empowerment.

If you're new to prophecy, I want you to understand that you should be able to take all of the words that I talk about today back to the Lord in prayer. And you're only going to know that in your prayer time with him. So go ahead, get your pen and paper out. We're going to talk about a lot of amazing things today. So God is going to be able to unlock the treasures that are stored in your heart today. And we've got an amazing video that's coming up about the new Catholic Pope that's going to launch on May 18th. You're going to want to watch that one. It's going to be amazing. So one of the things that God wants you to understand about prophecy, at the core of prophecy, it is about kaleoing the future into the present. Obviously we've got, you know, 1 Corinthians 14 where it talks about edification, exhortation, and comfort. But at the underlying aspect is prophecy is the look into the future, at least in our timeline, because God is timeless, and pull those things forward back into the presence or into the presence so that you can receive all the things that God has for you. It's unlocking the things that are binding you, calling out the things that your life, maybe a lifestyle, maybe a choice that you made, maybe even a mindset that keeps you from being able to move forward in victory. The heart of prophecy is to pull you forward and up and to move into a direction where God wants you to be today and going forward. And for you as a Christian, it's so important to recognize that this is your hour. God is calling. This is your day for you to step forward in victory, for you to take off the chains, for you to put back And look back in the rearview mirror and say those things are in the past. They're going to stay there so that you can move forward. This message is for those people who continue to speak over themselves things of like the glory days were in high school, that the glory days were in college, that you always look back and say, "Oh, I missed my opportunity here. I should have done that there." This prophecy is for those people who are stuck in the past even though they're living in the present, who continue to look back and wonder and have vain imaginations about what things could have been like. If you had done something a little bit differently, maybe you had gone to school a little longer, or you didn't quit that job, or you hung on to that girlfriend or boyfriend who then became successful elsewhere. I want you to see and know definitively that God's got you exactly where he wants you. He's got you in a place of love. He's got you in a place of hope, in a place of an expectancy that all of the things that you recently went through, All of the trials, the tribulation, the pain, the suffering, the things that you thought were trying to destroy you, Jesus was using to build your character and to build you up into the person that you need to be. Because it talks about this in Romans 5:3-5, and I'm going to summarize it because in general what it basically says is that all the things that you're enduring is meant to increase and develop your character. That in these moments of tribulations, what you thought was designed to destroy you is actually forming you the person God wants you to be. And I want to really understand and feel encouraged today because that's the essence of what God wants you to do. He wants you to stop looking back at your past. He wants you to stop looking at the things that— what if, or if I had done this, or what could have been done had I invested in this company back then, or should I made that decision not to move away from here? God wants you to know That he sees you, that he sees you exactly where you're at, that he knows the pain and the heartache. He knows the breakthrough that you want in your heart, the things that you have been striving for, the things that you've been pushing through in your flesh to try to get better, to try to get out of debt, to be able to move into that dream house or purchase that car that you want so badly. God knows that you want those things. God knows that you're trying to get out of the holes that you have basically dug for yourselves, traps that you've fallen in. And he's saying, now is your time. This is your season. This is your moment where you're able to go forward in victory, in hope, and be able to say definitively that now I am where God wants me, that I am in his perfect will, that I am operating in kingdom principles, that I am looking forward and not looking back, that the things he has in front of me are incredible and exciting, that I am blessed in my coming and my going, that everything that I do It comes back to me pressed down, shaken together, and running over. That I can move forward in victory, that I can move forward in hope and in joy. That even though that I might have pain in my body, that I might have struggles in my mind, some anxiety, some depression, and all these other things that try to grip me and pull me down, try to weigh me down, the medication that continues to cause me problems, that I will break free of those things. You will break free of those things. That God knows that you are going to be able to accomplish the work that he has set for you on this earth so that when you see him, face to face. And when you walk up to Jesus Christ, he is going to say, well done, good and faithful servant. Come into the rest in all of eternity and enjoy the fruits of the labor. And so I want to encourage you today that that rearview mirror needs to be torn down, that you need to stop looking back at the past, that where your glory days were in high school and in college, where you might be a part of the track team, the football team, soccer team, whatever sport that you may be involved with. I want you to know that God knows that that was just a stepping stone, that while you may have had success and it may have been enjoyable, that was not your greatest hour. Your greatest hour is still in front of you, that your greatest days are still in front of you, that you are going to live well beyond the things that you see, that you are going to accomplish way more than you thought you accomplished. You're going to be able to be the person that you always wanted to be for your family, for your parents, for your mother, for your brother and sister, and all the people that are around you, especially for your, your spouse and your children. God is going to bless you abundantly to be able for you to move forward in victory and in hope. And I want you to receive this message today in hope and in faith with an expectation of greatness, because you need to learn, as we talked about before, to have joy in the sacrifice, to be able to know that during these trials and tribulations, that during these times that you're refining your character, that God continues like a potter to continue to work out the things that he needs you to work out of your system, out of your mind, out of your body, out of the things that you're doing. He's refining you to the person he needs you to become in order for you to receive the fullness of all you have before you. Because God needs you to go forward and up. In order to go forward and up, you must be able to receive those things which in the body— but to receive them, you have to be able to handle them with the mind. That your mindset, that your approach, that your emotion, that your words line up with scripture, line up to move forward in victory and in hope, so that you can move forward in greatness, so that every single that you see before you becomes another thing that you will accomplish, that you will be able to find the buried treasure that is a part of the kingdom of God, that you will be a part of the movement, crusades and missionaries, and a part of the things that will allow you to find those people who are lost and bring them back to Christ, that you will be able to prophesy to many nations, that you will speak to the peoples, that you will continue to give those things so that they can come to be, so that you can speak them into people who then have no hope, but yet through your words have a hope so that they could see the future and so they can come into the reality that what God has in store for them. And that's the essence of prophecy. And I speak these words over you so that you can receive them today. Receive them with an open heart. Receive them with an open mind. Receive them with joy so that you can walk out things in victory and so that you can be energized, taking on the joy of the Lord, which is your strength, to rise up into the day. into tomorrow and into the future with an expectation that all these things that God is planning for you, no matter how grandiose they sound, he is going to deliver them over and over and over again. And that's who the Lord is for you. That's what he's done— that no enemy can rise up and be able to stop you, that no nation has an army big enough to conquer you, that nothing, whether censorship or other things that are going on God is greater than all these things and that he will only see victory for you from this day forward. So receive this with an expectation of greatness. Receive this with an expectation of hope so that God's love can wash over you. His peace can settle upon you, that his joy can power you forward and allow the patience of the Holy Spirit to be the marker that you need to allow every single season to come into fullness, that every single fruit will be completely ripe before So I pray that you receive this message today and you receive it with an open heart.
