Prophet's Metron

A prophet's sphere of influence, or metron, starts with themselves and expands outward as their faith and maturity grow. Within a church, prophets must submit to pastors or apostles and get permission before speaking officially. The metron can eventually reach beyond the local church to cities, nations, and globally, but only through character development, spiritual maturity, and God's timing.

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great day today. So day 4 of our discussion on the prophetic, and we're moving into a topic called metron, which is the sphere of influence. So if you're new to my channel or if you have followed me on other social media, please make sure that you click on the subscribe button and share this video with those who may be interested in the prophetic, or maybe those who may have questions if this is something that they may be continuing to operate. Today's video is going to be a little bit different. I've got a whiteboard. We're gonna be actually talking and actually drawing out some stuff, so you'll bear with me. I don't have it mounted on the wall behind me, so it's gonna be a little bit different in how it's going to be presented. But today is the metron, which means the sphere of influence in which a Christian operates within the context of the ministry that God allows that person to operate. Generally, within the context of a metron, that's something that's based primarily on your faith. And so as you're a prophet, as you're being trained and educated and being able to be skilled and equipped by the Holy Spirit or by others, if you're mentoring under other people, one of the key things to understand is, is that your sphere of influence when you start is pretty much yourself. And so one of the key things to understand is, is that God will minister to you, drop prophetic words into your spirit so that you can actually start to minister yourself in order to kind of course-correct your life in the way that he wants you to operate. And that's really how the prophetic starts in a person's life. You do get a situation where they may get prophetic dreams about other people. You may have— get prophetic utterances in the context of their ministry or works that God has planned for you. But for the most part, a prophet automatically starts with ministering to themselves, and that's how God safely and carefully starts to grow their metron or their sphere of influence based upon their faith. And so let me go ahead to the whiteboard here and bear with me if you see some glare. But the idea is, in the context of a prophet, you're gonna be focusing on yourself. And so whenever you see the, the context of the prophetic, you're gonna be dealing with areas of— that's your sphere of influence. And what happens is, is as your prophetic anointing grows, what's gonna happen is it's gonna start to grow. And so you may get including your family. So if you're a head of a household, or if you have brothers and sisters, cousins, other family members, your parents, the sphere of your Metron will continue to grow. And the best way to describe Metron is kind of picture it as like an umbrella. So it's kind of the sphere in which you can operate. And this is key because as your faith grows, Your metron will continue to get bigger and bigger in the sense of how things are growing. And then as you continue to go within the context of your, your ministry to God, the key thing is, is you may start to include friends. And so as you continue to grow your metron and your faith in God, and as you continue to have this influence, as God trusts you, your influence within the context of the prophetic will continue to grow. and grow and grow. Now you'll notice here is, is that I've left this space over here for other things. So one of the key things to understand is, is that you'll have your local church. And as we talked about this within the context of your local church, is, is that in order to operate within the context of local church, you really pretty much have to be confirmed by leaders. And the reason being is, is that their local church is under the dominion of Of a pastor or an apostle or someone equivalent to that. And so that's the area, their metron, that they're operating in that God has assigned to them. Even if you're called to be a prophet into your local church, you're— you don't have no authority there to speak unless one of two things happens. One, explicitly the Holy Spirit is starting to train you and you're starting to give maybe words of knowledge or words of encouragement. Or if you've been confirmed. And even in the first instance that we talked about, being— having words of knowledge or wisdom or even edification, that's going to be very limited in scope. You're not really going to be involved in decisions or, or being able to make changes. So you'll see a lot of prophets, this is where they start to go wrong, is they start their influence in, in their ministry that God has assigned to them, and it focuses on me. And then they want to make a leap over to the local church. And that's really not how it works, because you really have to understand that that dominion has already been carved out for someone else to lead. And as a prophet, you really are— especially when you get commissioned to the local church, you're going to have a higher level of responsibility, because now God is going to be pouring into you things that he wants the church to do. And that decision-making really puts you at a very high level within the context of your anointing and in your role. So it's really So it's really more of an important role, and it is not something that someone can just walk in and say, hey, I'm the, the local prophet or the church prophet. Like, that's not how it works. So as you continue to move your metronome and as you're moving into the local church, you may get a commissioning where you come in here. And so you really come into the thing that we talked about yesterday, which is where we have submission and permission. And so these are the 2 concepts that you're going to have, even in the context as a prophet within in the context of a local church. And this also applies to other churches as well as if you may have other opportunities to talk into maybe like governments or leaders or corporations or other things. You're really going to be still operating under this concept of submission and permission. And the reason why this is important is, is that you still have to be submitted to the leadership of that church, the local church, this other church, or even if you're going to government leaders or otherwise, because they're still operating in their sphere of influence. And you are coming in as, as a representative of God, but God is a God of order. There's a hierarchy throughout his entire kingdom, and that kingdom is carved out. So as your metron grows and leadership begins to trust you, and it's really going to be based upon your character and your walk with God, and as the Holy Spirit it says, okay, now leaders, it's time to commission this female prophet or male prophet. They're gonna be coming into the ministry. That's the key thing. Now, you still have the permission aspect too, because even if you're in the context of the local church and your metron is growing, you're not really always going to be given the opportunity to administer the word of the Lord to everyone at every point in time. because they still have to give you permission in the context of, you know, personal works. So you may have a situation where you may have a service like where you're having like a School of the Holy Spirit, and in that School of the Holy Spirit you may have— you may be invited to come and prophesy over the congregation that's there. That's a completely different situation than if you were to do it like after a Sunday service or even during a service. So that's a key thing is you're not going to, even as a prophet, operating in your local church, you're not always going to have permission in the middle of a service to go up to the stage and prophesy, uh, or interrupt a sermon or interrupt a worship service. Like, that's not how God works. God's a God of order. There's always going to be a time and place reserved for the prophets to speak. More, more times or not, it's behind the scenes, behind the curtains, not during the middle of a Sunday service. Unless it's specifically set aside like a 1 Corinthians 14 service where you're actually there. Generally it's in a panel, you'll have 3 or 4 prophets, and the idea is to stir up the Spirit and welcome him into that atmosphere and just allow you as prophets among other prophets to speak over the congregation and kind of go into that. And so that's what I want to make sure you understand about the metron. The metron is really Uh, the area in which you can operate, it's really based upon your faith. And the key thing is, is you're not supposed to rush this process. You administer to yourself. You can, as you grow and God trusts you with it, you're going to minister to your family, and then you'll probably have friends and acquaintances. I'm not really sure. I've not really seen a lot of times where that applies in the workplace, to be honest with you. It's really more in your social circles. or in your community. And we talked about this last— in the last video, that remember, this prophecy is primarily focused to the church. It's not exclusive, but primarily focused to the church. And, and then as that grows and you're trusted and, and your word is found to be true, you're listening to the Lord. And now you can get— as the Holy Spirit trusts you, you can get confirmed in your local church. That can expand to other churches. And then that can move you into more of like a city level, a state, and then national and worldwide. And that's really the order in which the metron applies to the office of the prophet. Hope this helps with some people as you're growing with your journey. Again, don't rush it. The Holy Spirit will elevate you as it is time and you're able to handle the spiritual warfare and the responsibility that comes with it. It's not a trivial task when you start moving up in those higher levels. The weight is heavier, the words are heavier, what you say, how you interpret it, how you, um, how you actually carry it, and the tense in which you bring it can carry a lot of weight. And really, at that point, you really want to be more mature in this walk. Don't be surprised if this process honestly takes you many years even before that actually occurs. Like, you're not going to see a prophet that's new in the ministry move into these higher levels Regardless of their maturity in their walk with Christ, into those higher levels immediately. It's, it's something that has to be ingrained and grown, and in due time, in God's timing, which is always perfect, you'll be able to be elevated into those places. As I guess mentioned before, please like and subscribe to this video. Definitely ask some questions in the comments. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have and continue the conversation. God bless.
