Two speakers explore what the Bible says about dealing with difficult people. Proverbs warns that rebuking a scoffer brings hatred, while correcting a wise person earns love. Sometimes the loving choice is to walk away, like Jesus did and like the prodigal son's father.
Did you know the Bible says this about narcissists? Check it out.
Did you know the Bible tells you that if you've got someone in your life that's really difficult, maybe they're narcissistic, maybe they're combative, whatever it is, it says that this person will hate you if you continue to do this one thing. In the book of Proverbs, it says, reprove a scoffer and he will hate you. If you continually try to correct someone that's not willing to receive your correction, which you think is loving, they think it's hateful, they will hate you. Why? Because they're not ready. They're not ready to receive it. It says, reprove a wise man He will love you. So here's the deal. You should never continually heap something on someone, even if it's the scriptures, even if it's good. If they don't want it, that's not loving. Jesus actually walked away from people. The prodigal's father let him go.
