These 5 Bible Verses Made Me a Millionaire

John Humenik shares five Bible verses he credits with his path to becoming a millionaire, including passages on faith, tithing, and God's multiplication. He argues that spiritual wealth principles like the "law of faith" parallel the law of attraction, and that tithing a tenth unlocks divine multiplication.

In this video, I want to share with you the 5 Bible verses that made me a millionaire. You might be thinking, how could a Bible verse make you a millionaire? What's in the Bible that can help you build wealth? Isn't money the root of all evil? And aren't Christians supposed to just live within their means and then give the rest to the poor? Let's go ahead and hop into this Bible verse from James chapter 5, because what it does is it establishes the difference between spiritual wealth that comes from God and earthly wealth that comes from people. Because when James talks about this, he's talking about earthly wealth. James chapter 5:1-3, it says, now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that's coming to you. Your wealth has rotted and moths have eaten your clothes. A lot of people falsely believe that godly people shouldn't be rich. So what's the truth? Let's hop into it. When you start to understand that the law of attraction is actually a spiritual law called faith, you start to understand the difference Between what is earthly wealth and what is spiritual. I remember that I have made money, and then in time I would find ways to squander it. I would overspend, I'd drive myself into debt, and I would even operate from a place of compulsion rather than godly patience. I would make some money and then somehow lose it because it wasn't built on any foundation that was Christ-centered. It was like it was on quicksand. So let me be totally clear, the law of faith does work. These are biblical principles which we're going to hop into this video, and you can understand them because what has happened is the world has distorted and hijacked them to lead people away from Jesus Christ and to make money and all these other things their own gods. God gave us scripture, and God asks us to give him the glory in everything that we create while we're here on Earth because it's a blessing from him. And that's what's missing from all these earthly principles, including manifestation. God ultimately doesn't have to need us and doesn't need to work with us. But what you have to understand is, is that he partners with us, and you can have an amazing encounter through Jesus Christ every single time that happens. And I remember in my story, as part of my testimony, 4 years ago I received The second baptism of the Holy Spirit, and it opened doors that can never be shut. And that very first verse that started this entire journey to become a millionaire was the parable of the growing seed, which he gave me in that encounter, which comes from Mark chapter 4, verses 26 through 29. And Jesus said, this is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground night and day, whether he sleeps or even gets up. The seed sprouts and grows, though he doesn't know how. All by itself, the soil produces grain, the stalk, then the head, and the full kernel in the head. And as soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it because the harvest has come. I want to explain what this Bible verse means and how it applied to my life, because what it does is it's kind of a cornerstone verse that he gave to me when we first started the ministry. And among other things, God is the one who does the work. You have to be able to put your hand to the plow. Your job is to basically break open the land and then put the seed on the ground and cover it, and then God does the rest. This is the partnership aspect that God taught me, is, is that what we do is we take the few steps forward and then he takes the next 1,000 steps forward. That's the essence of what God does. He's the one that does the work. Remember when we talked about James 5? If you continue to pursue wealth in your own power, in your own intelligence, maybe through your family connections, maybe through your business connections, maybe through college, that wealth can ultimately become squandered because it is not built on the things that Jesus does. Every single thing Jesus does is eternal. It can never pass by. So when wealth is built upon the rock that is Jesus Christ, it's not quicksand anymore. And that was the lesson he was teaching me then to kickstart this entire journey for me, because what it did is it quickened all the things that I had been doing in the flesh and allowed me to operate from a spiritual principle is I do my part, my part, God does his part, and when he does his part, it's a permanent thing. It's amazing. Now let's hop into verse number 2, 'cause it's very important and it actually talks about and works against the fact that money is the root of all evil, because the reality is, is the love of money is the real root of all evil. So Matthew 6:33, this is one of the most powerful verses in all of scripture for seeking godly wealth. It talks about seek first the kingdom of God and all the things will be added unto you. And when you understand this, is seek God and his righteousness, seek God and his kingdom. What he's saying is, is that when you love money, and that comes from 1 Timothy 6:10, what it does is you're putting money in front of God. But when you know from a godly perspective that money becomes a tool, no different than any other thing, its example is how do you hammer a nail into a wood? You go get a hammer. You go get a sledgehammer. You get a nail gun. How do you screw something into a wall? You get a screwdriver. You get an electric screwdriver. So those things are tools. Money is no different. When you are wealthy and operating from a principle of wealth, you recognize that money is used not to pay bills, but rather money is used to generate wealth and opportunities so that you can move forward. And that's the key thing. God warns us against greed. God wants us to pursue him. We— he He wants us to love him. He wants us to follow his righteousness, to be the righteousness of Christ. And so even in Matthew, he says in 6:24, he talks about that no one can serve 2 masters. So when you place your faith and hope in money, it's always gonna fall short. 'Cause remember, what's eternal comes from God. What isn't eternal comes from everything else. So what happens is, is that when you recognize that there are people out there that chase money, that continue to pursue wealth without God, you're gonna see these people see them because they're all the people you see— the celebrities, the musicians, actresses, actors. You see them in business, you see them in sports, but they don't know God. They're part of the world. And when you understand that, that they're operating from the worldly principles like the law of attraction, which is really the law of faith, and when you start to understand who you are in Jesus Christ and that he's the one that makes you worthy He's the one that makes you a beloved son or daughter, that nothing you do outside of him will prosper. But when you do everything within him, that everything will prosper. Your foundation becomes everything. Now verse number three that worked for me, that really solidified my financial place, is having no fear. That comes from Luke twelve four through six. And I tell you, my friends, don't fear. Those who can kill the body, and after they have nothing more that they can do to you. But I want to warn you to whom you should fear. Here, fear him also. After he has killed, he has the authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Now, when you understand where this comes from, is God is not the God of fear. God is the God of love. And when you have perfect love, casts out all fear. Now, when you recognize that you understand that every single piece of self-doubt, self-loathing, laziness, compulsion— all those things, those come from the flesh. Those come from the devil. Those things are things going to try to lead you into sin. Those things are going to try to prevent you to— from stepping into your calling. And fear truly is one of the greatest things, along with distraction and probably addiction, that the devil can use to keep you from generating the wealth that God wants you to generate because you're fearful. Because when the moment you step into fear, that's when faith disappears. And whenever you step into faith, that's when fear starts to disappear. And it's the thing— it counteracts everything that God wants you to do. And he knows every inch, he knows every aspect of who you were created, why you're here. You're not created by accident. You're not a product of evolution. You're not a descendant of monkeys. These aren't true. These are all lies, because what it does is it steals your identity away from God and places you in the world. And that's the thing— God loves you, and he wants these beautiful things for you. Because remember, he's a God of eternity. He is an infinite God, which means every single thing that we see, he can do things at an infinite scale. And he wants to operate in partnership with you because that's what he wants for you. He doesn't want The worst. He wants the best. He wants overflow at all times. And when you start to operate in overflow, these worldly principles of money is evil and all that, the, that Christians should always give to the poor, give to the church, those things are present, but those happen out of overflow and not from a place of lack. Now this sets up verse number 4 for me, cuz this is so important because you have to understand is, is that in order for your wealth to grow, you have to give back a tenth of what you have back to God in order for him to multiply it. That's the part where God talks about this. Now, I'm not going to talk about all the Bible verses that talk about this, but I am going to hit the ones in the Old Testament and the New Testament because there are some people that are going to watch this video that believe tithing doesn't apply for the New Testament Christian. And the reality is that that could farther from the truth. It not only is tithing paramount, it's foundational in order for these things, all of these principles, to work. And so Leviticus 27:30 talks about this: a 10th of the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, is the Lord's and it's holy. Okay, so that's key. Even it talks about Proverbs 30:9 says, honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of your crop. Let's hop into the New Testament because here it is. There's a couple scriptures here, one in Luke and one in Matthew. It says, Matthew 23:23, woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin and have neglected the weightier matters of the law— justice and mercy and faithfulness. Those you ought to have done, which is talking about tithing, without neglecting the others. And we see this again, Malachi 3:10, the legendary verse on the tithing, which also is the only Bible verse that I can remember that God says Test me in this. He says, bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down a blessing until there's no more need. You may have doubts about tithing. You may be afraid that the church that you're donating to will squander the money. Are they just using the money to get wealthy? Are they— have bad intentions? I want to assure you that God said To me that giving to the church isn't about trusting the people at church. It's about trusting the Holy Spirit to steward the money once it's left my hand. Because when you understand is, is that when you give the money away to the church, it's not in the church leadership's hand, it's in the Holy Spirit's hand. So when you don't tithe to the church, it's not that you don't trust the church, it's just you don't trust God. Because ultimately you're just giving back the money That was already God's, and you're a steward of the 90%, and let God take back the other 10%. Because those first fruits, those things develop and attach the fear of the Lord because you don't want to disobey him. And what you're doing is, is you're— when you don't give back to, to the church, you're actually fearing man and what they're going to do versus what God will do. And you have to understand that you have to trust him. Let him heal your heart. so that you can understand that whenever you start to operate in these principles, he's going to keep his promise. Now, number 5 is really one of the most legendary verses in the entire Bible because God tells us to dominate in every arena that we're supposed to operate in. We are supposed to be the head and not the tail. We're above and not beneath. Every single thing is— we're the lender and not the borrower. All these principles lead us to this one from Joshua 1:3, and it says, every place you set the sole of your foot, will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised Moses. So this is the key thing when you recognize this, is that it attaches itself to Deuteronomy 1:8, what it says: See, I've given you the land that's set before you. Go and take possession. You have to understand your identity in Christ is rooted on the throne of Christ. You're seated in heavenly places. Every single blessing Jesus has in heaven belongs to you here on earth. You operate from an open heaven. When Jesus had— when he got baptized by the Holy Spirit, heaven opened up and the dove descended, but it never closed. That's the essence of who you are. God understands that money can answer a lot of the problems on this side of eternity. That even comes from Ecclesiastes 10:19. And you see this over and over again in scriptures. Jesus talked more about finances than any other topic. But what you do is the more money you have, the essence is you're glorifying God. You can actually break people out of cycles of financial hardship. You have the opportunity to break your church out of financial hardship. You go from basically surviving to being basically in a sense where you're content with your finances to thriving. And you have the ability to pay bills, you have the ability to support church functions, you have the ability To build businesses and to move forward. You don't have to cower back to the things that are happening in this world. You can afford to send your children to the best schools possible. You can afford to send them to college. You can afford to give them an inheritance that's so great that it gives— that it allows them to give it to their children, which would be your grandchildren and beyond. He wants— God wants you to recognize the authority he's given you. You have to take action. Because you have to walk in confidence to take possession of the land. You have to recognize that every area that you operate in, you dominate. So God created the heavens and the earth, and he gave the earth and everything in it to mankind. And what you see here is, is the principles that have operated in the Bible, that what we consider the heathens, the non-Christians, they have taken it and seized it. And every time a Christian raises themselves up, to try to take the land, to take the money, to take the businesses, to take the customers, or even the political side, the government side, and take actually seats in government. They fight violently. You see this occur across all spectrums because they recognize those are true seats of power on this earth. And the moment those are lost, they get displaced. That's why you have all these unbiblical principles about Christians are supposed to remain poor, that poverty is piety. These are the things that set Christians apart that move forward in power and authority. Because it is— think of it as just a lifetime war, and where Jesus is winning every single battle for you. But you have to do it on God's timing. You have to do it through God's love. You have to do it through God's patience. Because when you take that faith and you move it forward, and Jesus lays that foundation for you, it's unshakable. It can't be taken away. Debts get erased. You become the lender and not the borrower. These are the core principles that God wants to teach you today, and there are many others, and I'm sure God has been speaking to you in different ways. But walk these— this beautiful vision out that God has for you, because it's so important that when you see these things come into being in your life, that God continues to bless you. He wants you to steward these things in a way that sets you apart. So let me go ahead and say a prayer for you to open your eyes to see the things God has for you. So, Heavenly Father, I come boldly before the throne of grace by the blood of Jesus Christ. I pray for the person on the other side of this screen to give them a greater measure of intelligence. Blow into them the space and the capacity to see and understand things. Give them greater understanding. Give them greater knowledge. Give them greater wisdom to walk these things out. Give these things— give them a measure of discernment to allow them to move forward. Let them have a heart for you and fear you only as you move forward and the world starts to come against them and brings these lies to take away their identity, to take away who they are, to take away the things that you're stewarding for them and the things that they're stewarding for you, especially if it comes from family, friends, and even their church. Allow them to stand on the rock that is Jesus Christ Destroy every single thing that continues to come against them. Don't allow these things to come to pass. Father, blow up the bridges that need to be blown up so they don't walk across the ones that are incorrect. Allow every good idea to be tested to make sure it's a God idea so that you can move forward in the perfect will. Don't allow these things to distract them, to prevent them from happening, and allow them to be moving forward and have them pray into the very things that would prevent them from operating. If they have anything in their history, their generational, their bloodline, Father, expose it. Allow them to repent for it and allow them to move forward and allow the heavens above, the windows, to pour out a blessing that overtakes them, that overtakes their family, and allows them to move forward in abundance. But then allow their heart Father, to stay attuned to you so that as they continue to grow, they remember who they are, that they tithe through this process, that they send up additional offerings and continue to recognize that you are their source, that it doesn't matter how many zeros are in their bank account, it doesn't matter those things that are before them, it doesn't matter the possessions they collect, but is rather the relationship and the presence of Jesus Christ that they continue to seek you out, to align themselves, to surrender, become obedient and humble throughout this entire process. Father, I pray this beautiful blessing over them. Allow those windows to be poured out and to steward every single thing over every single season. And also, Father, give them a measure of patience to go through those seasons where they think they're valleys, where the devil is coming against them, so that you can finish your work That's in front of them so that it becomes an established kingdom that they can operate from. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. So thank you for watching this video. If you love video like content like this, please make sure you subscribe and partner with us on Patreon.
