Using an Abundant Mindset - Part 3 of 3

John Humenik argues that true abundance comes from intimate proximity to Jesus Christ through daily prayer and listening to God's voice. He contrasts the written Word with hearing God speak personally, and describes his own spiritual journey including two baptisms of the Holy Spirit to show how deeper closeness transformed his life.

Hi, my name is John Humenik. Welcome to the channel. I'm so excited you're here today. I've got a powerful video to talk about 3 concepts. We're gonna break it over 3 days. We're gonna focus on the key point of how your proximity to Jesus Christ is so key and to be able to move forward. So I'm excited that you're here, and this is part 3, the last of the series. The key part that I wanted to talk about today is, is that we got this from my book Abundant Mindset, which you can grab off my website, humenik.com, is the proximity to Jesus is super duper critical because Ultimately, this unlocks the one key truth that a lot of Christians miss in their journey: is is that proximity to Jesus Christ is the only thing that's necessary on this side of the kingdom. It's so key, and what we get into in this world is a very works-based mindset. We get into a servant-based mindset where we just constantly go, go, go. But Luke chapter ten verses forty-two in the ESV tells us otherwise. It says Jesus said, "But one thing is necessary: Mary has chosen the good." portion which will be not taken from her. So what we have here in this situation is to start to recognize something very, very key, is that Martha is clearly— if there was any way, if you understand the 5 Love Languages, Martha's love language clearly is, you know, acts of service. Here's a woman that's often doing some cool stuff. She knows she's got the Messiah in her house, and she wants to do something for him very, very special. So key to her because Here's the King of the Kings, and I want to serve him as he's serving us. But then he basically corrects her and says boldly, he goes, "Look, none of those things matter. Rather, I want you to be sitting at my feet and listening to my word because that's the thing that really matters." And that's what he says to Martha, basically rebuking her in a gentle, right, correct way, and then saying that her sister Mary has chosen the better thing. So when you're starting to operate from an abundant mindset and moving forward, we talked about this in the first module. Module that it's so key to recognize in order to operate in abundant mindset, you have to start thinking. The process doesn't just happen. You just— you have to be the catalyst to kickstart it by getting some level of revelation or something that basically says, hey, the Holy Spirit's been giving this to me the whole time. I need to just stop and listen. Then we talked about last time, which is if you don't know something, you could just go ask God how to get it. If you don't have wisdom, you can get it. You don't have knowledge, you can go get it. There's nothing that limits you on this side of the world other than your willingness to be patient and have God work through you and through others to have you to achieve some kind of common goal. So that mindset is critical. But the key thing is, is that why it's so important to recognize step 3. And really, when you start to understand step 3, is step 3 is really step 1. But step 3, you have to understand, is, is that's the permanent step. It's the step that requires you to operate from abundance, from overflow, from prosperity, from financial overflow in ways that are just unending. And it all starts very simply in your prayer closet. And a lot of Christians shun this time. And I will tell you that even in my walk— I got saved as a young Christian at 8 years old, I got baptized in the Holy Spirit at the age of 15— but then I walked in this world, and my testimony is on the YouTube channel, where I kind of lived this dual life for about 30 years. And then when I got to 45, I moved away from Pittsburgh, moved down to Jacksonville, and in Jacksonville got that second baptism where I really truly understood, hey, this is a real thing, and got infilled with the Holy Spirit again, but in a way that was transformative. Not just what I would consider just small revelation or small infillings, and those things are all real, but what we're talking about is something that was game-changing. You could point back to and say that was different. That was really key because it became the catalyst that transformed my entire life and allowed me to step out of this basically lifelong wilderness season into something moving forward. But what it did was it exposed this truth that I did not spend enough time with Jesus. But I'm not talking about a prayer closet. That, that's, that's the thing where a lot of people get confused when they talk about proximity to Jesus Christ. When you look at this scene, It's not Mary having the conversation with Jesus. It's not Mary praying to Jesus. It's Mary listening to Jesus. And this is the thing that I really want to impress upon you in this module that's so key for you to understand. When you go before Jesus Christ and you're standing there and you're giving a testimony of your life, you're going to be judged by the— your obedience to the word of God, and you're going to be judged by the obedience to the word of God. And what does that mean? Because I use the word word twice, but it actually has 2 different meanings. The key thing to recognize is there's the Logos Word of God and the Rhema Word of God. The Logos Word of God is the written Word of God. So when you get judged at the judgment seat of Christ, not the Great White Throne Judgment, because the Great White Throne Judgment is for the nonbelievers, at the judgment seat of Christ, Christ is going to judge you. And it's all about blessings at this point. So remember, there's no condemnation for those who are saved in Christ Jesus. It's Romans 8:1. So the key thing to understand, there is no condemnation. You may not get a lot of reward depending on how you walk your life out, but you are not going to be condemned. So remember, again, this is always a forward and up motion in the Kingdom of God. You have to be obedient to the Word of God on your life, which is the entire Bible, understanding the context of the Old Testament and the Mosaic Law that got basically deprecated, parts of it got deprecated into the New Testament, and how it applies for the future. Because when you understand that there was societal laws, moral laws, and then the actual law itself, Some of those things carry forward because that's what Jesus talked about. But a lot of the things around the sacrificial laws and a lot of the societal laws, they don't apply today because you don't see Christians walking around with long beards and tassels on their, their shirts, you know, all those different things. Because most of those things were specifically designed to prepare people for the Messiah, and they were actually really spiritual even though they were using physical connotation, such as mixing two, two cloths in a garment. Well, that really meant was don't intermix Israel with the surrounding nations. It really didn't have much to do with cloth, although there's potential some scientific things with frequencies that could debunk it. But that's not here nor there. But what we're here to talk about is, is that you need to be obedient to the Logos word of God. Super key. We get that. I don't think anyone would debate that. But the other key part that almost so many Christians that I know— I'm actually— many of them miss is the Rhema word of God, which is the spoken word. So In this situation, so this is why it's so key to have this mindset, is, is that this is the revelation you need that you need to carry for the rest of your life. This is the keystone moment. And if you have to, just again, play this video back because it's so important. This is the key part, is that you have to hear the voice of God. You have to recognize the voice of God. You have to journal the voice of God. And this is key. We myself have a ton of videos on this concept on my YouTube channel. There's a lot of people in the university to talk about it. But at the end of the day, it's about you sitting at the feet of Jesus. hearing from him what he wants for you in this life today, as well as how to walk it out. And if you can't be obedient and sit in his presence multiple times a day— key thing, multiple, not once, not once a week, multiple times a day— what will happen is, is that you will invariably lead yourself astray because you'll be basing the works that you have in your life on the, the written word of God Which may not be applicable to the season you're in. Because if you understand how diverse the Word of God is, is you can see, at least from a worldly perspective, some potential contradictions. But it has no contradictions because they were perspective-based and driven by the Holy Spirit. So it means different things, it means different contexts, and it has all these different applications at different seasons of life. And those only come through the Rhema Word of God, sitting in God's presence, Journaling his word, understanding, asking him questions, learning from him, sitting in his presence, growing, and then moving forward. That's the essence of an abundant mindset. When you have those three core principles—part one, part two, part three—from these modules, you will literally have every single thing you need to move forward in life. Now there will be refinements, and there's all kinds of different things that occur. But you have to understand is as a Christian walk that we are a part of a kingdom. We're part of a monarchy. That's the key thing. We're not in a democracy. We're no longer in a federal. The United States is not a democracy; it's a republic. When you understand how it's set up, your state is a democracy, but the country is a republic when you understand the hierarchy. But the kingdom of God is neither; it's a monarchy. It's a king. You have to speak the language. You have to operate under the king's rules. There is no election. There is no discussion. It is you and the king, a king's son or a king's daughter. But at the end of the day, you're stewarding. His kingdom forward. You're a reflection of His grace. You're a reflection of His Son Jesus Christ. And the only way you can stay on that perfect will of God over an entire lifetime is to hear from Him directly. That's the only way. And you can't do it with the Bible alone. It's impossible. I tried. I can tell you, I have read the Bible cover to cover dozens of times in dozens of translations, looked at it from the spiritual perspective, the symbolic perspective, the apocalyptic and even from the physical, tied in numerology and humanetics and all the different things that come with it, like just a deep scholar. And yet I was still wandering in my own flesh, defeated. I didn't understand the true concept of spiritual warfare, didn't understand how to command angels and how that worked, and understanding the difference between Psalm 103:20 and what happened in the Garden of Gethsemane and how they were actually linked. These things come From sitting in the presence of God, you understand how salvation really works. You understand how revelation is the revelation of Jesus Christ, not the revelation of the Antichrist. It's all about those things that the entire Bible, when you unpack it, all points to Jesus all the time. It's unbelievable. He is everywhere, and that's the essence. I got that out of my time with God. It's not done in the. It's not done in church. It's not done in your study time. It's not done in prayer. It's done. Listening to the Father, listening to the Christ, listening to the Holy Spirit—that small, gentle voice guiding you every single day, giving you specific instructions on how you should be living your life, the things you should be receiving, and moving forward in victory. And that's the key thing. That's why we move from victory to victory, from faith to faith, because we can sit with our Father, who is truly unlimited in everything he has: finances, prosperity, scope, influence, capability, miracles. The universe. So everything in this universe is beholden to him. So therefore, everything that happens, it happens because he allows it or he empowers it. And he wants to empower you today. So that's the key thing is take those things into place. You know, we talked about part 1, switching your mindset to abundance. Just start thinking abundantly. Start looking at what successful people do. Look at what the successful coaches do. Look at what Evangelist Talon has done and truly respect the things that he accomplished because he's a man of God. He's an incredible man of God. Look at the things that he does. Look at how he carries himself, how the coaches carry themselves, how they're consistent over a period of time. Then look at and then start to emulate them. Start to make those shifts. Ask God, really ask God to be smarter. There's no shame in it because the only reason you're not smarter is because you haven't asked him. Have you asked him to help you pay your bills? Have you asked him to help you with your family? Have you been praying those prayers that no one in your family will not make it to heaven? Like, these are prayers that you are allowed as a son or daughter. in the kingdom of God to pray. And then start sitting with Jesus. Sit with him, because every time you're in his proximity, he'll transform your life. Listen to him, even if you can't hear him the way you think you can. It says in the Bible, my sheep know my voice, they hear me and they follow me. It says it very clearly. And if you can't hear God, it also says in the Bible, in John 8:43, it says because you don't want to. So I want to encourage you today, want to hear from God, because he'll start speaking to you. He'll start speaking to you in symbols. He'll start speaking to you through people. He'll start highlighting Bible Verses, he'll start talking to you. Trust me, he talks all the time. He does not know how to stop talking. It's perfectly fine. It's all good. He's that's the essence of who he is. But you have to recognize that he's an infinite God, which means he talks to you in infinite ways. Even though you're a finite being and there's only finite ways for you to recognize it, he doesn't always talk to the Christians like I'm talking to you today. He talks through the Holy Spirit. Is the voice that small, still voice inside of you? He talks about he'll talk through impressions and visions, and he'll. He'll even emotions. You'll even have emotions. You're like, I'm not angry, but why am I angry today? Well, it's probably because the person next to you is angry and he wants you to pray for them. These are the things when you start to walk out this life and you get these impressions, these visions, these emotions, these thoughts. Why all of a sudden am I thinking about this? Why all of a sudden am I feeling like this? Why do I have a pain in my leg? And next thing you know, a person walks past, has that same pain. Like these are the things that he's talked. He interacts with you in these different and exciting ways. And when you sit with Jesus. Enough, you'll start to recognize. Wow, these are things my life is vibrant, it's alive, and allows me to walk out in victory. And what'll happen is is that you'll continue to do the things that God wants you to do. And then when you do get to the judgment seat of Christ, and he tests you on the Logos word of God and the Rhema word of God, you can say, Father, I did my best given the constructs that I that I heard that I heard your voice, and I stewarded the things forward. And all we all want to hear is those great words: Good and faithful servant. Well done, come into your final rest. And that's what we want to hear. And that's what I encourage you today to move forward and to know that if you can do those things consistently in your life, not only will you never be defeated, but you will live out a life of rest, a life of prosperity, of overflow and joy. And it will just be incredible. And you'll be a beacon for everyone around you. Because what will happen is, remember, the things that God wants to do as Christians, we forget this. God wants to bless you first so powerfully that you then overflow. But he knows when he does that, the world will become jealous, and then they'll recognize, oh, that person's a Christian. Wow, walk— look at how they walk through life with humility, surrender, and obedience. So key: humility, surrender, and obedience, and victory. And that will then push them to Christ. There's nothing more powerful than a living testimony. And that's what you'll become today if you take on these 3 key principles and implement them in your life. God bless everyone.
