Can you imagine the hopelessness that must have set in when a prophet of God comes to you and tells you you are going to die, tells you you're not going to recover? How do you respond? I'll tell you how Hezekiah responded. He turned his face to a wall. That, that whole, that whole thing about turning your face to a wall is essentially like acknowledging, I'm turning toward a dead end. I have nowhere else to go. Would you please have mercy on me, God? He filled that atmosphere with prayer. God spoke to Isaiah, said, go back in there and tell Hezekiah, I'm gonna add 15 years to your life. You're not going to die of this sickness. And I felt like God wanted me to tell somebody, prayer will change the diagnosis. Prayer can change the outcome. Humility, tears, and prayer can even change the mind of God.
