What God told me about May - Prophecy

John Humenik shares a prophecy for May called "Joy in the Sacrifice," centered on Hebrews 12:1-2. He says believers should embrace difficult circumstances with joy, finding strength in worship, prayer, and Scripture study, because Christ endured the cross for the joy of redeeming humanity.

If you have friends that they would love to see this video, please share it with them 'cause it is going to truly bless them. If you are new to prophecy, let me go ahead and cover a key couple of topics that are important as a part of your journey. Prophecy is a timeless word from God. So you must pray about the word that you're about to receive to make sure it's the very thing that you should understand and comprehend and ultimately walk out in this season, because it could potentially be for something in the future. So make sure you're always being Spirit-led in your walk with Christ, because the words that are released are powerful and can help you through very troublesome times, because that's what prophecy does. It is an elevator for you. It's like an escalator that moves you moves you forward and up and constantly breaks off the problems and the issues that are burdening you today to allow you to go to another level in your life with your walk with Jesus Christ. So we're going to hop right into it. So the word of the Lord for May is to talk about— that is called the joy in the sacrifice. Now, the word of the Lord came to me a few weeks ago in my prayer time, and I was trying to understand the nuance of what he was trying to accomplish. So we're going to go ahead and unpack it, talk about some Bible scriptures and how it means and how you can Walk it out today as a part of your Christian walk, but also the greater understanding of what it means, the joy in the sacrifice. Because these are the things that God wants you to experience in order for you to be able to have an abundant life in Jesus Christ, to dominate life through him in every aspect that you have. Because there is aspects that are going to come up in your life if you're walking in the way of the Spirit that are going to be uncomfortable, that are going to be inconvenient. But God wants you to have joy in that sacrifice so that you have the strength to power you through all the things that are going on. So we're going to hop into Hebrews 12. We're going to cover the verses 1 through 2 and talk about the very background of this prophecy and how it applies to you for the month of May. It says, therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every single weight and sin that clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that has been set before us. Verse two says, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of throne of God. Now this is a little bit of a heavy couple scriptures, and Hebrews, like Romans, is a heavyweight book in the New Testament. And so let's go ahead and unpack with this prophecy through the word of God as applies for May in your life today, so that you can walk out life in victory. 'Cause it's important. When you are walking in the perfect will of God, whether you believe it or not, whether that's the permissible will or perfect will, there are going to be aspects in which that journey is going to be difficult. It's going to be hard. It's gonna weigh on you. You're gonna wanna do things that are gonna be contrary to the will of God because the flesh will pull you aside. This is a challenging thing. And the Lord is saying for May that he wants you to have joy in the sacrifice. Think about Christ's position. Here he is, he comes down from heaven, empties himself to the point of becoming nothing so that he can put on the robe of flesh and walk out this life sinless, only to then die on the cross, be ridiculed, and then go to the grave, and then come back again, and then preach for another 40 days. Yet it says in verse 2 that he had the joy that was set before him. What does that mean, and how does that apply to you in your walk with Christ? This is so important because what God is saying in the context of this whole thing is, is that, look, you are walking out a life that has a cloud of witnesses. Now, what we don't understand and truly under— you know, grasp is, is what does that truly mean? Is it just a group of people that have gone on to heaven? Is it the angelic hosts? Are they watching over us? Are they participating in this? This can get into some of the aspects of the doctrine of the Catholics. What does that mean? How does that apply? I'm not gonna go into those details, but what it does say is, is that you are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. So what it means is, is there are people there probably cheering you on, probably even in some ways that can be a part of this process if they could be. Again, I'm not saying that they are, but what they're saying is, is that know that there are people who are probably rooting you on. The Father is rooting you on. We know that. We know Jesus is doing that, and we know the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is doing that because they're interceding for us all the time. That's what it is, is that he's the great helper. He's a witness. Christ is a witness. And so what that means is that they're testifying before the Father. We know the Holy Spirit and Jesus are testifying before the Father that be able to allow you to continue to move forward in that realm of grace, even through, through your sin and through your shortcoming and through the mistakes that you have, that God is rooting you on. That's the thing about what God does is he wants you to be successful. He wants you to be a person he wants you to be. He knows you can do it. He's seen your future. He knows your identity. He knows who he put, what he put inside you, who you are. He's the one of all the people in the entire universe that knows you. It's him. And so he is rooting you on. He is pushing you forward. He is guiding you. But what he says is to cling closely to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and run this race with endurance, because that's the thing is life Life is a life that is meant to be like a marathon. It's done day in and day out. It's renewing your mind. It's pushing you forward. And then what you do is you compare yourself to Christ and you look to him and say, okay, where am I falling short compared to where Christ did? Because he was the perfecter of our faith. He was the one that went before for the joy that was set before him. That even to the point that the joy of the cross, which is an incredible, almost borderline crazy statement to say, but the joy of the cross that was set before him, that he He then despised the shame. He despised the ridicule, that he endured the beating, the lashes, the spit, all the things, the crown of thorns, the spear in his side. He endured all of that for the joy that was set before him. That joy, many people say, well, was that the resurrection? Was that him going and ascending to heaven, sitting at the right hand of God? The joy of the Lord is that he knew that through one sacrifice that he would allow billions of sons and daughters to be reconciled to the Father with one person's sacrificial gift. That's what that joy was. He knew that he's going to be highly exalted, to have the name above all names, that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. That's what it is. That's the joy that he looked at. That's what he saw. He saw you. He saw you struggling in your shame, dealing with your addiction, dealing with your infirmity and your pain and your disease. And he knew he Took those lashes on his body for your healing. By his stripes you are healed. This is what Jesus is saying, that in the sacrifice that you walk out your life for his kingdom, that there is joy in the sacrifice, that in this moment and in this time you are able to walk out in victory the things that he has set before you, because you can endure your version of the cross, you can endure your version of the shame, you can endure your version of the ridicule, because he has overcome the world. And it says in the Bible that if God is for you, who can be against you? It doesn't matter if a massive army is coming to destroy you like it did with Elisha and his servant. It didn't matter because guess what? God has the power to crush the armies before you, to send them away, to get them to leave, and to be able to understand that, look, this battle is not worth fighting for. Even in those moments, you can be victorious. In the moments of the greatest despair of your life, you can find joy in that sacrifice because the fullness of joy is in the presence of the Lord. And that if you are on your knees praying, if you are in your quiet place journaling the word of God, if you are in his word, you're studying, walking out this righteous life and being the person that God is calling you to be, that the joy of the Lord is your strength. The fullness of joy can be a part of your life every single day because joy is eternal. It's not something that comes and goes. like happiness. It can become a part of you. And guess what happens? That is then what God is saying is that you can have joy in the sacrifice so that as you are sacrificially living your life for the kingdom of God, when you are surrendering the things that God wants you to surrender on a day-to-day basis, putting it on that altar and burning it up, your successes, your failures, your even good deeds for the church where God's like, now it's time for a season of change. It's time to give up those good works to take on new and greater works. God is saying, that even though it's not going to be comfortable, even though you may have to pick up and leave and go into another city, maybe take on that new job, maybe end that relationship that you had that you know has been fruitless, God is saying that there can be joy in that sacrifice. And when you have joy in that sacrifice, it allows you to move forward and up in an abundant and powerful way because God is there cheering you on. You've got a cloud of witnesses in heaven cheering you on. Pushing you forward. However, again, however that may be and however scripturally that may be applied, what we know is that God is for you. He loves you. He cares for you. He wants the best for you. But he knows in order for you to be the best, you have to come out of your comfort. You have to come out of your convenience. Even in the aspect of the seasons you are today, no matter how turbulent and faith-filled they are, he is going to call you to a higher place. He's going to push you further. Think about the story of the Israelites as they came out of Egypt. Look at their story. Now we know that they were wrecked with sin for 40 years. It was an 11-day journey that only was supposed to be an 11-day journey that took 40 years. And so think about it. But yet through that journey, God was preparing them for the war that was ahead. He was preparing them that even though that the fights that they were dealing with in the wilderness was only then preparation for the work ahead. That's what God's doing for you. You have all the strength. The knowledge and finances for the things that you need to do in this season and today. But God knows that for tomorrow and in the future, you're going to have to level up in some aspect of your life, if not all aspects of your life, in order to reach the things that you have to do. So that sacrifice to step forward has to be done in joy. So you might be asking, well, how does that happen? How do you then operate in joy through the sacrifice when you're giving up your life for the sake of the kingdom of God? How does that happen? Well, it starts with worship. It starts with praise. It starts with thanksgiving. It knows that the Father of Lights who sits on the highest throne on the mountain of God, surrounded by the cherubim and seraphim who are singing holy, holy, holy all the time, it is him that the power and the grace and the capability comes from. He is the one that strengthens you. He is the one that blesses you. He is the one that brings people into your He's the one that takes people out of your life. He's the one that brings finances. The power for you to generate wealth comes from him. So at the essence, you worship him, you thank him, you praise him, you dance in the rain, you dance in the sun, you dance in the storm. When you do that, what happens is the earth has to birth forth its harvest for you. That's scripture. That's in Psalms. When you know that that's how it works, that even in the storm, The tumult, that even when Jesus was walking on the sea and it was just raging, the waves were probably hitting him. He just kept going into the point where he was actually going to walk past his disciples to the other side. That's how focused Jesus was because he had the joy of the Lord. He spent the night on the mountaintop praising, glorifying, and praising, uh, praying to his Father, strengthening his mortal body, which became immortal after the resurrection. Because he knew what was happening was going to be an amazing moment. So that joy for that flesh that should have died but didn't, because he is un— just the fact that he is eternity itself. He is eternity itself. That Jesus Christ is the very essence of life. And so therefore, he knew that all the things that would eventually come to pass would then be resurrected. To eternity through him, for him. He holds all of this together. That's the joy of the Lord. That's the joy in the sacrifice, because you know that even through the storm, he's victorious. Even through your infirmity, your disease, the healing you've been seeking, he's victorious. You know that by his stripes you are healed, that it's impossible for you and your family to not have food on the table. It's impossible for them to get sick. during flu season or COVID season. It's impossible for people to be able to hold you back from the destiny that you have because God is for you. And so no one can stop you from moving forward the kingdom of God. And so even to the point when Jesus was talking to Peter and said that even the gates of hell will not be able to stop the onslaught of the kingdom of God coming to rescue the people that are behind these chained doors. And that's what the essence of that Scripture means is that even the, the walls, the gates, the fortifications, the chains, the— all the, all the armaments that hell would put up against the kingdom of God, it's hopeless. It's hopeless for the kingdom of darkness because the kingdom of light, the kingdom of God, is already victorious in all of eternity. All you have to do is walk it out. That's the joy in the sacrifice. You know you will always be victorious. If you haven't won that battle, you know it's not done. You know that you're the lender and not the borrower. You are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. These are the things that are spoken over you in scripture so that you can take the joy in the darkest, difficult, challenging situations that you may be going through. All these things that you could be dealing with, all the things you could be wrestling with in this month of May, God is saying take that joy, bring it forth through praise and worship, through thanksgiving, Through reading the word, living a righteous life, knowing and knowing just as Jesus did. He knew that he was going to put— be put through the most brutal execution on the planet. He knew the crown of thorns were coming. He knew they were going to take his precious clothes and sell them. He knew that his friends were going to abandon him on the cross in the moment that he wanted to be with them at the most. They would not be there. He knew all of those things. Yet for the joy that was set before him before the cross, he endured it. He despised the shame. He just moved forward. And now he's seated at the right hand in the throne of God. And that's the essence of what it is, because you are a co-heir with Christ. Your destination isn't just heaven. It is the throne room of heaven seated in Christ. You will be a co-heir with Christ in eternity. And in fact, you are a co-heir today. Walking out his kingdom as his ambassador here on earth with the power, with the might, and the support of heaven's armies behind you. That's who you are today. You may not feel like it, you may not be able to assume and take that on, but that is who you are. And that's what God is saying to you for this month of May, that for the joy set before you, endure the sacrifice, knowing that the things that he has put in for you is to develop the character, to set the stage, to be the living example so that others can follow you to Christ. And that's what Paul said, follow me as I follow Christ. And that's what he wants you to do. He wants you to be the beacon in the storm. He wants you to be the voice crying out in the wilderness that makes straight the paths of the Lord. That's what it is. We're all called to do this. This is the Great Commission. It's a part of our walk. but be the Bible that may be the only Bible anyone ever reads. And be a peculiar people that stand out, that allow to be set apart for a holy work, so that you can move forward in victory knowing that even though that you may be dealing with a sacrifice, you may be dealing with a storm, you may be dealing with the problem of a lifetime, know that God gets the last say. And because he has the last say, You get the victory. I hope you really enjoy content like this.
