What If Silver Was As Common As Stone?

John Humenik argues that Christian financial overflow is biblical and essential for the church's mission. He distinguishes this from prosperity gospel, citing Solomon's wealth and passages like Malachi 3:10, and defends ministers like Kenneth Copeland whose resources fund missions and crusades.

Hi, my name is John Humenik. Welcome back to the channel. I'm so excited you're here today. If you are new to this channel, please subscribe and click on the notification bell because we are putting out amazing content on kingdom business and kingdom finances, and this one is no different. So today's topic is about Christian financial overflow, the meaning of it, and understanding the depth that goes with stewarding kingdom finances for kingdom victory. Now, if you're new to financial aspects, specifically prosperity in the gospel, I want to make sure that you understand that this is not a prosperity gospel message. The key part is to understand that there is a difference between a prosperity gospel and a prosperity message, because what happens is, is a lot of Christians tie prosperity to evil. They think money is the root of all evil when it's actually the love of money is the root of all evil. Many people think money is a tool, and that's not correct because money is actually a seed. I want to make sure we tease out the difference from prosperity and prosperity attached to the gospel message, because there is very differences when it talks about, you know, people donating to get miracles or donating to get healing or donating to get blessings. Those things are not biblical, but prosperity is because it explicitly talks about this throughout the New Testament because Christ talked about finances more than he talked about anything else, including heaven and hell. And if it's that important for Christ to talk about finances more than actually salvation, you should be paying attention and understand how it is to have a complete victory in your financial area and actually have overflow. Because here is the essence of what happens is where a lot of people get caught up. And truly, we want to break some mindsets here. And if you're one of those people, go ahead, let's go ahead and get ready for some really interesting facts because it'll help set you totally free. Is that there are a lot of people in this world, especially pastors, that think that being poor and broke and that money doesn't matter. And in fact, that's ultimately a poverty mindset. It's actually a lie that the devil has told you that you now believe. And what it's doing is it's ruining the lives of people around you, especially if you're a leader. If you are a business owner and you have this mentality, your business will be broke in less than a year. When you're a pastor, you're not a CEO of the church. Rather, you're a steward and a shepherd of people. But those people need to understand financial principles in order to be successful in their lives. Because the moment you decide to attach yourself to a worldly principle, such as pastors aren't supposed to be paid well, or that pastors don't need to have nice things, you are literally becoming the example that the devil wants you to do as a part of the walk that you have. Because pastors that overflow with finances, business people that overflow with finances, Christians that overflow with finances are some of the most dangerous people to the kingdom of darkness. Think about it from Take it from a wartime perspective. So let's go ahead and use a secular example and explain something that will make total sense to you. So let's think of this from a wartime perspective. So let's say you've got 2 countries currently at war, and let's say, for example, they're evenly matched, which in the case of the kingdom of heaven and kingdom of hell, they're not. But let's just say from an earthly perspective, you've got 2 countries or 2 states at war, and they're evenly matched. They've got similar militaries, maybe similar amounts of equipment and ammunition. Now, Now, the difference being, let's say one of those countries has a bigger economy, has more money, or has the capacity to make more money. Do you think the country that has less income is going to win? There's no chance. In fact, even when you have a bigger military, but then you're challenging a state or a country that has more money, they have the capability to ultimately outproduce you and therefore win the war, even when you think that they might have the upper hand initially. And this actually applied with World War II, when you look at Germany and Japan and Italy as a part of the Axis powers, what ended up happening is, is they faced economies that ultimately destroyed them in the United States and the Soviet Union. In fact, I remember reading in the history books that Hitler knew the war was over whenever they were destroying American tanks on the battlefield and America was building them faster than he can destroy them. That's what we're talking about. This is the key thing to understand in the concept in a worldly how Christians have to operate in kingdom principles to have complete financial victory and overflow in their life. Because the moment a Christian— it doesn't matter if you're a pastor, it doesn't matter if you're a business owner, or if you're just a steward of your family— the moment you relinquish the capability to increase your wealth and to grow in the kingdom of God, you are literally giving ground to the wicked to take what belongs to you. Because the thing about it is, is this is the thing that a lot of people talk about and but miss. Is that if you're not seizing lands and territory for God, business and market share, or even just income in general, the enemy is taking it instead because there's no one else out there that's seizing it. There isn't a third party. There isn't another group of people that are out there. It's just the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. So think about it from that perspective, even in its purest form, that even at the— when you think about it from a biblical perspective, this is why Jesus talked about this so much, that if you are not stewarding the things you are entrusted to steward, the enemy is going to take it instead. And we know that wealth in the wicked's hand leads to destruction, but wealth in the kingdom hands leads to wisdom and explosive growth for the people of God. And that's at the essence, the core of what we're talking about here. Because what happens is, is people really get caught from a mindset that they can't have complete financial victory and overflow because money is evil. And that, that we're not supposed to steward it forward and we're not supposed to do things correctly, but rather the kingdom of God and the church, which is the body of Christ, and as well as the actual physical buildings, all of that is supposed to rule. This is our realm. We're the sons and daughters of the king, and the king owns everything. That's what God says. Heaven is his throne and earth is his footstool. The cattle on a thousand hills belong to God. The silver and gold is mine. This is all scripture. And so my people might say, well, you're twisting scripture. to be able to preach a prosperity gospel. No, I have no— prosperity gospel attaches financial things to an aspect that comes back to them. Rather, when you talk about it from prosperity, prosperity is about to receive these things in order for you to pour out more. And that's what we're here to talk about. Christian financial overflow is key in the kingdom of God because as stewards of his finances, 'cause it's not our money anyway, 'cause we can't take any of it, the only thing we can take to heaven is souls, is we are here to steward His finances in order to be able to steward more souls into the kingdom of God. I had this recent conversation with a pastor online, and he was talking about how he likes living in a small house, that even if he had a congregation in 6 figures, he said that he would not change his lifestyle or anything else. And he's in complete and total bondage because the thing about it is, is that if you're stewarding a 6 Figure congregation, that pastor should be making $10 million a year. Now you might say that's crazy, he should be donating that to the poor. But is that true? When you read the scriptures and you understand the concepts of the rich man, when he talked to Jesus, Jesus said go sell your belongings because— he didn't say that because he needed the belongings to be sold to the poor or even to donate the money. He did it because he loved his finances. more than he loved Jesus Christ. That's why he had to break that bondage in his life to move forward. Then you can look at Acts 2 and Acts 3 and 4 and 5 when they talk about— especially when they talk about Ananias and Sapphira, where they said people were selling their stuff and laying it at the feet of the apostles. But they didn't say they were selling everything that they had because people still needed a place to live. What they were doing— and this is the key thing that we miss in today— is that they were operating in overflow and giving from that overflow. And so when you recognize that if you're operating in overflow, you have the opportunity to move the kingdom of God forward in power and in force. And the moment you choose not to do that by, by assuming that these things are evil, that Christians and leaders and ministries should not be thriving financially, what you're doing is you're literally undercutting the very thing that moves the kingdom of God forward, and you're literally playing into the devil's hands. It's no different Then what the devil does, what he did with when he took the Bible, the Ten Commandments out of church— I'm sorry, out of schools— and he, what he did is he pulled out the word of God is the thing that people need to stand upon. And then when he removed it from the education system and removed it, did this, you know, this fake law which is called separation of church and state. When you look at all of the laws that are there, this is a precedent that was established but not a law. So it was an interpretation, if I remember correctly, from a Supreme Court justice. I think it originally started with Thomas Jefferson. And what it did was, is it positioned that the government can't impose itself on religious, you know, organizations. But what it did was, is it fractured the way that things were supposed to operate, because historically religious organizations were corrupted and then corrupted a corrupted government. And so what they were trying to do was, is to kind of separate things to keep things independent. But what it did is it put a wedge in the way our economy and our structure of our society in place so that the church could not influence government in the way of biblical ways. And so what happened was, is that while the founding fathers were— vast majority of them were Christians, people, the signatures of the, of the actual Declaration of Independence were all so many. I think it was, they said like almost all of them were actually born-again believers, regardless of their affiliation with religions, because there's a lot of there with the, the Masons and such. There, at the end of the day, that God established Christian leaders to be in positions of power and authority. Christian leaders can't stay in positions of power and authority if there is no financial overflow to support the work that's going ahead, and the church is no different. And so when you start to understand these core concepts— because I'm trying to do is lay the foundation for people to understand, to break the mindsets that are in place— anything that would go against what I said, you can go ahead and research in the Bible, because you can go ahead and pause this video anytime and go read all the different things. But when you start to understand the biblical principles of how finances are supposed to be worked is, is that you're supposed to overflow yourself in order for that to then be poured into the kingdom of God to be able to go out and save souls. That's what prosperity is all about in the kingdom of God. It's about soul saving. It's about bringing people to Christ. But if you can't afford a crusade in your town, then how can you go ahead and bring souls to God? Do you believe that in scripture— this is key because this is what it says in scripture. Paul writes this, that no one will know about the gospel of Christ unless someone comes and tells them. How are they going to learn if it's not told to them? If they don't see a Bible, why do you think there are people smuggling Bibles into these countries that ban them illegally? Just literally putting them on their backs in sacks and carrying them across borders illegally against what those countries are saying to be able to bring the word of God to the people that are there. Why do you think that these countries ban these YouTube channels and these other things so that they can't coerce the people into the kingdom of God? You see this; they're saying well, they're manipulating the people. They're trying to put a doctrine. Doctrine in there. These are all demonic states and rules and structures trying to keep the God from— the kingdom of God from advancing. And so if the kingdom of God, which at the core is the church, the people that are involved, are broke, then what happens is, is that there's no advancement. This is why you don't see crusades in your town happening every single month. That's why you don't see revival breaking out. That's why you don't see miraculous healings and demons being exorcised. When you start to understand that The comfort and westernized culture of Christianity has put it in a place where it's neutered itself so that the devil can continue to move forward. The thing about financial overflow as a Christian is very key, is that it's all about the kingdom of God. It's all about the structures and the systems that are in place in order to move things forward. And in order to do that, finances are critical as a part of this walk. And if you don't truly understand it or grasp it or believe it, just take that from a business perspective. Perspective. Take it from the perspective of an organization that may have, let's say, 1,000 employees. Maybe they make $50 million a year. And let's say this organization all of a sudden says, we don't really care about money anymore, we're just going to go ahead and just skirt and just work on, you know, we'll, we'll take— we won't advertise anymore, but we will just take business as we come. Ultimately, that organization will die completely unless they're an incredible organization servicing their customers and can farm their existing clientele base, they will die. And even in fact, even in that instance, they won't thrive to the level that God wants them to, and they'll just plateau. And so what you start to see is that that's the same thing that's happening to the church. The church is looked upon as a donation mechanism in order to feed the poor. They look at the church as a mechanism to reach out to the lost places, but only to do that in, in part and in spades, so that any, any financial overflow that are in these areas is considered excess and evil. But the reality The reality is that's just a bias towards the church. So why is it that it's okay for a celebrity or a business executive to be able to fly a private jet, yet when a minister does that so they can spend time with their family, that's considered evil or it's excess? They should have taken that money, that extra money that they would have spent on a charter, and then donated it to the poor. Well, why isn't the executive, the business executive, or the celebrity donating it to the poor? Why? Why is it the church has this, this style and this view? Because it comes from the enemy. This is the key thing. This is the mindset that Christian financial overflow is all rooted in. And when you understand this one key concept, it sets everything free. It'll totally set your mind and everything that you're doing free, because anything that talks negative about the church more than likely is rooted in a word that came from the devil. More than likely. And so there is some Biblical Christian correction that does go on. That's— that is biblical and happens, but that is really more aligned towards sin and heart posture and being obedient to the call of God on our life. It's not about necessarily directly towards finances. Now, financial stewardship is very key, and to be able to do the things God wants you to do as a part of your walk is key. So there needs to be proper management, financial accounting, all those things. I'm not necessarily talking about that, but what I'm really talking about is the things that continue to hold people back. The mindsets that just hold them hostage, that if I give my money to church, I can't trust them, or that the pastor has to be broke all the time, or that churches should always struggle and have to have fundraising campaigns to pay for their leaky roof. These are the mindsets that cripple the church, that cripple the opportunity to overflow. When you see the most successful churches in this country, they are criticized heavily for being prosperity gospel preachers. They're criticized heavily for the things that they do. You look at Kenneth Copeland, he's a perfect example of this. You look at his church and his ministry, and you look at them and they criticize him so heavily because of his private jets. Yet they don't understand that he has donated so many private jets to people to be able to support their ministries. They forget that he was the key financier of all of the African crusades for decades. All of those crusades that happened in Africa were paid for completely by him. And they We forget the fact that he was actually a businessman person who founded oil and then generated revenue from that and then poured that into his ministry and then taught people the way God taught him and how to be able to steward finances. Another one is Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, another perfect example, a man of God. When you see the number of people that has been saved under his ministry, I think the last check was like 55 million people. We're talking about a person that at the end of his life will be spoken of on the same level as evangelist Billy Graham. He has raised up so many ministers, saved so many people, and he came from South Africa. He was from Africa and had a ministry here in the United States and established it. And then people criticize him because of his jet and his driving and the races that all the things he does. But he's a successful business person as he is a successful minister. His success overflows in everything that he does, and the ministries and the people that are associated with are thriving. The businesses are thriving. The people, the millionaires and ultimately billionaires that are underneath them, are moving the kingdom of God forward in ways that other churches aren't doing that. So when you start to see these mighty men of God doing things at this scale, and then you criticize them because the overflow is there, you're actually criticizing the blessings that God has given them. You're not criticizing them; you're criticizing God. That's the thing that you need to understand: Christian financial overflow comes through a place of. Obedience and a right mindset to receive the things that God has. Because if you don't have your mindset set correctly, all the things I talked about will sound evil. They'll sound sinful. You'll sound— this sound like a false teacher, a false prophet. That's what it'll sound to you because you don't have the foundation that's rooted in scripture. Because these are the things that Jesus wants to have in place in order to be victorious. Think about it from Christ's perspective. He aligned the scriptures in perfect ways and explained them in understanding that until recently Many people didn't get. You have to think about it from the perspective that Jesus was so wealthy, so wealthy that he had enough money for all his ministry, and he had enough money that even Judas stole, and they didn't—they didn't lack. He was so wealthy that they looked at his clothing, and that the Romans didn't want to divide it, and they cast lots for it because it was so nice. This is the essence of him. He needed his treasurer to go everywhere, everywhere with him because he had so much income that women gave from their own. And their own treasure stores as a part of the— because they were well-to-do women— that they donated to his ministry to support it. This is the overflow Jesus operated in. There was no lack. Wherever the disciples needed to go, they either had the money as a part of their trip or they were blessed along the way. They always had overflow everywhere they went. And so this is the key thing as Christians: go back and study the scriptures, then know the difference between prosperity and the prosperity gospel, because prosperity is all about receiving the money to be able to overflow and to pour it back into the kingdom of God. You can't be a success in the spaces and realms God wants you to operate if you're broke or if you're only making a couple hundred thousand dollars a year. That's just not going to work. It won't even move anything forward. In fact, when you look at churches' bills, that there's that— even a couple hundred thousand dollars barely pays the bills on buildings nowadays, much less the building itself. And so think about that. Just the utilities can cost that much, and the internet, and to be able to run the production, to be able to just have a church service, could be hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. In order to move the church forward in a prosperity mindset, it has to start with a Christian's financial overflow. That's where it starts. When, when you attach these other blessings to it, that's when you get into trouble. Now, there is promises in the word of God that when you tithe, you open the storehouses of God. That's Malachi 3:10. And that when you do When you do receive the word, that you can take that word and have it turn into something 100, 60, and 30 times. That's the word. If you've left home and family and a house behind, that you will be blessed in this age 100-fold. Those are all scriptures. You can look them up. That's what they mean. Look at the context. Look at the chapters that are around it. You can study. You can't argue that. Those blessings are there for those people that have that heart of giving. That's there. But that is designed specifically to bless you. And for you to overflow back into the kingdom, and that's how God works. And you do understand this: is that as you continue to operate in these principles, eventually you'll get to a point where the money won't matter anymore. That you will literally have so much of it that you can't spend it anyway, and that the only place you're going to overflow is into the kingdom of God, where now your offerings will exceed your tithes and get to a point where you're spending no matter how much it is. It doesn't matter what it is, whether it's private. jets, yachts, you know, these luxurious cars, luxurious vacations. There's a cap in which a human being in 365 days a year can spend. There's no question about it. And then that excess and overflow, which people will say is wasted on Christians, will actually be poured back into the kingdom to do the work that God wants us to do. Because when you look at ancient Israel and you understood the wealth that God blessed them with, it was excessive. When you look at the territory that Israel was supposed to occupy, it's a large portion today. If you go look at it, it's a large portion of it is meant to be oil fields. So if Israel had been obedient to the Word of God, received Christ, and assuming that the world didn't end at that time, because obviously there's a lot of aspects where that could have come to place, then what would have happened is Israel today would be the richest country probably in the entire world, if not definitely probably top 3. Mm-hmm. So think about it from that perspective. Go back and look at the land map that they were supposed to— Greater Israel— and look at all of the oil fields that would have been under their control and all of the money that they would had. It would have been in the trillions and trillions of dollars because that's split up into a bunch of countries right now. And you look at the blessings that they had during Solomon's time where silver was as common as stone. This is the— that when everyone had their own home, there was no one broke, there was no one on welfare, there was no one on Social Security or the equivalent of that day. There— this is, this is where God wants the church to be. The Christian financial overflow starts within, starts with your mindset, starts with receiving the And understanding and applying in your life. It does not uptake the worldly principles and the quick biases, the quick sound bites that people say, and then applying it to your life or to anyone else's. And that anyone that does that is literally doing the work of the devil. And I can assure you, you will have to stand before Christ someday where you have to testify to him. And when he says that you did not follow my word in these places, and that ultimately becomes a part of the punishment where you get to spend eternity in a place where you don't want to be, then you'll understand that that was a mistake. But unfortunately, it'd be too late. So take this back into prayer. Let him understand and teach you. Make sure you have the character that he needs, because prosperity in a Christian sense is meant to be overflow, and it's meant to be overflowing into the kingdom of God. That's how it's supposed to work. It is not attached to donations and then I can get healing, or donations and I can get a prophetic word. That's not how it works. That's prosperity gospel. That's a lie. That's another twisting of the true gospel. But prosperity is blessings to the Christian, to his family, to his children's children, an overflow. And then from there, it's an overflow into all these other areas. And then you will actually see the power in the kingdom of God moving forward, because at that point, they have all the resources they need in order to move things forward. And it's no different than a business. It's no different than the earlier example with the 2 countries going The kingdom that has the bigger finances in the end wins. And we know, because the silver is God's, the gold is God's, his kingdom has all the resources. And so from that perspective, he will be victorious. And that's the essence. It's not because of victorious because of the money, it's victorious because of what Christ did on the cross. But in order for this realm to— in order to be successful for us, this is a part of our walk, and that's a part of what we're doing today. So Christians have to get into alignment with what God is ordaining in this age in order to be victorious. And it's a key aspect, and it is the mindset and the heart of God to fix this in the Christians and to erase the lies that the people continue to put into Christians, to blame them for success and to criticize them for doing things that was perfectly fine for people that are wicked and taking things that they're— that, you know, whatever they're doing. You know, you have people People doing things online that they're not supposed to do, but it's perfectly okay for them to buy a two million dollar home and drive a Lamborghini. But then when a minister buys a Lamborghini, then they're stealing from the church. That's not how this works. That's called a bias, and that's called a lie, and that's what the devil has been doing to the church for centuries. Ever since poverty became piety as a sense, it's a lie. It has nothing to do with it. Piety has nothing to do with poverty, and being poor is a curse. And being prosperous is a blessing when it's used properly, when it's used according to the Word of God, and when it's done correctly. You control money; money doesn't control you. God bless.
