6 Reasons Why we use Basecamp at OnlineJobs.ph

John Jonas from OnlineJobs.ph explains why his company uses Basecamp: it keeps tasks and conversations together, lets you email or use the app, gives the CEO one view of all activity, sends only relevant notifications, reliably stores information, and automates daily check-ins for remote teams.

I love Basecamp and I'm going to give you six reasons why I love it. This is not a review of Basecamp. This is me saying why I use Basecamp and love it and why I think other business owners should consider it also. So I'm going to give you six reasons and then I'm going to go into detail on those reasons in other videos. The first reason, I love it because it's simple. I love that it's project based and task based and every task has a conversation with people about that task. Number two, I love that I can communicate with Basecamp however I see fit. When I started I wanted to do it with email. Now I want to use the application. I love that we can communicate any way that we want to communicate with it. Number three, the latest activity shows me as the CEO, everything that's going on in my business and I love that I get to see it all in one place. Number four, hey, notifications are perfect for what's relevant to me right now, what has been done on projects that are relevant to me, where not everybody has to see everything that's going on, they just see what is relevant to them right now. Number five, Basecamp is persistent and reliable. It's always going to be there for me. At least I've seen it for 10 years now. And so we use it to collect information, like collecting testimonials from employers where it's a simple place, we can always put stuff here and it's always going to be here for us. And number six, for anybody who's running a remote team, automatic check ins. Basecamp asks all of these people every single day, what are you working on? And they get to respond and say exactly what it is they worked on today. I'll cover all these things in more detail in the rest of these videos. I'll just say that I think most business owners would do well to use camp, at least just to see how well they think through the things that they do rather than just adding junk and clutter. It's a very, very well thought through and designed system.
