We're here in Subic Bay. This used to be a US Military base, and now it's a commercial area. Hi, my name is Marian. I'm an online Filipino specialist working as an HR assistant in a cleaning services company located in New York City. We're here in Primero Cafe. This is where I go when I want to chill. Can I get one Spanish latte? Some of the places my employer service are markets, commercial spaces, office buildings, airport terminals, and subway stations from Bronx, Manhattan to Staten island, all throughout New York City. Right now, I'm compiling the leave request filed by three employees so that I can forward this to the project manager for his approval. My daily task includes monitoring attendance of our cleaners. I check our platform and see their location. The red pin is where they should clock in, and in the green pin shows where they actually clock in on their phones. In this particular case, it's okay because it's in the same building. But sometimes there are cleaners who clock in few blocks away and that's not acceptable. And if someone did not go to work, I will contact them and ask them the reason we're here behind the cafe. We call this area seafront. It's basically a pier for boats. And I like it here because it's relaxing. I help in processing payments and onboarding of new cleaners. In this particular area, swimming is not allowed. So I don't know why they are swimming because as you can see, this is for cargo shipments. We're here at All Hands Beach. This is one of the three swimming areas of United States Navy. Back then, the name of All Hands beach comes from the Navy's term all hands on deck. So my work is at night, 10pm up to 7am I eat breakfast, then adequately sleep throughout the day. So this is what we ordered. Bangmu sisig, garlic fried shrimp, and then the restaurant specialty, which is the Pancit Bataan. It looks like pancit Malabon, but it has more meat toppings and then the fresh buko juice and then the mango smoothie. All right, so how was it? Tasty. When not working, I play video games. During weekends, I love visiting the beach and other places near water. What I love about going to the beach, aside from the scenery, I love hearing the calming sound of the waves, the feeling of sandy toes on my feet, and also the sunset. All of this, I find it therapeutic. What advice would you give employers hoping to hire Filipinos? Personally, I'm happy with my rate, but I see a lot of posts online wherein the employer is offering very low rates. So my advice is don't lowball and just be fair with their experience. I found my employer through onlinejobs PH and I'm very happy with the flexible work setup I'm able to provide not just for myself, but also for my daughter and my mom. Thank you so much.
