Welcome to the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at working with OFS online. Filipino specialists. This is episode 127, how OFS are helping last Mile Carriers. So this is an interesting one. Different. My ofs, Julia sent me this link last week and it's an article from the American Journal of Transportation, and it mentions onlinejobs PH in it, the person they interview is using online jobs to hire OFs and VAs virtual assistants just to help to help his business. I had no idea that Last Mile carriers were using VAS until very recently when we started seeing an uptick in job posts from them. So, just so you know, Last Mile carriers are the trucks and the vans that take goods from ships and trains and bring them to stores and to your door. So, I mean, it's a huge, huge industry and they are using OFS to do all kinds of things for them, including customer service and calendar management and email management and admin support, online marketing, customer management, account management. They're doing all kinds of things. And since I started learning a little bit about this, I started talking to multiple people. I found they're using VAs and OFS for all kinds of things in the shipping industry. What was really interesting to me in all this was here's this really niche industry that's super mainstream, but also very, very old school. I mean, this goes. This industry goes back as far as trade and commerce exists. They're now like on the front end of staffing in hiring virtual workers out of the Philippines to help them run their businesses and progress and get more business. And it's really kind of interesting. Jamie, One of my OFs talked to a VA for a last mile carrier. And so the VA that she talked to said that he's an experienced virtual assistant. He didn't have a hard time learning the specific things that the Last Mile carrier wanted him to do. What he really needed was training on US geography, because trying to navigate where specific trucks are or where they're going and coordinate schedules was really difficult for him at first. Now he says he could navigate his way across California just having worked in this industry, which is. Which is an interesting kind of learning curve for someone where it kind of tells you how competent and capable this can be people in the Philippines can be with working for you. I mean, no knowledge at all of the shipping routes. And now he's fully learned it and is coordinating. Coordinating all kinds of things for this Last Mile carrier. So I would love to know if you have something interesting if you have an industry or an interesting task that you're having an OFS do for you? We've done case studies in all kinds of industries like E commerce or real estate or insurance or finance or web development or SEO. We've done case studies with people and all these things. What do you have OFS doing for you in your industry? Is your industry different? Is that kind of a different niche? And do you have OFS doing something super different for you that maybe other people haven't thought about? I would love to hear from you. Email me johnnlinejobs phone.
