Welcome to the Secret Sauce of outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at working with OFS online Filipino specialists. This is episode 189, how hiring full time changes your mindset. So let's go back to. This is 2005, when I hired my first Filipino worker. I was scared. Yeah, I just didn't know, like, can I afford this or can they actually do good work for me or can I keep them busy full time? I've never had someone work for me before that was, like, legitimate, and this is full time, and so that means I have to pay this each month. And what if there's not enough? And like, how will I create tasks for them to do? Or how. How will I train this person? How. How am I going to create the time to train this person? And I'm responsible for paying them, and what if I can't? And so I. I had all these doubts that were really kind of stopping me from. From progressing in my business. Eventually, I. I took the leap and I hired someone because I realized I just couldn't keep working the way that I was. I just couldn't keep doing what I was doing where, like, I'm working 50 or 60 hours a week. I'm trying to get everything done, but I know that I can't get everything done. There's not enough time in the day. And I don't like doing this and this and this. And so I'm putting those things off. And I have all these other things that I can do that also need to get done, so those other things never get done. And it was really, really holding me back. I needed help. And I bet that most people listening to this are in a similar situation where you just need help. And after a couple of years, so I hired this guy, and then I hired someone else, and I hired someone else after a couple of years. One day I'm sitting thinking about it, and I realized hiring someone full time forced me to think. And I had never. I had never had to do that before. I never had to think about my business. I had never had to take a step back and think, think, like, what are the effective things that we do and what I have to keep this guy busy, so what do I have him do for me? And I had to look at my processes, and I had to look at which ones do we value and which ones waste our time and what can I have him do to grow the business? And it was really an amazing thing to realize. Oh, yeah, I have to think instead of just getting Back to my email, which is brain dead, or getting back into programming, which requires thinking. But I was doing programming. It just not, it's not business growing work. So just so you know this, it wasn't an automatic process. Like, just hiring this guy wasn't automatically like, oh, everything's good. And I, I'm getting all these tasks off my plate. It took some time. It took me a while to figure out what was, what was gonna work and what wasn't and what was good for us to do and what wasn't. But the really great thing about having people in the Philippines working for you is, and if you hire them full time, one, there's 40 hours that you need to fill. And so there's like, after the first task I gave him, there's more that I could give him. Like, I started to realize I have this other task and he had time still. And so I could just give him this and say that, like, I expect, I could expect it to get done because I knew he had more time. Here's where I'm at today. Today I have outsourced, like, everything that I can, I can. And there are still things that I could use a little bit more help. I could, I could have a more reliable copywriter in the Philippines struggled with that. And I've had multiple people that were actually really good and they got sick or went wrong. And that's my weakest point right now. Well, for me, I mean, I got a lot. I have a really good team of like 40 people that are pretty dang good. So for you, what tasks can you get off of your plate? Like, what's that first thing you should, you should get someone else doing, or if you already have people, what are the other things you could be doing? So check this out. So for the last couple years, I've been asking employers who have ofs working for them online, Filipino specialists working for them. I have been asking them, what do your people in the Philippines do for you? And I've been getting responses and collecting them and collating them. And I finally put them together into a guide that you can get at ofstasks. Com. Now I've been collecting these responses and I didn't actually put them together into the book. I didn't write the book. I didn't. Didn't organize it. I didn't write the squeeze page for it. I didn't set up the mailing list for it. I didn't do the design for it. I didn't hook it all up to my mailing list. I didn't do any of that. Right. I have people in the Philippines that did all of that. Or when I got this guide back for the first time, I was jaw dropping. For me, the tasks that employers have their workers doing, it was shocking to me. And I responded to the person that put it together and said, gosh, this is amazing. This is like, so good. We need to get this into so many people's hands. Because I'm not gonna lie, it's like 31 pages long. It's a lot. And on the second page of it, I was like, oh, my gosh, this is amazing. And then I read to the third page and I started skipping pages. And I realized then I'd stop, like at page 18 and be like, there's still more. This is. This is crazy. The amount of things that employers have workers doing for them. This is free. Ofstasks.com you can get this guide. All these things that other employers actually have people doing for you. And what I titled it when I as we tried to create a title for this or I realized these are tasks that your competitors have OFS doing for them. So we titled it 221 plus tasks that OFS are doing for your competitors. Because, man, I can't think of an industry that I haven't seen that doesn't have ofs in it. It's shocking. Some of the industries that we get@onlinejobs.ph. and if you think that your industry is different, I challenge you to. I challenge you to go through this and find something that you couldn't have someone do for you. And I know that some of you are thinking like, oh, my industry is so heavily regulated, dude, I get emails from people every single day in a heavily regulated industry, whether it be finances or health care or whatever it is. Yeah, they have ofs working for them, and they're doing tasks that you think maybe they can't do or there are things that could be done. So ofstasks.com it's free.
