Welcome to the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at working with OFS online. Filipino specialists. This is episode 264. Hiring an OFS is like riding a bike. So we're big cyclists. In my family. We ride a lot. My daughters ride all winter long. It's still the winter here as I'm recording this. Last year, we rode across Europe together as a family, which was amazing. And to me, riding a bike is so easy when once you know how, like, it seems so daunting until you know how. And then once you know how, you can't imagine not knowing how. And in fact, you can't really forget how to ride a bike. Like people who don't. People who go years and years and years and years without riding a bike get back on a bike and they immediately know how. There's this muscle memory to it that's kind of odd. But once those muscles fire your muscle, once they click and connect, your muscles know how to make that work. And to a lot of people, riding a bike adds freedom. It adds opportunity, it adds exercise or competition or transportation. There's all kinds of things that riding a bike does for people. And to me, hiring an OFS is similar. It seems so hard. It seems so. I can't do this. I don't have time to do this. I don't know how to do this. I'm going to make a mistake. But it's actually really, really easy. So let me outline the steps that you need to take to hire an ofs. And once you know how, you'll never not know how. So step number one, search the skill that you're looking for at OnlineJobs ph. So go to OnlineJobs ph, and just search for the role that you're looking for. Maybe you're looking for Shopify. Just put in Shopify and see what profiles you get. Or maybe you want a procurement manager, or maybe you're looking for an admin assistant. Put that into online jobs and see what you get. See if you get some profiles of people that have that skill and see what they look like. My guess is you're going to get dozens, hundreds, thousands of profiles with that skill that you're looking for. And you'll be surprised to see, oh, wow, this person not only has six years of experience doing this, but they also have this and this and this and this other skill. You'll see it a whole bunch. Step number two, post a job. Posting a job is so simple, yet people think it's so complicated. We overcomplicate this in our minds. It just job title, job description, salary and skills. Super duper simple. And the job description doesn't have to be long. It can be just a couple of lines@onlinejobs.ph posting a job is free. There's nothing to lose here. Then step number three, interview them via email. So everybody always wants to jump straight to like scheduling a video interview with people. And to me, that's the worst way you could go about this. Interview them via email, ask them lots of questions. You don't need to do any prep work to do this. It doesn't take you hardly any time at all. No scheduling, no time zones, no video conference links. Just keep asking them questions. This is how you're going to communicate with them most of the time in your virtual working relationship in the end anyway. So it's a really good way to interview. And this is my secret to how I find really good people every time. Next, number four, Hire the best fit. Now in the best fit, you're not hiring the best skill. You're hiring a person with a personality. So hire the best fit for your business, not the most, not necessarily the most skilled person. Now, I cover all of this in super good detail at 1vaoa.com and 1vaoa.com is designed to make your hiring experience basically flawless and super fast and super simple. Because I, I don't want to spend a bunch of time interviewing people or posting a job or hiring people. I want my hiring process to be super fast. I did it two times in the last couple weeks, super, super quick. Took me probably one hour for each of those two positions total. And I found two amazing people. Hiring an OFS is. It's a lot like riding a bike. I mean once you know how to do it, you'll never unknowing how to do it. It'll open up a whole world of possibilities. In fact, to a lot of people, learning how to hire correct people is more liberating and gives more freedom than learning how to ride a bike. It really is amazing.
