John Jonas (host) presents episode 321 of the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast (YouTube video, Oct 30, 2023). He shares an email from a long-time Filipino team member describing how her seventh-grade daughter independently secured summer work polishing PowerPoint presentations (first one free, subsequent paid), including work for a local chamber of commerce preparing a ‘fancy’ presentation for a visiting senator. Jonas frames this as an example of how hiring online Filipino specialists (OFS) can change multiple generations of lives, encourages listeners to try hiring via onlinejobs.ph, and notes that such outcomes are far more likely than consistently poor experiences.

Welcome to the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at working with OFS online Filipino specialists. This is episode 321. My OFS kids are now doing online work. So one of the things I love about what I do is how fulfilling it is. Meaning I hear success stories basically every day from either someone who got a job in the Philippines or an employer who is successfully hiring people, or now I'm hearing it from my own workers about their kids. And I've said this before, and I will say it again. When you hire someone in the Philippines, you will change generations of lives. So I recently got this email from one of my team members, and I'm just gonna read this because it was so good and I was so excited about this. And part of this is because I'm an entrepreneur, like, at heart. I have to be starting or running something, and I love seeing other people do it, especially young people. So. So she writes. Hi, John and Dan. Remember last year when I asked you to give my daughter a summer job? Now, I didn't actually remember that, but once she said something, I did remember her saying, hey, my daughter's at home for the summer. You think we could find something for her to do? Or she said, I actually have this thing that I do that she could do that would be really good for her and you don't have to pay her very much. So she continues, she's in seventh grade now and has found a summer job alone. She contacted some of my friends and asked if they needed help polishing their PowerPoint presentations for work. She knew their presentations were formal and dull, so she offered to do the first one for free. The next ones will be paid. This is one where I took her to a client meeting coffee with one of my friends. And I love this picture on for so many reasons. One, they're still wearing masks in the Philippines. Not everybody, not everywhere, but it's still definitely a thing. Two, look at the picture on her laptop. That is Doofenshmirtz, who, if you don't know who that is, it is from Phineas and Ferb. He's the villain and such a great character. But also, I know Doofenshmirtz super well because my kids watch Phineas and Ferb a lot and apparently so does she. So my seventh grader and my OFS seventh grader are having the same television experiences in their lives. They're both watching Phineas and Ferb. Her email continues. Just yesterday, she did one for our local chamber of commerce. They wanted a Fancy presentation for a visiting senator. Thank you again for letting her do a bit of work last year. The the summer job you gave her gave her the comp. The summer job you gave her last year gave her the confidence to approach people and the discipline to finish her work. So there's some things to note about this. Number one, generations. You will change generations of lives as you hire people in the Philippines, including yours and your kids lives. Number two, she's in seventh grade and already out working because she's grown up watching her parents work on the computer. Her parents have worked for me. Well her mom has worked for me since I would say 2011, maybe 2010. And so that's all she knows is work on the computer. Well, I could probably work on the computer too in the end. Look, you can go wrong hiring an ofs. Like you can hire the wrong person. You can have a mediocre experience, you could have a poor experience. All these things happen. It could take you two or three hires before you find someone good. But the reality is you're more likely to find amazing help to change the way you work, to get time back in your life to change their lives, to change your life, to change your kids lives, to change their parents lives. You're so much more likely to have a life changing experience than you are to have a poor experience. But you won't know until you try it. You can try it@onlinejobs.ph it's super simple. Post a job for free. You will see if people are interested by getting applicants. Then you can upgrade and start contacting communicating with those people. Hire someone amazing. Change your life.
