Welcome to the Secret Sauce of Outsourcing podcast that's dedicated to making you better at working with OFS Online Filipino Specialist. This is episode 352. Can you find the top 1% of workers? This is a. This is a common theme among people trying to outsource or trying to hire overseas is you want to hire the top. The top tier worker. You want to find the top 1%. They're even entire freelancer websites dedicated to top 1%. They call it like top tal or I don't remember what the other one is, but they're like, oh, we only hire the best, which is just a complete lie. And I've had multiple people that have used them say, oh yeah, that's just a lie. They're just pulling people off and saying, oh, these are the top 5%. Whatever, that's fine. Because it's really, really hard to say this person is the top 1% when you're hiring a personality. And personality matters in the top with your business, right? So it doesn't matter if they hired someone who's super highly skilled, that person doesn't get along with you. Well, they're not the top 1% for you. So can you find the top 1%? Well, typically people will tell me, oh, that's super difficult, it's super expensive. I can't find that. I can't find those people. And I'm going to say, well, you're doing it wrong then, because I know exactly where you can find the top 1% of people and at an affordable rate. People who graduated at the top of their class, people with years and years of experience who are recognized for their skills in the industry. That place is onlinejobs. Ph. And now people are saying, oh, the top 1% is so expensive, I can't afford that. Well, that's because you're. Again, you're doing it wrong. Yeah, you can't afford to hire the top 1% if you're doing it locally or if you're spending hundreds of hours trying to find someone on onlinejobs. Ph. So I'm going to show you another video today from Atiba, who I talked about in the last episode. Atiba has done a really great job of finding top tier people. So again, if you're watching this on YouTube, you're gonna see him. If you're on the podcast, you're gonna hear this. Let's listen to Atiba.
We've been using online jobs to hire for the last three years and I wanna just share a couple things with you today. You're getting to hire the best of the best. You know, in traditional settings, you only hire people who are close to wherever your business is working with ofss. You can go and hire people who are in the top 1% of their craft to come in and work for you. That changes the output that you can make in your company. That changes what your company can do. So don't just look at this as, oh, I'm just hiring a bunch of virtual assistants. Cause that's not what it is at all. You're not just hiring a bunch of to do people, you're hiring people who are when you find the right ones, and that's the key. You can search and find the right ones. You hire people who are in the top 1% of what they do and they make major, major impact in your company.
Okay, so now let me give you a couple of tips on how to go and find the this top tier people. So number one, you're going to start at onlinejobs ph, you're gonna search for the skill you're looking for. Now when you're searching for the skill you're looking for, you're gonna start browsing some resumes. Your goal here is to figure out, can I narrow this down to top people? You're starting to look at what, what do top people say in their headlines? Do they say expert or specialist? Do they say something like that? Or do they just list their skills? You're also looking at costs. What does a top tier person cost? Because the top of the top of the heap is definitely a different cost than the bottom. Someone with years of experience has learned that they're more valuable than someone who's brand new at this. Okay, so next, everybody wants to post a job on onlinejobs ph, and have those people come apply to that job. So in this case, that's actually the wrong way to do it. I think that's one of the reasons why people struggle to find top talent. Because top talent often already have work. They already have a job. They're not actively applying to jobs. And then usually top tier talent is a specialty. And so when they're looking for a job, there's only really one or two job posts that fit their skills. And if you don't happen to make your job post at the same time when they're looking, well, there's a timing problem there. So rather than just posting your job, how about of all these people that you've now found, because you're searching them and you're narrowing it down, you're adding skills and you're filtering. Now you go and start contacting people individually and say, hey, I'm looking for this type of person. Are you interested? It's not an invitation to apply to a job post. It's not saying. It's not spamming people saying, oh, hey, apply to my job post saying, hey, are you interested in work for this type of role from those who respond to you? You can start interviewing people who don't respond to you. Well, then you're going to ignore those people. So can you find the top 1%? I find top 1% all the time. It is not that hard. Yes, you can do it. And you can hire them at onlinejobs. Ph.
