A short YouTube episode (John Jonas) discussing how "family culture" affects Filipino online workers' motivation and work quality. Team feedback indicates that when workers don't feel they belong or are cared for by their organization, they disengage and deliver lower-quality work; the speaker contrasts earlier "felt like family" times with current remote/scale realities and promises solutions in upcoming episodes.

Family culture and how it affects Filipinos working mindlessly.
So this is episode number five of I think I'm gonna have seven about why Filipino workers sometimes work mindlessly. And when I asked my team about this, the one answer that came back consistently that really surprised me was when.
They talked about family culture.
So what I learned was when they don't feel like they belong to something.
They don't belong to the organization. They don't care about their work. This translates to a company culture. If they don't feel like they're part.
Of it, then the work's not going to be great. So this translates into a company culture.
And how much they feel like they're cared for. So here's some of the quotes from my team.
Some never felt that they are part of the family organization, thus they would never care. Here's another one quote. Lack of respect from peers, colleagues at.
Work, or even at the personal level.
When we were still starting, it really.
Felt like a family. And once you were introduced to one person, we wanted to talk to each other a lot.
When we had problems, I loved everyone. We would also reach out to each.
Other when there were problems.
However, the team has grown so much. The industry has changed and the work.
From home environment is also very different now. Next.
Most Filipinos today no longer look at.
Their online work as family as we have.
They just see work with the same.
Weight and value as they see any 8 to 5 job.
So Filipinos are very caring, they're very service oriented, they're very loving.
When they don't feel this being reciprocated to them, they lose interest. It's very off putting to them.
If they don't feel cared for, they.
Reciprocate that lack of care. They don't care about the work, they don't care about the quality, they don't care about the output. They don't care. So.
So I'm not saying that you have to send birthday cards to your ofs.
Or you have to do special things.
For them on holidays or whatever, but I'm just saying if they don't know that you care about them as a person or you don't care about them and getting their job done, that you don't care for them, well, they don't really care for you either.
And that is going to affect the quality of their work.
Tomorrow in the next episode, I'll have solutions to this that they came up with and then after that I'll talk.
About solutions that I have worked through with my team.
