Hey. Welcome to video two in the video series of how to hire a great virtual assistant. In this video, we'll cover how to find potential workers. So there are multiple places you can find virtual workers in the Philippines. But if you're listening to me, chances are you've been told by someone else that OnlineJobs ph is the place to go. So I own OnlineJjava ph. I created it over 10 years ago, and I have seen hundreds of thousands of employers use it to find virtual workers in the Philippines. Yes, there are other ways of finding people. You could go through an agency, you could go through a virtual staffing company. You could go to Upwork or Fiverr. But in the end, you'll find that nobody gives you the control over who you're hiring or the value you'll get from onlinejobs ph. And that's why you've been told to listen to me and to go to onlinejobs ph. So how do you get started? Here's the process. Number one, you start by posting a job. Now, if you listen to my previous video, hopefully you're hiring someone to do something you already know how to do. So writing a job description shouldn't be that hard. If that's the case, you don't need to be super specific, but you should give enough so that you get rid of junky applicants. You want better applicants, not just generic. I want to be a VA applicants. Number two, unless you're hiring for a technical position, which a technical position is like a webmaster or a programmer or a graphic designer or a video editor, which, if you're doing those things, then you know how to recruit someone for your job. Otherwise, if it's a virtual assistant, you're hiring for someone to do something you're currently doing, English is the number one skill. That's the skill that matters. Everything else is secondary. Everything else can be taught. You don't need them to be an expert at social media because you can teach them your way of doing social media. So then social media is being done almost as if it were by you instead of by somebody else's way, who knows how they learned it or whatever. Here's a good tip for you in your job description, you're going to start weeding people out. Writing your job description. You're going to ask them to include a keyword, like at the end of their title or at the end of their application. That keyword is, I don't know, like Apple or pink Cadillac or whatever it is. The reason you do that is because you're going to see initially, did you pay attention to instructions or did you send me a form letter? Because you're not interested in people who don't pay attention to instructions. You want people to read your post. You want to get a personalized application. That's where you're going to find someone who is going to be a dedicated virtual assistant. Yes, it's great to find someone who's heavily skilled, but. But in my experience, it's more important to find someone who's dedicated, who pays attention to details, who follow directions. We're going to talk about that in the next video. So you have asked them to include a keyword. Anything that doesn't include that thing, just throw it out. So you probably ask them to include it in the title of their application. Just anybody who doesn't do it, throw it out. You're good. So when you go to figure out pricing, how much you're going to pay, here's a great way to do it. Here's what I do. Go into onlinejobs ph and search for the skill that you're looking for. Maybe it's English, maybe it's copywriting, maybe it's blogging. Whatever it is, you're gonna search that skill and then you're gonna browse profiles and you're gonna look and see like, okay, here's a VA they're asking for 12,000 Filipino pesos per month, which is, you know, like $300 a month or something like that. And you're gonna, you're gonna look at tons of profiles. You're just gonna start seeing, here's the skills I'm looking for in this profile and this profile. In this profile. Here's how much they're asking for. And you get a pretty good idea of like low end, mid end, and high end. And depending on you and how you want to do this, you'll know a pretty good place to put your salary that you're willing to pay. So after you've done this, you post your job, you get it out there, you'll start getting applications coming in. Interviewing is the next step and we're going to cover that in the next video. There is another option for how to start recruiting people. And this is actually the option that I very often prefer. What I will usually do is I will go and search for the skills I'm looking for. And usually, like, you search for VA, you're going to get 100,000 results and you can't recruit that many. So then I'll start narrowing it down and I'll start adding specific skills that I'm interested in, or I'll start requiring. If you go to the advanced search in online jobs, you can get specific skills and how they've rated themselves in those skills. So you can start filtering it down. At that point, I'm going to contact probably 20 different people. The mistake is to narrow it down to one person, narrow it down to, like, find the one and then contact them. If you do that, you're likely to be disciplined. Filipinos are loyal and loyal to the point where if they have a job, they're probably not going to respond to you. So not always, but it's a very common experience. So contact 20 or 30 of them, see who replies, and then start the recruiting process, which. The interview process, which we'll cover in the next video. So hopefully you get the idea of, like, how to start recruiting. What I often find is if you're going to online jobs and search and just look at profiles, just search, search for the type of person you're looking for. Look at profiles. You'll see all kinds of skills and all kinds of people. Sometimes I'll just go through and browse resumes and I'll think like, oh, look at these skills that this person has. Oh, my gosh, I should hire this person because we could do this and this and this is my business. Or like, oh, look at this guy. I can hire him because we could do this and this and this. And you'll get this whole new world opening up to you of possibilities for what you can do in your business. So in the next video, we'll cover my interviewing tips, my interviewing process to weed out all everybody except for the rock star workers. I'm John Jonas from onlinejobs Ph.
